Kinja had been one of the Ones guarding the hongshun. She was there more to keep tempers and discussions in check on both sides. The amount of time if was taking though for her grandson and his mate to return was beginning to worry her. Surely they couldn't be gone this long without a fair reason.
The roar of a lion caught the old lionesses attention. Weaving through the guards Kinja hurried to see what was going on. Her blue eyes caught sight of those returning and it was quite obvious there was something wrong. Injuries! There had been a battle!
As medics were called for Kinja took note of Kidondo and No amongst the group. Kidondo was tending to his own grandson while No obviously was looking to get an idea of the prides movements As they swarmed like bees out of a hive.
Licking her maw, Kinja moved through the crowds quickly. Stopping under No's choSen rock Kinja called up to the Regent. "No!" pausing for a moment Kinja decided to join the lioness on the rock. She came up beside the dark lioness. "we had a situation of our own here. More hongshun found their way to the pride."

The large black lioness, Azar had been spending her time in her den. She was with her son, Kakek, and her grandchildren. She enjoyed lazy days that she could just spend with her family. So far despite the looming troubles of the pride, with a drought and cubs, it had been a nice day. She had recently went up in rank and she was enjoying her new responsibilities. Today however she was taking some time to herself to spend with her family... That is until she heard the sound of voices outside, a lot of voices she was confused and a little concerned of what was going on.
She brought herself to her paws and turned toward her son. "Come on Kakek, little ones stay here." She looked at them with a soft smile before she started to trot toward the commotion. She was curious of what was going on. She was hoping what ever it was, wasn't going to get out of control. She didn't feel like dealing with too many others. She slowed down pushing herself through the crowds of lions, there were calling for medics and she was concerned of who was hurt. Then she saw her father and her mother. A pang of worry hit her chest, they both seemed okay. But then she saw the other form. She took a moment taking the markings in before she started to sprint forward to meet her parents. And her son.
"NUR'YU." She shouted moving as quickly as possible before reaching her father and looking between her and her son. The normally pretty even tempered female had rage in her eyes, suddenly she was more firey than normal. No one hurt her children. "What happened?" She demanded from her father standing up straight before moving to tend to her son.
When his mother started to show some concern Kakek did too. He wasn't that sure of what ever was going on but he knew it was better if he followed after his mother. He knew very well that his mom could take care of herself but that didn't mean he worried about her when she ran into the direction of a crowd of lions. He nudged his cubs before trotting out of the den looking around. It seemed as though every lion in the pride was interested in this. He looked around glancing at the other lions before pausing turning his attention forward. "What is going on?" He asked, that was when he heard the cries for a medic. His mother then took off.
What was it? He followed trying to weave through the lions and quickly as possible bumping into a few as he dashed through the crowd. He was looking around, his mother was already by the other lion, which turned out to be his brother. He too was worried and not as quickly followed behind his mother quietly keeping an eye and an ear out. He felt helpless and he wanted to know what he could do.
Medics!? That sound was both worry some and exciting for Seraphina. To begin at the moment she had no idea where Ea was. Not only that although she knew some basics she wasn't sure how prepared she was to take on an actual patient. She had practiced a lot but it was a terrifying thing to her! Yet at the same time being able to take care of some one was just as exciting. The lioness rushed to her feet looking around and grabbing her neck pouch and slipped it around her neck. She looked at the lioness that came to get her and she nodded. "Going!" She squeaked before she started to run as quickly as she could then the hurt lions caught her attention. "oh god." She almost squeaked, there were a few and she didn't know what to think. She had leaves and some roots she was hoping that what she had would be enough.
"Medic coming through!" She said as she, as politely as she could, pushed her way through the crowds and then looked toward the hurt lions. Where was she supposed to go?

