Yasumeh felt the mans body leave the ground and half way through the air noticed the gap in his legs, meaning that the mans throat was not being compressed as much as it should have and he would be able to counter. Half way through the flip he let go, the chains wrapping around his arms just as they left the ground and the blade soaring past his leg, scrapping it enough to make it bleed but not profusely so. Landing on his feet his arms strained to release the chains but to no extent, the tight bind slowly cutting off circulation and causing them to pulse with pain.
He watched his opponent stand, his nose dripping blood meaning the attempt hadn't been fruitless as a grin crossed his face. To escape the binds one would normally need time, his mind raced with possibilities figuring out not only how to loose himself of them, but how to have the entire process aid him in a counter attack. "Eh, she's right, I'm far to handsome to be maimed... so just watch the general face area" he said, the irony not lost on his rather disheveled features making him rugged at best, but far from the clean cut gentlemen most women swooned over. As Gerard leaped back he felt the yank of the chains on his arms, and rather than fight it than nigh any other opponent would do, he leaned forwards and jumped, using the weight of Gerard's pull combined with his own powerful leap to dive forwards, his body spinning counter clockwise from the chains clockwise binding. His hat looked like a spinning top concealing his entire body as it moved forwards in a spinning motion flat, coming in for a diving head-butt with Gerard's gut. The move was risky, but he knew with Gerard's chain spinning wildly from being bound in his arms and his body reasserting it's balance after his jump that the the whole situation was set up as good as it could be. That combined with the extreme physical strength and durability he had developed for lack of using a weapon to parry or deflect attacks made the spinning dive a lethal as a sledgehammer.

Gerard's colorful, albeit eerily pupiless eyes continued to scan the other man as he was performing his moves, readying himself for any sort of counter that he might try to come up with, but he was rewarded in finding his maneuvers working out this time as he jumped back. His first strike on his opponent had been worked in, though it was a small victory, it was the small victories in life that were worth it. He had drawn blood. They both had. He respected Yasumeh more than he had ever respected him before now though. The man was a warrior through and through, but he was a warrior with a brain. Fighting him made him think of the days before the 47 Ronin Incident. He remembered those days and his hand went down to a long scar across his stomach. Gerard almost laughed when the man mentioned being too handsome to be maimed. "Aye captain handsome. I shall make sure that I don't wreck your bread and butter." Gerard said with a laugh as he grinned from ear to ear. He really was having a good time. "As long as you promise not to touch mine. I don't know how happy the wife would be if I were to be deformed. I may not have a zanpakuto come tomorrow. She demands perfection you see." He said with a laugh. Oh shut up you silly man. And get your head back into the fight. This isn't over. Came the voice of his wife, echoing through his mind. Well I know that. I am merely having fun with the captain love. Don't worry. I know you'd love me either way.
As he reefed the chain he felt little resistance to it and he realized right away why, the man was coming at him with incredible speeds, using the pull combined with the leap to increase the speeds astronomically. As the man would spin against the binding of the chains they would loosen slightly from his arms, this was an unfortunate fact, though they were still attached it would be much easier for him to escape them. He had to think quickly and all he could think to do was move, get the hell out of the way of this guy. He jumped to the side, though the man was coming too fast, he felt him clip the side of his shoulder, and a loud pop echoed through the forest as he gritted his teeth, though he didn't stop for a second to let it slow him down. Instead as soon as he had passed Gerard, he dropped to his knees and he pulled as hard as he could, not to bring the man backwards, but to drive him downwards and into the ground, pulling the chain in a manor that would bring his arms back towards Gerard, and as such tight to Yasumeh's body, and his head coming down far before his legs. He felt the pain resound through his arm, he hadn't had the time to put reiatsu there to guard the shoulder, and if it had been any other man but Gerard, his shoulder would be busted to hell. But the man's muscles, even before infusing reiatsu were condensed to an armor like state. However, it had definitely dislocated the shoulder and his arm hung limp. As soon as he had pulled downwards on the chain he slammed his shoulder into the ground, another loud pop shooting through the air as he jammed it back into place. He growled out in pain as he did, grinding his teeth together. God damn that did not feel nice.

Yasumeh felt his head connect and his momentum, while slowed, carried him nearly four more feet before a sudden tug of the chain tightened around one of his wrists, the rest of his arms able to have escaped during the spin. The pull sent him toppling head first towards the ground. Using his free hand to place before him he caught himself in a half roll coming to his feet with his back facing Gerard, maintaining his awkward as ever unconventional battle responses. Now was his chance though, he had connected with part of Gerard, he had guessed his arm do to their current positions and how his movement hadn't been completely stopped by the impact. With the chain around his one wrist he had taken away much of Gerard's range advantage, trying to keep the weapon occupied for most of the fight and, thus far, mostly succeeding.
Now was the time however to use the first bit of reiatsu he had the entire fight, his hand moved to grip the chain around his wrist, giving it a slight tug as he activated Hadou eleven. The talent caused a large flow of electrical current to flow down the chain to it's wielder and without sparing a moment he focused all his strength which far exceeded that of most captains simply do to his unarmed training, into pulling hard on the chain. He knew if he could disarm Gerard the spar would end, certainly a shame but none the less bringing a conclusion to their match.

