I am writing for: [White] Tiger! Cub Name: Coran (little hill/nose) Personality Blurb: Just like his light coat suggests, Coran is similarly a light and goodhearted lion. He comes off as a bit naive and meek in nature, but he is in fact patient and clever. Whenever his family needs it, he is the force of positive light and energy, and the calming voice that helps every decision. On the surface, he is this, and also likes to be very helpful to whoever needs it. From the circumstances around his upbringing's atmosphere, however, he is very frightened, insecure, and easily scared at times - even though he may not admit it. Living a life in which being hidden is crucial and camouflage is crucial, he is always tense about sticking out or getting caught by some unknown entity. Despite this, his loyalty to his family would make him the type to sacrifice himself should he be left behind to secure the safety, even if only temporary, for his mother and brothers.
Coran is the type to observe and take everything in before making a call or judgment. He is very much level-headed and reflective, though gives in to his anxiety for hiding all the time, resulting in an intense paranoia. While these ideals seem to conflict, he is one or the other dependent on circumstance; around his family, he is able to keep composed, but if he is alone or with only one other, he can get skittish. His family gives him strength, as those are the only ones he has learned to rely on and trust, ever. Prompt Reply: 3 - mix of 1&2
Coran shuffled through bush to bush, always light on his paws, always with his siblings. They shot from one hiding spot to the next in quick succession, as that was what they were taught since birth. It was most of what they knew.
When they were children, they only had a vague idea of what would happen if they didn't listen. By now, they know very well that the Shatkona's Ligi would not blink to turn them in had they stood out from their hiding places. They knew that they could be turned in for a life of slavery or death just on mere whim of the Shatkona.
Sahen... It was a name that they learned of, and now, it instilled fear in Coran's heart. He gulped when the name echoed in his mind; Sahen was able to kill him, Sahen was able to kill his family... He knew it might as well be a truth if the group of brothers revealed themselves.
On this day, it seemed like just another. The years of darting around from tree to bush to boulder served the brothers well. Still, they were cautious and vigilant as ever while their mother performed her routine hunting duties. This time, it was Coran's turn to stay on watch while the others rested inside the den. These moments stressed him out, honestly. But he was very good at hiding that fact; that, or his brothers never really paid attention to his twitching paws or the infrequent shallow heartbeats when he thought something was coming - when he thought something was amiss. As much as Coran tried to remove the thoughts from his head, the real possibilities of them were too strong, and so he lived in this constant fear, this constant turmoil.
Still, he could not let that fear interfere with his need to protect his family. It was with great pride that he stood watch outside their den, dark forest green eyes ever alert for signs of movement.
And there it was.
His ears and tail raised in alarm when he saw something move, and in the next second, his mother came tumbling out of the thickets. She signaled for him to get inside, but it was too late - rushing after her was another lion, a crazed, incensed look on his face, and a twisted smile accompanying it. He heard her mother give an excuse, but he would not have it; he motioned to Coran, who was frozen in place with fear and confusion, and the Ligi moved his large frame over to the paling adolescent, shoving the boy over to the ground.
All of this was happening in a surreal haze to Coran; in one spontaneous moment, it seemed like his whole life was over, and the years of hiding were for naught; they were discovered.
First, the Ligi began taunting them, boasting about how they all looked small and stupid enough to kill and eat. Then, he taunted them, saying that was probably what was going to happen once he told Sahen. Coran didn't even know who this Ligi was, but he seemed important enough to be confident about all of what he was saying.
Something in Coran snapped. Perhaps it was the severity of the situation or perhaps his stress reached its limit, but Coran got up from his position to plant his paws in the ground, in front of the Ligi standing before his brothers. His chest puffed, and he flicked his black growing mane back, adopting an intent gaze.
"We are the House of Atmaja's Head Huntress's children. No doubt we will soon grow into strong adults, ready to take our place in the Ashnai'le. But until that time comes, we have committed ourselves to stay here, as untrained and ill adept bodies. Surely we would disgrace your eyes until we reach that point... Please pardon us."
He knew that it was not blatant begging or sudden viciousness that would win over the situation, but some common sense and a white lie that may win the tide in their favor. He could only hope... He could only hope that his penchant for knowing the calm, reasonable thing to say in this time would help save their futures.