It did not take long for the alarm to rise up, giving news of their coming and Kidondo looked up to see familiar faces rushing across the sand towards them. He spotted Kalama - for she was in the lead - followed closely by Nuria who addressed him with a question.
"Many." He replied, noting her glance at his grandson who was panting and seemingly losing strength in his legs. "Many are wounded. Some more than others." He looked up as his mate, No, moved ahead and ordered for the aid of medics. Grateful for that, he turned his attention back to Nuria again. "I'm no medic, I'm afraid, but some are sporting grave wounds indeed." He knew little about battle wounds himself but he thought it likely that even some of the Firekin walking on their own paws were more wounded than they were letting on. But the alarm was beginning to spread through the pride and he sensed the panic begin to set in as they drew nearer and the wounded became more apparent to those who had been waiting for news. Unfortunately he currently had his paws tied up with seeing to his grandson, though it seemed No was doing an efficient job at calming the ranks.
"Clear the way. Let the wounded through." He called out as he moved on again, giving his grandson a little encouragement before he took the first step. Thankfully at that moment Morag brushed past to shoulder Nur'yu into a more secure position and he gave her a gruff sound of acknowledgement. She was badly wounded herself. That eye would need tending.
"We're almost there." He spoke again to Nur'yu, wishing that the young lion would speak or show some sign of alertness. He didn't like the lack of response from him. Not one little bit. He got some more weight under him and pretty much dragged him the last few paces, breathing harshly as exhaustion began to set in. And then his daughter was there and he looked up to meet her fiery gaze. "Azar..." He blinked, folding his ears back against his head. "There has been an attack on one of our patrols." It had been a mixed group that time, in an attempt to complete many jobs at once. He opened his mouth to say more when Nur'yu gave a strangled cry and sank to the sand, almost taking Kidondo down with him.
"Medic!" He snapped, eyes wild as he sought his other daughter amongst the crowd. He stepped aside to give Nur'yu some room and shook his head apologetically. "I'm so sorry, Azar. They were taken by surprise."
And Nur'yu had never been a fighter...

The mood was very grim as Yayuka followed behind the regents, and vaguely noted that medics were coming. He watched as more and more firekin seemed to spring from the sands, and briefly wondered if he had ever seen so many gathered together. It was a little strange. But this was hardly a time to muse over such things, and so he limped along. The sand irritated his paw, and all he wanted was water to wash it off...
But that wasn't going to happen. Water was being rationed, and even if offered Yayuka would never waste it for such things. No, he was sure a good medic could clean it up properly.
Nur'yu hit the floor, and, though he barely knew the lion, Yayuka felt extremely concerned as he made his way over. Then he glanced back at the others, and his heart sank. Many of them seemed awful... Though he wasn't so well off himself, the gray lion turned and headed back, to make sure no one was left behind.
Kalama was the first to reach Kidondo, but found herself only capable of letting him and the other walk by as she frowned, assessing the damage. How could this have happened? She growled at no one in particular, whirling around to re-locate Regent Kidondo as he dragged a black lion, and then said black lion sank to the floor. She stepped a bit closer, though she didn't want to intrude.
She wouldn't say it out loud, but Kalama thought Nur'yu might die. She frowned. Then she remembered the Hongshan, and decided the Regents should know. Or at least one of them should. She left Kidondo and his kin, and headed for No, instead, since she wasn't burdened by an injured grandchild. The red lioness waited a few moments before speaking. "Regent No, this may not be the best of times." She acknowledged. "But another group of Hongshan has appeared." She said, and motioned in the direction where they were being held. The red lioness kept her voice low, intending for only the regent to hear, to not alarm the rest of the group that had arrived. "One has been accused of being Nergui." Which was the main issue, Kalama figured.
Moto'spaki nodded up at Elcca, both to acknowledge her and agree with the suggestion to move Miah, then returned to watching the group as they got closer, and were met by more firekin. From where they were, they probably still could not see the new Hongshan group, neither could Spaki identify who exactly was wounded, and how badly they were wounded. He could make out a lion sinking into the sand, and then he decided he best stop watching.
The white lion headed back down from his vantage point, towards the Hongshan once more. He would busy himself with them instead. He sat down to keep an eye on them, and noticed they seemed nervous. He didn't blame them, but wondered if he should fill them in.

