The smaller boil went quiet as Zaire suggested he face off against the demon, eyes twitching upward, gauging height, their differences in size, and wondered if his boilfriend was crazy. Zel had to outweigh him by at least a hundred pounds, if not more, and he had a foot and a half on him. It would not have been anything even remotely close to a fair fight. But he really couldn't protest, especially not after Zaire's mention of the trouble he'd managed to find through no fault of his own. It had long ears drooping some, self conscious, and the afanc's free hand came up to play lightly along the back of the mahamba's knuckles as tanned fingers tightened around his own.
Again, the boil was glad for the topic change, and he'd offer a grateful look up to Zel before it went sheepish again. "I like to take things apart, and build things." He laughed, and it was a touch self deprecating. "Tinkering, really. Watches, clock work toys, those sorts of things. I like to see how they run, and try to recreate it." It was peculiar hobby. Or at least Jory thought so.
An ear twitched at Zaire's comment, and the smaller boil leaned into him, pleased. "Me too." The hot springs seemed the perfect sort of place to spend an afternoon. The weather was getting cooler, and though Jory certainly didn't mind it, he preferred the warmth, and what was better than warm water?
Not much.
As they arrived at the springs and steam rose up to swirl around them Jory beamed and made a sweeping motion with one arm like a grande unveiling.

Remaining quiet as the boils exchanged words, she was actually smiling as Jory mentioned he like to take things apart. That could be useful later on in case she ever needed help with something. Keep strong creeples close, wasn't that what her father always said?
And even if Jory seem shy, she had a feeling he was strong.
As they moved closer, she breathes in slowly. It was nice and warm, perfect for her. Without a word, she slips pass the boils as she tossed her sweater jacket off and tossed it onto the ground. Kicking her sandals off, she pulls her jeans off before she tugs her bikini bottoms back into place.
Slipping into the water, she ducks her head under before she swims across to the other side. Surfacing, she push her now dark hair out of her face before floating on her back.
A content sigh leaving her lips.
Perfect
Beejoux Sorry everyone...between my wrist, sick kids, then getting sick myself...

The smallest of the boil's blinked as Xyra stripped down to her bathing suit, brows arching before a subtle lightening of cheeks indicated a blush. She was a very pretty ghoul, but that wasn't exactly why he had suddenly gone all quiet and pressed even tighter into Zaire's side. For a few moments there he'd forgotten that swimming meant stripping down. "Um," he frowned. Zel had said something and he'd very nearly missed it. "Yes. Sorry. Yes that would be very nice of you, thank you." Baby blues turned up to the demon, and he flashed him a smile. It was a generous offer, and he definitely appreciated it.
A soft, bitten off sound of protest followed as Zaire drew away from him, and he watched as his boilfriend stripped down to the swim trunks before sinking own into the steaming water. It looked so invitingly warm, and Zaire was grinning up at him, beckoning him closer. For just a moment he looked down at him, and there was that hesitation he'd seen back in his dorm room, but even as tension crawled up through his arms and shoulders he moved to draw his shirt over his head so he could lay it with Zaire's well away from teh water.
A hand immediately came down to cover the paler mess of the scar that covered his side, and he hurried towards the bank of the spring so he could climb down into the water quickly, right into Zaire's waiting arms.
And it was as blissfully warm as he'd hoped. The heat warmed him to his core, and he let out a content sigh as he circled blue arms around Zaire's waist. Even his tail coiled around the taller boil, clinging, but he did seem to relax now that he was in the water.
A handful of seconds were spent with his eyes closed, just focusing on the heat, the closeness, then he was all smiles again as he looked between either demon. "So. Um. So what do you to like to do for fun?" He could do this--small talk--he wasn't good at it, but he could do this! He wanted so badly to make a good impression.

