♞The fox is a reminder that we must utilize all of our resources (seen and unseen) in order to accomplish our goals. Sometimes this means calling upon some unorthodox methods. Furthermore, the fox is a sign to be mindful of our surroundings. Phenomenally effective shape-shifters and incredibly adaptable, the fox beckons us to not make too many waves but rather, adapt to our surroundings, blend into it, and use our surroundings (and circumstances) to our advantage.
♞Like many totems in the canine family Fox people are intensely loyal. In nature foxes typically mate with a single partner or are monogamous. This companionship however is typically only during mating season and foxes spend the majority of their time in their own separate territory.
♞While not exactly social butterflies fox people can use that sly energy, their keen sense of camouflage to “fit right in”. People who possess the power of the fox are great quiet observers and are skilled at remaining unnoticed. This means that they blend into their environment, moving around unnoticed in any kind of company and society.
♞As mentioned above, despite being socially adaptable many fox people can be emotionally distant or detached. Playing the role of quiet observer or blending constantly into the background is not uncommon. This distance may be a conscious or unconscious choice and used as a defensive mechanism to protect from the pain or disappointment of difficult relationships.
♞Fox holds the distinction of being a negative symbol within Christianity and a positive symbol in other older and New World indigenous traditions.

♞when the Phoenix "gives up" its old and completed self, it does so because
it is ready to be transformed and reborn
♞ It is a constant reminder that our Current Incarnation is a Path of expansion and growth. It is also a reminder that our Journey is an infinite Adventure in which we can Decide, at any time, that our old self has completed its Cycle of usefulness. Once we Choose to leave our old self behind we simply need to follow the example of the Phoenix: immerse ourself in the Spiritual Fire of Sacrifice and Transformation, and use the ashes of our old self to create the new person we are Destined to Become.
♞The Phoenix Symbolizes the ultimate Act of Creative Destruction, Sacrifice, and rebirth within the sublime realm of mind and Spirit.
♞It might represent the sun which dies every night and is reborn the next morning. Among classical writers, it may represent those existing in paradise and enjoying eternal youth. Among Christians, it can represent rebirth after death.
♞To many a Phoenix may represent a new beginning, that no matter how bad things may get you will get back up on your feet
♞In China, Phoenix has it's correspondent in Feng-huang bird, where the Yin and Yang principles reunite.
♞Jewish legends name it Milcham and explain its immortality by its faithfulness.
♞The legend of the Phoenix can be simply interpreted to mean that the end is only the beginning.
♞ They can carry immensely heavy loads and their tears have healing powers. Giving to the idea that they can carry wight of the world and still get through to better times, and that no matter what kind of damage is done they can heal themselves and move on.
♞A phoenix represents hope and self-sacrifice for new life.

♞Dingos are these cute little wild dogs but they are dangerous, unpredictable and untamed.
♞Inquisitive, intelligent predators that travel in packs.
♞Being taken for granted.
♞The dingo are hunters with good vision, they will hunt in packs to bring down large prey like kangaroo, though they prefer to hunt rabbits and rodents. In contemporary times the dingo enjoys notorious fame in Australia as being an animal that has and will attack humans and livestock, much of its reputation is undeserved. Feral dogs are more destructive than a purebred dingo.
♞The Australian dingo teaches us about the importance of group dynamics. Do we know our position amongst our friends and our 'pack'? Do we know how to maintain that position, or do we wish to gain more status? It's important to understand where we are in the hierarchy in order to understand how to act and respond to the people around us. Dingo teaches us about status, respect and the pack mentality.
♞One of the reasons dingo draws your attention to the importance of the group and 'pack', is because we may be feeling as though we are misunderstood or being taken for granted. The dingo is a creature that has suffered great persecution, and we too may be feeling elements of that in our lives at this time. Is it time to confront those who mistreat us? Dingo suggests that it is. Remember that the energy of dingo is adaptable and generous, if you feel that others have forgotten your importance, dingo helps you to remember your own importance and to show others how relevant you are to them.
♞This wisdom when given to us from dingo helps us to maintain monogamy despite disloyalty, partnership in the face of great conflict, and a cohesive family dynamic despite any internal rivalries. Dingo teaches us that families are not perfect, but they can be a wellspring of support, and in turn they can also provide us avenues towards new opportunity.
♞There is a graver element to dingo's teachings. Whenever dingo comes into our lives, its reminds us of our own mortality, of the threat of extinction of ourselves and that we care for. We may be more aware than usual that humans occupy a precarious position in our environment, or alternatively we may be aware that the things and people we care about are at risk in some manner. Dingo helps us to make peace with this threat of extinction, and to remember that extinction is a natural cycle. As dingoes have hunted native animals, so too are they at threat of becoming extinct, and so too are we. Extinction is another cycle, resistance against it is unhelpful and stops us from focusing on living our lives in the present.
♞Dingo teaches us the value of taking risks whenever we see opportunity. Dingo brings radical change and a need for adaptation in our lives. If we resist this change and ignore the opportunities, we may find that dingo can teach harsh and painful lessons when life passes us by, or when change is forced upon us regardless of how we try to ignore it. However, if we embrace dingo energy, then we find that the positive aspects of change and risk-taking far outweigh the negative. Dingo is a powerful energy, and can help us to change our attitude towards life, becoming more proactive as people in the process.
♞Like all animal helpers, this animal will only appear when right and appropriate, and cannot be forced to visit you, commune with you, or share messages with you. Dingo has a wonderful, curious and adaptable energy that is both alert and open to new methods of communication. Dingo can be a responsive, persistent and patient guide if you meet its energy with enthusiasm and respect.

