Veru simply grinned, pulling his paw back like a scolded child. "Actually, I'm pretty sure they're some sort of relic," he said, although it was unlikely anyone was ready to argue semantics with him. Boy had a temper! Had he forgotten she was the one holding out on the pride? Or maybe he was just showing off for the lady! In which case. Well played, sir.
Naseera seemed visibly relieved once people stopped threatening to pull the heads off her stuff. His apologies seemed strange to her, and for a moment she seemed unsure how to respond. She started to collect up various things in her mouth, placing them in safer locations. "...well... if you wanted to trade, why didn't you say so?" Her nose scrunched up. "I don't like your friend. I don't like people bothering my things."
"I would say them being your things is a matter of opinion," Veru said.
Naseera squinted her grey eyes. "No one wanted them. No one in this pride even knows what these things could be worth. You don't just... pull off the heads of things that are hundreds of years old!" She seemed particularly horrified at that. "Some things don't need uses to be important."
"Yes, well. Safe to say, we're not interested in anything like that," the white lion corrected.
Naseera, tucking away the odd idols behind a few stones, turned around and faced Fen'wei. "Well. If you have something to trade, let me see it. I'm not interested in trading conversation with him."

Fen'wei looked to Veru, and rolled his eyes.
He took the bundle he had beside him and unwrapped it. Within the bundle were lots of small shiny objects the shade of the sun. Some were chipped, some were just pieces of other items, but they were gold like the sun and he had loved the color enough to hide them to keep.
"I found these in the dunes," he explained.
He pushed the pieces apart, one had a pale colored stone stuck to the gold piece, it looked almost amber like his eyes, it's why he liked it.
"Perhaps you might like any of these, for an item you may or may not have I'm in search for?"
He swished his tail and pushed them forward towards her so she could have a look, but he was sure to keep himself between Veru and the objects so he would take one.
"I'm looking for a container like object, it looks like a turtle shell, but can e round or even like this," he said drawing a square in the nearby sand. "There's a small mouth like opening on the top of it, maybe a strap? I found one, but it crumbled when I touched it, it was too old, do you have anything like it?"

The black cat's eyes went wide as soon as Fen'wei opened his small bundle. Oh yes, Naseera liked shiny things. She practically wriggled as she leaned down to inspect them. Dust and debris was pushed off carefully with a puff of breath, or a gentle swipe of her paw. "You found these in the desert?" She said, her voice laced with something akin to admiration. The treasure hunter herself was impressed! That did not happen often.
She wheeled around the group of objects in further inspection. Her mind was racing. If he'd found this out in the desert, who knew what she might be able to find! She was practically giddy. "Yes, yes. I have plenty of those," she snorted, more focused on her own observations than theirs.
"It might help if you told us where to look," Veru said. There was certainly a lot of stuff, he wasn't wrong about that!
"Over there, over there!" Naseera said, jerking her tail to the left. "Behind that rock there. I put most of the round things over there. They're worth a lot though, I hope you're expecting to part with a good lot of this!" It was hard to tell if she was serious, or simply playing the good bargainer.
Veru certainly knew nothing of bargaining. Or even of caring about such odd little things, although he could certainly see the use for a water container. Curiously, he followed Fen'wei towards the rock indicated by Naseera. Sure enough, in the crook where the wind couldn't get at it was a venerable assortment of jar pots and shells. Most were cracked and broken in places, but a few seemed solid. One or two of them seemed to have been carved by a heavy kind of stone.

((I found a couple of photos of what I referring to as well, for desert/african canteens and such, linked them appropriately~one if of hard clay/pottery and the other of old metal/leather, I'd suspect both would be easy to find in the desert from lost, wandering travelers? I can change if needed <3))
Fen'wei's eyes seemed to glow, in happiness? At her excitement, he felt proud. "I can show you where, sometime, if you like, there are several good spots, I've more too, but no where as good to hide them as you have here," he looked to the openings and then watched her move about.
At her words he moved with Veru to look at what she had to offer.
Fen'wei gently moved the objects around, though he couldn't tell what Veru might do.
What interested Fen'wei the most was something that looked like a turtle shell, but wasn't. It was hard. heavy, and wrapped methodically in a rope that frayed in several places. It was almost like a cradling device. Fen'wei pulled it out and turned it over, and when he did, one other showed itself. This one was like the one he found in the desert, but it wasn't brown or falling apart, this was a tinge of green, what showed, and the rest was wrapped in some kind of hide like material. Perhaps if the one he found still had the material on it, it would have survived.
Fen'wei pulled both out, and brought them over to Naseera carefully and put them next to what he offered. He looked back to Veru, "Find anything?"
He then looked to Naseera and pushed what he found forward, "I'm sure Veru will pick something, and I like these two, looks like they'll hold water fine. If Veru picks something as well, which would you want?" he asked, flicking his tail, watching her watch him.

