[1 v 1] Practice goes a long way! (Iyari/Falair)

That sword was deadly. Falair's skin was thin and when Iyari could get a good hit she could scrape the bones that protruded from her mare's thin body. The feeling of the blade against her skin gave her the chills. Hopefully she could end this soon, Falair was not that adept at fighting and the War Horeman could probably easily over power her if she wanted.

She tossed her chain at Iyari again, though this time as more of a distraction to get in close. Shoulder charging her in the stomach to try and knock her off her feet. It was a different style of fighting than she was used to and honestly the blow made her shoulder ring with pain.

While it wasn't what she expected the War mare found herself enjoying each moment better than the last. Then she came in with the chain and Iyari moved from it...

Was she running into her?

Iyari felt the blow and let out a grunt, sliding back and using her wings to re-balance herself, leaping back with her blade out, clanging against Falair's chain as she made another slice towards her.

Yea, up close and brute force was not Falair's forte. It left her too wide open to Iyari's next attack. Struggling to catch the blade with her chain in an attempt to keep it from landing a blow, but all she managed to do was give herself a nasty cut om her arm. At least it was the bone part so it didn't bleed.

Jerking her elbow, she flicked the end of her chain up to smack Iyari in the face.

While she managed a hit it was quickly countered to her face and Iyari felt the sharpness of the chains scratch against her and she was forced to move back, staring back at her and she dove in with the blade again, though she could feel the pain creeping into her body.

Falair grinned. It was odd, she was actually kind of enjoying this. Normally she just wanted to fight and get it over with so she could go back to her studies. Perhaps it was the gusto in which her sparring partner fought. It was quite admirable.

When the sword came at her again, she turned her body. Taking the majority of the blow to her right shoulder. Lifting her chain with her left hand to bring it down with a quick snap.

"Uhn." Iyari wasn't surprised by the ferocity of the Famine mare, nor did the smirk she caught. There was another sharp pain and she grinned back herself, flipping back and she sliced at her arm again, catching the bone side once more and not very deep.

She started to feel tired.

Another strike to her arm and Falair gave the War mare another smack with her chain. She could tell Iyari was growing tired. The other may not have wanted to admit it but she could pick up on it easily enough.

Stepping back, she let her chain lay slack in her hands. "We can stop now if you'd like."

"Heh." Iyari let out a deep exhale and moved her arm, the blade vanishing away and she looked at her. "I know better than to ignore the observations from the Famine clan." The pain was exhilarating to her and she gave a nod towards her. "You'd make a good solider Falair." Iyari crossed her arms, stretching out her feathers though under her cool exterior she felt herself breathing hard.

She smirked to hide that and tilted her head. "I enjoyed it. Your chain hurts more than I anticipated." Her eyes glittered from it. "Next time will go differently." She said confidently.

Her own body ached from the spar. It was not something she enjoyed too much. Falair laughed, her chain melting away as she waved a dismissive hand in front of her face. "Too bad I am to become a Sage then." Yes, that was a more appropriate job for her. Let the others with a more blood thirsty call walk that path.

Iyari's comment about next time caused another smirk to form behind her mask. "Never underestimate a tool's ability to cause pain on looks alone. A pretty chain like mine cause hide nasty secrets." She tilted her head in response to her next statement. "I suppose we shall see then."
