[GAME] A Warm Welcome?

The large waterbuck was actually quite surprised by the number of lions also coming into the direction of the lake. He shouldn't have been though - one of their own was missing, after all. He wouldn't stop until he found his own children, had they ever gone missing. The concern for their safety in these lands was high, and the waterbuck found himself growing even more concerned with each passing moment.

"Should we check for a break in the surface?" he asked. He'd never seen a frozen lake in his life before, and it was an experience. It was shiny like water and solid like the ground.

He could see how it would be tempting to walk across, but it didn't feel safe at all...

Hmm. Sundai came to the realization he had been ... Well searching but not trying in a way of saying it. Maybe he should try a different approach? He sniffed the air in hopes of catching a sent of some sort. He nose filled with the different smells of the different lions he had encountered.

With those particular scents on mind he then turned his peach eyes to gaze upon the ground. Indeed, Sundai had to blink a few times to identify what looked like old pawprints in the snow but upon finding them he set fourth to follow them. "Cubs!" He called out again. "Cubs, where are you?"

Following the trail was getting easier now. The footprints became more and more clear the further Sundai went about following them.

"Cubs?!" He yelled and was amused as his voice echoed back at him. "Not here, huh?" He turned to walk away, yet stopped and noticed a fresh footprint.

It was rather tiny, could have belonged to a cheetah or other leopard but it might have... Just maybe it was a cubs.

M-missing cubs?! Sven would be more than happy to lend a hand helping anyone who was lost, especially cubs! And they were so easy to carry back, too! He would make sure he got them home safely, so their parents wouldn't worry about them.

He was happy they were apparently very differently colored than a lot of the ice and snow around them. At least it made it somewhat easier to find them. But then again, there was plenty around them that wasn't coated in snow.

He hoped they hadn't gone out onto the ice....

Frowning, the male soon joined the others in the hunt to find the missing cubs. He was a lion who always wanted to help others, but this was the first time in a while he had done so with a very serious expression on his face. Missing cubs was no laughing matter!

He couldn’t help but smile to himself. He was happy that so many of the others were concerned about the cubs. He began to wonder to himself maybe if he was went missing there would be a search party for him.

He focused himself to continue his task. He looked behind trees and bushes but still didn’t see anything. He began to believe that it may take hours to find them. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to stick around that long. He promised himself that he had to keep looking for at least an hour.

He kept on following the group he thought nothing was going to happen if they all stayed together. He ventured off from everyone else deciding to search on his own. He found himself just going up higher and higher.

In the not-so-far distance Sundai glanced up to see others as they searched the lake. Hm... Well he wasn't having much luck up where he was they might have been experiencing more luck down there.

Although, he sniffed his new paw print trail, if he was correct in following the path he was on the cubs were actually higher up the mountain. But that was impossible right? Sundai set out to climb just a wee bit higher anyways and be certain that he was right. If there wasn't a cub up here he would begin making his way towards the lake, just as slow as he was moving currently. "Cubs? Cuuuubs?"

Mzimu whole-heartedly agreed with the split up. He examined the ground for paw prints - tiny ones, he assumed, and made his way further away from the search group. If they hadn't found them yet, concentrated as they were - it meant he had to go out further.

His ears flicked forward in search of any sounds - splashing or the sounds of paws against the earth. They were sounds he was familiar with, after all.

He gave a huff, sniffing the air in search of clues.

Ezen's ear twitched just a bit as he heard laughter not too far off. He continued down to the dens, but there were cubs there that were not the ones he was looking for. They were blue and brown and grey, all very normal hues for this pride. Not that anything other than that wasn't normal, of course. It just wasn't common. That was a better word...not 'normal', but 'common'.

He turned away when he confirmed the cubs weren't there and climbed up to the main part of the pride lands. He stopped for a bit and sat down, closing his eyes to try to focus on the smells alone. He took a deep breath and tried to pick up the scents of the cubs, but it didn't work.

Opening his eyes again, Ezen decided to retrace his steps a bit to see if he had walked passed their hiding spot. Maybe they thought this was a game.

His attention was caught as a hyena also began to ascend the mountain. Oh good, so he wasn't the only one who thought they might be up higher...

"Cubs?!" He called, increasing the volume of his voice in order for it to be heard better over the newly formed wind. "Where are you? Come out!" He continued shouting. "Everyone's worried, where are you?"

To his surprise Sundai happened to find a cub. "Cub!" He exclaimed, rushing over to comfort the smaller baby.

He didn’t know where they could have gone. They had to be close. He didn’t think they would be able to get so far out. There little legs couldn’t possibly carry them so far. He thought maybe if he got up high he would be able to see the area better and it would be easier to find them.

He walked up. He looked around every step he made to make sure he didn’t miss a section. He began to think that maybe they went into a cave. It would make sense them going into a cave. It would be warmer than being outside in the cold air.

Sven noticed there were a lot of lions on the hunt, some he didn't even know! He noticed a very gentlelionly-looking male not too far from him. He looked a little like he couldn't be trusted, but at the same time, he seemed kind of nice, too. It was difficult to know what to make of him, and he decided to let it go for the time being. The lion was currently calling out for the cubs to show themselves, so he couldn't have been all bad, right?

"We're all worried about you!" Sven yelped, hoping he could help draw them from hiding, too, "Please come out so we can tell your parents you're safe! I'll give you a ride on my back if you come out!"

That had to get them- who didn't like a good piggy-back ride?
