"Oh..." Uttam's head dropped a bit, his tone flattening. Hunters did that? Tortured and made unnecessary mutilations? Perhaps they were more terrible than he'd thought.

"I knew they were quite bad, but... well, hm." He pondered for a bit, cracking his neck. "Do you know any Hunters who are friendly?"

"Some." Hel stated. "Some are quite bad. Some are just...surviving." The reaper nodded her head a bit. "I do, actually...and even if they are not exactly friendly, I know a few who are not hostile towards any of those from Halloween." Hel smirked a bit. "Kind of annoying. It was easier to cast everyone in either a black or white light. Gray is a very vague space."

As they flew along, the air started to get noticeably more chilled.

Uttam went silent for a while, simply nodding and humming in deep thought. So not all Hunters were Chel and Chris. He knew that - he always knew that. There were Hunters who had killed his entire family, many families. The used the creeple from Halloween to create weapons - and now this all was a thing he knew, too. Hunters were not all good, but not all of Halloween was good, nor were all of the Clans.

"Yes... grey is very hard to work in, though it is all we exist in. Blacks and whites are nice to think of... pleasant treats on a hot day. They are rare and fleeting, though. None stay." Uttam sighed again, shivering now. Damn, it was getting cold. He may have sneakily dug himself further into Hel.

"Ya...I used to see things as black and white...that changed rather quickly though." She chuckled. Though, truthfully, there were still some subjects she was pretty clear cut on...but for the most part, her time at Amityville and dealing with those closest to her helped her not be...quite as unforgivably stubborn.

The reaper made no notice that the horseman snuggled closer to her, and she was now looking down and around as the air continued to get colder. Once she could see her breath, she grinned, and after some more time she started to nudge her familiar down. Famine started to smoothly descend, and they dropped down into the clouds and once they were below them--

Big, fluffy white snow flakes.

"I think we are in the right area!" Hel declared, looking back at Uttam with a grin.

MECHANICS: RP assembling, as necessary, before heading towards the destination. Once there, roll a 100-sided dice and match the roleplay to the results below, as well as any reactions. Players can continue rolling until any of the players roll a MAMMOTH ENCOUNTER, in which case the BATTLE PHASE begins. See below for battle phase mechanics.

1- 20: It’s pretty quiet out on the frozen tundra. You suddenly hear a rustle and—

It’s just a little artic jackelope.

21 - 40: The wind is whipping pretty hard, and you think you see something off in the distance before it disappears.

41 - 60: You find mammoth tracks on the ground! It looks pretty fresh. It seems you’re heading in the right direction!

61 - 80: You find some tracks on the ground…but they’re not mammoth tracks. Uh oh…seems there’s something else prowling the tundra

81- 100: MAMMOTH ENCOUNTER:

- As you continue walking down across the tundra, in the distance you spot a huge dark brown mass. As you draw closer it becomes immediately obvious that it’s a mammoth! It’s grazing, but as you get closer it lifts its head, and immediately gets territorial, and strikes.

- BOSS MECHANICS: This boss has 50 HP. Every time you attack it (following the general battle rules), you TAKE 5 damage. The boss attacks range from trying to gore you, to swinging its tusks at you, to trying to stomp you.

- EXTRA MECHANICS: If at any point during the battle phase, a player rolls a double (i.e. 10, 10 / 6, 6, etc), a GIANT appears and attacks the party as well. It has 60 HP and every time you attack it you TAKE 5 damage as well.

Make sure to tally the boss's total HP (the damage you did to it) at the bottom of your post as well as your total HP and the damage you did that round. If the boss's HP hits 0, you have defeated it, and your team can now collect the sweet loot.

Uttam began to shiver, pulling his many layers even tighter and clutching to Hel again, golden eyes wet with frost induced tears. He hated the cold, so very very much. This wasn't his desert where his bugs could survive, where he thrived.

"Some things do remain in blacks and whites, Hel. Killing for the sake of killing, smiling at scarelings, making another feel beneath you... such things are clear cut." He hissed, shuddering again as snow fell on his exposed hands. Fuuuuuck he hated this cold.

A sudden bellow was heard, and Uttam looked down from Famine to see a great wooly beast, four tusks etched with carvings of some decrepit language long dead and only held in the most ancient of tomes. He sighed with a slight grin, standing up and nodding to the ghoul.

"Time to attack."

Hel smirked. Granted, she liked Uttam a lot before, but the more time she spent with him and talking, that fondness just increased by leaps and bounds. While he was more reserved and calculating than Hel ever was, they were kindred spirits in many aspects as well.

Apparently they wouldn't need to be out there long though...

As the horseman spotted their target, Hel's smirk gave way to a grin, and she placed a hand on her familiar's beak. The giant raven shifted into a winged spear, and the reaper twirled the weapon in her hands before she pointed it at the beast. "Ya, let us!" She cried, and immediately leapt into battle, charging the creature who picked up on their hostility and started to attack, swinging its tusks around. The reaper swung her spear around, slashing at one of its legs.

