"Oh, of course!" Jani replied eagerly as the boy suggested that he stay a bit longer and learn about the pride. She was convinced that it was his destiny to remain here - particularly with that name - but as he didn't seem to like the idea much she wouldn't bring it up again.

"Since you're somewhat recovered, we should head to a less central area of the pride. The dens of the terminally ill aren't too far from here, and we don't want to expose you to any unnecessary risks," she explained as they both rose to their feet and headed away from the water.

"To start with, this is a pride that welcomes any and every race under the sun..."
