His intent had been to leap straight to action as well -- but somehow, the face of his sister's righteous fury made Ollie fizzle to a halt, halfway through his attack, a bit aghast, momentum stolen. He wasn't exactly a damsel in distress, but somehow her concern made him one.
Uncomfortably, he shot Nergui a look, and completely failed to hit his target.

A quick glance at the siblings as the hunter wheeled on Ollie. Lala's shriek, Ollie's reaction to it, all noted and filed away with a sobered look before the colt was turning to her, uncomfortable.
Wordlessly she reached out to him, the tips of her fingers brushing his arm, and even through the layers he'd feel the weight of that touch. A certain heaviness that did not fit the delicacy of those small hands. When she drew away the feeling would linger, and if he happened to look down he'd see the anomaly in his shadow -- a small ball, it seemed to waver and morph, twisting around his arm, before sinking into it. Into him.
It had a bolstering effect. Like a curl of energy, or confidence. Whatever was needed, she shared it with him as she'd shared her shadow. That small piece was now his.
She gave him a reassuring smile, gesturing with the tip of her sword towards thir target. A silent directive to strike.

She was undeniably rusty: too easily distracted, too easily pushed off her balance, and besides that now flustered by the fact that both she and her brother had failed in front of the priestess, and that one of those was definitely her fault and the other one was probably at least a little bit her fault too.
"Son of a b***h," she spat, as her next swing barely connected with the Hunter's shield.

In contrast, Nergui's confidence had a definite bolstering effect on Ollie: the shadow touch enough to make him draw in a deep breath and square his shoulders before he swung in at the hunter again. Low, while Lala occupied her high, and this time, he actually managed to land a blow. A solid one, too.
A flicker of glance towards Lala as she spat, but Nergui's attention was quickly reclaimed by Ollie as he charged into the opening that'd been creating, striking low and power. She grinned, and it was fierce and approving. There was no frustration in the mare, she didn't fear defeat, not alone, and certainly not with the three of them. This was, to Nergui, entertainment.
But she could afford to take pleasure here. The priestess wasn't lacking in confidence, and she believed she'd already proven herself to both siblings as capable.
When both fell back, she exploited the opening left behind. Darting in and aiming low, she tore the edge of her blade against the back of the hunter's thigh as she passed, turning as she moved to keep her back from their target.

For her part Lala seemed completely oblivious to anything that wasn't the hunter, now, even Ollie falling by the wayside as she wrapped herself in that hurt pride the way she did. It was doing absolutely nothing for her contribution to the fight, and she had a way of letting this feed on itself, failure into failure.
A certain grim look entered her eye as she managed, once again, to only nick the agile prey. It was the look of someone considering doing something very stupid.
It was a good thing there were three of them, because it seemed this hunter was better than most. Every time any of them got the smallest bit cocky, it seemed she dodged and turned it around on them. This time, as Ollie lunged in, she brought her weapon down on his back to send him stumbling a few steps away --
This hunter was a fair bit more challenging than the last she'd faced down. Quick and agile, she was holding her own against three warriors of Death, and what would normally have been fun was now starting to irritate the priestess.
Her arm ached from a quick blow, but there was no time to nurse it. The opening presented itself, and Nergui took it to drag the blade of her saber against the woman's hip.
There was a sudden stillness where Lala's swift and agile movements had been, an instant of collecting herself, of a sudden grim purpose, and when her sword fell back in this time it fell in with certainty and lethal accuracy, unwavering as it bit deep into the hunter's shield and side, earning a little scream.
When she fell back it was with a sudden exhaustion, buckling and nearly collapsing as she stumbled away, but Nergui would be treated to something that even Ollie saw rarely: a smile.

"Lala!" It was brief, a bit terse, distracted -- and looking at her, in her exhaustion, meant that Ollie didn't have his eye fully on the enemy as he swung in with his attack.
Int this moment, the siblings weren't exactly proving their worth. At least Lala had taken the wind out of the hunter...
This battle had extended long enough. Nergui intended to put an end to it, and her head tilted as she eyed the stretch of the hunter's shadow across the gym floor. Grinning, she called to the Fear that lent her power, that dark wash of magic, and with saber raised she rushed forward.
Ollie's voice brought the priestess' head around with a snap, alarmed, and it was enough for the hunter to take advantage. A solid blow to the stomach, it fractured her focus, sent gathered Fear scattering harmlessly away, and she let out a furious snarl as she knocked the spear away from her.
HP: 25 DMG: f**.

And then Lala did what she should have been doing all along, way to be a Guardian, Lala, falling back in front of Nergui and attempting to fend off the Hunter's swipes with the twist of her own blade. It wasn't particularly effective, the last-ditch effort of wielding her FEAR leaving her weak and woozy, and her face was set in a grim expression at the unsteadiness of her own arms.
With renewed focus, Ollie hit again, at least, even if it was only the kind of glancing blow that made the hunter stagger, as opposed to taking a big bite out of her shield. He drew in an affronted breath as she swiped back at him, not quite managing to get out of her range.
The woman was putting up more of a challenge than Neru had been expecting. Thiscone had skill to go along with her unnatural strength, and she knew how to use it.
As Lala cane in to deflect some of the damage, the priestess took her opening, bringing her saber around in. Long slice across the hunter's stomach.
Maybe it was the humiliation setting up camp somewhere under her ribs and maybe it was the Hunter's visible flagging, but Lala's redoubled efforts to let Nergui handle the offense paid off on her second attempt.
