[1v1] Wait, You're a What? (Shaboobs vs Zhi)

Zhi had pretty much given up on the idea that Shaheen would give up on trying to fight him. He took care to keep himself alert even as she moved away, certain that, although the war horsewomen had backed away, she definitely wasn't backing down.

Sure enough, a dagger came soaring his way, one that was clearly meant more as a warning than an actual attack. Without missing a beat, the man easily leaned to the side to avoid being hit. Easily done--

--did that dagger just go through his sleeve.

Okay, now he was serious. Without a word, Zhi resummoned his bow, bringing it up and letting an arrow loose in one smooth movement.

Again Shaheen found herself needing to move quickly as an arrow came cutting through the air toward her. She threw herself to the side, but not fast enough as she suddenly felt the sharp, stabbing pain in her shoulder and the warmth of new blood spilled as it ran down her arm and dripped to the earth below. Apparently she had done something to get Zhi's attention, and she could not help the smile, a flash of teeth clenched tightly together, looking more animalistic then human, that spread across her face.

No words were needed anymore. She dove towards him with strong beats of her wings, and slashed out at him with her dagger, not caring in the slightest if she might be ruining his precious clothing.

There were honestly only three things that could provoke Zhiqiang into attack. The first was if the person he was fighting was a hunter, while the second was if one of his fellow horsemen comrades were being attacked. And the third was...

A hiss of pain left his lips when Shaheen's dagger caught him in the side, cutting through the expensive fabric of his clothing and tearing through skin and flesh.

Though of course, his main priority was his outfit. Shaheen was really building up a debt there.

Trying to ignore the warmth of the blood trickling down his side, the Conquest Horsemen jerked backwards, pulling himself out of her immediate attack range. The moment he was in a decent position, he lifted his bow and let an arrow fly in one smooth movement.

She was supposed to know better then to let him get any distance between them. His weapon would not be nearly as effective if she could keep him close by, where as her own could be used both at a distance and up close with some proficiency. Still, he seemed almost angry with her, and while she could not fathom what she had done to warrant such an emotion from him, she was taken aback by it enough that she let him pull away.

Her sudden confusion was rewarded by an arrow that took her near her collar bone, severing one of the straps that held her top in place. For somebody who was incredibly shy over a little bit of bare skin, he sure had a funny way of avoiding a repeat of past events.

She did nothing to attempt to adjust or repair the damage to her clothes. The arrow that had bit into her skin was painful, digging in deep, scraping against bone, a trickle of blood working it's way out of the wound before the arrow disappeared.

She flung her dagger at him in an underhand throw, aimed for his arm that was wielding the bow. Her aim seemed to be slightly off, however, and it was only a glancing blow.

"SHAHEEN!"

The man spluttered in shock, the graze from her dagger going unnoticed and paling in comparison to the mental trauma that he was currently undergoing. Although he was already quite red-skinned, his face seemed to glow with heat as he let out a distressed whimper. He seemed hesitant to shoot at her because he feared hitting one of those things (of course, that had been a very real threat even when she was clothed...but from the way Zhi seemed to see it, if they were covered, then they weren't there).

In the end, Zhi settled for lifting his free hand, jerking his arm sharply to the side as he attempted to slap the horsewomen with his sleeve.

And then he whimpered again.

"What??" She snapped back at him, feeling slightly hurt and now irritable. Her chest wasn't even fully exposed, just more so then usual with the fabric falling forward, revealing more tanned skin then was really necessary, but she was completely unbothered by this. The word was barely even out of her mouth when a sleeve came up and whipped her in the side of the face, leaving a dark red welt that rose up across her cheek, just under her eye.

Really, Zhi? Really?

She resummoned her dagger and threw it again. Though she was tempted to slash out with it to cut at his sleeve and rid him of it's length, she opted to once more aim for the arm that held his bow.

Zhi looked a little more shaky when he lifted his bow this time, his lips pressed together in a thin line. Although he had managed to get quite a nice hit in before, his arrow had resulted in the severing of one of the horsewomen's top's straps. God forbid he hit the other one with this next shot.