As soon as Gerard had seen his opponent free one of his arms, he knew that the pull was not going to work, though it was too late now to stop himself from doing it. He watched the man catch himself with one hand and roll forwards, keeping his staggering battle-stance. He smiled brightly, it had been a very good fight thus far, and he had really learned a lot about this captain. He liked him to say the very least. Yasumeh was not only a strong, smart man, but he was a kind and compassionate one. He could have attacked him toward the groin earlier in the match but purposely threw the punch higher so that he would not be rude or excessive in the fight. He grinned as he stood there, holding his chain. The shoulder that he had dislocated and popped back into place throbbed, but it wasn't all that bad. He took a deep breath as he watched the man holding part of his chain and he smiled, he knew what was going to happen, the same thing that had been happening all fight. His real weakness. Something he had to work out between him and his weapon. The damned chain. He knew that in his Bankai state it was different, but that wasn't what this was about. He would rarely ever use the bankai state, and as such he had to find a way to get around this tug-of-war bullshit that was bound to happen a lot in his fighting career. Hell, it HAD happened a lot.
He watched as the man pushed his reiatsu through the chain, the electric current rushing through his weapon, he felt every bit of it before he was even in contact, feeling it through his zanpakuto. He smirked and he countered, pushing his own reiatsu into the chain, amplifying it through his own weapon and sending the same hadou back. The two could meet and greet in the middle of the chain and a flash would occur as the electricities would cancel each other out. He felt however the immense tug on his chain that followed and he smiled as he merely tossed the kama into the air and allowed him to rip it towards him. He lazily grinned and bowed to the man with a laugh. "Yasumeh, you are a powerful foe. And I can tell already a great man and teacher. Those of your students who take a keen eye of this fact are bound to become unstoppable." He said with a grin. What are you doing!? You still have so much fight left in you! Why are you stopping now? His wife growled angrily into his mind as he stood there. Because, the spar is over. It was a good warm up, got my blood pumping, and I am feeling worked up. I don't want to continue the match, it was very sufficient already, and it gave me a good learning experience as well as insight into a Captain, and hopefully...soon a friend. He responded with a smile as he began to walk towards Yasumeh. He outstretched his hand, not for his weapon but for a hand shake. "I truly hope me and you get to see much more of each other." He said with a grin.

Yasumeh smiled wide, his posture returning to normal. The new captain had tried to best him in close combat and while he had striken him a real fight would not be won that way with such a weapon. None the less he respected him for pushing himself, seeing how he knew taking the risk at such a range would likely teach him more than if he where to play to his strengths. "Same to you, I'm sure you're students are going to enjoy your creativity when it comes to their Zanpaktou". He knew now how to use and where to place Garard's squad if such a time for war came again during his leadership of the 6th.
Yasumeh took his hand, gripping it tightly before returning his Zanpaktou to him. His on the other hand had never been drawn, the lazy spirit sleeping until it was absolutely necessary to come out. It was a bother certainly, even more so in it's Bankai state where it actually made him weaker until he fought without it for a bit. That though was not a fact he had to reveal as the times he had unleashed it had garnered few if any witnesses. He almost envied the relationship Gerard spoke of with his blade knowing that his own and him almost worked against each other as much as they worked together but that truly it was merely a reflection of himself.

The goal throughout his fight had been to keep himself playing Yasumeh's game instead of staying at his own range for the entire fight, though he was sure if he had stayed at his own range, a lot of the time he could have just been pulled in by the man anyways. He knew the weapon's strengths, but he had not had the chance to fight an overwhelming number of people with Yasumeh's level of skill nor strength, he needed to see what it was like to be at the most disadvantageous situation with his weapon that he could be, and he knew that Yasumeh was the man to teach him such things. And he had learned an infinite amount about his weapon that he was grinning to take it to a blacksmith and have it slightly altered. He knew precisely what the weaknesses were, and he knew exactly how to fix it. I suppose if I implement that change...I won't need to have a new chain put on every time I go into Bankai either. He thought with a smile. "I thank you for your kind words." He said with a smile, shaking the man's head sturdily as he looked off into the horizon. "I suppose I should get back to my squad. I am supposed to have that new lieutenant. Perhaps she has gotten there by now and I can say hello. As for you Natsuki! Don't fear. You're the one who has my heart. my lieutenant won't take it from you deary!" He called up, turning back to Yasumeh with a joking wink that he hoped Natsuki would not see. What is that supposed to mean?! You stupid pig! Asami growled. Don't worry love, I am merely joking with the woman because she doesn't like the terms of endearment. It's fun. He said with a laugh back to her as he waved to the captain and Natsuki. "I shall see you soon Yasumeh. And again, it was a true pleasure." He said as he walked from the forest, heading for his own squad HQ.