I am writing for: [White] Tiger! Cub Name: Daethal (means “white healer” in elvish) Personality Blurb: Daethal is a very good cub. He believes in all that is good in the world despite the conditions they live under. He always listens to his mother and is nice to any that he may meet. His heart is pure and his intentions in life are the same. The greatest wish of his is to bring peace to his pride. Whether he is the Chosen One or not, he will do his best to make his mother's dreams come true of a pride free of tyranny. He is enthusiastic in learning things. So anytime his mother wishes to teach them something, he listens and watches intently. It saddens him a little that he can't also enthusiastically play too. As he gets older, he will grow into a lion pure of heart and very honorable. Prompt Reply: 1
Daethal watched as momma went out to hunt. As soon as the black tip of her tail disappeared from his sight he immediately scanned the area. It was now his job to be guard to their den. Failure was not an option. He was absolutely determined to not fail her. His ears stayed alert to any and all sounds, swiveling atop his head to catch every little one. His green eyes constantly looked about in every direction he could think of another coming from. Even as he did all this, he remembered what momma had taught them from the beginning. His body was plush to the ground, hidden. No sound escaped him as that could draw someone from the pride to them.
He was never one to question momma. If she wanted something done, he did it to the best of his ability. Daethal momentarily checked on his siblings. He needed to make sure they were still in the den after all! He wouldn't be a very good guard if they had decided to go on an adventure without him. Even he wanted to play once in awhile. Still, momma warned them of how dangerous a time this was. He could not stop to play when their lives were at stake. He whispered to them, “Don't forget, momma said to stay quiet. Though I guess you can play while I stand guard, just quietly.” His head nodded enthusiastically. He very much wished he could join them. Still a bit of play would keep them from getting restless.
After making sure everyone was alright, he went back to watching the area surrounding their den. Hopefully momma would be back soon. He was getting really hungry. Daethal shook his head, he needed to take this seriously. Momma had given him a big job, he would make her proud. It wasn't long till he saw the familiar black fur and smelled food on the air. He sat up, still hidden in a bush, with a big smile as momma came home to relieve him of his guard duty.
I am writing for: [Black] Tiger! Cub Name: Verael (means “great peace” in elvish) Personality Blurb: Verael is a clumsy little cub. He is very accident-prone. It is often that he is found tripping over his own paws or walking into things. Thus he isn't too brilliant of a choice for sneaking around. After all, one can trip while sneaking too. If it's hiding, he's good at that though since it requires staying still. He is quite good at staying still, probably because he likes to observe things. Verael is more one to watch as things unfold around him. His mind is quick to memorize details. He is pretty fearless too. There is not really anything that scares him and intimidation won't work on him either. As he gets older, he'll grow into a lion of few words who ponders things more than anything else. He will also be protective of his mother, grateful for her care and sacrifices to keep him safe. Prompt Reply: 2
Verael had been relaxing when he heard his mother talking to someone. They had been doing what they did best, that was hiding and keeping a low profile. However, this time it hadn't seemed to work. He slowly inched along the ground towards the sounds of his mother and another, a male. His eyes widened as he just managed to catch the big lion push his mother aside forcefully. His entire self was calm. The lion had a white mane that stood out against his dark fur. His grin spoke something of cruelty with yellowed teeth as he spoke. “What do we have here? You know who I am?” The big lion's eyes focused on Verael. “I am a Ligi, hand of the king. What puny things you are.”
He didn't respond to any of it. His yellow-orange eyes stared up with not a single thread of fear. Instead he was memorizing the smell of the lion before him, the posture, coat, and voice. So this was a Ligi? Was he really supposed to be afraid of a lion that taunted adolescents? All he could do was continue staring. There were no words to express what he was thinking which was that he would very much like to shove this lion around one day. However, now was not the day, he was too young, untried, and much smaller. It wasn't the fact that this lion was currently acting like a pompous fool, it was that he had shoved his mother. That was one thing Verael could not stand without some kind of counter action.
Soon the Ligi's words penetrated his thoughts. “Can't speak eh? Too afraid? Or you just can't speak?” The lion let out a deep, rumbling laugh. “I guess the King has no need to pay attention to the likes of you. What can a lion that can't speak do?” The beast took his leave then, chuckling to himself. Verael's lips curled up, baring his teeth at the back of the intruder that was so very rude. One day he would get what was due to him and Verael would be there to help.

