It's in the blood Your name: Trying for: Girl! Cub name: Alobin Meaning: As in haemoglobin, made un-westernised. Future rank in the K'A: Dusk Healer (Alternatively, Mind Healer -- whichever is in more demand.) Diseased or carrier: Diseased -- She'll live through her cub/juve stages without any symptoms, but it'll hit her hard come adolescence. Despite this, she's determined to be a healer and will do so. She'll probably die slowly after a median time as an adult. Whether I ever get there ICly or whether it just stays as a plan will be debatable. Short personality blurb: As a child, Alobin will be dreamy and distracted -- Her seer powers give him frequent snippets of visions, and she'll often become distracted with something then discover that it happened a long time ago, or never happened at all. As a cub, this gains her a reputation as a bit of a dreamer, and her gentle, easy disposition does nothing to disprove this fact.
She'll stay soft-spoken and kind, but as she gets older she learns to differentiate between visions and daydreams better, and starts to become determined to be a healer. Her visions are generally 'gentle' - either scenes of happiness or love, but those that aren't seem to be connected innately with healing. There will be damaged or hurt creatures, but there will also be people tending to them.
As she never shows symptoms at all through her childhood, she and the others are convinced she's a carrier, so when they come with fervor during her adolescence it's quite shocking. She'll have a period of self-reflection and gloom, which will be interesting for plots and RP and such, and through plots/RP she'll decide that he's being an immature child and that why should this change anything?
As she matures she'll become a strong (if not in body) lioness who's always looking out for others. She'll never quite shake her often dreamy attitude, or the splintered visions, but she'll try to live his life the best she can - helping others. Future plot ideas: I filled a few of them in inside the personality blurb~ Why do you want a cub in the K'A? I...really love this pride concept, and I've been debating sending a character here for a while, but I didn't really have anyone. I'm trying to get back into RPing at SOA, and I think getting this cub would really help with this because I really like both of these character concepts! Haha! Particularly the girl's concept though. hnng<3 Prompt number and answer: Prompt #4~ Art. Whatever happens, the owners of the cubs are welcome to keep the art!

It's in the blood Your name: Tilly_Milly_wolf Trying for: Boy Cub name: Muhjah Meaning: meaning "Heart's blood; soul" in Arabic Future rank in the K'A: Hunter, maybe even Lead Hunter Diseased or carrier: Carrier Short personality blurb: He has an eye for blood and is lustful when its spilled. Future plot ideas: that will come up one day Why do you want a cub in the K'A? i never had one before and it would be my first Prompt number #1 and answer: Muhjah was shocked he never had a vision before. He just had to get one but didn't know what could conjure it. He ran out in horror that he never had one before and had to have on. Walking around he saw something; a circle of commotion. When he rushed there, he saw a living hunt that ran here and the hunter above it. As he watched it be killed, he had blood spat on his fur and it finally happened;a vision. He could see the horror of the chase in the hunt's eyes when living and its veins coursing blood to live as it was bleeding and he knew he had to be a hunter for these were the visions for a hunter of blood. Licking to blood from him, he became lustful for it. His eyes would glow red as his vision kept going until all the blood was off of him and his eyes were grey once more. He smirked, showing his fangs, and knew what to do at adulthood with his new ability. Returning home, he came to his father. "Father! Father! I have had a vision! I saw a hunter kill its hunt then got hit with its blood and as i licked it off, i saw its veins coursing and saw the way it was going to escape! That is how i had it, tasting the blood! These are the visions of a hunter! I know how to use them!" But he knew the blood was a bit shocking to his father. He wanted to be a hunter and made it his goal.
