User ImageMost of the adults around her were fully focused on Myuto's words, however, Muhali was not entirely bothered by them; they were nonsense as far as she was concerned. Or well, not exactly nonsense, mind you, but twisted and turned in a seer's round about way.

The muses could only really come back if she willed them to, and this was thus, no threat, so thus, the goddess turned her head away from the obvious commotion and focused herself on the child that had valiantly come out of hiding and was currently sitting at her feet. Her head lowered towards Hana and she offered the cub another wink, "Well, I was thinking about singing and dancing, but given how shaken up and serious everyone is at the moment, it might be rude, lil one. We might have to wait. I wouldn't worry about a thing though, it's all gonna be just fine. Nothing bad's gonna happen."

She would have bet her life on that statement, because she was willing to fight to back it up, and despite her looks... she'd been around much, much longer than most gods. She couldn't even remember her last reincarnation, many, upon many generations of mortals ago. Muhali had learned a thing or two in her life and such vague prophesies did not bother her.

Her head turned back to Myuto as he spoke though, and her eyes narrowed again, "Mother of muses, huh? They seek the goddess herself then?" a brow arched, "Do your visions tell you why they seek her, seer?" oh, but the irony though! "Eeeeh..." she turned to offer Shandor and Fireheart a look both, "It's not entirely out the kindness of their heart; they offer us a warning, and they clearly need a place to stay," she shrugged, "It's not nearly as suspicious. They just need a place to crash. I say... keep their words in mind and let them stay till they need."

User ImageAs Fireheart spoke up, Chi's ears flattened back, offering the Gypsy queen a glare. She'd been a slave all her life, and sadly... her manners still needed a bit of refining. She'd gone from never being able to voice her thoughts and feelings to being able to voice them all the time, and sadly, it did not work miracles for her sociability. The small lioness still needed to find that 'middle ground', per se.

As it was however, she was extremely upset, frustrated, and did not feel even the least bit welcome, which she frankly thought was absolute crap, given the fact they were really only here to help. She'd not yet bothered to place herself in their shoes, but then again... she was working on that middle ground element still, "We just need a place to stay till the storm passes, that's all. And then, we'll leave you all alone to do... whatever it is you guys like to do?" a pause, followed by a very weary sigh, the small lioness having very obviously spent herself in her anger, "Please? Myotu needs to rest too... he was recently hurt really bad saving me. I just really want to find a nice, safe place where rogues can't get us, where I can look at his wound and make sure everything's okay without having to worry about some psychotic rogue trying something weird on us," another sigh, "Just please."

It sounded like some grave grave news. Goofies ears folded back. He wandered just how the muses were to come back after they had up and left them be. It was of great concern. Even if the muses were to come back though it was likely he'd stay. He'd never known any other home but the kizi's lands and would stay as long as he was able.

Though he could not recall the time of muses in his youth he knew that it had torn his family apart and thus Goofy was not for them.

The two strangers sought out shelter. That seemed harmless enough. Who wouldn't want to stay in the kizi for some time. Who wanted to risk a random rogue attack? And after all she had said please. Goofy didn't think to much in to it.

"Well she did say please?" The big lion tilted his head with a silly smile. He hoped they'd stay. No lion needed to be in harms way. Oh wait.. Had he'd said that out loud? He tightened his muzzle immediately and looked to the ground.

First a warning, and now they asked to stay. There were so many possibilities, so many different outcomes. These two were bringing the warning, but they could also be the source of their warnings as well, asking for refuge in the pride they meant to harm. Or their warnings could be genuine. To try and bring back the goddess of Insanity, the one who had started the curse in the first place...Asker felt sick. He couldn't imagine what having a muse was like, but the young male didn't want his judgement clouded. He didn't want something always whispering in his ear, distracting him. As a fighter, that was a very dangerous thing to be afflicted with.
He sighed. They couldn't turn the strangers away. All were allowed to rest within the Kizingo'Zaa's borders. It wouldn't be right to change that policy now. It would cause unnecessary unrest in the pride and it would alarm their neighbors, the Bahari. And if this seer had seen the coming trouble, then perhaps he would receive another vision to give them more insight. It could prove useful to keep them around.
But this was for Riddle Mouth and Fireheart to decide. He would only voice his opinion if asked, as was his place. He turned to check on Hana, ready to step back and sit by her, only to find the lioness who had been in the tree now next to his sister. Asker frowned. He had seen her once or twice. A mummer? It seemed to fit. The male decided to stay where he was, ready to pounce if necessary.

