Personality: Eztil has always been... a little off. A born leader-like character, he prides himself most on his cunning, loving to trick others into following him. Though not one for crowds, he loves to have several others around him who he can control. He does not know love, in the traditional sense, only obsession and passion. Since the death of his sister and her mate, he has been... a little worse off than usual. Sadistic, sociopathic, and armed with a silver tongue, Eztil always gets what he wants... and what he wants tends to flop around a lot. He can seem to have a softer side at times, but this is only trickery to convince others to trust him.
Theft and murders are not beneath him. He destroys anyone who gets in his way. Think of him as a con-man, looking for an easy life.

Biography: When Eztil was young, his siblings and parents all died. Killed by hyenas. The only survivors were himself and his younger sister Coaxoch. The two of them stuck together, always, and learned to keep themselves alive. Though they came to despise other lions, and animals of all sorts, the two always trusted in each other. They were their own support system; their way of life was to be together.
As they grew older, they grew more vicious. Though not insane, the two of them were clever, following other lions and stealing their kills… or their things. Eventually, they began to pick up followers, usually stupider, though more powerful lions who thought them the King and Queen of mischief and mayhem, which was exactly what they were. Soon they had a group of about twenty or so, parading around the rouge lands, destroying whatever they felt like, and doing whatever they wanted.
Eventually, Coaxoch found a mate, and Eztil found a friend: Xiuhcoatl, a male of slim intelligence, but brutally powerful. Together he and Coaxoch had many children, though Eztil never found a mate of his own. He only loved Coaxoch and her children. Eztil was happy… and then it all ended.
A female in the pride wished to be Xiuhcoatl’s mate, thinking herself better suited for the powerful male than the clever ‘witch’ Coaxoch. Murdering Eztil's sister and her children, the lioness quickly met the wrath of Eztil and Xiuhcoatl, but her family was large and strong, eventually splitting the group and ending in a blood bath.
As far as Eztil knows, he is the sole survivor of the infighting.
For a little while, Eztil went on his own, working as a single conman, but he didn't take to it. Always looking for partners in crime (to do the heavy lifting), Eztil seeks out an easier way to go about life.

Personality: Giza’s name goes well with her personality. She does not entirely share her family’s blood lust… in other words, she doesn't actually like to kill her victims. She more-or-less likes to leave bent and broken survivors. A team player, Giza roots for her family… and is excellent at capturing and breaking her victims. She’s of ‘good-humor’ in the sense that she’s always good for a smile or a laugh… but what she smiles and laughs at can be rather unfortunate. She thinks of herself as an artist.

Personality: Faizah has a lot in common with her mother, but doesn't put her work in the same 'artistic' section of the torture book. She's more a sadist at heart, enjoying the hurt and more or less indifferent to the final result. Quick on her feet and tough as nails, she toes the family line and does at her core consider herself a "killer for hire", whether she be thug, assassin, or mercenary... but with the exception of family, it's best to not expect her to be loyal.

Personality: Isqesis values fun and freedom above all else, and the important part for her is that she will fight to have both these things, and never let anyone take that from her. Personality: Xiuhcoatl was once nothing more than the simple muscle for a group of thug lions, and he's never considered himself to be that smart, just practical. However, since nearly dying in a river a few years ago and being rescued by a rabbit, he's become a withdrawn warrior with one thing that bounces around his mind: Revenge for fallen comrades. A stoic, shy, and silent lion, though a huge and powerful one, Xiuhcoatl would rather have other speak for him than speak for hims
....... Point of Interest: Xiuh is very fond of rabbits. It is ill advised to attack one in his presence.
Biography: Xiuhcoatl grew up mostly alone. His parents were abusive, and he was the only one of their children to survive to adulthood on account of his strength and power. Eventually he ran away, but not being very smart, avoided other lions for fear of being taken advantage of. Then he met Coaxoch, a conwoman, who with her brother Eztil, convinced him to work for them. He actually grew very fond of the smart and deadly femme fatale and they became mates. While Eztil took charge of an ever-growing group of rogue thieves and misfits, Xiuhcoatl was his loyal second in command.
However, in a play for power among the group, a lioness who wanted to take control killed his six children by Coaxoch, and in retaliation, Coaxoch killed the lioness. The result of this was a split in side and loyalties inside the group, and eventually, everyone was killed, including Coaxoch.
It was during the final battle that Xiuh was lost, falling off a cliff in the middle of a fight, and when he called for Eztil to help him up, he received no answer. Instead, he fell, almost to his death, and was left as nothing but buzzard-food. He knows not what happened to Eztil... but he knows the lion well, and expects he survived.
The lion's life was saved, surprisingly, by none other than a wayward Hare who had been seeking a home. Xiuhcoatl now feels he owes his life to Jengo, and the two travel together. But revenge is now on Xiuh's mind, against those who left him to die... and he mourns the loss of his young children and his mate Coaxoch.

Personality: Falk wants, more than anything, to be a storyteller and a bard. The problem is that he has the charisma of an angry lobster. He often speaks what he thinks immediately when he thinks it, he has absolutely no tact, and when he tells stories it tends to come out extremely monotone and boring. That said, he has an excellent memory and once he's told something he doesn't forget it.

