"If you drop me, I'm gonna hit you with my wrench," Isaac warned, as he clambered atop Sub's outstretched hands. As the pair hoisted Isaac up to the window, which he discovered, was shattered, Isaac peered into the dark, gloomy building.

"I can't see a whole lot," he called down to Sub. "The ceiling lights are either broken or dead. What I can see is some broken and destroyed machinery. some of which I think might have been used to manufacture computer microchips. There are other machines and other large pieces of mechanical equipment in there, whose function I can't determine from up here. I think I see a couple of doors at the back, but I can't be certain without a closer look. What I do not see is any one inside, so I think we can get in just fine.

Withdrawing his wrench, he tapped out the rest of the glass from the window, before climbing up and into it. "I hope you have a Pokemon that can get you up here," he called back to Sub, "because I forgot to bring any rope." He then, gingerly lowered himself down as far from the window as his arms would extend, before dropping himself to the warehouse floor.

Isaac would only have time to finish his sentence before Sub popped into the warehouse right beside him, Gardy having teleported him to the other side. Yes, he used Isaac as a beacon so he could get in the easy way. "Hm, no teleportation protection. Can't decide if that's because there is nothing of value here or they didn't want to draw attention." Sub commented as he recalled Gardy before she could go bonkers.

Most of what was visible within the dark warehouse was dust. Layers of it covered all of the equipment in the abandoned facility. The floor too, causing the pair to leave footprints behind, as they ventured father in. As they moved closer to the damaged machinery, Isaac let out a low whistle of admiration. "You can forget the 'nothing of value' theory," he quietly remarked, as he surveyed the contents of this fabrication room.

The equipment from earlier, as it turned out upon closer inspection, were indeed used to create microchips, and some finished products lay scattered over the floor, among the silicon ingots used to create them. There was more too; against the far wall were lathes, mills, drill presses, saws of various types. The variety of fabrication equipment was staggering, as was the corner set aside to hold bars and ingots of various metals and compounds. The equipment in question however, was destroyed almost to a machine.

"Whatever was going on in here,"Isaac continued quietly, "It must have cost a fortune to set up. So, why abandon it? And what the hell destroyed it all?"

At the farthest end of the room, near the stacks of metal bars, was a set of double doors, leading farther into the warehouse. No light was visible from around the doors edges, and the sunlight from the windows was fading fast. Reaching into his bag, Isaac withdrew a small flashlight and switched it on. Turning to illuminate Sub, he grimaced as he set a hand against the door. "I don't want to sound cliche, but I've got a bad feeling about this place."

Sub had followed Isaac through out the warehouse, or factory if that's what it was. He had to admit, he didn't expect to find this either, or rather anything of value. The most he expected to find, if anything, was maybe some kids hanging around doing illicit things. But like GRAY he did have a strange feeling about the rumors so he had to check them out for himself, though now he was starting to wish he didn't.

"You're not the only one." Was all Sub could respond with.

The doors parted to reveal an inky blackness, with no light emanating from inside. A quick sweep of the flashlight revealed that the dark room was in fact a hallway of sorts, although large structures lined the sides of the walkway. As with the previous room there was more evidence of destruction was present, with shards of broken glass crunched underfoot as the pair ventured into the darkness. Strangely, in addition to the glass shards and other debris, there was also a splashing with each step.

Curiosity eventually got the better of Isaac, and he stepped up to one of the large tubes along the wall. Outside of a metal frame, now twisted from whatever had transpired here, the primary material of the tube had been glass. Although the top had been ripped off, the tube was easily wide enough to hold a large human with ease. A pale blue liquid sloshed at the bottom of the destroyed tank. "I think," Isaac mused, "That this liquid we have been walking through used to be stored in these tanks. Though what the purpose of this was, I can't say without knowing what chemical the liquid is. Whatever it was though, I'm not getting a good feeling from that." Illuminated by the flashlight was a plaque, bold lettering prominently displaying 'Subject-5.' Disturbingly, there was a large smear of red running crosswise across the surface. "Remember that bad feeling I had," Isaac remarked as he backed away from the tube, "It's worse now."