Dhoru felt nearly itchy with frustration; what was the use in bringing them a vague warning when this so-called seer didn't have any details? For all Myotu knew, he could be winding the pride up and getting them worried about something that might not even happen in their lifetime!

With a sigh, Dhoru forced himself to relax. If he was honest with himself, he knew it wasn't the strangers fault. Some seers just weren't able to control their abilities, and at least he had taken the time to warn them at all. He really did wish he knew more about the situation so he could protect his pride, though.

His ears perked forward when Chi spoke. He could definitely relate to her anxiety about Myotu - it was never nice when someone you cared for was hurt, and the rogue lands definitely could be dangerous. In his mind, the strangers were welcome to stay, but he knew it wasn't his place to decide so he just stood silently and waited.

-------

Hana's first reaction was one of repulsion - Singing and dancing? No thank you! - but the image of Muhali frolicking around among the serious and stiff lions around her definitely brought a smile to her maw.

Her attention was grabbed again by the strangers at the same time as Muhali's. His words were rather intriguing - as was Muhali's reaction to them - and she found herself suspicious of the pair.
She reacted much the same as her brother when they requested shelter. She was very uneasy about welcoming strangers who brought negative warnings with them; but it wasn't like her opinion would matter, and besides, it was pride custom to offer sanctuary to those in need.

She made a mental note to keep an eye on the two strangers if Riddle Mouth and Fireheart allowed them to stay.

It had taken him far too much time to finally get here, but at least he had managed. His limp was worth than ever as he tried to squish through the packed crowd of lions to reach both his mate and his children. All of which had a much wider range of motion than he did. His mood was bitter as he tried to politely make his way to the front, and it didn't get any better when some lions simply wouldn't budge. Though a faithful growl would soon part his path, it did little to satisfy his need for respect. He had respected these lions since his arrival here, should he not gain the same in return?

As he pushed through the crowds a familiar voice broke through the chaos ... Asker. Vodnitvar's ears perked in question as he listened to his words. The muses had returned? Vodnitvar had thanked his lucky stars that he had found Fireheart after the muses had left. He could never imagine himself being part of something so ridiculous as a that. Quickening his slow pace, he kept a close ear out for the conversation and scowled every time the unfamiliar voices spoke up. How dare they speak so rudely to her!

Finally - he managed to break through the final barrier, and found himself only a few steps away from his mate and children. He smiled gruffly, ruffling the children's manes as he passed, before stopping along side her. Reaching over a paw, he placed it atop her's and allowed himself to lean into her. He knew she would help to support him, she always had.

"Mighty funny how you can be so calm and polite when you are in need. Though just moments ago you were speaking far out of turn. Perhaps you shouldn't get too big for your own britches there eh?" Giving the new female a very stern look, he alternated between both her companion and her. Though he felt the male's pain, and knew his injury should be treated immediately, he in no way condoned this female's attitude.

The poor lioness was nearly tripping over herself as she followed her mate's scent. She had been out late the night before, chatting eagerly with the stars. It seemed they always had the most interesting stories to tell when she had a busy day the next day. Now here she stood, wobbly on her feet and trying to find her Dhoru, to find out exactly what he was up to today. She was supposed to begin practicing her routine for the Mummers Ball, and she really wanted Dhoru to help her. This was a big deal, both her and Mali would be headlining the opening act, and it was beginning to weigh heavily on her nerves.

As she waddled around with half lidded eyes, she was startled awake as she bumped into another lion. "Oh! So sorry, please forgive me." Dipping her head low to the ground, Nema lifted her head and swished her bangs from her eyes to get a better look around.

Dhoru was definitely here, she could smell him. But why was he here?

Better yet ... why were any of these lions here?

"D-Dhoru?" She called nervously, hoping her giant fluffball would come running.

Hima had been here throughout the entire encounter, lying lazily underneath one of the trees a bit of a ways away from the main thicket of lions. From her position she could hear everything that was going on, though that did nothing for her. It was almost as if each of them were talking in some kind of code. Muses ... Queens .... Storms?