As Gerard left Yasumeh stood, corking back up his sake gourd and washing his face off in a nearby stream so the foul smell of the stuff wouldn't wreak off him. He stood once clean and walked over to Natsuki and waited for her to come down now that the fight was over. He placed one hand on her head and messed up her hair, "I think he likes you Natsukun" he said adding the -kun- if for nothing more than to irritate her as he liked to see the rare occasion that she got flustered. An awkward silence passed after the joke, "Hmm... what now" he said pretending to forget that there was any paperwork awaiting him back at the office..

Kyanah landed at the edge of the scene. Her presence concealed so as to not interrupt anything. A grunt escaped from her lips as she saw one captain leaving and the other washing off. "It seems as if I have missed the action, how disappointing," she muttered softly to herself. She then walked towards the captain who had stayed. "You could come see me, or do paperwork, or train, or many things," she replied to his comment jokingly. A smile crossed her soft face and a wind rustled her hair, annoying her as she grabbed at it wildly. She peered around the area and at the man in front of her. "How are you captain?" she said kindly after tidying her hair.

Yasumeh's eyes caught Kyanah's as she joked about giving him work, likely knowing or at least being familiar with his nature, he held back a grimace. "Yes you did, just a training session is all. Figured I should get a handle on what some of the other captains capabilities where should we loose our fortunate circumstances" he said referring to the calm that had overtaken soul society for the past few years. Sitting down cross legged and drying his face he smiled, "I'm doing quite well now that most of the paper works done, thanks in part to my lieutenant of course" he proclaimed gesturing to Natsuki. Yasumeh breathed the air in deep, the refreshing scent from the bamboo having a serene calming effect to compliment it's serenity when not being used for training.
"And yourself? Getting out of the office enough I would hope"

Kyanah sighed running her fingers through her hair a few times, "Getting out enough? Yes, I am but I don't seem to have anything to do outside of my office. Things are so quiet it almost seems boring. Paperwork is fairly quick to get done and there isn't much else to do." her voice was bored and lazy as she spoke of work, knowing it was needed but oh so very quiet. She sat down in front of him looking up at the sky. She smiled a slight smile as she took in its wide blue beauty. "Has the quiet bored you as well?" she asked, still looking up at the sky.

Yasumeh sighed, "Not really. Violence and times of war or conflict can be exciting and fill a man heart with meaning, but they tear their minds apart. Whatever happened to me while I was alive I feel left enough scars to last me the rest of my existence here, adding to them is not on my list of priorities lest the alternative is allowing such unrest on another's mind" he said knowing how little he actually slept, preferring instead to simply drown himself in alcohol each night to the point his mind could not dream up the terrible nightmares it produced when he was unable to do so. Such rest had eluded him since death and he feared learning the cause, wondering what he had done in life that earned such chaos of his mind yet preferring to remain ignorant of it lest the truth make things worse. "Besides, that's why I spent so much of our squad's income on luxuries... I can keep my mens blades sharp and their will to fight strong but it is these... distractions, that keeps them from seeking trouble we needn't bring on those we protect"

Kyanah looked at Yasumeh as he spoke. Her lips pursed as she nodded in agreement. War wasn't exactly what she had meant but obviously this man had seen so much of it that it haunted his thoughts. "I know how bad war is, I just meant that NOTHING seems to be happening. There is nothing new to go and investigate or strange people popping up that need dealing with, nothing. I just wish for a little bit of excitement, even for a Squad 12 research project to go horribly wrong and go running rampant about Soul Society making small mischief." the small woman turned her head as she began to drift off in the thought of some mutant wolf going around turning people strange colors and began to giggle slightly.

Ginkou fell his observant eyes among the captains that were gathered in that small spot. He rarely left the research building so to him these captains were new to him. He sighed as he then peered in a notebook he was carrying. " ........." He also was here because he needed a break and left his captain to her own devices. With him being one of the smartest shinigami only surpassed by his captain, he was fittingly known as ' The Phantom Lieutenant of Squad 12' only because he never left the research lab. He stood hidden by masking his spiritual pressure, writing down what he could see and hear.

Kano flash stepped behind the Head Captain, his hand rubbing his forehead. He didn't even notice the second Captain standing there,"Was that necessary?" When he finally looked away from the Head Captain, he noticed the other one and a surprised look crossed his face,"Captain Yasumeh, I didn't see you there. I take it the fighting is over then? Have fun?" A slight smirk splayed across Kano's face, giving him a very devilish look.

Ginkou noticed a fellow lieutenant enter the area they were. He hoped he he was not noticed. He quickly finished writing in his notebook and put it into his lab coat. He kept watch but this time mentally memorizing what he saw. "......"He placed his headphones on and a silent rumble came from them and he head banged to his music.