Thabiti licked his wounded paws now that the native had them on lockdown in the Red Quarter. Miah has been kept under watch as well which eased his mind, allowing him to relax. The blood from his paws were dried and caked onto fur, sand clung like annoying pests between his digits. His focus was among his group. Ukuba, Isifo, and Tswana. They have been with him the longest and it was his better intent to keep them within his company. They were his community and the support for his stability. Rather not fly off the handle like when he got caught. "Ig 'k baot rak karkour it, 'srauo 'k. Wo laeqo M'ael ka kl'rx aedaik aerb aiu avr taegokv.? If it does not concern us, ignore it. We have Miah to think about and our own safety. Thabiti hissed as a wound opened during his cleaning process. Looking at it with disdain, "Tlaisl, vo tlairb xoov aiu oaeut avor." Though, we should keep our ears open.

With so much going on around the pride, it was amazing that Nawvlee had successfully avoided it completely until it came looking for him specifically. After her outburst in the face of the latest group of Hongshan to find the Firekin, Roho had gone to find Nawvlee. His mind was a blur throughout her whole story- he wanted to rejoice in knowing more of their friends, their family had escaped and even found their way to them.. but even before Roho explained her suspicions, he knew something was wrong.
Before everybody else, Nawvlee trusted Roho. He took her concerns very seriously and while he would have liked to go finish what she started, he knew better. He had to consider all of the circumstances, from the pride they were still barely more than guests in to the fact there were indeed more Hongshan safely returned. Unfortunately, it was impossible not to come into the situation without some bias- especially when he arrived with Roho close behind, just in time to hear it:
There has been an attack on one of our patrols.
A careful, calculating look on his face, he glanced back to his companion. He looked back to the frantic gathering of Firekin, purposefully keeping his distance and trying not to draw attention to himself and Roho. Could it be a coincidence that such a thing had happened when more Hongshan returned with a suspected Nergui? The Firekin would certainly blame the Hongshan, it was more important now than ever that he proceed with cautiously. His ears twitched when he heard the words Hongshan and Nergui, his eyes searching the crowd for the source, ultimately settling on No.

The dark lioness grunted her reply to the regent as he took on his grandson, noting that her own vision was starting to gray around the edges. Was that a symptom of blood loss? Had she lost too much?
Blinking her good eye rapidly, her head suddenly spinning, Morag came to a stop and sank back on her haunches, staring down at the sands of her homeland in an effort to clear the fuzziness from her mind. All around, she could hear shouting and concerned voices, and then... a cry nearby snapped her head up, which was clearly a mistake as the world spun a dance around her.
"The outpost was attacked..." She managed to growl out. "Tried to help. We beat them off, but..." It was hard to say who exactly she was speaking to, if not the world at large. Spread the word, yes... she had to report on what happened... wasn't that what soldiers did? The black female found herself regretting the path she had chosen, now, at a loss for what she should be doing even as the fuzziness seemed to make the world go soft around her.

Ute was concerned. Mostly only because she couldn't see clearly from her post. She stood up on her hind legs; trying to see more clearly but could not. She sat down, looking a bit disgruntled that she had no idea what was going on. She looked to the dark male Thabiti; and to his wounds. She felt bad that no one had tended to them. She watched him for a moment, not really aware that she was staring at him. Perhaps the sound of their language was distracting.
She startled herself to look away from him, looking towards the commotion. She didn't like how it sounded... they distraught. She hoped her grandparents were alright. She began to dance around anxiously like her comrade had not long ago

