The Star
Name/meaning: Mchumba "sweetheart"
Personality:
She is always a good hyena, making sure to not be looked down upon. She has to know everything to be a good hyena to the clan but at times she can be silly, have some laughs and a good, firm hyena.
What was her life like in her old clan?: she was always looked down upon. She never could bear good pups so she had to find a new places with new males and see if she can correct her mistake.
What profession did she have?: she was the top hunter in her old clan.
How does she feel about the ex-Queen?:
She is a pretty one and a classy hyena that is good enough to rule.
How will she fit in to her new, middle-class rank?: priestess


The ex-Prince
Name/meaning: Bujune "Sorrow, Troubles
Personality:
He is a cool guy but very depressed at times. His memories always flood back into him of the time he was a cub to now.
What was his life as royalty like before he was a slave?:
He remembered it all. As he was taught to rule with a good but iron paw he then was stood up by his little brother who envied him in front of his father. He kept talking of him not to take the throne and when he failed, he then kidnapped the prince.
What led up to his capture?: his evil brother sold him into slavery the same day he was to be king.
How does he feel about the hand he's been dealt?: very upsetting, it reminds him that he must have done something wrong to deserve this.
What losses did he suffer when he was captured?: freedom gone and serving a hyena.


The Gentle Lady
Name/meaning: Chidiebere "GOD is gentle"
Personality: a quiet one who only speaks when spoken to but when she sings she has a gorgeous voice.
What was her life like before she was a slave?: she was a singer for every ritual in her previous home but the other singers hated her. She was the most popular so the got rid of her by leading her there under false directions.
What profession did she have before her capture?: a singing requirement for rituals
How does she feel about the hand she's been dealt?: she doesn't speak of it unless told to
What losses did she suffer when she was captured?: her voice to be unused

The Star
Name/meaning: Ajabu (Strange in Swahili)

Personality: Ajabu is a practical, no-nonsense sort, when she isn't looking up at the night sky and having conversations with the stars. She almost has a split personality. During the day, she is very particular and focused on her tasks, accomplishing her goals quickly and effectively. She has to, because when the sun goes down, it quickly becomes apparent why her name means 'strange'.

As the stars come out, the Ajabu of the day time fades into a giggly, dreamy hyena with stars in her eyes. She firmly believes that she is, in fact, made of stars and needs to find her way back to them. Ajabu has identified certain constellations as her family, including a mother, a father, and three sisters. She will have animated conversations with these constellations, and should she be approached by another during this time, she will attempt to pull them into her delusions and introduce them to her family, quickly growing offended to the point of attack if they try to tell her she is seeing things that aren't real.

What was her life like in her old clan?: In her old clan, Ajabu was something of an outcast. An unusual, starry coat and having grown up an orphan, kept alive by the pity of unrelated packmates and resulting in her... unique personality, ensured that she would never achieve much within their society. Nevertheless, she does know quite a bit about plant life and herbs, and used this knowledge to achieve a decent position, if mundane one, in her old clan.

What profession did she have?: In her old clan, Ajabu would best be described as an herbalist or an apothecary, due to her extensive knowledge of gathering and using herbs.

How does she feel about the ex-Queen?: She's actually fairly neutral in opinion of the Queen. She didn't have much contact with her in their old clan, so she has no real reason to dislike her, but neither does she have much reason to like her. She did, after all, nothing to either harm Ajabu or aid her while growing up, so she doesn't particularly see her as an authority figure, but rather just a hyena she doesn't know extremely well.

How will she fit in to her new, middle-class rank?: She will fit in fairly well, making the adjustment to a middle-class rank with ease. It is likely that she will attempt to fill a role as a priestess as that is where her capabilities lead. And, well, so she's a little odd at night. But at least she's not odd all the time - unlike most of the hyenas here. This clan is cray-cray.

The Star
Name/meaning: Kyleigh (means “boomerang”)
Personality: Kyleigh is a very strong-willed hyena. Her life was filled with many hardships and she overcame them. She is somewhat easy to hurt emotionally but she bounces back quickly from them. The way she is with others is caring. No matter the creature, she is very caring due to the fact that she is talented at mixing things for healing. She can't stand to see others hurt physically. She really enjoys quiet time. Sometimes, she will meditate to get better concentration or to get rid of frustrations she may have.
What was her life like in her old clan?: Kyleigh lived a life of comfot. As a healer, she was valued for her knowledge. Mostly, all she did was work with her medicines and patch up those that have gotten bust up while hunting or driving away other predators.
What profession did she have?: Kyleigh was a healer.
How does she feel about the ex-Queen?: Kyleigh thinks of the ex-Queen as any other hyena. In her eyes no life is more precious than anothers.
How will she fit in to her new, middle-class rank?: Kyleigh will fit in well as a priestess. She will be able to do the jobs required of her with no problem. The problem will be accepting the clans ways. At times, she may try to defy the laws to help any servants or slaves she sees in need. Of course, she'd never do that out in the open, only at times when she will not be noticed. Her paws were meant for healing, not for controlling others. Still, at least she still has her life. Kyleigh can only accept her fate and make the best of it.

