Aoi the Crossdresser Lotsa laptop users. And yeah desktops are more useful for gaming. Like I can't even play DOOM or something on my laptop cuz it will turn off in like 20 minutes cuz it's too hot. Stupid. My computer randomly turns off when it's too hot or when I am doing something like playing computer games or on like google maps street view. My old crap laptop from 2005 never randomly turned off on me. Isn't that a sign to get a desktop for gaming?

Why would you do that?
I mean, sure there are some games that are just better on a console, like, nintendo games, or like, Katamari. but a lot of games like Skyrim, or really any game where personalizing the key commands makes the game easier to deal with.
Then again, It probably helps that my boyfriend has made my computer, so it's got something like 16 gigabytes of ram and a terrabyte of memory, so it runs smoother than our internet runs.

Isn't that, all consoles do though? in general I mean?
Sure they aren't as hard anymore, but a lot of them still contain rich storylines, good graphics, and long amounts of non grinding gameplay. I don't see how new games being bad should influence what system you play on.

Cuz yeah I don't think my brothers will buy any new video game for as long as they live. sad They never play video games anymore. They will never buy a WII U or anything else like it. A new video game will never be bought by them ever again.

More power for less money. less likely to overheat. can't say they're bad. Specially if you don't need the mobility and would rather save the money or get the extra power. That being said, I do have a laptop, it's useful for work. but at home, the desktop is the better system, more powerful. I just use an external hard drive to transfer files from the laptop to the desktop. It lets me work at a coffee shop sometimes.

I don't consider the Ipad or Smartphone the future. It's a route of the computer. I don't think they'll overturn the laptop or the desktop. It's more portable, but much less powerful, and a lot worse for memory.
I could never do my work on an ipad, or a kindle, or any sort of tablet compared to a desktop or a laptop. My desktop isn't going to be replaced, it's a 16 gig, 1 terrabyte. it can store twice what my laptop can, and is about 4 times as fast.
Well, not 4 times as fast, more like it's able to do 4 times as much without losing any speed.
Truthfully I don't get the whole computer stuff, I know mine is very powerful. But it was built by my boyfriend, it's got a whole bunch of interesting things to it, that besides the RAM, memory, screen size (32 inches, it's also our tv), and something about a water cooling system. The parts were quite expensive, but, I'm still happy about how it works.

I have 2.2 Ghrtz processor and 4GB memory with a 500GB harddrive. My 2005 laptop was only 20GB hard drive with a 256mb memory and 1 ghrtz processor but that came out in 2004. My laptop is already much better than the desktops my parents use.

oh, yeah, that was my desktop.
My laptop is only an 8 gig memory, with a 400 gig hard drive. but I always carry my 500 external drive with my laptop.
He's actually mentioned something about making my laptop and computer better this christmas. Honestly I'd rather he buy me something besides technology things.

Your laptop overheats that much? Wow.. what a POS...
My netbook (so basically really low-end gear due to theoretically only being used for web surfing and word processing) can run older games just fine without overheating. Starcraft, Diablo II, Ragnarok Online....
But it can't handle flash very well (flash is pretty rough even on good computers) so I couldn't play ZOMG much... But again, it doesn't overheat or crash... just uber-lags.
That's the problem with laptops, Aoi. They're inferior technology due to needing to be shrunk down and portable.
The future had better not be touch interfaces. I really hate it. Your fingers are too big to be accurate enough for what you need to do. So unless we move up to jumbo touch screens (so no longer as super-portable as tablets and smartphones), they'll always be inferior. That or we take a step backward and return to a stylus.