Unfortunately (fortunately?), just as he prepared to take aim and shoot, Shaheen's dagger flew towards him from seemingly out of nowhere, burying into the fabric and flesh of his upper right arm. Jerking at the sudden pain, he accidentally released the bowstring, sending the arrow soaring rather clumsily in Shaheen's direction. Desummoning his weapon, Zhi lifted his non-dominant hand and clutched it over his wound the moment the dagger disappeared.

"Ow."

The arrow took her in the upper leg, grazing past but still painful, and still enough to make her stumble forward. Her Fear shield had taken a beating, her skin was streaked with drying blood, but still she would fight on. She would take Zhi down, because she could take Zhi down, and bring honor to the clan of war by defeating a soldier of conquest.

Or at least that's what she liked to tell herself. Not that she was just enjoying herself too much to quit now.

She had to use her wings for balance, to keep from stumbling more as she made her way forward, turning to send a kick towards Zhi's chest but coming up a little short.

This was ridiculous. He had never wanted to fight in the first place, and now that he could feel his FEAR shield flickering, he was even less inclined to continue this. Couldn't they just stop this and call it a tie?

...Of course they couldn't--he was facing off with a War horsewomen, after all, and they were a proud sort to be sure. The same could be said about those from the Conquest clan, but it didn't take a genius to see that Zhi tended to deviate from the "classic" Conquest horseman.

He swatted at her foot when she tried to kick him, his lips spreading into a scowl. She really wasn't going to stop until one of their shields were down, was she?

She would quit, but only if he surrendered first. If he yielded, because he could not fight on, then she would stop, and claim her title as the victor. Then and only then would she stop.

The slap to her foot was unexpected, and her leg came down heavily, her body nearly pitching sideways but again, wings kept her from losing her balance completely.

With a frown, and a side long glance from where she stood, she crossed her arms over her chest, giving him a look that said it all. 'I'm judging you. I'm judging you so hard.'

Zhi stared. And stared. And stared some more.

He was waiting for her to make the first move. Though of course, her "first move" could effectively spell the doom of his FEAR shield, but the Conquest horseman was not so eager to lunge forward and attack her anymore. With his right arm injured, it would do him no good to try shooting at her anymore, and to be frank...he had little confidence in his hand to hand fighting.

...So waiting it was.

He was just staring back at her, not doing a damn thing to end the fight that they (she) had started. With a long suffering sigh she rolled her golden eyes skywards, uncrossing her arms, her dagger back in her hand as she gathered her Fear and imbued power into the blade, which might have begun to glow softly, the only warning Zhi was going to get. He had had his chance to make a move, or to surrender, and had chosen to do neither.

Shaheen cared only for actions, and thought nothing of repercussions or consequences for what she was about to do.

If Zhi still wanted to be her friend after this (had he ever wanted to be one to begin with?) it would be a miracle.

She very suddenly and with quite a bit of force threw herself at him, her wings beating rapidly to add speed to her movements as she drove that dagger home into his chest, putting all of the strength she had left behind the blow, ready to end this and show Zhi that she had meant business.

Had Zhi known what exactly was going to happen, he probably would have started running sooner. By the time he had even an inkling of what the war horsewomen was doing, it was already far too late. The first thing he felt was a surge of pain, starting from the point where the dagger entered his chest and burning outwards from there. His vision began to flicker as he struggled to maintain consciousness...

I'm never...going to get...these blood stains...and holes...out of my clothes...

...And then he blacked out.

HA! That's what you get Zhi. That's what you get.

The War chieftain pulled the dagger back as Zhi crumpled to the ground, wiping the blade off on the front of her leg, head tilting to one side as she looked down on him. He just looked so peaceful and innocent, all knocked out and sprawled in the dirt like that. But she knew better now. He was a soldier, and he could apparently fight. Honestly, she actually felt a bit bad for that last attack, considering he hadn't chosen to do anything similar to her. But...he had just stood there not doing anything! Such acts of defiance could not go unpunished in the midst of a healthy spar.

Her dagger gone, she finally bent down to pick the conquest man up and heft him up over one shoulder, her wings folding in neatly behind her back, soft feathers likely tickling at his nose as she turned, now just noticing the stares she was getting from several members of conquest who had stopped to watch what was going on.

And then she carried him off into the sunset, while in search of somebody who might be able to heal him and bring him back to consciousness.