Last chance... Your name: Tilly_Milly_wolf Cub name: Eztli Meaning: Unisex name meaning "Blood" in Nahuatl Future rank in the K'A: Hunter Diseased or carrier: Carrier Short personality blurb: the same as above

It's in the blood Your name: Tanakako Trying for: Boy Cub name: Rakta'garūt Meaning: blood wing in bengali Future rank in the K'A: Monk Diseased or carrier: Diseased Short personality blurb: Always having been a bit of a loner and a dreamer, this young lad is in robust health until his middle-juve stage when he falls desperately sick. He becomes confined to his den but goes into remission as he reached adolescence. During his recovery he spent a lot of time with the prides monks and grew to feel a strong connection with them and their work. With his health constantly teetering on the edge of a downward spiral, he knows he can never be an incredibly active member of the pride, but he had discovered a feeling of solace when he meditates. So in part due to his weak body and in part to soothe the call that is irresistible within him, he takes the mantel of Monk when he comes of age, dedicating his life and his frequent visions to the worship of their patron goddess. Future plot ideas: I'd love him to take on one of his sons as his apprentice, finally dying on the day the youngster takes his vows. Why do you want a cub in the K'A? I love the pride and was there reading the IT thread as it was being filled out. I have a family line in there already (Sliabh's) and would love to branch out into unrelated families. Prompt number and answer: #1 Sighing breathlessly the juvenile youth plopped himself down on the ground just outside his den. It was one of his worse days, the coughs were almost continuous and despite the raging hunger in his belly, he couldn't seem to keep anything down. Curling his tail about him he huddled against the warm stone, desperately missing his father. Sure he was growing up fast, or as fast as one did while sick, but for a moment he wished he were a cub again, able to climb up onto his father's warm body and snuggle close. Eyes closed he was grateful the coughing had stopped for a little while. His ribs hurt from the force of them and his throat was raw and painful. A sound close by distracted him and he blinked up, watching as a lion padded past, a meal swinging from his jaws. Rakta had to swallow a sudden sigh as he glanced to the lion's spirit following along behind. The transparent shape was almost entirely gone, reduced to a mere shimmering in the air. Sadness filled him at the sight, knowing the normal-looking lion who had passed by wouldn't be around in a few more days. He hoped the lion's friends were being supportive, but then they had to be, for the lion had looked quite content, not tearful or stressed as others did before they passed on. Smiling to himself he nodded faintly. At least that lion seemed ok.
Rakta had no idea that only he saw these 'shadows'. After all everyone else seemed to know when a lion was nearing the end of him time and the youth had never outright asked, simply assuming that the healers used a lion's shadow to determine how long they had left, for the shape faded towards the end of a cat's life.
Turning his gaze from the lion back to the landscape he shifted a little, struggling to resist the tickling cough starting in the back of his throat. He wanted Mith close by when the next attack came. Swallowing the tickle with determination he let his mind wander again, thinking of their adopted father. Rakta loved the dark lion as if they were true-born relations and in truth, he did not see any difference between their little family and many others in the pride. So many had lost one parent or even both that Rakta did not see his mother's absence as unusual, or the fact that their biological father was outside the pride. he loved Mith and wanted the male to be proud of him, just like any youngster, but he knew that Mith had frequent visions and it was a terrible worry for him that he had never possessed even one. He was sure it would happen soon, complete with blinding lights and a magical soundtrack, but until it happened he was struggling not to let on to Mith that his son was defective in this way, and had even used his very few dreams to hint that maybe he had been having visions, though he never specifically claimed them as that, he just didn't want his dad to worry. After all, there was enough to worry over with his health.
It's in the blood Your name: Tanakako Trying for: Girl Cub name: Kifo'sauti Meaning: death sigh in swahili Future rank in the K'A: Oracle Diseased or carrier: Diseased Short personality blurb: Sick yet playful as a cub, somber and quite as an adult. She casts and reads bones to access her seer ability. Frequently sick she nevertheless considers her job more important than her own welfare, often working through ill health to conduct readings for other pride members. When she does have uninduced visions they are more often than not about lions that are about to die, with her becoming the victim for the duration of her vision. Future plot ideas: I'd like her to have a few visions where she watches a pride member die as if she is that member. The repeated experience of her own death will affect her profoundly, and yet it gives her a sense of peace. As she does not find death scary, but instead a release, as she feels the easing of the constant pain and sickness when the lion she has the vision about passes on. It will give her a fairly pragmatic viewpoint on dying and the disease itself. Why do you want a cub in the K'A? (same as above) I love the pride and was there reading the IT thread as it was being filled out. I have a family line in there already (Sliabh's) and would love to branch out into unrelated families. Prompt number and answer: #3
Kifo has always been curious about her mother. The lioness's absence and the brief visits even when she was around made her an inevitable draw for the young cub. Sick though she may be she always enjoyed the rare visits with her mother, naturally wanting to be just like the impressive, graceful female. And when her illness prevented any kind of energetic play, Kifo would enjoy simply laying near her mother, listening to the lioness simply exist. Her breathing, anything she had to say.. all of it was taken in by little Kifo'sauti.
