I liked both versions!! 3nodding I knew Trent wrote it and Cash covered it. I think they are both talented and great musicians. Each in his own way. I am not going to say this was better then this or that because yeah they both had their own way coming about by it. I mean you can still feel the pain coming through the lyrics. This is like one of my favorite NIN songs!!

Trent was never mad at Cash. He let him cover the song and when he heard Cash's version he said he was grief striken because he knew the song wasn't his anymore; Cash had made it his own.
He was never mad though.

aaah... anyway in an interview trent said he was kinda honoured for the cash's version.

trent did the original, we all agree on this one.

Trent did say one bad thing abot Cash's cover. he said that when he heard the part where "crown of s**t" is changed to "crown of thjourns" it felt like he was watching someone else ******** his girlfriend

Yeah, it was Trent.

And I heard he got mad because he wasn't asked at first, but whoever was speaking for Johnny Cash just asked his record company and they said sure, which pissed him off (at them), but he heard it and liked it.

And yeah, Trent's version is better than Johnny Cash's...
