Was the only thing on the new file's face, Ryuu was a little puzzled about it. Why protect the file of the very machines they were about to unveil? The technology wasn't very ground breaking, so why the secrecy? Without any immediate answer, he sighed and nodded. An order is an order after all, he couldn't complain without some retort from the Commander. He opened up the other file for the confirmed guests list. Any 'guests' invited by the powers had to be registered with their identity and checked more thoroughly as a precaution. As he scanned through, he saw the first name on ZAFT's list; Chairman Lacus Clyne. He had listened to her songs as often as the next, but hadn't seen her in person, so it was already exciting.
Name: Ryuu Taiki (23) Genetic Type: Coordinator Rank: Lieutenant Position: Uzumi Nara XO Background & Personality: Ryuu was an orphan at the age of 7, and since his parents customized his appearance , he wasn't adopted for a few years. As a Coordinator, he was advanced in schooling, but was ridiculed by natural children and their parents who condoned coordinators. He joined the military of Orb sometime after the events of Bloody Valentine in fear of Orb's inclusion as the war dragged on. While he was acceptable as an Astray pilot, his suit was destroyed on the first day of fighting and he choose to become a crewmen instead. Serving with a man named Hazuko, he was able to survive the first and second Bloody Valentine wars. He gained the rank of Lieutenant with Hazuko's personal request for him to be his XO on the Uzumi Nara.
Ryuu believes deeply in Orb's motto, but also thinks if someone has the ability to help others, they should whether it involves them or not. He has slight PTSD after his mobile suit experience and gets shaky when he enters a mobile suit cockpit. He also holds a grudge against Blue Cosmos for his parent's death. Other ZAFT Officials continued to gaze up at the Uzumi Nara. This event hasn't been this big since the launch of the Minerva; one of them muttered.

The shuttle gates opened quickly, a gust of wind flew out as President Park came out with other member of her staff. Everyone looked so busy. Quickly looking at there agenda's and quickly relaying information back to President Park.

Overhearing Ensign Hikaru's mutter, Natalie quickly "floated" (LOL) towards Sammy.
Seeing his expression, "Hey, If I was in there shoes I would be very proud of you!" I personally met Captain Hikaru once. I know this for a fact. If he were still alive, he would be very proud!

Ryoko looked towards the approaching Commander. Even now she knew what she came here to do. She continued to act normal, but couldn't help but look up at the Uzumi Nara. Later having flashbacks to break the world incident, where her father was involved in.

Correctly guessed, ZAFT was the first to arrive in the gathering area. In front was the Chairman Lacus Clyne, still an idol to her fans and even Ryuu who listened to her occasionally on those headsets he always carried. The ZAFT officials behind her were gawking at the Uzumi, comparing it to the Minerva of the previous war. Before he could call out, a group dressed in the OMNI uniforms and suits arrived, following the new president of the EA.
"President, Chairman." Hazuko decided to address both parties together. "I am Commander Haru Hazuko of the Orb Union military. On behalf of my country and crew, I thank you for attending this event. Once we recieve the participants from Orb, we will continue onto the presentation room for a better view of the ship." He gestured over to Ryuu and continued "The Lieutenant here will see that you and your guests are confirmed in the meanwhile."
Name: Haru Hazuko Genetic Type: Natural Rank: Commander Position: Uzumi Nara Captain Background & Personality: A true commander of Orb, Haru Hazuko has been a loyal Orb soldier since he could sign up. Before the advent of the M1 Astray, he was proud of the Orb's military might and felt it could defend against ZAFT or the Earth Forces without mobile suits. When the invasion of Orb happened, he was proven wrong and focused on generating his own anti-mobile suits tactics. Some of which were successful, and he was promoted to Commander by the end of the second war. He was selected as the Orb military's first choice to captain the Fujin, and he recommended his long-time crewmember Ryuu Taiki to transfer onto the ship as well. With Haru's experience, the recommendation was accepted.
Unlike his subordinate, Haru is a very serious and strict military commander. While he knows about the cost of war, he also believes war is sometimes a necessary evil. He holds a dislike for the Earth Alliance and ZAFT after each invasion on the Orb homeland. He also smokes often and has an occasional drink for celebrations. With his knowledge of the previous major gundam projects, he was the biggest supporter and influence on Project H(inode), and remained paranoid all the way to the launch ceremony. Appearance:

The Captain decided to ditch much of the work it seemed when he singled out Ryuu. Another sigh before the Lieutenant pulled out a pen and clipped it to the file and introduced himself. "Lieutenant Ryuu Taiki of the Uzumi Nara. Executive Officer of mobile suit command."
He had to say something about his position like the captain did. He adjusted the files to ensure the were held tightly before opening up the list for attendants. "I will also be taking attendance. For anyone confirmed on the list, you simply need your credentials present, any guests should be checked over by Orb personnel. We apologize for the inconvenience beforehand."

So this is mostly an update on the situation outside the shipyard, and a bump to the thread.||
Once the shuttles arrived, the various faction warships began a smaller patrol outside of the 'peace line'. More of a sphere around the station, each faction agreed not to enter it in the understanding that once the Uzumi Nara launches they may re-enter, but until then not even Orb's mobile suits could come near. While none of them wished for conflict between each other, there was the threat of the Ghost of Cosmos or Zalal Loyalist attacking the high-value targets such as the President or Chairwoman at the celebration. Therefore, their eyes were not on one another, but towards the darkness surrounding them. Their suspicions were well within reason, as both radical groups decided to act during the event, without the knowledge of one another.
Drifting far enough from sensor range were three Drake-class ships baring the distinct blue stripe along the length of their hulls, marking them for the Ghosts of Cosmos. The Positron Reflector arrays would be pivital for them once they executed their plans. They however, were just the support for the Mirage-colloid cloaked Girty Lue-class ship, the last of its kind. Originally incomplete by the end of the second war, Blue Cosmos members tugged it away during the divide and completed it themselves. It was floating within the 'peace line' and away from Ootsukigata mobile suits with the new Mirage Colloid Detectors equipped.
Their natural enemies, the Zala Loyalists, also decided to crash teh celebration, but their forces weren't as specialized in stealth as their adversary Naturals. They relied on a previous catapult launch to be sent over to nearby debris, and used gas propellant to latch on and prevent being spotted by thermal or visual detection. Once there, they launched a small probe disguised as a broken mobile suit head near the shipyard to relay the signal from their agents within the colony. While the red-striped three Nazca-class and two Laurasia-class ships which transported them there, sat far enough to remain within contact but out of range of detection. They knew a frontal assualt at the time would be suicide, at least until their Commander's ship arrived...

Story-wise, I'll wait for more characters to arrive, hopefully some take up Orb characters, and then we'll progress to the launch and conflict.||
"The pleasure is mine. I am delighted you could join us in light of your busy schedule." he replied as he shook her hand firmly. Both the PLANTS and the Earth nations were recovering, even a year after the Librarian Works attacks, so he didn't think he'd be meeting the President or Chairwoman. Next he turned to President Parks and extended his hand in greeting. "I'm sure you have also been extremely busy, and it's only your first year." Things were hectic for all the nations after the last war, and the Earth Alliance losing its President was a more complicated matter from what Hazuko knew.
He turned over to Ryuu after the pleasantries "Check with the Uzumi, and confirm with Lieutenant Natalie the ship's status. Then check off out guest list." With a nod, the young man went over to a nearby wall console to contact the communications officer, Ensign Kitami.
