[EVENT] Hide and seek - Open!

[Syrius Lionwing]

Ulsbolo looked at the other bird, her bright green eyes curiously fixed on the other female. "Wassat? I'm hunting here." She raised a brow and flickers her wings. "Are all of these leopards hunting mice too?" She questions.

"They all seem pretty intent, I didn't even know leopards liked to chase mice, I thought they were a bit small for them."

As birds arrived, the leopardess couldn't help smiling. "Oh, thank you, little birds!" She paused. "And big birds..." As she looked around a fallen stone, she heard Caius' question. "No, they don't do this normally... This is the first time they've done THIS!" She took a seat, trying not to cry out of frustration. "Ooooh, how could I screw up this badly...?"

She was really beating her self up over this. The male could only stay and help to make sure the cubs were alright. He felt like he was running after something that was getting further and further away. No cubs had turned up yet. Caius swallowed the hard facts and let the female have a few comforting words.

"Its alright. I'm sure they will turn up. We all screw up some times?" Okay so maybe the last bit had turned out to be more awkward and probably unneeded. It would take Caius a few moments before he realized maybe he shouldn't have said that bit. He was trying to help and failing pretty bad.  

[Tanakako]

His ears folded back as the area swiftly became crowded with bodies looking for the cubs. Surely with so many eyes, the little cubs couldn't escape for long... but he had already offered to help seek them out and as one of the pard's more skilled hunters, he knew many would expect him to pull his weight in this mini-crisis.. not that he believed the cubs were actually lost, more likely they were playing a game of tag or hide&seek and were laughing at the adults behind their backs.

Grumbling he padded further, slipping into the foliage to look for the little terrors in somewhat more overgrown areas.

 

[Feral Mule]

She had been walking by when she heard a cry for help. Her ears twitched and her whole body stiffened. Who was it? Were they in serious danger? She smelled a bunch of others around, but none of them seemed close. Letting her brows knit together, Maya took off towards the direction of the cry.

Her paws were swift, her mind racing. It sounded kind of small. But it could be a good distance away. It could be an adult asking for help for all she knew! The blue and star pelted female just hoped she could make it in time if it was serious trouble. What better way to make friends than to save their lives, after all? She was fighting through drowsiness, though, so she wasn't as fast as she wanted to be.

Yes, indeed! Thank you, little birdies. Though she didn't appreciate being referred to as a 'birdie', because it seemed childish and stupid, she figured cats were like that sometimes. They could say the most hurtful things. Like... like birdbrain. How awful! At least this one had the right intentions, and Mkichaa was getting her recognition.

Deciding she would enjoy being credited with locating one of the erroneous chicks, the bright colored avian flew up, then dove down once again, searching in a different spot. Nope, not behind the rock. Hmph, if she were a silly cat-chick, where would she be?

He began looking under stones, pushing the bushes out of the way. They truly had gone missing it seemed. What sort of hero was he if he couldn't find them? He tried to ease his self doubt, and push the thoughts from his mind. How selfish to be thinking of himself when there was someone who needed him out there.

"Anyone could have done it, I'm sure. We just need to find them." He tried to calm the leopardess, but he understood her fear.  

[Tanakako]

With no luck looking in the trees he paused and gazed about himself. The area was swarming now... becoming ever more claustrophobic to the ghost-like leopard, as he was a male who preferred solitude and silence to the noisy babble of voices currently drowning his thoughts right out of his head. Flattening his ears to try and cut down the cacophony that threatened to make his head ring, he slipped away through the leafy brush and north, aiming for a quieter spot where he knew ancient tree roots formed cub-sized holes where youngsters loved to play... maybe there would be there.

 

[Feral Mule]

Try as she might, she couldn't quite find whoever was calling for her. Her paws weren't keeping up with her mind. Now that she heard the call again, it seriously sounded like a cub. Brows knitting, she whimpered and looked around, calling out for it. "I'm coming! I can't find you! Keep calling!" her mind raced completely, looking this way and that. She didn't even know if anyone else was around.

"Please be okay, please be okay..." Whimpering a little more, her brows knitted as she took off in another direction.  

[Syrius Lionwing]

"Oh, missing cubs, well they are a bit large for eating." The golden bird flickers her wings and looks thoughtful. Well, she could assist in finding the babies. Her sharp eyes would be good for spotting them.

"You should keep better watch on your babies. Something could eat them." She huffs and spreads her wings jumping in to the sky to look for the lost cubbies.

This time she went a bit further from the temple, searching in a more tree-full area. She thought she might find one of these little thingies hiding under some... leaves, or ferns or something. Mkichaa was half resolved to call these little chicks brats. If she ever had chicks, and they went hiding like little dummies, she would call them brats. At least for a week.

So yes, brats they were. But they were silly little brats who needed her help! Sadly, as she shuffled about beneath a few leaves, she found that, again, no cubs were here. She squawked irritably, then hopped along to look somewhere else.

Caius continued nuzzling stones over and tearing through brush. Still not a small cub in sight. It seemed others were also having the same issue of coming up cubless. Part of Caius was prepared for the worst but another part of him kept him searching. It was highly possible that these cubs were alright after all. This pride didn't seem to be one to let cubs wander so far away that they'd get SO lost. Caius hoped it was just a game at least as he turned over yet another stone.

"They are tricky little guys aren't they," He half joked.

After running a good distance away, Maya was convinced that she was chasing ghosts. She hadn't heard a rustle yet. She'd heard nothing but cries for help and little pleas. So maybe this really was a ghost chase. That thought sent a chill to her spine before sighing. No. She was determined to find whoever it was.

Ears twitching again, she topped and panted, hanging her head. She would usually be curled up sleeping right now, but nooo. She was now burning off fat chasing dismembered voices.

It was strange how fast they had dissappeared. Almost like they had in plain sight. He had caught on to a few scents, but none of them had panned out the way he had wanted. Frustrated, he began searching in the shadows. Well she had never said they were bright right? What if they would blend!

Suddenly he felt very clever..

The golden bird soared over the heads of the many leopards romping around below. They seemed to be in a right tizz and it was proving to be difficult to spot any small leopards amongst the big fluffy ones that were jumping around, seemingly with no heads screwed on.

"Stay still you big hairy critters, you're making it very difficult."