Ea arrived on scene with the usual amount of expletives, no doubt attempting to scare the poor female who had been sent to get them. Nuria was it? Ea didn't care. Instead, she stomped a circle around the sand muttering words that didn't exist in any language, but were surely intended to summon something foul. Her fur was on end. "ONE AT A TIME," She bellowed, her strong, wild voice carrying over the frenzy. "Vlam, take Nur'yu back to the dens. Seraphina, look at Morag!"
Ever her shadow, the large white male moved over towards the struggling lion draped across Kidondo's back. The regent was surely capable of shouldering the burden, but the trek wasn't an easy one. And it showed. Vlam grasped Nur'yu by the scruff of his neck to reposition him back on Kidondo. Once he was stabilized, he ducked underneath- changing the weight so that the grey lion fell onto his. Vlam had no words, but a snort, separating the regent from his grandson in time for Ea to approach.
The wild cat bussed about the pair, her wild eyes glowering at just about everyone who met hers. She needed more hands. She snapped around and looked about at the crowd- signaling out two that were nearby. "You! Singh, get over here. Kakek! Help carry your brother to the wards!"
---
No was about to shout at her daughter for doing exactly what she had said not to do- when she was accosted by Kinja and Kalama. More Hongshan? What were they... the black cat paused, as if the words had already set off a venerable explosion of ideas and conclusions that flashed before her eyes. A low growl seethed up from the black cat's throat. "I find it hard to believe that the two are unconnected."
For a moment, her eyes shot down towards Kidondo. He was still attending to their grandson. He could attend for both of them then.
"We have a Nergui?" she said, her voice oddly light. Perhaps dangerously so. She noted Nawvlee in the crowd. It seemed there would be some explaining to do. "Well, I'd be very interested to see what he has to say then! Bring him here."
---
Elsewhere, Elcca moved from the rock. "I suspect the time to move is now. A prisoner is no good if he's dead and I doubt the firekin will be very amiable once they learn it was an attack from the north. Towards Hongshan and Nergui."
Her tail curled, and she began speaking the quick, guttural tongue of the north. "You may have no love for Nergui, but information is priceless. We should leave the quarter and go to the medical wards, where they are less likely to strike out."
Miah hummed from where he sat. "If there has been an attack, surely they are more informed than I."
The seeress smiled. "I doubt they will be coming for information."

Nawvlee knew from the look on No's face, even without being able to hear her growl, that she came to the same dangerous conclusions he had. The Hongshan already had a delicate standing in the pride, the situation was growing more serious by the minute and it was becoming even more important for him to keep it together while staying informed. When No called for the accused Nergui to be brought out, he moved around the crowd to get a better view. While he made sure to stay out of the medics' way, he showed no concern for what they were doing as he repositioned himself for what was more important to him.
His face was unreadable but many questions were going through his mind. The most serious of which being when he saw the stranger, would he be as certain as Roho of his identity?

