"Songvari was it? That's a lovely name, I don't suppose it holds true to life does it?" She smiled somewhat fondly at the male, though it probably seemed forced. Pausing for a moment she mentally counted to three, feeling the vibrations in her chest as she breathed. She really needed to get over this strange fear of her's. These were her people, and as such she should feel most comfortable around them!

As she counted, her ears caught wind of his mention of the voyage most born within the pride were forced to take. She'd never truly met anyone to admit it to, but the idea really interested her. She'd wanted to go on one herself, but had been a little nervous she might offend the true members of the pride. "Ohh a pilgrimage? I bet it was quite an interesting journey to take on your own! Though I won't bother you for the details!" Shooing awya the idea with a paw, she let out a shaky giggle before continuing. "That's good." She mumbled, without much thought. But the more the words sat out there, the more she began to regret them. "Well I mean its good that we both don't know very many people! It means we have something in common! But at the same time, I guess it isn't good too! Errr, I should probably keep my mouth shut wouldn't you say?"

She couldn't keep her cool for anything! She was just lucky she was stationary, if there were any walking involved in this conversation she'd likely fall over her own two paws. "Well, I came upon them during their migration here. There were many injured, and I offered to help. Though, with all my bumbling I may have done more harm than good!" Another shaky laugh erupted from her throat, though it was light and a little more welcome. "I thought the lions seemed like a very welcoming group, and I asked to join them. They obliged me, of course and i've been here ever since. Though a bit more quiet than I was then!"

Kupa's heart swelled in her chest at her Mother's greeting. She loved hearing the sound of her voice. It was always so soothing to her, it always made her feel right at home, even though she was already there. It was a weird feeling to explain, but she knew what she meant. That nice warm feeling, yeah, it was the perfect sensation and she felt everytime she was near her family.

"It is isn't it? Especially this year! After all that has happened, seeing everyone in one place - together again! Can you think of a better sight?!" Of course the question wasn't meant to be answered, but if her Mother gave her one she would be happy to hear it. Her Mother was far older, and had seen quite a few more things than she had. Perhaps there were things in their history, that she didn't know yet. Things worse than even the fire.

Looking around once again she noticed the Queen speaking with a green lioness not far off from the two of them. Her feet instantly began to pad anxiously against the dirt at her feet. "Errr I hope you're right! She's talking to everyone else! But, what if she doesn't like me, or what if i'm weird?! I'm not weird am I Mom?!

Getting the hang of remembering everyone's name - or almost everyone's - had taken Khara longer than she cared to admit, but her memory for names had gotten quite good...although she'd have been hard-pressed to remember Noka's former name now. Once names were changed, the old ones were unimportant, safe to forget.

"It brings me joy to hear that," Khara replied warmly, a smile lifting her expression. "Perhaps we should invite our neighbors someday? Though I wonder if they would actually come..."

"Or what we'd do if they did," she added with a chuckle.

Sam had thought about arriving late, mostly just to trick Tidis into thinking she wasn't coming at all, but that idea hadn't gotten past the 'idle musing' stage; her mother would have killed her if she'd showed up halfway through the feast! Improper, impolite, all those other 'im's and 'un's and totally boring things. Sneaking up on her (boy?)friend during a public event probably qualified as one of those things, too, but...eh. She had to have some fun!

Aha! There he was! With a full-body wiggle of excitement, she pounced on the red lion with a victory yell.

How had her mother done this five times?! This was awful. This was the worst idea she had ever had. Only halfway through her pregnancy, Koko'kizuka was completely certain of one thing: she was never doing this again. She was also relatively certain that lionesses who gushed about having cubs had to be some degree of touched in the head. She hadn't even gotten to 'hard part' yet, and she was already utterly miserable. And so not in the mood to be social and mingle with the rest of the pride, or to watch her niece walk amongst the adoring crowd.

But there was a feast, and she was hungry. So very, very hungry. The distinctively sun-marked lioness tried to weave her way through to the food. Maybe she could just tear a hunk off of something and leave to enjoy it somewhere quieter.

As he wandered about, Paa'ndani spied the queen's aunt... And she was quite wide. From being around his sisters, he knew what that meant, and not to get in the way of what she wanted. But did everybody ELSE know? He looked at where she was going, then moved without anymore thought. Moving in front of Koko, he began to shove other lions out of the way. Manners? He wasn't going to use them. There was a lioness who had more than just her own stomach to think about that was wanting food, and everybody was in the way! If Koko got mad at him, so be it.