What the hell were they going on about? Truthfully she had not the slightest clue, but that wouldn't stop her from eavesdropping just the same.

It seemed things were getting a little heated, and perhaps even interesting. But then came a gruff looking lion, who looked pretty weak, his limp was unmistakable. So was his distaste for the group before them.

"Huh. Looks like they'll let anyone voice an opinion around here."

Though she quickly overlooked her own response, allowing her thoughts to focus on one lion and one lion alone. The King. The one her sights had been set on from day one. He was second only to Nema .. who had still yet to appear.

User Image

Vanellope had followed her siblings example and slipped out of the den after Momma and before Papa. But now that she was here, she was even more confused than ever before. Perhaps confused wasn't the right word ... scared? Yes scared was definitely a word she though fit. These strangers were spooky, and came bearing warnings of dangers to come. Things like the muses ... muses ... MUSES! Vanellope let out a gasp as she realized who that included. "Aunt Nema!" She whined, her ears sinking low to her skull as she tried to sink all of it in. These strangers were warning of a group .. coming to seek the muses .. that meant Aunt Nema could be in danger!

Now frantic, poor Vanellope had begun to pace heavily on her front paws. Looking around nervously for the only two lions she wanted to see right now. That's when she saw the familiar white, orange, and blue colors flashing from under a tree nearby. With a large grin on her face, she slowly snuck away from the crowded area and headed towards the lioness.

Merciless, pitiless, heartless. That creature had departed so long ago, and thank the gods for that. What few gave two flying rats about them now. "They'll come here and find nothing." Shandor said as much for the benefit of his pride as for the benefit of the two strangers.

He then raised his voice. "The muses are dead. Their master has left this land with the blessing of another god. Thieves has made us sharp and keen, gypsies. Such a thing would never get past our eyes. Little does."

Shandor glanced back at the commotion behind him. More gypsies from the shadows. A fantastic first impression to what may be a threat to them. He glanced shortly to Straw Dog and gave him a short dip of his head.

"Well out of turn or not- we are not above some hospitality for an injured lion and a lovely face. What do you all say? Do we give these strangers a princely welcome? She did say please, as Goofy has kindly reminded us."

Myuto lifted his weary eyes to the blue-striped lioness and gave a bob of his shoulders. "My visions are vague and dark. They flicker like shadows beside a flame. I can see only the shadows in my mind's eye. The rest has to be seen in full when it comes along."

He looked over to Chi and frowned. She needed rest too, and clearly some food. She always got cranky when she was a little peckish. She also hadn't slept much. He'd noticed- even though she tried to pretend otherwise. He felt her eyes over him while he tried to rest for what time they allowed themselves. He knew she fretted over the injury.

Then she continued and he flushed. Saving her... it was nothing. The lion looked away and cleared his throat. "We... also were interested in seeing the big-water. We have only heard tell of it. And I made a promise to prove that it existed."

Another lion spoke, this one a male with a pronounced limp. Myuto stood up a little straighter, forcing himself to put pressure on his injured leg. Looking beaten was far from respectful. There was a strange air around that one... a strong, proud one. "Our manners are a little road-weary, but you must understand, we took great pains to get here in time. We've not slept since the encounter with a hostile rogue. We aren't ourselves."

"Careful!" A high pitched voice called out from the back of the pack. There was a gathering- and that meant...something. Something important. Maybe. She'd not heard a word of the conversation this far and, frankly, Miakis was known for having the memory of a goldfish.

She looked around, her eyes wide. "....they might be jellyfish. They bite with their butts you know."

More paws hitting the ground filled her ears, but Fireheart did not turn to look at the Kizi that continued to filter in. She heard more and more voices and mentally ran through a check-list of who was in attendance. She wasn't terribly surprised to find that most of her children had appeared, and when a familiar scent reached her nose she relaxed just a bit. Vodnitvar was at her side moments later, resting against her stronger frame. His leg had been bothering him more as of late, as it tended to do in the wet season.

The general consensus seemed to be to let them stay. She had her doubts, but as a Kizi, she couldn't refuse them shelter. They had warned them of danger but did not present it themselves, unless you counted the running of ones mouth to be dangerous. Chi's flame had cooled, though, and Fireheart's respect for her increased just a bit. She knew what it was like to have someone dear to you in pain, as her mate leaning against her said.