Xy's eyes lingered on each of the boils as they settled into the water. She couldn't help it, as each one was very sexy to her. For once, she was glad they couldn't actually follow her eyes, so they wouldn't have a clue what she was thinking. Lifting her hair off her neck, she sinks into the water until only her head could be seen before settling against the side. Honestly, she could listen to them talk all day, and she would be fine with that.
At the question, she glance towards Jory before she gives him a smile "Well, beside studying, I like meditating and archery. They both keep me calm when I am trying to figure out something, and its getting to me." she had a few of those days already, but wasn't going to go into depth about it "I also enjoy wrestling actually. I use to wrestle Zel all the time when we were young scarelings." she glance to Zel before she turns her attention back to Jory.
Now, she just did as she was told.
Study..
Which when she thought about it, wasn't all that fun.

Zaire knew there would be that hesitation, which was why he moved away in the first place aside from getting into the heat. Because while he loved being Jory's rock, he knew he couldn't always be there. Slowly Zaire was more actively trying to help his boils confidence issues in his own ways. When the shirt was removed a pleased little purr of encouragement slipped shamelessly out. The scar on Jory was there but what Zaire noticed was only the few mysterious purple marks, eyeing them with a special pride.
The warmth amplified when Jory clung, his own thicker tail went out to coil around the boils thinner one. A tanned arm curling around the other boys wait to hold him tight. Holding him in the moment and wishes they were along for just a split second so he could help the other boil relax a little more. A tender kiss was placed to temple and he peered between the two demons with a lazy smile.
Jory was doing better than expected with this, a teasing hand skimmed fingers tips against his side and he chuckled. "Well, Zel likes to get beat up." He grinned to the other boil jokingly, since they were about 50/50 most fights. When XY spoke up he learned a few new things and asked casually, "what's ..meditating..?" He was curious, even if his eyes shut after and it looked like he was asleep for a moment.

No one had mentioned the scar, they hadn't even seemed to notice it. That alone was enough to elevate the afanc's mood, and the subtle hunch in in narrow shoulders loosened as he stood a little straighter, danced the tips of his fingers along Zaire's side's in mindless little circles. "I don't mind studying," he chimed in a little sheepishly, grinning despite himself. He was a studious monster, and a sharp mind and good memory served him will with their school work. It made what could have been a chore relaxing and almost cathartic.
The kiss to his temple had him turning his head, bumping his brow against the taller monster's chin, and he gave an answering hum to the tickle of fingers that slid along his side, and he leaned a little more heavily into the mahamba, murmuring something quickly against his shoulder before straightening up so he wasn't quite clinging.
Standing at his side, he'd keep a hand on the small of Zaire's back, tail still looked around his under the water, but he wasn't hanging on him anymore. Turning down the PDA for the benefit of Xyra and Zel, but also a little for himself. Zaire was very much his rock, his touch stone, but the two demons were being very nice(at least to him), and if ever there was an opportunity to work on that ever wavering self confidence of his, this was it.
"I've played a couple of the easier games on Zaire's laptop, they were pretty fun," he noted, baby blues turning to Zel as his boilfriend aimed a question at the other demon. Jory had discovered the joys of solitaire and pinball during his rather lengthy stay in the mahamba's room after his violent run in with the hunter in the Haunted House.

Jory was rocking back on his heels in the water, content to listen the others talk about meditation or anything else. It was warm, he had the comforting weight of Zaire's tail around his and the feel of his back beneath his fingers where they lingered just above the start of the ridge of spines that ran the length of that long and muscled appendage. It was automatic and thoughtless as he gravitated closer, leaning against Zaire's side. Not the desperate clinging he'd been doing, but close. Always close.
Xyra's offer for a spar would get a soft and startled 'oh' from the smaller boil, and the peaceful smile he'd been wearing faltered slightly. Jory didn't like sparring, had not enjoyed his own scuffle with Zel, but he knew that Zaire still wanted him to learn how to fight. "That's a very generous offer, I'll have to take you up on it sometime." He didn't sound happy about it exactly, but to his credit he managed not to sound unhappy either. It was the best he could do. "Thank you." Even if sparring was very nearly the last thing he wanted to be doing, he still appreciated the offer.
Studying was a much more familiar activity, and as the conversation drifted in that direction the Afanc visibly relaxed again. "I would like that." A study group wasn't a bad idea, and it could even be fun. He didn't mind working on homework alone, or with just Zaire, but maybe they could all get together at times, order pizza, or reward themselves after with a movie.