She didn't consider her mom's frequent absences anything unusual. After all most families in the pride had either lost one parent or even both, and those still alive were often sick. Most cubs were brought up by nannies and sometimes the healers too, so she actually thought their situation quite normal. With herself and several other siblings spending time in the healer dens and the rest of the time with their adopted father Myth, their lives were the same as most young cubs.
If they know Veri is a goddess, Kifo will feel it a privilege but also that it would mean there will be certain expectations. For being related to a god would mean one had to be on their best behavior at all times. She will always grow up into a serious lioness, her early years with her mother and observing the other adult females in a pride so 'blessed' by sickness will instill this into her, so the knowledge of her birthright will simply intensify this aspiration in her.
Last chance... Your name: Tanakako Cub name: Girl = Kifo'sauti || Boy = Rakta'garūt Meaning: Girl - death sigh in swahili || Boy = blood wing in bengali Future rank in the K'A: Girl - Oracle || Monk - boy Diseased or carrier: Diseased (Both) Short personality blurb: Girl: Sick yet playful as a cub, somber and quite as an adult. Boy: Always having been a bit of a loner and a dreamer, this young lad is in robust health until his middle-juve stage when all of a sudden he falls desperately sick. It's in the blood Your name: pinkdog Trying for: Girl Cub name: Cruentus (Cru, for short) Meaning: blood-red Future rank in the K'A: Diseased or carrier: diseased Short personality blurb: Cru is a cub with a strong personality; sarcastic, cunning, over-confident. Although she has been diseased from birth, the disease and the seer powers given to her by her mother are intertwined. The tide of the disease rises and falls with her periodically, and at the height of every wave of sickness, she will be hit by premonitions of the future. However, these visions are subjective; she will see a brief view from several possible futures, but she never knows which one will be the one to come true. Sometimes she even dreams of her own death. She doesn’t feel frightened by these visions, though. She feels empowered, even when her body is at its weakest.
Indeed, when she starts to feel the first signs of the disease, symptoms almost like those of a cold, she feels smug. Certainly there is a sense of trepidation mixed in, but those are private feelings she keeps deeply buried; even to herself she does not want to admit she fears death. To her, the disease is not a weakness, but a sort of strength; she has an ability that others can never hope to have, which, to her way of thinking, can surely only work to her advantage in the future.
She is a strong friend and ally, once gained. Future plot ideas: I can see her being a pivotal character in plots driven by outsiders or those with feelings of discontent. I can imagine others attempting to manipulate her and use her dreams for her own purposes, and her letting them believe they are succeeded, but in turn manipulating them. Why do you want a cub in the K'A? I like the combination of concepts? Honestly, I just had a vision for what this girl would be like, and I feel really strongly about it ^^ so I am excited to apply and have a lion that is a part of a pride. Prompt number and answer: Prompt 3
Cruentus sat upon a precipice of a craggy hill. She gazed with a disinterested stare over the land. She imagined that she could see a barrier shimmer in the air with her seer’s eye. A puff of breath rushed from her lungs in a semblance of a laugh; she knew her powers gave her no such sight. The barrier between the Kitwana’antara lands and the other pridelands, though as real and impenetrable as a mountain, was nonetheless invisible. With a twitch of her ear, she turned her skull-marked face to the sun. Ah, but her seer’s powers gave her other sights, sights no one but herself could claim. Well…perhaps one other. Blinking into the sun, Cru’s thoughts wandered to the few snippets Mith had given her about her mother. Cru often wondered if her mother, as a goddess, had the same abilities she did, or some similar permutation: to see beyond or behind the here and now. She knew Mith did, but while he was a good lion, he was not her blood. She had seen glimpses of her mother over her own short lifespan, always on the outskirts, her blood-red wings and mane against white fur, like a ghostly specter. No advice, knowledge, or comfort had ever passed between mother and daughter. It was no deprivation. Cru’s tail twitched and swayed side to side before settling. Cru, though still a cub, felt quite capable enough on her own. She rolled her shoulders, the skeletal markings on her back rippling. The lack of maternal supervision was immaterial. There were very few creatures that Cruentus felt absolute loyalty to. The first was Pestilence, for her blessing. The other…for the gifts Veri had given her, Cruentus would remain loyal to her mother and her mother’s causes regardless of the goddess’s actions. Sweeping herself onto her feet, she turned smoothly in the opposite direction from which she had been facing. At least, the move had meant to be smooth. Cru stumbled slightly as a flash of pain, the beginnings of a light headache, assaulted her. She paused to gain her bearings. Slowly, one side of her maw curled up in small, toothy sneer (a smile, by her standards). The blessing had come. Taking a careful step forward, so as not to stumble again, Cruentus reflected once more on the gift the goddess Veri had given her. It was not just the sight. It was strength where others saw weakness. How could any motherly attention compare to that?

