What happens when a male witnesses the birth of a litter? The father will either be immediately taken and killed or forced out of the lands. The mother too will face one of the two fates as well. While she is not the disgrace her cubs are she's the one who carried them, so its guilt by association. Through the law she will forever now bring disgrace to any other cubs she bares. The cubs are now living disgraces to the pride and will either be exiled or killed as well. It is said they bring bad luck and bad tidings to the rest of the pride.