This seemed to delight the black cat. Which was something of a feat, as she rarely seemed to have much emotions beyond 'vaguely bemused'. "That would be wonderful! I want to know where these places are! If this isn't even the half of it, who knows what might be out there!" Her paws pushed together. Could there even be places hidden beneath the sands? She'd heard of things like that before! Old, monstrous places. Her mother had warned her never to disturb the dead, but Naseera had made an occupation of it. "These markings are very interesting...."
Ignoring her chatter for the most part, Veru palmed around the various oddities. Fen'wei seemed to have the better of it, and a few of the container like contraptions even had strips of hide that would make carrying even easier. The only problem was those small, empty holes on top. With most of the water being murky and muddy, it might make getting it in there something of a tricky affair. But it was better than nothing! "Those look very good," he said. "I see mostly only broken jars here. There's a shell that might be useful."
Naseera turned her head towards Fen'wei. Then, she glanced back at the collection of oddities. She plucked out a golden shard of something, and placed it delicately on top of a stone. "I'll tell you what. If you show me where you found these and let me keep what I find, all I need is this little shard." She grinned, a bit too easily for Veru's liking. He had a feeling they were being had.
But it wasn't like they had a working knowledge of what was valuable. At least he didn't. Veru nodded at Fen'wei. "They're your things. Does that sound like a fair trade to you?"

"We could try to make the shell into a small basin," Fen'wei said, "try to put it amongst the stones I gathered, line it along the edges maybe? If it can help, grab it," Fen'wei said with a smile.
When Naseera spoke, Fen'wei scrunched his nose and looked confused. She only wanted one shard, not more?
That's it?
"The markings on it are nice, yes, but you have to take something else at least for these." Fen'wei picked out a few more pieces of gold shards, and pushed them towards her. "At least these for these containers, and the shells? And if you want to see where I go, I'll take you to where I found that piece-" he said pointing to the first shard with the markings on it. "-whenever you'd like, I've no qualms with that. But," he said, hesitating, "if you find more of these, anything that could contain water, if you find them and give them to the water seekers, I'll show you where the other cashes are, where I barely scraped the surface, and we'll go together, sound good?"
He was at least trying to be a good bargainer, and maybe...somehow...make a date too?

Naseera was a shrewd businesswoman. Also she liked to plot, and for the moment, the shard had caught her attention. She wasn't about to miss out on a chance to secure the rights to the rest of it. "Nonsense! Just this shard. Then you take me to where you found it, and I can keep the rest of it." She paused for a moment, and then not-so-subtly added: "I mean, it's nothing valuable it's just that I really like these things to...uh, collect. I have a lot of them. Dozens, in fact."
She only had one, and that was the one she was holding. Her tail swayed excitedly. Conniving or not, she was still rather impressed Fen'wei had been able to find something like this! Most of the lions around here were thugs and nothing more. Maybe this one had some potential! "Okay. I will trade you those for this shard," she reiterated. "Then you will show me where you find it. And I keep the rest of where this came from, but you may keep whatever you think can hold water. I think that sounds fair. Very fair, in fact!"
Veru's feeling turned into assurance. They were getting robbed. But, it wasn't like he knew what to do with what looked like...litter, from where he was standing. And he certainly wasn't about to stop a guy from landing a date! Appreciatively, he looked over to Fen'wei, to see if he was in agreement. But then he got an idea. "We'll need something to carry these with."
Naseera's ears perked up, and she looked around. "I have some slings around here. You may need to make a few trips, but they'll carry the jars empty."

"Oh really?" Fen'wei asked, a slight smirk on his maw, his tail swishing behind him. "I'd love for you to show me, that is, before I take you to the secret place. Seems suitable, no? Coming here to find you, seeing the treasures you desire, then bringing you to what you wish, yes, very true to fact."
He winked at her though, and smiled.
"If that is what you wish then I agree, and it is settled." Fen'wei looked around to where the slings might be and spotted a couple, "we'll take the couple things I found, and what Veru found, but let us know if you find more, yes? We'll bring them back to the pride, see who wants to use one, and then I'll return, perhaps early tomorrow, to take you to where you want to go?"

Naseera floundered a moment, clearly caught in a lie. Oh dear. "Oh, they're just...somewhere...lying around-" her eyes glanced around the area. She laughed it off, waving her paw gently in front of her. "Please, please. Don't let me keep you. Take the slings, they'll at least help you get them there in one piece. And I'll continue to trade the bowls so long as you keep your end of the bargain."
The impish cat moved forward, hopping onto a small rock like a perch. "And, if you want to pick me up for our little date sometime I'll be here!" Or on patrols. She did have work, after all! Although as to how vigilant she was at that career choice....!
Veru chuckled slightly to himself, leaning down and plucking up the various containers. "Alright, I have a suspicion moving all of this is going to take a while..." The white lion leaned down, and hooked one of the delicate objects into the mesh sling. This seemed like a job for a stronger lion. They'd have to commandeer Vlam from Ea on their way back. "Now here's hoping we have something to fill them with!"
[ <3 And we can wrap~]