It's in the blood Your name: Lilbabe808 Trying for: Girl Cub name: Ko'ukoko Meaning: “my blood” in Hawaiian Future rank in the K'A: Hunter Diseased or carrier: Diseased Short personality blurb: Ko'ukoko will be a very cheerful cub. Despite the situation that her pride is in, she doesn't feel down at all. After all, there are no signs of the illness in her. So she thinks that she is immune to it. She will be a very open cub, friendly and willing to learn and try new things. There is no such thing as trying something stupid to her. She is very much a trial-and-error type of lion, needing to experience for herself. As she gets older, she will become less and less friendly due to the disease. Eventually, she will have a very cold personality except towards those that she is close with. This is to keep others away from her suffering. She will become more solitary, part of the pride but never social. As for having cubs, it will be hard for a male to impress her. She will be like an elusive cure, hard to find but worth the wait.
As for her seer abilities, they will mostly only work when she is touching another. She will get snippets of their past or future. Ko'ukoko will not know how to deal with them when she first gets them. It will be hard for her to tell the difference between visions of the past and the future. After figuring out that touch causes them to happen, it will also add to her solitary nature. Future plot ideas: The main thing I'd like is for Ko'ukoko to not know she is diseased. Eventually the symptoms will start showing and she will become depressed by this. After all, she wants to be a hunter. How can one hunt if their saliva can pass the disease? So she will make herself learn how to kill without biting. That way, she can never infect another by what she hunts. It will be a difficult and long learning process but worth it for her.
I also would like for her encounter another when she first figures out that touch causes her visions. She will tell them about it and they will be frightened of her. Either that or they will pester her constantly to tell them of their future. This will give her a good reason to be solitary. Why do you want a cub in the K'A? I don't have one yet and would love one! It would make for very interesting role-play to have a diseased lion too. Prompt number and answer: 3
Ko'ukoko had most certainly heard about her mother from father. But that wasn't enough to satisfy her really. She did get to see her mother sometimes around the pride. It was hard to really get near her though. Mama was not very social with her which didn't deter her in the least. Maybe mama was teaching the something. Of course, if she was teaching them a lesson, Ko'u had yet to figure out what exactly that lesson was. One day, she would most definitely get to know her mama though. It was something great that she had a goddess for her mother. She liked to think that mama was busy doing goddess stuff and that was the reason why she was rarely around. Ko'u wanted to be like her, a goddess at least. She was absolutely sure that she would be affectionate for her cubs when she had them.
A small smile flitted across her face. There was nothing wrong with the relationship she and mama had. After all, a goddess would know how best raise cubs right? The time she had with her mama was cherished by Ko'u. At times she liked to study how her mama acted around others. Oh! She thought of the lesson that mama might be teaching them. Perhaps it is the way to act around other gods! Of course, that must be it. She was so proud of herself that she had thought of it. Now she would have to be sure to learn how to behave properly to make her mama proud.

It's in the blood Your name: TanuKyle Trying for: Boy, this time. c: Cub name: Gweadnearth Meaning: Blood strength Future rank in the K'A: Guard Diseased or carrier: Carrier Short personality blurb: Ade, as he will generally shorten his name to, will be a rambunctious, active cub, and a trouble-maker besides. Whilst not malicious, he's a real rough and tumble cub and can often be unaware of how he can hurt others. Eventually he'll mature into a nice if somewhat 'jock-ish' guy, who's not very good with emotions and will freak out at any kind of disscussion about 'feelings' but will happily do any kind of grunt work for people. Future plot ideas: I think it could be interesting if he accidentally hurt someone as a Juve/Adol, which leads him to stop being so childish and try and be more adult. If one of his siblings and/or someone he's friends with is diseased, I'd like him to struggle to express the fact that he loves them. I'd like him to use his strength for good - be it freeing a trapped lion or running off an intruder. Why do you want a cub in the K'A? I...really love this pride concept, and I've been debating sending a character here for a while, but I didn't really have anyone. I'm trying to get back into RPing at SOA, and I think getting this cub would really help with this because I really like both of these character concepts! Haha!