Looking over at Riddle Mouth, she gave just a small nod of agreement. "So long as you pose no threat to us, we will not pose a threat to you," she said, turning her gaze back to the two. "But be mindful that words are powerful. You are passionate," she said, turning her attention to the female. "And that is to be commended. But passion can blind you, and while you're here, it's best to keep your eyes open and clear at all times."

It was a fair enough warning. She was sure the lions knew what they were getting themselves into. Two against a whole pride would be a short fight indeed, and she knew that once there was just a speck of trouble, the jungle would descent upon the perpetrators with claws and teeth and viciousness that would either kill them or send them on their way worse for the wear. But, as long as they kept their heads down and remained polite, they would have nothing to fear.

The red-haired male lion frowned at many of the other lions, Fireheart at least not included. "Now hold on, guys..." He calmly walked over, trying to relax. "These folks need a place to weather the storm..." He looked back to the other lions, one eyebrow up. "Weren't many of us in this same position at one point in our lives, those of us not born in the pride's lands? Needing shelter, somewhere to stay..." He looked over to the lion and lioness again. "You are tired and weary, any shortness from you is understandable. Forgive me if I sounded sharp, myself... It's not you who's had me on edge, it's... Something else entirely." The strange group hanging around the border... THEY had him on edge, and Flower Lord had noticed that when he was on edge, many others were on edge.

Well, he had her there. Aurora sat down, giving a snort. "Well... I suppose I don't mind them staying if the leaders don't mind..." Her eyes then drifted to the blue lioness, frown growing. She made sense... "They ARE offering a warning..." Yellow eyes moved back to the large lion and his diminutive companion. "I'd ask how we can trust you... But I'm not the best lion to ask that kind of question." Sometimes she didn't trust herself.

Duck swallowed, listening to Fireheart's words, then moved around the pair, finding a place amid the many others. The tiny figure following stuck close, and hid very well behind his large cream paws. "To be fair..." He ignored the look his mother gave him, then paused, looking at the blue lioness in mild confusing. "I have no idea who you are..." He shook his head. "But that's not what I was getting at... Flower Lord has a point. Many of you WERE in that same position... Either alone in the world, or alone save for one other... Looking for somewhere to call home, or somewhere to seek shelter for a while..." He motioned with a paw. "Few prides would let them get even THIS far, as it is!" Some seemed too keen on KEEPING lions, though... "What have they got to lose coming to us looking for help? We're already a very eclectic lot, aren't we? They'd fit right in!" He ducked as his mother chucked a rock at his head, the small stone bouncing harmlessly off a tree before landing in a bush. He then gave Miakis a skeptical look, frowning. Curious one, her...

Goofies face turned bright red as Riddlemouth brought up what he'd said. Still the lion stood by it completely.

"We're all misfits here," He said in a smaller voice still blushing up a storm. He was quite embarrassed. But a familiar voice saved him from any more conversing. Miakis. Instinctively, Goofy looked around for her... and jellyfish. The giant lion fought his way to the back of the crowd, bumping in to prides members as he went.

Until he found her.

A grin spawned on his maw.

"Its true. I've got a charm so I'll always remember," He danged his tail with the jellyfish charm in front of the female.

((Holy shizz thread exploded while I slept XD GO ALL OF US! We're awesome!))

User ImageThe goddess couldn't help but chuckle softly at the way the child recoiled when she mentioned the song and dance; for gypsies, these lot had sure forgotten their origins, but that was okay. She didn't really mind at all. A sharp pride was a safe pride, and she didn't really begrudge Li and his work at all.

After all, she'd been as affected by her own 'blessing' as her pride had been, and it'd been Li's powers that had awakened her from her self-cast insanity, so linked was she with her pride's lands, "Or we could possibly play some sort of prank too. A sneaky one. A fun, but harmless one, aye?" another wink was offer at Hana before she continued, "But we might have to wait a bit. Plot and wait, what do you say?" Her gaze slowly slid towards the small male which had turned towards her, possibly related to the child at her feet. She offered Asker, a Cheshire like grin before turning to glance towards the strangers once more.

