Trying for: Pup #2 - love her C: (afterwards Pup 3, Pup 4) Name and Meaning: Mwanake (his child) Future Rank: Guide Please describe their personality: Since the day Mwanake's eyes fluttered open to at last greet the earth, the pale green orbs fixed on Jibwa. His smell, his laugh, even the grumble he sometimes gets in his throat - she adores it. For Mwanake, family is king; thus, her father being the head of her family, she idolizes and reveres him above all else. Although she loves all of her siblings dearly, she does feel that she must at times fight for the attention she feels she so sorely deserves, being daddy's little girl.
Growing up among the all-inclusive Shrinekeepers, Mwanake, at least as a pup, is rather oblivious to the differences between the species. Innocently ignorant, she takes pride in the mane she will one day fashionably sport. In awe of her (unbeknownst to her) lion brothers' claws, she aspires to one day become a Carver, so that she might shine the great Gods' light upon her family and bring pride to the Shrinekeepers. Above all, Mwanake desperately yearns for approval.
When she one day realizes that she will never be adorned with beautiful, sharp claws, her hopes are dashed as to ever becoming a Carver, and she believes that she will never personally bestow divine honor upon her family (this will eventually lead her on a spiritual quest in which she will hopefully encounter a God/dess). Instead, eager to prove her worth to the pride, she becomes a Guide to assist others in finding their true selves through the shrines - even though she herself is a lost spirit, torn between the might of the lion and the lowliness of the scroungy "dog".
RP Prompt Response: Your cub/pup has just learned that not all their siblings are really their siblings! They are, in fact, two separate species - some of you are wild dogs like mom, and some are lions like dad. How does it react to the news?
Her paws were slipping on ice, unable to grasp any solid thing to hold steady to: the world spun, as though she'd been hit. Mwanake might as well have been. Shasha's falsely encouraging words became a mere blur in the background of Mwanake's concept of the world around her as she stood, spinning. Spinning.
Her eyes slowly lifted to meet her father's. Her father. This stranger, that she had so affectionately called Daddy.
"Who's little girl am I now?" She blurted as hot tears began to trickle down her soft puppy cheek.
Who was she, if not her father's daughter? Was she not named "his child"? Who were they, these siblings who had always looked so alike to her? These "wild dogs", they were no more her siblings than the... the... Mwanake burst into tears, ashamed of the small yip that echoed through her throat.
Lions. They were lions.
Her parents seemed concerned; siblings, curious, perhaps a few even excited. How could that be? How could they be so impassive to their lineage? To know that Mom... Mom... Mwanake shifted her eyes to an anxious Shasha, and glared like a petulant child. This was all her fault.
With a growl much like that which she had learned from Jibwa as a young pup, Mwanake sauntered away, ignoring her mother's desperate cry. It was all background noise, this despair. It seared deep within her heart to recognize these clawless paws, this yappy growl, these strange, strange faces... what was real anymore?
Ocean eyes turned sadly on the lion she had once regarded as her father.
"I love you," Mwanake paused, "Jibwa." Daddy.
Without a glance towards her mother, Mwanake quickly slipped away into the dark night.
When your cub/pup is older, how will it feel about everything? While her feelings towards her father will remain the same, Mwanake will grow resentful of her mother during her juvenile years for having brought her into the world as a pitiful "dog". However, as she ages, Mwanake will instead find strength in Shasha that she had not until then recognized, and, eventually trying to uncover her own identity as a wild dog, look to her mother for assistance and wisdom, as well as for a confidante to Mwanake's deep secret - that she too feels romantically attracted to lions.
Trying to find herself, and with the guide of a God, Mwanake will set out in a desperate search of her true roots - at the risk of hurting the father which she adores so deeply - to find her birth father.

Trying for: Pup 3 then cub 3 Name and Meaning: Mkali'mawazo (Bright mind in swahili) Future Rank: Carver Please describe their personality: Lively and bubbly, she will always be energetic and adventurous. She can be a little wild and willful and doesn't really seem to notice the social boundary everyone else adheres to. She will befriend a snake just as fast as she would another wild dog. As an adult she will be a hard worker, but she will also play hard, often getting her siblings into trouble with one prank or another even after she grows to maturity. A bit of a 'punk' she is still however a family girl and will always stand up for what she thinks is right.