♞As a Celtic symbol, the Horse was associated with war. With war, comes attributes of victory, conquer, longevity as well as procurement of territory and other spoils that come with triumph in battle.
♞The Greco-Romans also associated the Horse with the spoils of war and attributed it to symbolism such as power, victory, honor, domination and virility.
♞Romans also believed the Horse to be a symbol of the continuity of life, fertility and rebirth.
♞As one of the symbols in the Chinese zodiac, the horse in Chinese culture is equated with Gemini, and represents practicality, love, endurance, devotion and stability.
♞The Horse has been seen to represent the intuitive aspect of human nature.
Horse totem people are very balanced in their social, career, independence, and family lives. They rarely get too entrenched in any one project or aspect of their lives that the other areas suffer. Many who know them will even lean on this totem animal for support when they themselves have gotten out of balance.
♞If you have the horse totem, you may be innately more nurturing than most. The horse spirit animal has a special comforting touch, and always has the right words to say to make someone feel better. You might notice that people are drawn to those with this animal totem, much like many people are drawn to the exquisite beauty of horses
♞Horse totem people are strong workers and never give up until the job is done. This spirit animal rarely complains or whines, and instead just forges ahead to accomplish many things in their lives. They are strong-willed and can endure almost anything, so these spirit animal people make great teammates and accomplices.
♞Sometimes people with this totem animal tend to be a little too willing, as in, they will do almost anything that anyone asks of them.
♞A horse totem person may be difficult to predict. The animal is usually tame and docile, but you can never know exactly what they’re thinking, and they may take off at a full gallop at anytime! Likewise, some horses just simply cannot be tamed – and some people with this spirit animal cannot be tamed either.
♞Horses spook easily, and the same holds true for those who have this spirit animal as their totem. These people are highly sensitive to sights, touch, and sound, and may prefer to know exactly whats going on around them at all times rather than to be surprised.

♞In China, the tiger is considered the king of all beasts (not the lion) and represents powerful energy. Further, the tiger is associated with Tsai Shen Yeh, the Chinese God of Wealth, and this god is usually seen sitting on a tiger in Asian art.
♞Asian lore considers the tiger the protector of the dead, and will often be seen in graves as a mark of protection, assuring peace for those who have passed.
♞Finding strength and willpower to tackle an unpleasant situation can be difficult, but the spirit of the tiger totem is one that carries a powerful message. The tiger spirit guide is often depicted as a totem of great passion, but while tigers can travel great distances in short periods of time, they often spend upwards of 80% of their time resting and conserving their energy.
These great hunters don’t like to waste their efforts and when choosing to expend energy prefer to get a strong return on their investment. If an opportunity presents itself, this spirit totem animal will not hesitate to pounce on it!
♞Tiger spirit is a solitary hunter and spends a great deal of time stalking the forest alone in search of prey. This powerful totem animal must rely solely on their own strength and cunning to survive.
♞People with tiger as their spirit totem animal carry themselves with strength and confidence, they easily blend in or camouflage in social situations and their powerful charisma can draw others to them. Tiger spirit totem people are often calm, collected, and quiet. Tiger totem people, enjoy being independent, and rely on having a quiet place to retreat to if things get stressful. Tiger spirit animal hunts mainly at dusk and at night, which lends to the fact that tiger spirit totem people often accomplish the most when working at night.
♞People who carry tiger spirit are sensual and passionate about their meaning in life, they are also devoted and caring parents. This totem is not fussy when things don’t go their way, and move forward in life with almost single minded persistence. Lastly, the tiger spirit animal is an opportunist, meaning they will adapt their actions, or strategies, in order to take advantage of opportunities that present themselves
♞Tiger spirit people tend to enjoy solitude and silence, this can mean that loud, obnoxious, or crowded places can cause anxiety unless the tiger totem animal has entered these spaces with a specific purpose. People with this spirit animal totem can be withdrawn in social situations, preferring to just blend in. As stated above, many tiger totem animal people may be drawn to the tiger spirit, but this can translate to a lot of potential hangers on/scavengers that will be drawn to their successes. Being loud, boisterous, or displaying strength as a tiger spirit person can make a lot of other people nervous.

