Never liked LotR... Just cause its the first doesnt make it the best. And 'A Wrinkle in Time' is technically fantasy. Just not so many of the cliche associations.

I don't think it's the best either, but I think it's something every fantasy fan should read. It was the first modern fantasy book and now a big part of pop culture.

1. The Abahorson series they are the best 2. The Naming 3. Howl's Moving Castle 4. The Wind Singer and the sequal The Mastery of the Slaves, and the third Firesong 5. His Dark Materials 6. East 7. The wizard series you know So you want to be a wizard and so on 8. Eragon and it's sequal The Eldest 9. Inkheart and Inkspell 10. The Cry of Icemark They are not in order because I kept thinking of good ones that I liked better then ones I had already put

FaeDreamer Oh gosh, it's like picking my favorite child or something...but here's the ones I've read the most: 1) heart Beauty and also Rose Daughter heart by Robin McKinley (I can't choose...I've read them both more times than I can count) 2)Protector of the Small books 1-4 by Tamora Pierce (If you were expecting single books think again lol) 3)Sabriel by Garth Nix 4)So You Want to be a Wizard by Diane Duane (although I hate the series after book 3...my fiance loves it though...) 5)The Enchanted Forest Chronicles books 1-4 by Patricia Wrede (Yah...it's another series) 4laugh Hee! I loved the Garth Nix Over the Wall series! I think Lirael was more interesting than Sabriel though. Also, ANYTHING Tamora Pierce writers kicks a** XD

Shiama A lot of these sound familiar. i have read the Diane Duane books but dont remember some parts of it since it was so long ago, but I love the Tamora Pierce books. I like the title of Rose Duaghter, do you have any more information on it? and the last one, abou t the enchanted forest sounds familiar, and i still have to read Sabriel, it is on my list anyways razz Rose Daughter by Robin McKinley is a Beauty and the Beast re-telling, and a good book. I forget what's different or similar to the tale about it (haven't read it in a looooong time), but I know that I liked it.