Pata stretched, having eaten her own fill.. And then noticed that their 'brother' wasn't there. The gray-marked white lioness sat up a bit, looking around. "Where did Paa'ndani go? He was just right here!" How did a lion that big get lost in the crowd? Was such a thing possible? Did a god come in and lift him away without anybody noticing? Was THAT even possible? She was sure she'd notice a GOD showing up. Suddenly she felt a paw on her shoulder and she looked at her half-sister in surprise. "What?"

A grin was on the albino lioness' face as she turned and pointed. "I found our dear brother! He's shoving lions out of the way for that lioness over there!" She couldn't even tell if the lioness was thankful or not. They were just far enough away, she could neither hear nor see what Koko was doing. Not that she could really see that well to begin with. Even with her hood on, it was hard to see in the daylight, and she wished this had been one closer to evening. "I wonder what she's feeling about him helping her without being asked!"

So much for getting through this without being noticed. Did she really look as enormous as she felt right now? The assistance - or rather, the attention of the assitance - was a bit irritating, but it was also well-intentioned (and effective), which made it somewhat more...palatable. Marginally. And she wasn't without manners, regardless of how large or hungry or resultingly grumpy she was.

"That was...rather more conpicuous than I had intended, but I suppose I should thank you for the thought."

Noka nodded in agreement. Their neighbors, assuming they were the ones that assisted them in their time of need, should be given some sort of feast as well, in appreciation from the swamp land members.

“I think that is a great idea. We can send out a messenger,” a snake, perhaps? “with the request.

“Even if they decline, at least the offer was made?” the light green lioness explained. At least they had made the proposal.

“Once everyone is well rested, an inter-pridal challenge could be fun.” Noka suggested. A friendly game between prides. It could be a yearly event, tradition if y
ou may.

Aedán, being as little as he was had no clue what any of these feasts were about, the one thing he did know, however was that he was hungry and his little nose had brought him this way. Little paws rose and fell as he scampered through the legs of the towering adults. Was there anyone else his age here yet? Hopeful copper eyes darted around but he didn't see another cub.

He soon found himself besides the large carcass and looked around with a hopeful expression. Hunger glistened in his eyes as he stared around hopefully, looking for an adult. His little tummy grumbled in response to the smell of the delicious food and he wasn't sure if it was okay if he ate.

"Yes, my thoughts exactly. As neighbors, we really ought to do more than politely tolerate each other's existence, especially considering that in some cases, we're more than neighbors - we're relatives." Her own brother had settled there, and her Consort's brother, among other connections. Yes, one of these days she'd have to get Chemankari to send her eagle over...

One of these days. "But don't let me keep you from the feast. It was good seeing you again, Noka. Perhaps we can speak at more length another time."

Perhaps, perhaps not, but it was always best to seem as friendly as possible. Everyone needed to feel noticed, regardless of how social Khara was or wasn't feeling herself. Which was also why her conversation with Noka needed to be a short one: so she could go and speak to others as well. The Queen bid her farewell with a dip of her head and went to greet another.

"Good evening, Eve'angeline," she acknowledged, then hesitated. "And...forgive me, but you'll have to remind me. I wouldn't want to use the wrong name for the wrong sister." Eve'angeline had had several daughters (and a son or two), if Khara recalled correctly, of which three had returned thus far. Which one was which...she was slightly less sure of.

Kupa's heart was swelling with glee as she saw the Queen draw ever closer. To some of her pride mates, meeting the Queen probably wasn't that big of a deal. But for her?! The Queen was like a role model to her, someone she wished to be like someday! Someone the rest of the world, or maybe just her pride ... looked up to! A few steps closer and the Queen was standing before them, a smile upon her face and a greeting prepared for the two of them. She didn't even care that the Queen wasn't sure which daughter she was! All that mattered was that she knew she existed!

"Kupasuliw'imani ma'am!" She said with a yip of excitement in her voice, her head dipping in respect as she spoke. "B-but you can call me Kupa if you'd like, I-I don't mind!" Finally the sweet smile she typically wore spread warmly across her face and she offered it to the Queen invitingly. "It's a pleasure to meet you Your Highness!"

Tidis heard the yell and looked behind him just in time to see-

"Umph!"

He was almost taken to the ground, and couldn't help but laugh.

"Hey! Haha! I was looking for you."