The rest of the walk down the hallway was largely the same, with the same sort of tubes, in various states of destruction, lining the walls on their way down the hall. Eventually, a faint, flickering light became visible at the far end of the hall, outlining the bottom of a door.

Just before reaching the door, Isaac held out his hand to forestall Sub's progress. "Hang on a moment, there's one that's not broken." Indeed there was, and he swiveled the flashlight to illuminate the surprisingly undamaged tube. It was tall, easily over ten feet tall, and still full of that pale blue liquid. Although, it was difficult to tell the color of the liquid, as more of the red stains covered the exterior of the tube.

After a few moments more examination Isaac inhaled sharply, the cold dread of terror coursing through him as he slowly backed up next to the other Snagem. "Sub," he whispered, fear easily apparent in his voice, "Have there been any reports of mass murders or disappearances in Black City over the past few years?" The reason for his terror was now squarely framed in the beam of his flashlight.

It was the tank's plaque, which read 'Subject-22.'

Sub hadn't been too freaked out for the entire time they had been in here. Sure, things were weird, maybe a bit creepy and unsettling, but for the most part he was able to hold himself together and keep on moving forward. It wasn't until they discovered the only intact tank did he begin to feel actual fear. Seeing the other tanks prior to this one, the broken ones, did fill him with a feeling of dread and put a certain thought into his head but he kept disregarding and denying that thought. There was no longer any denying it after seeing the tank marked 'Subject-22'.

"I...don't know. It's hard to say, Black City in general is very secretive, their high-tech police force even more so as they have to keep the city looking clean to pull in investors, especially after the damage Cipher did. If there have been I'm certain they would have been covered up..." Sub answered him. For once he didn't have all the answers, and he hated it.

"That's not exactly comforting," Isaac responded as he took a few nervous glances over his shoulders. By now he was half convinced that S-22 was going to pop up out of the shadows, a fear made worse due to the fact that the corridor was almost entirely darkness and shadows.

"So, let's find any evidence of this engineer and get out of here quickly," Isaac said, turning towards the only light source in the hallway other than his flashlight. "I suspect that if he's going to be anywhere, he's gonna be in there." The door, now illuminated by the flashlight, was framed with flickers of light, seemingly the only indications of power left in the entire building.

As he pulled open the door, the flickering lights revealed a room reminiscent of a surgical suite, if one out of a horror film. Blood covered the table and most of the neighboring trays. The various surgical tools were strewn around the room and a couple of metal tray carts lay smashed against the wall. The light source from earlier flickered constantly, granting the whole room an even eerier feel. However, what they illuminated overhead was most disturbing.

Hanging off the ceiling from large folding metal bars was a man, or at least what used to be a man. All four limbs had been removed, replaced with a bevy of mechanical manipulators and serpentine metal appendages, each ending with various mechanical apparatuses presumably intended to assist somehow in the monstrous procedures which must have occurred here. Implanted into his chest was a monitor, currently displaying a blank black screen, with wires and tubes running from it to various import plugs on the mechanical limbs. The head seemed to have suffered the worst, with half his skull cut away to make room for a series of large computerized implants fused into what still remained of his brain. More wires and tubes ran from their to the monitor in his chest, and still more up into the ceiling. His lower jaw had most likely been dislocated to make room for the metallic grill covered speaker surgically installed as a replacement for a tongue. What flesh still remained bulged out from sub-dermal implants jutting out from his skeletal frame.

"Sub," Isaac whispered as he stared at the mechanical horror above them, "I think I found the engineer."

The first thing that came to mind when Sub saw the horror movie of a room was that they really, really should not be here. After having seen evidence that S-22 was made, or used to be here and now seeing all this blood it just made his mind rush with paranoid thoughts. Regardless he pushed on through and followed behind Isaac, trying his best not to wonder what the source of the blood was.

"But...why?" Was all Sub could manage to utter as he stood next to Isaac and bore witness to the grotesque mangled body that used to be a human, perhaps the engineer they were looking for. It took every bit of willpower he had in him to prevent himself from loosing his lunch as he continued to stare at the engineer. Despite how horrible it was to see he just couldn't stop staring.