When Shandor spoke up, Muhali couldn't help but smile, "Princely welcome, he says," she told Hana, "Oh boy, this should be interesting, that's for sure," then she turned her head towards the other Gypsies, "I say, let 'em stay then!" she also made mental note to see if she could have a talk with Shandor and... also to see if she could, perhaps, sneak away later to get a good view of these 'followers' and gauge just how 'dangerous' they were.

User ImageVodnitvar's words very obviously angered the spent lioness, but she apparently still had enough fire (even if it was but a shadow of the one she'd presented at the start of the meeting) to turn and level her gaze to his as best she could, which... technically wasn't saying much. After all, Chi had spent a good portion of her life as a slave; it'd left her small from early undernourishment and she internally feared she'd not be able to breed live young because of it.

"Out of turn? Perhaps, but I'd like to see how you would have tackled the situation if you'd almost been taken by force, only to seek out refuge, even offering help by bringing forth a warning and then treated like criminals," it was spoken harshly, but not snapped like before, "My attitude might not have been best, but I'm hungry, I've not slept in a while and you are being, frankly, an absolute jerk. Respect is a two way street, try to earn it, before demanding it."

The lioness' held the male's gaze until Shandor spoke, and though she didn't quite like the term and emphasis he put on his words (Prince?), she let out a sigh and offered the gypsy king a small, weary smile, "Thank you," she turned to Fireheart and Flower Lord as they spoke and let out another heartfelt sigh. She also seemed to appreciate Duck's words, if the small smile she offered him was any indication, "Thank you so much, I... I promise to keep my mouth in check. I just... I-" she stopped when she heard a voice call up about jellyfishes and she looked wary again, "M-myuto, are there creatures that bite with their butts? Is that true? I can skip the big water if that's true," this last bit was spoken in hushed toned as she leaned towards him so he could hear.

Vodnitvar took little sympathy on the two rogue's words. To him they could not be trusted, no one simply came to you with a warning, without some motive behind their words. For his own sake he wanted to believe it true, but in his old age he'd seen many motives destroy the 'good intentions' of many a lion. He held strong though, as both Riddle Mouth and Fireheart stood in agreement to allow them to stay. He personally did not agree, but he knew better than to step on toes, especially his mate's. Then another voice spoke up - yet another voice he did not trust. The strange lioness with the blue stripes, there was something about her that he just couldn't wrap his paws around ... Of course, she would agree to let them stay, in his mind she was just a suspicious, if not more so than they were. But he chose to ignore it, Hana seemed to be at least somewhat enjoying her company and he knew his daughter had decent judgement.

Turning his attention once more to the new lioness, he held his stern look. A gaze nearly as cold as ice, reserved specifically for the rude little spitfire. "That's a scene you and I would both like to see. Though as you can see I have an injury not too dissimilar from your friend's. I too sought refuge here, and given my personality as an 'absolute jerk.'" Vodnitvar coughed and offered a small wink to Fireheart. "Which is quite the spot on assessment if I do say so myself. - I did not come to these lands with the defenses you yourself have built around yourself. You say you haven't slept in days .. perhaps even more? Do not misunderstand, we are alike in that way. But you must also not misunderstand, I do not demand nor request your respect for myself. But you will give it to these two, who are now putting your lives in their paws." Vodnitvar exhaled heavily as he nodded his head towards the female. "This pride can offer your friend both the safe haven and assistance that he needs, but we are a very sensitive bunch. Jumping in headstrong won't do you any good here, as you may already see."

A sort of weird silence fell between the group - the only one speaking was Goofy, as he proclaimed his awareness and dashed off to show off his charm. It was then that he took the time to look over the male's injury.

"Do not worry friend, you're feelings have remained very neutral, and as such I have no ill will towards you. Though I do advise that you find a healer to look over your wound soon. You wouldn't want it to get much worse, I assure you of that much."

She was nearly to the tree by the time she realized those all too familiar colors were not the ones she'd thought they were. But at the same time .. they were Aunt Nema's colors! Vanellope tilted her head quizzically as she tried to figure out just who this lioness was. She'd never met her before, nor had she ever seen her. Aunt Nema had never mentioned any relatives ... Well ... at least not any relatives Vanellope could actually see!

