There wasn't much Burz could say to that. He didn't know the lioness in question, so he didn't know if she was really stupid or not. It wasn't the most convincing argument Finna could have made, given Burz's estimation of her intelligence.
"She sounds weak," Burz said finally. He had no idea how much or how little the adults around him spared his feelings, but he liked to think that no one did, ever, and that he was more or less always subjected to the unvarnished truth of reality. Of course he also believed in spirits and gods, but they were real.
"I think sea monsters must exist," Burz decided. "If our grandda told Ru to get a tooth from one, there have to be some out there."

Burzum was quiet for a moment, and then he spoke. Which made Finna narrow her eyes only slightly. She wondered if he even believed her. Though after thinking about it, she decided she truly didn't care if he did or not. So she let it go. "She is." She said simply, nodding her head. She wasn't sure she believed in the same things he did. She didn't believe in ghosts, which was what made his claim of being a ghost to others so funny.. In her opinion though, some even believed him. But sea monsters were just not something that she thought could ever exist. "You could be right. Though maybe he just didn't want Ru to come back." She said, looking at her brother again.

"We'll have to come up with some way to get back at her," Burz said.
In some respects Burz was a horrible brother. He thought his siblings were less intelligent and brave than he was, he behaved awfully toward most of them and called them the worst names he could think of, and he showed no mercy. On the other hand, he was fiercely loyal to his family.
It didn't matter so much to him whether Finna was right or wrong. She was his sister and if someone made her unhappy, they would have to suffer. That was just the way it was.
"He wouldn't do that," Burz said firmly. "Kazul's his favorite, and he wouldn't make her unhappy like that."

Finna thought her brother was horrible, same with all her brothers, and her sisters too. Just more competition in her life, was how she saw it. But she didn't dislike them. She just.. had her own thoughts about them. Though she perked when her brother said they should get back at her. She smiled deviantly, nodding. "Yes. Yes let's! We should figure out something incredibly embarrassing." She said. Pain meant little to her, as pain could be overcome. But embarrassment? That was harder to top. An embarrassed Reaver would not like life a whole lot, in her opinion. "Yeah yeah." She said. She wasn't really close with Kazul, and she had been rather judgemental about the lionesses situation. But she didn't dislike her, that she knew of. "What Kazul did was stupid." She said, though she shook her head. She didn't wnat to start an argument, because maybe one day she would be in teh same position. Life was weird sometimes.

Burzum's grin was just shy of evil. He would have to work on that.
"Embarrassing. That sounds good. We have to know more about her, though, so we know what sort of things she'd consider embarrassing."
He wasn't going to start a fight about Finna's opinion. He didn't know the whole story of what had happened with Kazul, but he still thought it was stupid of her to get pregnant like she had. She'd been a lot more fun, he thought, before she was pregnant.
"Unless you already know of something that would be embarrassing, I think we're going to have to do some spying." He liked the idea of following someone around sneakily in preparation for something malicious.
"Maybe we can get the whole family to help." He thought about that and then modified his suggestion. "Just the kids. Probably the grown-ups wouldn't approve."

She smiled at his smile. Happy that he had agreed. She argued a bit with Burz now and again, but truth was she looked up to the boy. He was strong, and brave, and she knew that he was smart. She just wouldn't ever, ever tell him such a thing. She wanted him thinking she thought he was an a**. "I think we should come up with something perfect.." She gave a focused face, before grinning and smirking up at him. "Come on. Let's go figure something out." And she turned, ready to leave. She was tired of sitting here moping. Nothing wuold be done that way.