Azar knew very well that she wasn't handling the situation very well. Most of the time she handled herself perfectly fine in these situations, but now she was angry, not only was she angry but she wanted to destroy what ever she could because her son was hurt. She looked up to her father and she calmed a little, she was still very upset. She moved close to her son looking him over. He didn't look like he was in good shape at all. It wasn't a little scrape that he used to come to her with when he was a younger lion. She was overwhelmed with emotions and most of all she either just wanted to kick some butt or help out her son. "An attack?" She asked her father before pausing and looking down at her at her son. She didn't understand why he tried to fight if he did. She bit her lip as she looked down at him. "It's alright dad." She stated before turning toward him. "It's not your fault."
She glanced as her sister headed toward Nur and she nodded to her. "Take care of him." She said simply. No matter how much she wanted to go and help she wasn't any good at medicine. She didn't know what she was doing when it came to that. She knew that she couldn't do anything however she was a fighter and held a leadership role in the pride and she needed to help out. She quickly snapped her attention back toward her dad. "Give me something to do." she half demanded trying to pull herself into her role as a Brigadier instead of a mother, she needed to focus.
It was hard for Kakek to watch and not to feel anger swell up inside of him. He had never seen his mother act like this. But now, to a point, he could understand her temper flaring up at the moment. It was hard to also keep himself calm. He knew he had to though and he knew a good start was to keep calm and wait to see what was going to happen, stand by and wait to be told. He knew there was a lot going on in the pride right now but it was a question of who did it. He looked around from lion to lion. Who could it have been. Whoever they were, they were powerful and judging by the damage that they had done, they knew what they were doing. These strange new lions had something to do with it. He stared off a sneer on his lips as he did that was his attention was caught by a shout from his aunt.
His attention quickly turned to her and with a nod he quickly moved toward his brother and Vlam. He moved to the other lions side and then spoke quickly. "I'm going to grab half of him." He mentioned as he pushed his brothers back legs and pulled them over his body, he stood next to the other male and nodded. "We have to move together but we got this." He said quickly he wanted to get there as fast as he could. "Lets go?"
There were so many lions! She didn't know what to do with herself. She never really understood why everyone had to gather for events like this. Especially since they weren't good events. She waited for a command, some kind of command and that was when she heard the familiar shouts of Ea. Yes... shouts. she turned her attention to her teacher before nodding and looking for the lioness that Ea told her to take care of. Confidence overwhelmed the lioness and with that she was off.
At first she wasn't sure which was Morag however she quickly figured it out as she saw a lioness sit on the ground. She didn't seem like she was thinking clearly and she was bleeding... a lot. She swallowed and then moved quickly to the lioness. "Morag?" She spoke loudly and clearly. "Can you hear me?" She asked as she moved to the side of the lioness. "If you can, I want to move you out of the way so I can look at you, can you do that?" She was trying to speak as clearly as she could. She wasn't sure what kind of condition the lioness was in but she needed ot find out.

She hadn't even noticed Kinja when she approached No, and might have been amused about their similar message. It was even a little embarrassing, so she offered the older lioness a short, half-apologetic nod.
Kalama pondered the possibility that she may have suggested too strongly that Miah was Nergui. It wasn't a certainty, only one lioness had really accused him of such a thing. His companions hadn't reacted well, which at least confirmed they didn't trusted him so much, either. She opened her mouth, perhaps to say so, but instead, the only words that came out were. "Very well. I will go fetch him." She turned, and began to head back towards where she had left the others. She glanced at Nawvlee as she passed, then continued on her way, picking up her pace.
The red lioness didn't take long to appear once again over the barrier that separated the Hongshan captives from the rest, and trotted almost casually down the slope. Realizing she might have been the first of those who left to come back, she spoke, raising her voice. "An outpost was attacked." She said bluntly, so the lions here, separated from the rest, better understood what was going on. "Several are hurt. One couldn't walk on his own, looked pretty bad. One of Kidondo and No's kin." She didn't say who, exactly, because Kalama honestly didn't know the lion's name, or his exact relation to the regents.
Then she motioned to where Miah was kept. "No wants to speak with him." She said, oblivious to any plans to move the 'prisoner'. Not wasting much time, she headed over to the dark lion. "You will come with me." She told him, bluntly. "Who else is coming?" Here she addressed the others, though many had already went to see what was going on. She needed at least one more, perhaps two, to make sure that Miah didn't escape and, perhaps most importantly, wasn't killed by any angry firekin jumping to conclusions.
Kalama herself was a hot-headed lioness who was always ready for a fight. But she was good at doing her duty, and right now, Miah needed to speak with No. That was it.
At this point, after limping about and bleeding for what felt like a respectable enough amount of time, Yayuka decided he, too, could sit down. So he did, holding his injured paw up gingerly against his chest. The gray lion was vaguely aware of all that was going on around him, and he kept his good, not-destroyed ear perked to try and listen to what was being said.
It didn't take him long to figure out he was somehow out of the look, despite having been directly involved. He sighed, feeling a little lightheaded, and distractedly licking at his paw. The medics could attend to others first. He could deal. At least for a few more minutes.
She listened to Thabiti, and forced herself to calm down for a few moments, as she settled beside the other lion. But soon enough, Tswana spoke again. "Ik daev karkour it." It may concern us. She said, as she watched the red, angry-looking lioness appear once more. She could make out some words, and understood there had been an attack. Something about injury, several lions, or something. Then the lioness went past them and approached Miah instead, which immediately had Tswana glaring.
This certainly was not good.
Sjari, in the meantime, remained perfectly silent, as he had for some time now. Even when Miah had been accused, he had remained quiet. The black lion watched the world, wanting to avoid interaction with it. He did have a somewhat haunted expression to him, like a lion who had seen a ghost, and hadn't slept for days because of it. Who knows, perhaps that was exactly what had happened.

