She rubbed her sore head while continuing on. For the moment it seemed she might get a small reprieve from the assault this labyrinth wished to dish out.

Still uneventful, Falair began to think maybe she should take a visit to the hot springs and have a good soak after this. Her bones were aching from all the spiking and object smashing she was being subjected to.

Her thoughts about the hot spring were abruptly interrupted by another pot, a bit larger than the last, falling on her head. She had to stop. Brace herself with a hand on the wall to gather herself.

After collecting what thoughts she could at the time without the throbbing pain in her head Falair continued on. She couldn't give up now. There was still quite a bit of the test to complete. The mare would not fail to complete this test. She would do it many times over until she was successful.

Her efforts so far were rewarded. Falair came upon another hidden treasure. It seemed this one was just haphazardly tossed onto the floor. She had almost tripped over it.

Well at least now she was starting to feel pretty good about her progress. Thankfully nothing happened as she continued to make her way. Falair was at least thankful. She was unsure how many more times she could get knocked in the head on this run.

And once again she got the axe. Falair was pretty sure she was starting to hate axes. Especially this big one that kept beheading her time and again.

Even now Falair's spirit would not falter. She was determined to finish this test and become a Sage. And what luck she had on this try as she found a hidden treasure right off the bat!

The luck was short lived as something fell on her once more. It felt as if these things were getting larger and larger as she went along. But that was just her imagination right? Right.

Nope. Seemed her imagination wasn't the culprit as that large axe came swinging down again lopping off her head and sending her into dissipation mode.

At the start again it seemed the spike traps were just waiting for her to step into the labyrinth. She didn't get far until she had to dodge them again.

Again. With the spikes. She was pretty sure by now that eventually she might end up a shishkabob on one of them if she wasn't paying well enough attention. But even with her mind focused they were still random and quite the surprise when she had them sprung on her.

She was glad for the small respite between traps. At least it could give her some time to catch her breath and collect her thoughts.

Unfortunately it seemed the axe didn't appreciate her taking any kind of breath and quickly beheaded Falair.

Part of her was becoming a bit concerned that maybe she wasn't quite ready for this test. Perhaps she wasn't ready to become a Sage and follow mother's success.

Even when she found the hidden treasure it merely got a lackluster look from her as she gathered it into one of her larger pouches.