But she could actually see this lioness! Which meant she was real. But there was something about her, something that made Vanellope feel really uncomfortable. "Oh... sorry." She mumbled lightly, "I thought you were someone else." Her ears were nearly flat against her head as she tried to turn tail and run. But as she turned around, she let out a loud squeak as something loud and hard came down hard on her tail, pinning her in place.

Hima's ears perked with curiosity as she was this young female drawing nearer to her. She had no clue who she was, but she did know she was royalty. One of the newly crowned royals of the pride, though egads if she didn't look a thing like either of her parents! Or her siblings for that matter! It was such a strange sight, and definitely a painful one at that.

As the young female spoke, Hima's eyes narrowed a bit and she began to focus more on what she was saying. She had thought she was someone else? Now just how common were her colors in this pride?

Unless...

Hima's eyes lit up just as the female turned to leave. Uh ah! She wasn't going anywhere! Hima slammed her paw down on the female's tail quickly and whispered devilishly into her ear, "Now just who could you have mistaken me for exactly?"

((OOC: I approve of the bolding of names. xD))

Asker almost sighed in relief at the arrival of his father. He listened patiently at the exchanges, noting sadly how badly Vodnitvar was limping. It hurt to see his father having so much trouble with his old injury, but Asker knew it didn't detract from the old fighter's spirit. His father, limping or not, walked with the aura and power of a warrior. He brought strength with merely his presence, not his claws, and that was a skill that few very fighters could ever master. Asker hoped one day he could provide the same effect.
He followed his father's gaze when it turned, glancing back once more to the striped mummer sitting next to his sister. The blue lioness was grinning at him in a way that set his teeth to grinding. Asker gave her a small smile in return and quickly looked away, once more feeling uncomfortable. He too felt slightly suspicious of the lioness. But perhaps that was because Asker hadn't taken very well to any of the mummers. Singing and dancing wasn't really his thing. Lions who could spend all day doing such frivolous activities just seemed odd to him. But each to their own. The young male was sure that some lions found it odd that the patrons enjoyed training and fighting all day.
Asker took a small step forward, a thought coming forward on the topic of jellyfish. "I think what she means is," His voice rose, and he looked back to the gathered pride members before turning back to the border, "That a jellyfish seems quite harmless at first, on the beach or in the water. But if you're not careful, you'll get stung when you least expect it. It's quite painful." He admitted from experience, hoping to share in a bit of a chuckle with anyone else who had been stung before. "But as long as you're careful, and treat the jellyfish with the respect it deserves, you won't have any problems." A lesson both parties could learn, Asker thought. These strangers were unlike any who had come to the pride in Asker's lifetime, what with their foreboding words and slightly poor manners in the face of the pride's leaders, but as with the creatures in the ocean, they could learn to get along and share the space, right?

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Shandor gave a short nod as Fireheart voiced her agreement. Still…they couldn’t trust the newcomers. For the moment, they were princes of the pride. It was a title given in jest, more or less, to newcomers who had no place within the pride or pride members that had proven themselves somewhat incompetent. A small inside joke that the pride shared. By the time the new members would learn enough to be insulted by it, they should have some use for themselves.

“Harm or not, mind yourselves. You will be closely watched.” He looked over to Flower Lord and gave the male a stern nod of his head. “See to it. Until this storm blows over I cannot, and will not, take even a small risk.”

Looking back to the strangers, he smiled and closed the distance between himself and the two vagabonds. “Please, take no offense, but we can’t be too careful. As you two seem… protective of one another, I’m sure you can understand wanting to look out for those you care about. You’ll be safe enough, as my pride has said, we mean no harm if you mean none to us.”

He brought the back of his paw up to playfully stroke the cheek of the new female. “And who knows? We may become good friends.”

Click to show.Myuto bristled, though he wasn’t entirely sure why, and pushed himself forcefully between Shandor and Chi, his eyes dangerous. “…please. We do not presume to impose ourselves on you, we ask that you grant us the same. We’ve come for rest and recovery. Nothing less, nothing more.”

Looking to Chi, he lowered his voice. “…there’s no such thing as a back side with teeth, Chi.” At least, not that he knew of. The sea was something of a rumor in his homeland, so who knew what actually lived within and beside it. Still, the last thing he needed was something else for them to keep an eye on.