Kosuke felt the brush and gently shoved back. He spared a glance at the red-orange fire that was his brother's coat, then turned his eyes to Morag. "She needs help, Ali..." He then went over, gently pressing his shoulder against his daughter's shoulder. "Come, Morag, lean on me." If Shula was going to refuse help, that was well and good. She was showing her pride as a Firekin, after all. But since Morag was making no protests, by all rights, he was going to have his offspring lean on him. He saw Seraphina approach, then groomed the dark lioness' ear. "Help is here, Morag.. She has the right idea, we should get you out of the way... Maybe in the shade..." He shot a glance at Shula, hoping she'd come, too.
He didn't question, just obeyed. Quickening his pace, Singh hurried over to Ea. "What do you wish me to do, Medic Ea?" His back was twitching, no doubt from the flies trying to bite at his wounds. But he continued to put them out of his mind, placing the needs of the many before his own. His eyes fell on Morag, before they returned to the black cat in front of him. "Should I start with Morag, or Yayuka, or maybe finding bandages of some sort?" Something, anything.
Shula spared her niece a glance, worry in her eyes, before limping for the main dens. She didn't get far, finding herself blocked by two of her children. "Keahilani, Soleil... Move." All she wanted at this point was to go lay down, rest, nap, and recover. Two of her children seemed determined to not let her do that.
The blood red lioness glared, grinding her paws into the sand. "We are NOT moving until you're seen by a medic!" She then began ushering the older lioness, directing her back toward Ea, Singh, Kakek, and the others. "Even if they just bandage you up, it'll make us feel better!"
Keahilani started to follow, before stopping, processing the information. He soon came to the same conclusion No and Nawvlee had. These incidents weren't unrelated. He let out a low growl, turning and hurrying over to Kidondo. "Regent Kidondo..." His voice had become graveled from the talking he'd done earlier, the surest sign of his usually quiet facade. "Has anybody yet informed you of the group of Hongshan from the north? A new group? With a suspected Nergui? He was already suspected of being a spy, but this is too much of a coincidence that as a group comes across the Spine, the southern outpost is attacked..." He gave a snort, ears back. "The Nergui is being guarded by Ute and Moto'spaki right now."

((wanted to quote as direct interaction between mine and your soa)) Ute spotted the lioness approaching and stood attentively and nervously. Her head bobbed around on her shoulders until Kalama acme closer and spoke. Ute looked around and then met the gaze of the dark lion. "I will assist you. I need to see my family... see who was hurt." She said; as her family was all there... and someone HAD been hurt. She was very nervous of who. She looked to the other guards and gave them nods before stepping up beside Kalama and Miah.

As she followed a couple of paces behind, Nuria had to admit Ea had an extremely impressive vocabulary of foul language at her disposal. Sands, she wasn't sure some of those curses were even words, but they sounded vitriolic enough to suit their purpose. And she'd have to remember that one for use later...and maybe that one...oooh, and that one was good... Right. Focus. Patrol attacked, wounded lions, suspicious circumstances. With the way things were going, she might get to try some of those new curses out sooner than she might have wanted. She fell back as Ea approached the wounded and began barking orders, feeling unsure and hating the feeling. "Need me for anything?" More likely than not she would just be needed to get out of the way, but wandering away from the head medic when there was a crisis seemed like a bad idea.