She discovers a skill with carving and enjoys creating intricate and interesting designs.. not that she will always enlighten you as to the meaning in her work...
RP Prompt Response: Your cub/pup has just learned that not all their siblings are really their siblings! They are, in fact, two separate species - some of you are wild dogs like mom, and some are lions like dad. How does it react to the news?
It had been a pretty shocking afternoon, one that had started innocently enough with a question that had been on all their minds of late... Why had some of them been growing much larger than others? The answer had set the entire litter into a panic and each was now coping with it in their own way. ---- watched two of her brothers fighting over a stick not too far away. It seemed so normal, despite the revelation they had all suffered. They had been fighting over that same stick for three days now and while the insults had changed somewhat, from 'you are stupid!' to 'You are a stupid lion!', everything else was remarkable the same. Puffing out a deep breath the young wild dog dropped her head on her paws and frowned at her brothers. They were still her brothers! She had grown up with them arguing like this almost every day, and knew that if some stranger turned up, the brothers would be just as quick to defend each other as they had been to argue earlier.
Casting a glance to the side she eyed another youngster, this one was a leopon named Konani who she had befriended recently. The cub was big and burly for his age, surprisingly clumsy too and had two fathers. But he was so sweet and would always come say hello to her, and had frightened off a coupe of bullies when they had tried to pick on her while she had been snooping away from the den. If his less-than-typical family life didn't seem to bother him.. why should her unexpected family situation upset her? Why should anything change now when they had all been raised together from before she could even remember? Her brothers still acted like her brothers, and her sisters still bugged her on occasion. She still loved them all! Turning to look over at her parents she gave a tiny shrug and smiled widely.
Nope... nothing had really changed....
When your cub/pup is older, how will it feel about everything? Once she grows to adolescence she will go through a phase of asking 'why' and will come to understand just how different her family is. (Which she just hadn't thought to question as a younger pup). Her first crush will make her terribly awkward with the topic of her family, as she wont really know how to explain it to an outsider. But eventually she will learn that what others think just is not worth the heartache and if they can't accept her family for who and what they are, then she just wont bother with you.

Trying for: Cub 1 Name and Meaning: Faraji (Comfort in swahili) Future Rank: Shifter, due to his size Please describe their personality: A bit of a gentle giant, as he is so much larger than several of his siblings, --- is very aware of his strength and the fact that he might hurt the smaller sisters and brothers in his family. This causes him to grow into a quiet and calm adult, one who uses his size (for he is indeed big even for a lion) to protect those smaller than himself. A total pacifist he enjoys simply watching over his siblings and parents and one day hopes to have his own female who he loves as much as his parents love each other. A total sap and a soft touch, he could easily be taken advantage of if it wasn't for his family looking out for him. RP Prompt Response: Your cub/pup has just learned that not all their siblings are really their siblings! They are, in fact, two separate species - some of you are wild dogs like mom, and some are lions like dad. How does it react to the news?
The news had been a shock, that was for sure, but it also explained quite a lot of things and answered a lot of questions he had been silently asking himself for some time now. In a way it was almost a relief to know why he was so much bigger than many of his siblings. He was not just a freak of nature, there was a real, honest reason why he and two of his siblings were so much bigger. Some of his siblings seemed to be upset or angry, but if he were honest, he was simply relieved. This was his family, it didn;t change how he felt about them, but it did help him feel more secure in his own skin, knowing that his size wasn't some mistake, but simply due to his unknown second mother.
Giving himself a faint shrg and a wry smile, he watched as his canine sister came racing towards him, chased by a feline brother. Chuckling he reached out and snagged her in his paws, tumbling her against his chest with a rumbly laugh just before he jumped over her and pounced his brother. Time to play 'hero'!
When your cub/pup is older, how will it feel about everything? He wont really be too worried about the whole thing, having accepted it as a kid ad loving his family as deeply as he does, he wont see any reason to change who they are.
