Following Ru at a slower pace, Galning was actually far enough behind him that he got to be the beneficiary of all that Ru had already done.

He followed nearly in Ru's paw prints to avoid Jakk's notice, although a part of him wondered if he might not succeed in taking a few of the beads he saw in the lion's mane. After all, the tawny lion was already so very drunk. It took Ru's hiss to remind him that they weren't there for petty theft. There was a purpose to their visit and if he screwed it up by botching an attempt at slight of hand, there would be all kinds of hell to pay.

Galning stopped short when he heard Ru talking and doing a not so bad job at pretending to be a pirate. He was glad Ru had been the first one to encounter somebody that couldn't be avoided (he didn't realize Ru had physically bumped into the adolescent). In his place, Galning probably would have panicked, growled, and started a bloody mess.

He looked over his shoulder at his cousin, trying to shoot him a significant warning glance as he skirted around the lion Ru had just spoken to. He was trying to tell his cousin with his eyes to be vewy vewy quiet.

Kardas caught sight of a scruffy looking lion, and immediately did his best attempt at a drunken wobble. It was pretty convincing, and when he jarred the other male he deftly swiped something off of the male. There was no time to look, really - it would have to wait until later.

Much later.

As he did an about face from the lion, he was able to maneuver his way away from the dark maned lion. An instant later, he was mashing into two other lions - briefly excusing himself with a muttered, "Oh ah, shiver me timbers, matey." He wasn't sure how to talk pirate, no matter how much time he spent around their lands. Drunk and dense as all hell, that's what they were, and he did his very best to slur his words to make everything just a little bit more convincing.

He was able to make it past one other lion. Kardas thanked his lucky stars.

Moth's ears twitched as he thought he heard a strange sound in the distance during Ru's and the youngster's exchange. But he quickly lost interest, and continued to worry and fret over his mane.

"Maybe I can... spruce it up a bit? Tie a bit of seaweed in it? No, no... to slimy and slippery... Not to mention fishy! What about a flower? Haha, too girly..." He huffed as all his ideas were rejected and flopped once again in the sand, his journey towards the caverns forgotten about for the time being.

As he pondered what to do next, he completely missed out the presence of strangers. After all, he didn't want to be seen by anyone in his state, so he wasn't making his usual effort to be noticed. And he didn't really care about his surroundings, either.

The fat little bat wobbled through the air. Watching him, one would think he'd been dipping into those fermented apples, but no, he just had no sense of balance. His hearing and echo location were in perfect working order, but since birth, he'd had the most erratic and unstable way of getting around. His wings fluttered and twitched and jerked so strangely that it was hard to tell which way he was intending to go, exactly.

With a grunt and a squeak, he skimmed the head of the fuzzball with seaweed in its hair, then went tumbling across the ground head over paws beneath the feet of the viking force. He came to a stop with a wheeze, seeming to suddenly ooze into a relaxed position on his belly. "Ugh," he squeaked out his nose, just laying there stunned for a moment. Goodness, he had to figure out an easier way of landing than that!

Pili sat up, not sure what had woken him. He looked around for a moment, bleary eyed, before he rose to his paws and wobbled. He saw some lions, but shrugged. Probably a crew that had been out for a while... Testing the new blood, he'd heard some captains call it. He took a few wobbling steps, licking his maw. Oh those spirits hit hard... The black and white lion let out a yawn and an unceremonious belch before starting to walk. He soon ran into Jakk, a grin spreading on his face. "Jakk! On yer way to the pub, too?" He stretched, before watching the others going by. "Mph, wish the world'd stop spinnin' a moment... Then I can enjoy the spirits better..." He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to clear his vision. It wasn't easy, though, and everything remained somewhat wobbly in the dark. He couldn't see anything clearly.

It is certainly fine to toss anybody in that you want at any point. It will be assumed that they've been there the whole time, avoiding mishaps.

At this point it can be assumed that everyone else in Ru's band has managed to catch up with Ru and Kardas without mishap.