♞A little quirky, and unorthodox, the Otter is a hard one to figure sometimes. Perceived as unconventional, the Otter methods aren't the first ones chosen to get the job done. This is a big mistake on the part of others - because although unconventional, the Otter's methods are usually quite effective. Yes, the Otter has unusual way of looking at things, but he/she is equipped with a brilliant imagination and intelligence, allowing him/her an edge over every one else. Often very perceptive and intuitive, the Otter makes a very good friend, and can be very attentive. In a nurturing environment the Otter is sensitive, sympathetic, courageous, and honest. Left to his/her own devices, the Otter can be unscrupulous, lewd, rebellious, and isolated.
♞Water animal totems are as vast with meaning as the sea itself.
♞Water is a powerful symbol in itself. It's a sign of cleansing, freedom and mobility. Most significantly, water as a symbol is a universal expression of the unconscious.
♞Therefore, water animal totems help us reveal and identify our hidden thoughts or actions. When these creatures find their way into our lives they need to be honored. If we pay attention, they will aid us in identifying our hidden motives, motives that aren't quite healthy for us.
Water critters are invariably bright and playful. Living up to the freedom that the water sign embodies, water animal totems remind us to live with that same unbridled freedom. We would do well to follow the example of these creatures, and live as if we have no limits.
♞The hallmark of otters is their playfulness. Both the adults and young ones frolic. They toss shells into the water, then dive after them. Otters slide down banks, head-first on their bellies. They float on their backs and chat with each other by chirping, and dive in and out of the water.
Otters are excellent parents and care for their young longer than most other marine mammals. They enjoy the company of other otters and are rarely seen alone. Those with this medicine benefit by living on or close to the water and find comfort in group interactions.
♞The otter is very talkative. When frightened their calls take on an erie piercing sound similar to a baby screaming. They have few natural enemies and are not afraid of humans. During the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska, otters were one of the few creatures that would allow humans to hold them without putting up a fight. As the oil was wiped from their bodies the otter would lie very still in the arms of the one caring for it, unafraid and trusting.
♞When otter appears in your life it is asking you to let go of worry and pain, lighten up and enjoy what life has to offer. Trust your inner knowing , develop trust for others and embrace the world with excitement and enthusiasm. Life is what we make it. The otter shows us how to create a joyful future. All we need to do is follow its lead.

♞Unicorns symbolize the spirit of purity, innocence, and childhood. Almost every traditional legend containing the unicorn states that only a young pure female could attract a unicorn to become visible and be of this reality. Even so, the legend of the unicorn combines male and female in one beast and therefore rich in the symbolism of opposites.
♞This magical and enchanting animal appears to only a rare few and has the ability to bestow magic, miracles and Wisdom to those who are pure of heart and virtuous in their deeds.
♞White is the color of innocence, purity and perfection. White, which is Symbolically similar to silver, represents the lunar, feminine aspects of receptivity, instinct, intuition and virginity. Virginity in its truest metaphysical and alchemical aspect represents the unadulterated (untainted) mind and spirit; it is the prima materia (pure matter) and the prisca sapientia (pristine knowledge, or Wisdom). It is for this reason that to have a Unicorn appear to us is both a great honor and Divine Gift. For, as stated before, only the pure of heart and virtuous of deed are deserving to have a Unicorn appear to them.
♞The Unicorn, unlike all other horned animals save perhaps the rhinoceros, is a single-horned creature. While the two-horned animals are linked, Symbolically, to the realm of duality and matter, the Unicorn's single horn reminds us that its domain is the realm of Unity; a realm that Transcends and exists beyond the bounds of matter and duality.
♞The single, spiraled Horn is a Symbol of the endless, repeating Cycles of Time. It is also Symbolic of the Sword. And as the Sword Symbolizes the mind, the Unicorn's Horn also signifies Unity of Thought and purity of reason. We also notice that this single Horn protrudes from the top of the Unicorn's head which is the location of the crown chakra. The crown chakra is a Border Between Realms; it represents the highest level which our mind can attain and is the Spiritual Gateway to the higher realms of Spirituality and Divine
Consciousness.
♞The magical powers of unicorns are also legendary. Unicorn horns are said to be harder than diamonds and to be able to neutralize poisons. Unicorn tears can heal both physical wounds and sorrows of the heart.
♞A person with the ability to see a unicorn may have a wish granted as a reward. Unicorns are often reputed to have the ability to fly. Some unicorns are believed to be able to speak to all kinds of other creatures.
♞In modern literature, the lure and mystery of unicorns remains. In the recent Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowlings, powerful wands are made with a core of unicorn hair. The blood of a unicorn is also reputed to keep a person alive even if he is very close to death. The ongoing body of literature associated with unicorns and the powers attributed to them will undoubtedly continue to add to their value as symbols of freedom, healing and beauty.
(Sorry about the freaking novels... I'm really into symbolism and stuff >.>)