The Knight
Name/meaning: Alojz (means “famous warrior”)
Personality: Alojz is a very friendly hyena. He tends to get along with any creature that is nice enough. To those he knows, he is affectionate, showing how much he cares constantly. He is very protective of those he is tasked with protecting. Alojz doesn't take one moment for granted. His best quality is that he can adjust to different personalities. It's what makes him so easy to get along with. He has opinions but getting along with others is more important to him.
What was his life like in his old clan?: Alojz was care-free yet still dutiful. He did his job as a guard but was always chatting away with others. Mostly, he was always guarding the royals of his clan. He took his job very seriously but was always kind to others.
What profession did he have?: Alojz was a guard in his old clan. He specifically guarded the royals of the clan while they were moving outside the dens.
How does he feel about the ex-Queen?: Alojz cares about the ex-Queen greatly. He is not in love with her, it is a protective caring since he was one of her guards. He truly hopes that she is treated well.
How will he fit in to his new, low-class rank?: Alojz will have a hard time adjusting to the role of servant at first. He will want to be near those he knows to make sure they are safe. It will also be a bit of a shock how the males are treated by the females. He would never be mean to anyone though. After awhile he will have gotten used to it. His kindness will still be there but his affectionate ways will disappear over time.

The Servant
Name/meaning: Donatien (means “given”)
Personality: Donatien is very uneasy around others due to his past. He does not like to take on responsibility in which he is solely responsible for the results. He is often very dirty due to his sloppy nature. His paws tend to be uncoordinated and he trips a lot. There is an awkwardness to him around females since he has a hard time forming words when one is near. He tends to be quiet more often than not.
What was his life like in his old clan?: Donatien was given as a gift to the ex-Queen from a rival hyena clan. He had committed a crime in his original clan and was to be exiled but the ex-Queen offered to take him as her servant. He pretty much served her and did whatever tasks were put before him. Being a servant wasn't all that bad though. He was not treated badly and was allowed to go hunting when not needed. The rest of the clan watched him closely to make sure he never killed another pup again.

The pup killing had actually been an accident. Donatien had been taking them to drink water from a river. He had accidentally tripped on the bank of the river, sending the pup on his back straight into the deep part. The pup couldn't swim and he had not saved it in time. He was accused of drowning the pup.
What profession did he have?: Donatien was basically a servant though it was a rare thing for any in the clan to become a servant.
How does he feel about the ex-Queen?: Donatien is ever grateful to the ex-Queen for taking him into her clan. Though she ordered him around a lot, he doesn't harbor any bad feelings towards her.
How will he fit in to his new, low-class rank?: Donatien will fit in quite well and will actually be glad that he has to share space with other males. The females will frighten him. Since he already has a hard time conversing with females, the more superior ones will probably cause him to not be able to speak at all. He will follow orders well and not question them or argue.

The Grizzled Warrior
Name/meaning: Epaphroditos (means “lovely, charming”)
Personality: Epaphroditos is truly like a knight. He is always kind to females and is extremely courteous. He would never strike another from behind. Despite his courteous nature, he is ferocious in a fight and a very skilled hunter. He is very determined when stalking prey, never giving up in a fight or hunt. Epaphroditos is a bit of a player. He is kind to all females and also spreads his love to any female that will accept it. It is not his nature to settle down.
What was his life like before he was a slave?: Epaphroditos was considered a very skilled hunter in his pride. He fooled around with many of the females and has been lucky to never have any cubs result from them.
What profession did he have before his capture?: Epaphroditos was one of the top hunters in his pride. He would typically be leading hunts.
How does he feel about the hand he's been dealt?: Epaphroditos is extremely mad for the first time in his life. He is not happy at all with what happened and the position that he is now in as a slave. Eventually, he will grow bitter but still keep his knightly tendencies when it comes to females of the feline variety.
What losses did he suffer when he was captured?: Epaphroditos has never known loss like the ones he suffered at the paws of the hyenas. He had done his absolute best to protect the females of his pride, helping them escape if he could or just straight up fighting to keep them safe. Though he fought hard, most of them perished and he went a little mad for a moment before being captured.

The ex-Prince
Name/meaning: Khariton (means “grace, kindness”)
Personality: Khariton is a very caring lion. He carries himself with a graceful air due to his royal lineage. Though he was not the ruler yet, he would always go out into his pride to see how the individuals within were doing in preparation for when he would take over. He has a tendency to be optimistic more often then not and will make the most of any situation.
What was his life as royalty like before he was a slave?: Khariton enjoyed a pampered life. There was no one to really compete with. His parents took great care of him. The most work he would do was to try learning the different things his pride members did. Though it was usually just him watching them do it.
What led up to his capture?: Khariton is not a fighter at all. His reliance on guards to protect him was probably his downfall. The fact that he didn't fight much is probably the reason he is still alive.
How does he feel about the hand he's been dealt?: Khariton is more saddened than anything else. He will attempt to remain optimistic but knows that there is little he can do to escape. His skills did not lend itself to stealth or fighting. Words would not sway the hyenas either. It is with sorrow in his heart that he will try to make the most of the tragic situation.
What losses did he suffer when he was captured?: He had to watch his pride get slaughtered, chased off, or captured. That was the greatest loss he suffered. Not being able to protect him was a huge blow to his ego. All the lions he cared about so much and he couldn't do a damn thing.