The band continues into the pride, walking along the beach so that the water can erase their paw prints and therefore any evidence of their passage. All of them are on the lookout for likely-looking caves, since Kardas says that's where the treasure will be found.

All members of Ru's band should roll 1d10 for perception.
If they roll...
1 they get knocked over by a wave.
2-3 they sense nothing of use, but notice there's a bat moving erratically.
4-6 they hear voices behind them and on their landward size.
7-9 they see many paw prints leading in the same direction (on more solid ground, of course).
10 they see a creepy rock that looks like a skull partly submerged in the surf.

((OOC: Sweet heart Been waiting for this RP just for the moment Munyu and Pili meet up xd ))

Munyu listened to the pirates, and the other vikings making pirate faketempts, and simply kept his eyes low. He didn't want anybody looking directly at him at the moment... He wasn't entirely sure why. The white and black lion flicked his ears, feeling... Odd. He finally looked up and around as they left the pirates behind, but only saw a bat. Was that thing.. Drunk? Getting close and dropping his voice to not attract attention, he went over to Ru. "Now I wish I'd brought Nondo, she'd have fun going after that bat, if only because it'd be fun to heckle..." It'd be funny to watch, at least. He then looked at the ground, for any sign they were going the right way.

"I'm not sure Nondo would have been able to see that bat," Ru replied to Munyu. "I don't know if vultures can see in the dark."

What he didn't know about vultures and other preybeasts could fill books, if he'd known what a book was, how to write, and all that. It could certainly be the subject of a painfully long and boring ballad or saga. Like a genealogy recited by lawspeakers, but recording ignorance rather than lineage. Ru wouldn't really appreciate such a thing being written.

"Try to look less suspicious, would you? We're supposed to look like we belong here."

Ru had decided that it would be more practical to just pretend to be pirates rather than try to sneak through the pride, but pretending to be a pirate really didn't come naturally to him or most of the lions with him. He knew he was looking around too much, trying too hard to see and hear everything. But that's how he noticed the profusion of paw prints leading away from the beach.

He nudged Munyu. "See those?"
____

Galning was looking around in wonderment, just as Ru was, really. He had never met a pirate before, and although he'd heard horrible things about them, he couldn't help but be curious. So far he mostly got the impression that they weren't very clean. Not that Galning himself was a shining example of hygiene, but he was beginning to find a serious appreciation for cleanliness. Stormborn didn't smell like that. How in the world did pirates manage to sneak?

There were a few lions that passed him, and a few even -touched- him. He shivered a little, not really the type to enjoy when others got in his personal space. But he was the king of doing it to others, so he didn't much mind. He hadn't even noticed that a trinket from his mane had been swiped. Though he did stop to stare at sky-colored lion. He narrowed his eyes, but shrugged it off.

"You may want to get that looked at, friend." He said, and pointed to the whole of Kardas's face. He was drunk, so it didn't particularly make sense. But it could have been a insult if someone had taken it that way.

That was when his eyes met Pili's and he grinned. Walking over to his friend, he flung a paw over his shoulders.

"Drink up me hearties yo ho!" He called out loudly. "Very bad eggs!" And then they were swaying together.

"We have some new blood out tonight.. In drones.. And they particularly stink, and are rather ugly." He pointed out, nodding exhuberantly.
PostPosted: Wed Dec 12, 2012 8:01 am
"I thought I didn't recognize any'a 'em... Think they went after them stinkin' vikings?" It'd explain the smell! He then paused, frowning. "Jakk, what're ye doin..." He swayed with his friend, the frown vanishing to be replaced by a grin, before the frown came back. "Eatin' bad eggs? Ye saw what they did t' that one poor little lad when he ate one... Upchucked for hours." It had been disgusting, for sure, and yet rather funny. He licked his maw, before smiling again. "I think it be time for some drinks, aye?" Then again, they were pirates. It was always time for some drinks.

This night even a sober lion would think he was seeing double. A pair of corsair's were out tonight after a long evening working in the pub but these two were not normal. They looked exactly alike down to almost every detail. Only one thing set them apart and that was their noses. One had a white nose and the other a black but in the darkness who could see such a detail.