Glancing up to Straw Dog he nodded. “We’ll mind ourselves and our own business. Thank you. I’m sure my injury will heal well enough, it’s not the first of its kind and it likely won’t be the last.”

Miakis' eyes went round, the situation forgotten, and her attention fixed onto the shiny trinket on her friend's tail. "...ohhhh is it... a golden jelly?"

She lifted a paw to bat at it but froze after a second thought. "...is it real?"

[OOC - Holy crud. I come home from work and there's a whole page of new responses! This is going to take some time. haha]

The fur on the back of Dhoru's neck rose, pulling his upper lip along with it. For a moment, he almost thought he had imagined Nema's tentative call - simply a fear induced "vision" playing in his head. But then he caught her scent. Turning his head in its direction, he spotted his mate near to the edge of the crowd of lions, with his niece wrapped around her paws.

Muttering pardons, he pushed his way back to the pair, his ears angled behind him all the while to catch every word of the still on-going conversation. He nodded to Vodnitvar with a sheepish grin as they passed each other, each trying to make their way toward a mate on the opposite side of the sea of gypsies.

Dhoru reached his mate and brushed his muzzle along her jaw before bending to lick his niece between the ears. "And how are we doing back here?" he chuckled, his emerald gaze resting on Nema.

As Vodnitvar settled beside Fireheart, the conversation with Muhali lost all intrigue. His injuries seemed to be bothering him a lot today, and nothing could tear her attention away from that. "Yes, that would be great. Another time, though, okay?" she said, as quickly as she could without being rude. Dipping her head respectfully to the older lioness, she padded forward into the crowd.

Reaching her parents, she slid beside her father and leaned against him. She wanted to offer him additional support; however, she was well aware of the large lion's pride, so she tried to make it seem as though she were timid as she angled her shoulder under his front leg.

She hadn't really understood all the fuss over the muses, but she did understand that these strangers would be staying with them now. As a Patron - as a Kizi, for that matter - she felt she needed to be more involved. Shandor had made it clear that Myuto and Chicanery needed to be watched, and she intended to do just that. Nothing would hurt her family.

As Asker spoke, she felt proud that another of her siblings would feel the same as she did. Staying where she was so she could continue to support her father, she raised her voice so the gathered lions could hear her.

"Yes, a sting from a single jellyfish does hurt. But it's nothing compared to multiple stings from an entire brood of them." Hana remembered a conversation - well, more of a lecture, really - with her father, the first time she had seen a school of jellyfish. If the strangers had been too dim to see through the thin veil surrounding her brother's words, this would definitely clear the air. "They may be entrancing to watch, but they're definitely deadly."

Flower Lord nodded at Shandor's words, stepping away from the pair. He eyeballed his stepson, then looked to the lioness. "I'll make sure the Patrons keep an eye on her in particular..." He gave a light smirk. "She reminds me of SOMEONE..." His eyes pointedly looked at Aurora, before going by her, brushing his shoulder to hers. "You won't be watching the, Aurora... I'd rather not mix things that shouldn't mix..." He didn't want things to get explosive.

The lioness gave a light snort, before she looked over at Miakis. Crazy little thing.. She relaxed just a bit, going over to the other pale lioness. "No, Miakis, it's not a REAL jellyfish." She looked over at the pair. "But for all we know, THEY are..." Pretty to look at, but dangerous. She gave the lioness a pat on the back, gaze not leaving the pair. "Don't worry, I'll keep you safe from the jellies." She considered for a moment that perhaps it was a good thing Flower Lord had told her she wasn't going to be watching the pair. If she got much closer to the lioness with the giant ring, things likely wouldn't end well.

Duck sighed, before he looked around. He wondered if Magpie was near by, but he opted to wait. The blue-faced lion offered the nearly-white lioness a smile, not missing the appreciative look she held. He did curiously watch as Riddle Mouth interacted with them, and his own face changed to one of irritation at how close he got. His ears folded back as he mumbled under his breath, "Shameless flirt... Would probably hit on my mother if she didn't offer the promise of death and castration..." The fact any male lion had gotten close enough to his mother to impregnate her had amazed Duck growing up... She was just so... Prickly. On one paw, this new lioness reminded him of his mother, but at the same time... She didn't smile with the hint of danger behind EVERY expression. He'd have to see about talking to her later, when things calmed down, to see about making friends.
