Annabelle had highly respected his class as the years had drawn on, and each spell was increasingly more useful than the last had been. She’d taken a penchant for this particular spell, actually, and felt a small smile simmering on her lips at the chance to perfect its use once again. Heels clicked as she had risen from her seat and held her wand out in front of her. This spell had taken a few weeks of getting used to, and even now, she remained silent as she envisioned a deft, wide wooden shield with three points. ”Scutum!” Belle demanded with a bit of a smirk, and, though her wand did transform into a shield, it was nowhere near as large as she had hoped it would be.

Now, this year we’re going to review for your NEWTS, we’re going to begin today with a spell created by a famous alchemist in the late seventh century, Scutum,

“This spell will actually transform your wand into a shield with a simple incantation, SKEW-dum, and there is no need for wand movement, the focus of this spell is entirely dependent on concentration and focus, and as such, this spell has had many reported findings that its strength and skill actually increase in dire and stressful situations. Once you’ve copied your notes, I’d like for you all to give it a go.”

Second Lesson: Review Frango Frigus

After a short break, Angel entered his classroom with a whimsical hop to his step and an apple in his hand. With the wave of his wand, the directions for the days lesson appeared on the blackboard located at the front of the classroom.

William walked into the class, the usual bored expression he wore on his face. He enjoyed this class however. Because the teacher was a good teacher, and this was definitely an area that interested him. He sat down in his seat, not saying a word until the teacher began to speak. After his directions, he went to work. He looked at a chunk of ice he had laying in front of him. He then pointed his wand at the target, flicked up the wand to point to the sky, and brought it down upon the target. As he was doing this the incantation 'Frango Frigus" sounded. At the end of the incantation, the ice shattered into pieces. Little small shards to be exact. It was quite interesting, but he was sure he would have to use it at some point, due to the preciseness of Alchemy.

Third Lesson: Expono Spell
╚══════════════╝

As the professor of alchemy entered the classroom, he ushered a simple wave of his wand to create a flutter of his handwriting to appear on the chalkboard at the front of the class. Striding diligently across the rows of desks and chairs, Angel reached the front of his class and turned to meet his students. ”Welcome back.

“Now, unbeknownst to many alchemists, the true reasons behind the study of alchemy was not only for science, but for spiritual ambition as well. Alchemists believe that there is a quintessence, where the Above can be created in the Below, thus, heaven on earth in spirit and mind. So, with that in mind, there was only a very small percentage of alchemists true to the ideal of discovering the truth of alchemy, which is why in ancient texts, it can be impossible to discern which ingredients is being used because of the basic, generic terms used for each items.

“All of this was to dissuade the callous and greedy of heart from discovering the truths behind alchemy, and it’s because of those paranoid wizards that we have spells like Expono to help identify what type of man you may be dealing with during experiments and such,

“This spell is quite exhausting and requires a keen sense of mind, but the wand movements and pronunciation are quite simple in comparison. A simple and gently tap the left temple of their head once with your wand, and then guide the tip down the towards the heart without touching the victim as you recite the incantation, ex-poe-NU.

The trick is to imagine yourself in the darkness, you can't see who your facing, but you know they're there, so use every bit of information you've ever seen or heard from them to help shift their body into the form that best represents their motives, their ambition in life, the animal, the color, the feeling that best describes them. All of this, will lead you to an illusion cast over the victim that's intricately tied to the one who cast the spell. It's always hard to decipher the meaning of these illusions, because of that fact. It's very rare for the same outcome to appear when two different wizards practice the spell on the same target, so, you'll have to feel it in your guts to understand. Because everyone's perception of good, and evil, and love and hate is very, very different. Which is what makes this spell very controversial in modern day times.

"Now, I would like you to take your chance on me, so you can adequately see the effects and outcome of this spell, honestly, words alone simply can't justify it.”

Amanda walked into her first class of the year and her only class of the day. Thank God it's not a morning class, she thought, still kind of tired. After all, this was usually the time she woke up during the summer. The blonde really had to get back to the school schedule especially if she didn't want to sleep in and miss class tomorrow. When class began, Amanda actually managed to pay attention. Maybe it was only because she wanted to do well in this class. After all, it was one of the classes she liked most, and she only got an E on the OWL at the end of her fifth year. After she copied the notes, Amanda stood up from her seat and pulled out her wand. "SKEW-dum," she said clearly, staring intently on the wooden stick in her hand. A small smirk crawled to the right side of her mouth as nothing seemed to happen. C'mon, she thought, taking a moment to clear her thoughts. "SKEW-dum," she said once again after a moment of silence. The second time around, the wand transformed into a shield.

Now, I’ve summoned two one liter blocks of ice to appear at your desk into two different measured beakers. For one glass, I’d like you to practice this spell, and for the other, I would like you to use the hot air charm to melt the ice, that way you can see the difference of evaporated water.”

Strolling in, the professor glided his wand towards the board causing the days lesson to appear. It was just a simple review, and he only had Miss Davis for this class. So he decidedly sat back and waited, eager to see if she would need any help along the way, but was quite confident that she would be fine.