Both Jasiri and Imara enjoyed playing tricks using their natural abilities and tonight it was the double trouble game on drunk lions. They were off duty and ready to confuse the drunks. They didn't have to look far to find some drunk lions either. A pair of drunken males were coming towards the pub. The pair looked to one another and grinned.

"These boys look like they could use some assistance don't you think Imara?" Jasiri asked.

Imara nodded. "They sure do." She replied and then they awaited the males to come to them.

Of course, the one night that Kardas tried to get this group to find the Pirate King's treasure... every pirate and their mother was drunkenly toddling around. Kardas moved faster, the sound of voices coming from behind him slightly off-putting.

More than slightly, if he let himself think about it too deeply.

"Hurry up," he grumbled under his breath in Ru's direction. "I'm getting nervous."

User ImageThree lions walked across the sand towards the water in... well, less than companionable silence, each a different size than the other.
Two males flanking a smaller female.

Black Bart was a bright ray of sunshine in the middle of the night, his bright golden coat shining in the moon's light. He was the shorter of the two males, thinner, too, his coat refined. His black-as-night mane was perfectly groomed as was the rest of him and he walked with the confidence of a male as close to being a captain as a crew lion could be. He was confident, cocky, and a ladies' male.
Where a smile usually rested on his face, he had something of a frown. And every so often, he kept glancing at the lioness between him and his third companion.

User ImageDou the giant was more than a head taller than the female tucked between him and his "commander." He was a huge, fluffy lion who most thought was a little dim. He rarely talked, didn't seem to have much of an opinion, took orders without question, and was one hell of a brute-for-hire. He was Bart's best friend and most loyal "follower." He also seemed to have a look of mild concern, but then again it could just be his slow mind thinking of the ocean as he walked along. Every once in a while, his leg brushed against the lioness' shoulder.

The female, a perfect match to the moonlight out on the ocean. Rime, the Dragon's daughter, Jakk's sister, and the resident ice queen continued walking along, somewhat ignoring the males at her sides. It was strange that they would flank her, considering that if they were a ship, she would be the lowest member in the crew. She had half a mind to tell the males off, to send them away and yet she couldn't seem to bring herself to say the words. Or anything for that matter.
User ImageBarth and Dou were her closest friends, they'd been like really older brothers or uncles her whole life. Barth would take her on adventures when she was little and Dou would tell her little stories sometimes. Barth was usually her rock, Dou the silent ocean to confide in. No matter what she was going through, she couldn't send them away.

"Come on, lass. Bit o' shell hunting on a night like this, bettin' you'll be winning who finds the best ones. You'll be finding a cowrie tonight, I'm sure,"
Barth finally said with one of his small, flirty smiles that was never given in any seriousness to her. The pale female snorted, raising Barth's hopes. He wanted his Rime back, she hadn't been the same since she'd come back from her adventure to the desert.

"I always find the best ones, Barth, you know that."

User ImageThe two youngsters disappeared into the darkness, absolutely appalled by the number of times they had seen lions they were unfamiliar with roaming about. Maybe they should make a point of getting to know the crew better? Regardless, Tamu continued to usher little Flounder along, given the fact that she would absolutely not stand for giving up this foolish errand. The pair continued to scour the grounds in search of something to take back to the pirates to prove they would both make fantastic crewmen eventually.

Another lion was out and about, however, and his inky black fur seemed to absorb all the light coming off the moon. His lava like markings glittered and he was in a foul temper, but when was he not? He did his best to mask it when around the pirates, but as of late he'd been avoiding others and they him, given his proneness to lashing out with claw or tongue. His defeat at En Gedi burned him. He'd failed his father, the God of Hate, and he boiled with his own hatred.

He wanted revenge.

But tonight he just wanted some fermented fruit and a buzzy feeling. He'd had a bit to eat and his head was swimming. He was much nicer when inebriated.

"Oi, what you lot up to, eh?" He shook out his dark, tangled mane and approached Jakk and Munyu.