Personality: Atia tends to be snobby and cunning, willing to take any opportunity to undermine enemies and elevate herself. She will do anything to get what she wants, and previously this used to coincide with what Maximus, Cesar of the Bindamu, wanted. She looked at the previous leader of the pride as her adoptive son, since she was very close with his mother when she was alive and promised to protect her son at all costs. Because Maximus is more of a stoic character, she represents his “necessary evil” who knows how to play the political game with deadly accuracy. Most creatures know better than to trust her but it is known that when it comes to the Pride, she is willing to throw away anything to protect it. She’s a bit of a hypocrite, but she tends to accept this because she is generally fairly unethical, but because of her under-handed nature, she has helped almost three generations of Caesars keep their position, and control the Senate.
The preservation of the Caesar line was one of her chief concerns, and she was willing to use forms of violence, humiliation and trickery to protect it. Her cleverness makes her a good ally, and a ferocious enemy, and her age and experience make her very wise.
Despite her less attractive traits, Atia does have more sympathetic ones. She has seen many tragedies in her long years, and often tries to cover up her fragile emotions with her more conniving ones. She had been hurt and has seen many of her friends and loved ones die, and has now lived to see the downfall of the Binadamu when she worked her entire life to protect it. Now what she wants, more than anything, to build it back before she's gone.
....... Point of Interest: Atia never attempted a coup of any kind when the Binadamu was strong, however blames the fall of the pride on Maximus having a non-lion mate. As a result she has a strong prejudice against hybrids. She was also the Binadamu's executioner in her youth.
Biography: Atia’s parents were direct descendants of the Binadamu's leopard founders, and has thus grown up as a respected member of the pride. Her parents were as equally scheming as she, however her father was executed for his scheming to have leopards to lead the pride instead of lions. Because of this, Atia was swiftly removed from her mother’s care and brought up by the Caesar family, whom she became very fond of. In her youth, she was at the prime of psychical beauty and strength, outdoing many of her male companions.
The Caesar of her time, Maximus’ grandfather, quickly elevated Atia to become the Pride’s Executioner, a position she took with great pride, and often used to her advantage. She was great friends with the Queen, and even helped her to give birth to Maximus’ father.
These relationships led her to become very politically involved, and Caesar often used her and her ‘femininity’, despite her position, to discover the various moods and opinions of his people. She helped to plan the young Caesar’s marriage to one of her long-time friends, another high-standing woman of society, and it was this choice that elevated her status from being a ‘meager’ executioner to the Pride’s elder and chief adviser.
She cleverly assisted the previous Caesar until his death, avoiding several rebellions and helping to dismiss many an ‘ungrateful’ Senator, and elevate useful slaves to full citizenship. These good choices allowed her to retain her position as Elder when the previous Caesar died, and Maximus’ father took the throne.
At this time she reluctantly took a mate, the philosopher, Cato, whose moving words often moved the Pride to tears when he would make speeches. Atia’s love for him was artificial at first, but she came to care for him deeply as he began to break through the deceitful and spiteful shell that had served her so well in political dealings. The two of them had a litter of five children, three of whom came to adulthood, one dying in the earthquake that destroyed their home. Cato was then lost during a plague. These actions would reshape Atia to be even more vicious and spiteful in her old age.
However, despite her outwardly vicious political tongue, she remained very close with Caesar’s family, and because of her life-long relationship with them, she agreed to continue to protect and guide Maximus’ paws when he took the throne and his parents died.
Eventually taking a new mate, the cheerful bard Beau, Atia had another litter despite her old age, and raised them with the knowledge that her previous children lacked - and more cruelty.
With the end of the Binadamu, Atia is more bitter and cruel than ever, blaming the end on Maximus' choice of mate. But there's life in Atia yet, and her schemes are far from over.

Personality: Cold and straightforward, Augustus strives to set a thorough example of what a "Roman" should be like. Brittle and tough, Augustus doesn't mince words, isn't interested in excuses, and rewards results.

Biography: Growing up with a mother like Atia was far from easy, however with his father to guide her, Augustus actually had a fairly normal childhood - if not for everything that was expected of him while he was there. Still, he strove to be the best of his siblings and is by far what his mother expects out of all her children. He was on the up and up with the pride itself... until the earthquake destroyed it.
Waking up trapped within the temple, he and his brother were able to dig their way out after several days being trapped... and opened their eyes on their empty land. Eventually he found the Binadamu, at almost the same time it fell apart, reuniting with his mother and new siblings, beginning to make plans of his own...

Personality: When first meeting Octavian, it's easy to mistake him for being a selfish, lazy, and a bit of a sociopath. He doesn't mind that, because it tends to make others underestimate him. He is a soldier at heart, liking a good fight, especially if he can win it, but he also has intimacy issues which has resulted in him being essentially a rampant sex maniac. Lady? Man? Leopard? Lion? Cheetah? Wild dog? Hey, he'll try anything once.
Once you get to know him, he's not the meanest person in the world, not enjoying outright cruelty in the slightest. He finds harming others without reason to be a pointless endevour not worth anyone's time. Why fight when you can have fun? He's still a very dangerous leopard, he'd just rather hang around in his den all day with some good looking creatures.