I am writing for: [Black] Tiger! Cub Name: Nyeusi or Nyeusi'matumaini ('Black' / 'black hope' in swahili) Personality Blurb: As a cub he is quite nervous and jumpy, made so by the constant vigilance of his mother. He is aware of the constant stress that lives in the air and can't help but react to it. As he grows to juvenile he accepts that things are the way they are, even if he doesn't understand the reasons. He strives to please his mother and live up to her expectations, but as a middle child he doesn't expect to be this 'Chosen One' he has heard about. So when ever one of his brothers is around and seems to be trying to compete with him, Nyeusi will bow out and watch from the sidelines, quite content to cheer on his siblings instead. However underneath he is totally devoted to his family and actually does take his duties quite seriously as he ages to adolescence. He knows he is lacking in many respects (though he is far harder on himself than even his mother is and is truly not as bad as he imagines himself to be), he is determined to do the best he can and protect his family.
Prompt Reply: It had been his turn to stand guard, a common enough duty that he had ceased thinking about it a long time ago and now just took his place with the ease of familiarity. If anyone had asked him, he would claim he was no kind of warrior, far preferring to while away his hours in the studies of nature and contemplating the ways of the world.. and trying to imagine who the Chosen One would be so he could help them over throw the current Shatkona. But he was still his mother's son and he had learned her lessons well. The sudden sound of a struggle off to one side had him twisting round, ready to defend himself yet the sight that burst out of the undergrowth sent chill fear flowing down his spine. A vividly coloured lion with murder in his eyes and a mad grin upon his maw.
A Ligi.
Even Nyeusi knew enough about these creatures to fear them and now he saw one for the first time he understood so very clearly why they were feared. This creature was crazed, but not in the way of temporary blood lust, but the kind of mental unbalance that made him twice as dangerous as any regular male. Swallowing Nyeusi nevertheless stood his ground, ears flattening as he bared his fangs in warning. He might be smaller and younger, but he would not be this one's lunch.
As the Ligi laughed he saw his mother shove her way past the male, fury on her face. Something in him calmed. He wasn't alone, he had his mother and his siblings at his back. He had a duty to protect them as it was His watch that had seen this lion invade their little home. Lifting his lips to reveal his own fangs he shot a glance to the side, knowing his brothers had appeared from out of the undergrowth to flank him. Young they might be, but innocent they were not. Together, with their strength and youth and their mother's experience, he knew they could drive this fool male away. Even kill him if it was absolutely necessary.

I am writing for: [White] Tiger! Cub Name: Gen geming (Chinese name roughly translating into "A root revolution") Personality Blurb: A withdrawn and secretive lion, Gen prefers not to tell others about himself. It could be dangerous, after all. He's worried about the risk of being presented to the Shatkona - He fears this far more than death itself, feeling that death would be a far more welcome end than having to serve a monster. He hopes one day that the Chosen One will come and vanquish Sahen, so that other cubs can be born and raised without fear of what will happen to them. Prompt Reply: Prompt 2!
Gen did not think, he only acted. It was recless, it was stupid... And he knew he could get killed for it. But he did not think, he only acted. With a shove of his hind paws, the adolescent tackled the Ligi, catching him off guard in a surprise move. They were only adolescents, after all, why would they attack a full-grown lion? The surprise didn't last long for the Ligi, though, as he fought back against this upstart youth. But Gen wasn't going to give up, not easily.
Pain bloomed across his face, the mark of the Ligi's claws, before Gen turned and bit down on the paw, using his own paws to claw at the other lion's face. If his brothers were helping him, if his mother was as well, he didn't know. He just knew that as they rolled over, Ligi's paw still in his mouth, his back paws now starting to kick at and claw the other lion's belly, the lion was suddenly limp and a dead weight. Very dead.
With help from his family, Gen got the dead lion off and stood over the body, staring at it. Blood stained his silver and white coat, as well as, he noticed, the coats of his brothers. They'd just killed a lion... But the other option was to possibly BE killed. He swallowed, before turning to Ibis. "What do we do now...?"