Uttam's meteor hammer appeared as he dived down toward the mammoth, face screwed up against the wind, the ice, and the fear that came with the fact he was dive-bombing a giant mammoth. He scraped it's flank before hitting powder, and immediately began to shiver.

Fighting would help him get warmer. So would not being in the arctic. "Let us make this a quick exercise."

"HOLY RABIES!" Hel exclaimed, staring at Uttam's weapon wide eyed. "THAT IS SO COOL!"

She was then whacked by the mammoth's tusks, and it sent her flying into a nearby bank of snow. She got distracted by a really awesome weapon. It showed.

He hurled the weighted balls at the massive beast, grinning as they connected and yelping at the massive snow flurry that sent him right into the Mammoth's massive legs. Shiiiit that hurt.

"Focus not on things that aren't prey." He hissed painfully, rolling away from the mammoth's foot falls in the snow with much chagrin.

Hel leapt to a stand, and shook herself free of snow. "Ya, ya!" She replied, and grinned, though the narrowing of her eyes indicated she was getting more serious about this. She twirled her spear, freeing that of snow as well before she charged back in. There really was no way to avoid any damage from the massive beast, so she took the hit in stride and finally delivering a powerful hit of her own.

She stabbed the beast, and yanked her spear down, opening a nice gash in the creature which pour blood onto the snow.

Uttam's lips turned into a small grin once Hel finally got it together and began to attack the thing with all her might. Yes, the Mammoth's tusks could not be avoided. They had the advantage of quickness, however, and the Soldier was planning on using that to his advantage. A quick yelp broke through his silence when the trunk of the beast smacked him across the chest, but the blow was returned with one end of the meteor hammer nailing the mammoth in the offending appendage.

"The beast, it is growing weaker. Bring it to the ground, quickly!" He hissed, twirling the chain of his weapon above his head.

"Got it!" Hel cried with a grin. Bring it down quickly, eh? She could do that! With one more blow! The reaper, admittedly, was wanting to show off her battle prowess for Uncle Uttam, and in that process of wanting to show off, she got too cocky and didn't mind her Ps and Qs. The reaper's weapon started to glow with a dark aura, and she raised her spear to throw it at the mammoth.

"I got you--" The creature made a sudden jerk in her direction, and swept her clean off of her feet. Hel let out a cry, and her spear was knocked from her hand, twirling through the air until it landed blade down in a bank of snow.

"s**t..." She hissed, leaping back up to her feet. She dismissed her spear and then re-summoned it, pointing at at the beast. She would have had it too, if she'd just been more careful.

Uttam shook his head at Hel, taking the brunt of the next Mammoth tusk, hissing at the beast. He was very much done with this hunt, and very much done with this damn cold. He sprinted over to Hel, tossing his mass of blankets on her to hold.

"Foolish ghoul. This is how one defeats the beasts." He snapped, whirling the dual metal weights above his head, the chains slowly beginning to wrap around him as the pulsed with amber FEAR.

The horseman stepped forward and lashed out, spun in a circle and lashed once again, weights licking both wielder and foe as the dance continued on, a continuous beating like a pounding drum upon the hide of the mammoth. With a final blow and a sharp snap, the hairy beast fell, giving a weak roar before silenced.

Uttam turned to Hel, weapon put away for the moment, very much bruised. The soldier's eyes were still full of a fire uncommon, and he ushered her over with a quick motion of his wrist.

"I am hoping that you have a knife in your possession. This will get messy very quickly otherwise."

"Wha--" Hel was then buried under a mass of blankets. She shifted them around until she could finally peek through some of them, just in time to watch Uttam truly battle. To say she was impressed was an understatement. Hel would always be old fashioned when it came to battle prowess and that the strong and skillful fighters earned their due respect.

Uttam was already high ranking in her books, and after seeing him deliver that powerful blow that downed the mammoth, he had sky rocketed, and she just respected him even more.

The reaper was bordering on looking starry eyed at the horseman, and she all too quickly jumped to his side when she was summoned. "Ah, ya! I do!" She then dumped the blankets back on him instead, and pulled out one of the knives that was strapped to her thigh.

The older pony sighed, wrapping himself back in his blankets with a shudder. The dance took much out of him, and it was slowly beginning to show. "Good, good." He muttered, kneeling by the ghoul and tracing a finger along the mass of ivory embedded with long lines of runes forgotten by time and read only by Giants.

"You will want to begin at the nasal cavity, around the start of its trunk." Uttam instructed, pointing to indicate to Hel the rough area of where she was to begin her carving. "We used to have many tomes on anatomy and the animals of the lands... Restoring them, that is what I want to do."
