[1 v 1] Sight Without Seeing (Mitsu / Shun)

The sound of the bell could be heard going around him. Shun continued to turn towards the sound, trying to pinpoint her location. Wait. There was a shift in where it was coming from, though he realized this a little too late and ended up taking the punch to his side.

Grunting, he reached for her arm to try and pull her close, thrusting out his open hand to try and punch her in the chest.

[Inu-Mitsu]

Mitsu let out a yelp as Shun grabbed her pulling her closer. She barely had time to react before his palm hit her in the chest. Air fleeted her lungs in a moment, her fear shield preventing her from feeling the full force of the pain for the time being. Later would likely not be so forgiving.

Trying to fight her way free Mitsu wiggled in his hold, a hand slapping at the one holding her arm while the other aimed to nail him in the side once again.

While Shun could tell where Mitsu was right now thanks to holding her in place, it also meant that she didn't have to move as much to hit him back. He had just let go of her when he suddenly felt an impact in his side once more. Gritting his teeth, he didn't back off just yet, and attacked, sending out a few strikes to try and catch her.

[Inu-Mitsu]

As soon as she was released Mitsu retreated back using her speed to gain some distance. Shun was doing rather well she thought. He was pin pointing her and using what he could as an advantage though holding her in place wouldn't have been an advantage for long. A few more rounds and she would lose the bell but she wouldn't tell him when that was going to occur. She wanted to see how he would fair without knowing so that she would know the extent that they would have to practice and work.

Without warning the lycan darted forward, the bell giving away her location as she drew closer to strike. She was trying to be fair knowing he wasn't adjusted to blocking yet without seeing. Mitsu was certain with time and practice he would hear the movement and be able to anticipate where a hit might come. Her brother had done that fairly well though he picked up on the most subtle of things. Mitsu could remember reaching out to take his hand and he would be reaching for her's in turn before she had touched him. The lycan realized it would be different for Shun, her brother had grown up without his sight while Shun had only had his damaged just recently.

He had hit nothing. Furrowing his brow, Shun tried to listen carefully for any signs of Mitsu. And then he heard it. The bell sounded a little louder, as if it had been shaken harder. Did that mean she was moving more suddenly? He turned trying to move out of the way, but ended up taking the strike once more. It wasn't easy to avoid attacks like this.

Grimacing, he switched gears, attempting to drive his knee into her.

[Inu-Mitsu]

Shun would hear the retreat of the bell once again as Mitsu moved back and out of range of his knee. She wanted to come in and strike again but decided it was time to really test and see how Shun was fairing.

Reaching up she gripped the bell she had clipped onto her choker and pulled it off tossing it aside. The bell jingled with each hit as it bounced a couple of times across the floor before it finally came to a rolling stop. With the bell gone her movements were much quieter but her footfalls were still fairly apparently as she moved forward again drawing her hand back ready to strike.

Perhaps she forgot for a moment about fairness or maybe the spar had gone to her head. Either way she realized too late her hit was more powerful than it needed to be as she aimed a punch right in the middle of his chest.

His knee had hit nothing, but he also heard the bell moving away from him. But then, he heard it jingling off to the side, catching his attention. Something about it sounded weird though. It sounded like it was hitting the ground? Bouncing? This befuddled him a bit. And his distraction came with a price as he suddenly felt a powerful strike hit his sternum in a different direction from where he heard the bell.

Grunting, he reeled back, but managed to not fall over. Gritting his teeth, he rubbed his chest, and was trying to figure out where she was now. Shun could guess that she had tossed the bell away, which was going to make things a little trickier for him.

Remembering where he had been struck, he shifted forth, and launched a punch in her direction.

[Inu-Mitsu]

The punch nicked her in the shoulder and Mitsu shifted away, dragging her feet just slightly so that there was a little noise to follow.

"I've added a bit of a challenge but listen to my footsteps. Noise is going to be your best bet. If you are in doubt of where I am make noise of your own and use the way the sound bounces off the walls and me to help find me."

For the time being Mitsu stood a distance away but moved in place slightly without actually leaving. She wanted Shun to train his ears on the sound and follow it.

Make his own noise? Shun furrowed his brow at that thought. Didn't bats do something like that? He wasn't exactly a bat... This confused him a bit. He wasn't even really sure if his ears could work in that way. And so he just listened for now, but he was having trouble picking up on her movements now that she had quieted herself.

He stilled himself, focusing and clearing his mind.

After waiting a little bit, he picked up on something. It was then that he summoned his daggers and flung one in what he thought was her direction.

The hiss that followed would be enough for Shun to know he had hit his mark. The tip of the dagger sliced across her shoulder leaving a decent sized gash. The scent of blood was fairly prominent to her but she wasn't sure how well Shun would be able to pick up on that to help find her.

Carefully she began to move again trying to lighten her steps before she approached to tap the reaper in the shoulder with a light punch before backing away and falling silent again. Would he be able to find her this time?

Shun heard the hiss so he knew he had kinda hit her at least a little. And while he was familiar with the scent of blood, there wasn't enough of it at the moment for him to really pick up on. He could have sworn he heard the faint patter of her footsteps and so he began to move, but ended up taking the light punch anyhow.

Whirling around, he tried to listen for where she had gone. She was a little further away from him again. That much he had gathered. It was a little easy for her to move out of the way if he stumbled in her direction with an attack, especially since he wasn't certain of the exact distance.

And so he waited a little longer before flinging his second dagger.

[Inu-Mitsu]

Mitsu quickly determined having the daggers thrown at her was far worse than having them used to cut her. She tried to move out of the way only to have the dagger bury itself in her side. Biting the inside of her cheeks she tried not to yelp or cry out because the pain while slight was still evident. Pulling at the dagger she let it drop to the ground at her feet knowing Shun could easily retrieve it without moving an inch.

Hoping to give him a bit of a challenge this time Mitsu began to move instead of staying in place, trying her best to keep her footfalls lighter. She wasn't moving fast but she was trying to focus her attempt on his left side since that was the side he would need to concentrate this ability.

Shun didn't hear the clatter of his dagger until some time after he had thrown it. That must have meant that he hit. Though, he listened carefully, noticing that she wasn't quite staying in place. Rather than resummoning his daggers, he just stayed put a little while.

Then, when he had an idea of where she was, he began to move, rushing forth before throwing a punch.

Though, he misjudged the distance and just hit the air a few feet away from where Mitsu actually was.

Considering his handicap Mitsu felt proud of her reaper. She hadn't expected him to pick this up so well on the first try so the progress he was making was wonderful. He had misjudged the distance a little with his next strike but in time Mitsu was certain that wouldn't be the case. More than likely he would be just as proficient with hitting blind as he was with his vision.

Shuffling her feet Mitsu retreated back a few steps before she lunged forward again, this time not darting to the side but head on as she made a frontal attack coming in low to elbow Shun in the abdomen. It was a move she hoped wouldn't be too painful but she knew would likely slow him down.

This time around, Shun didn't really react accordingly. He heard the soft shuffle, but then lost track of where Mitsu was. And as a result, he ended up taking the elbow pretty squarely to his gut. Grunting, he recoiled back from the sudden strike.

Shaking his head, he gritted his teeth and lunged back ahead, trying to get her before she could retreat again, sending out two jabs at the wolf girl.