I am writing for: [Black] Tiger! Cub Name: Kivuli cha Akili ((Swahili meaning Shadow of the Mind) Personality Blurb: Kivuli will grow to be a realist, blunt, grounded, party-pooping, yet highly intelligent and tactical lion. However, for all that strength of mind, strength of body and physical strength will not be his to hold. Prompt Reply: It was his turn to be the guard. He found some honor in being seen as capable enough to guard his family, despite his lack of strength. If someone were to come along, it was true he would likely lose in a physical encounter, but he had wit and strength of mind. He'd be able to quickly think of a way to either hide the family or get them to safety. At least, he was fully confident in his ability to do that. Then again....it could have just been that they all had to take their turn. Sigh. of course, that was it. It wasn't because he was oh so smart. Kivuli's dose of cynical realism never failed to get him down.
This made him settle into a serious expression - some might say it looked a little sour.
Then he heard something. His ears perked and his eyes narrowed. This...didn't sound like mother's pawsteps... Then he saw it - a Ligi. Kivuli felt his blood run cold in his veins. the Ligi was a little ways away and didn't seem to be looking in this direction... Kivuli rose and slunk into the shadows of the cave entrance. When one of his siblings asked him what was up, Kivuli quickly shushed him with a 'shhh!' and a thwap of his tail.
"A Ligi... Quiet."
Kivuli's mind was going a mile a minute, trying to come up with the best course of action.... Kivuli watched...as the Ligi continued on his way in a direction paralell to the den, darting into a run. Something must have gotten it's attention... He hoped it hadn't been mother. That thought worried him just as much as the Ligi finding them had...
Kivuli stood and walked a few steps from the den to see if he could see where the Ligi had gone... but he couldn't. And he didn't hear the sound of fighting... Now, though, Kivuli would worry avidly until mother returned. She lay down back at the den entrance.
"Is it gone?" a sibling asked.
"I think so. But be quiet anyway. That was too close an encounter for comfort."
He wished there was a way to warn mother that a Ligi lurked so close by... However he knew not where to find her and there was no way he would leave the den unguarded. Kivuli was not one to hope or pray, but maybe this time he could give it a chance...
Mother, please be safe...

I am writing for:[White] Tiger! Cub Name: Gwandoya [ Means "met with misery" in Luganda ] Personality Blurb: Gwandoya is going to a be a really jittery male. All his life he'll feel as though there's a bad omen following over him, He'll be skittish and always looking over his shoulder for fear of what he expects to come. Prompt Reply: Oh boy, this wasn't good, not good in the least. He had been dreading this day for quite some time, and now it was finally here. It was his turn to guard his litter. It wasn't that he thought himself incapable, no he was far beyond that. He was fearful of what his black cloud could bring to his family, could his bad luck really transfer down to them? Gwandoya sat quietly outside the den, his fur trembling in absolute fear of what was going to happen and all the other possibilities all at once.
The crack of a branch, and his head jerked to attention, his eyes too weak to make out what was just beyond his sight. Terrified the cub shivered in his fur, not wanting to move but too fearful to squeal for fear of alerting his siblings to the danger. He had to be brave, and prove he was capable of doing even these simple tasks, but how could he be brave when he was so scared of even his own shadow? A whistle in the wind, and his fur stood on edge. "W-Who's there?" He whispered to the would be intruder, "G-Go away you aren't welcome here!" The small cub hissed the words with most umph he could force into his voice, listening as the sounds came closer and closer. With his ehart beating wildly out of his chest, the cub wanted nothing more but to run for cover, but with his siblings sleeping soundly in the den that wasn't an option.
Instead he would have to hold strong, despite the paralyzing fear he felt. Another crack of a twig, and a shadow in the night. With his breath held, the cub pulled himself to his feet and adjusted himself for a fight, only to be floored at what approached him. It was a rat, small and puny merely looking for a bite to eat. The anxiety quickly disappeared from the cub's mind and he smiled happily, letting out a small chuckle. "Heh, it was just a mouse, nothing to fear." As he chuckled away at the small mouse at his feet, he remained blissfully unaware of the shadow lurking in the background....
[[ I hope this is still open - if not please ignore me xD ]]
