Pup's name: Kama'baba'yake
Meaning (And language): Like her father (Swahili)
Future rank she may want: Bone Collector
Prompt #: 3
Prompt reply: What a loser.
Kama was sorely disappointed in her father once she learned the truth about him, and his pack. Or rather, his
pride. A fellow pup had been the one to tell her, they rubbed it in her face in a sing-song voice that he served
lions and she nearly ripped their throat out for trying to say it so they'd never be able to utter it again. A passing scout had separated the two and reported Kama to her mother. The pup sulked. Her grey siblings looked like their mother and uncle, which obviously meant her dark browns were from her father. She scowled at the notion and went to find a slave to n** at and chew on to take out her frustrations.
Without her father around, she'd never really formed any opinion of him, so it was all very sudden, and even sad for her (
she'd never admit to such weak and tender feelings) that she had found this out. If she ever met him, she'd try to talk him into leaving the pride and joining her pack (obviously she had no idea half the zealot her father was). She hated him for taking away her siblings and forcing them into an inferior life. Even the boys would have had a better life in the Mava'Bunda! She shook her head. Still, she couldn't help but have some ounce of pity and love for this strange father figure she never knew. But really... what a loser.
Something stinks around here!
Pup's name: Kijanadume
Meaning (And language): Little boy (Swahili)
Future rank he may want: Hunter
Prompt reply: Anyone who came across Kijanadume would say he's perpetually in a bad mood. One of his sisters once teased him that if he scowled so much his face would stick that way. Maybe it did. The hyena pup mostly kept to himself, and would sometimes seek his brother's company, but he scorned his sisters and even his mother. Uncle Aneetz was alright, but Kija felt he helped perpetuate stereotypes that male hyenas were inferior to their female counterparts.
And that just wasn't fair. Chewing on an especially old bone, Kija growled. Why should boys be subservient to females!? (Besides, you know, being slightly smaller and it being the natural dynamic of the species...) He huffed and viciously attacked the bone. And his
name! His mother called him "little boy" - it was so degrading and perfectly defining of her opinion of her sons. Kija had to stop himself before all his sharp milk teeth fell out, his gums were bleeding from the intensity with which he was chewing. Growling and picturing his mother in place of the bone, he snapped at it one last time before deserting the wrecked, chewed thing, and went in search of his brother.
Even though he knew his father served lions in a pride, he sometimes wished he'd been one of the pups to go with him. Here he served females, what was the real, big difference? At least he'd be with his father and two more brothers instead of Hortlak and the two stinky girls. His green eyes fell upon his female family and he stifled a growl.
Now that he was around girls, he would have to be
proper.
