Name and Meaning of Pink Cub: Ellyth [a single flower, sindarin]
Name of Pink Cub Owner: Seaki
Future Rank for Pink Cub: Ulili'intombi
Personality of Pink Cub: Ellyth is extremely shy, often hiding behind her sister in an attempt to keep herself away from others. She takes a long time to open up to others, often mistrustful of them to the point of paranoia. Her ‘visions’ often plague her at random times, causing her to stick extremely close to her sister, just in case.
Name of Blue Cub: Glyss [Dazzling White, sindarin]
Name and Meaning of Blue Cub Owner: ???
Future Rank for Blue Cub: Umbikezeli
Personality of Blue Cub: Glyss is protective of her sister. She knows that with her white coat, she is a bit more in the spotlight than her sister. She would do anything to keep her sister out of the spotlight, going so far as to hide her away, especially when Ellyth’s ‘visions’ hit.
The Questions:
In the pride it is believed that you are blessed if you have a white coat, it is also believed that if a female has the sight the gods have blessed you. It would stand to reason that those with paler coats should also have stronger visions. In the case of these two though, the stronger visions belong to the cub with VERY little white.
How do each of the cubs feel like this?:
Ellyth is despaired by her strong visions, and Glyss is quite concerned for her sister. To keep up the facade, she speaks with her sister of the ‘visions’ she sees, and comes up with stories to make it appear like Glyss has the stronger ‘Sight’
Does the paler twin feel ripped off, like she should have been the one to have strong visions?:
Glyss feels her white coat and having the Sight at all is enough. She very much wishes that her sister wouldn’t have to deal with them, or if they could trade, she would, but that isn’t the case. She feels proud of her visions, going so far as to flaunt them, and flaunting her sister’s visions as if they were her own. Ellyth occasionally shares visions, but only with those she trusts closely.
Or do they just see each other as an extension of themselves?:
Ellyth doesn’t mind her visions. She doesn’t like to talk about them as much as her sister, unless it it to her sister, who flaunts them. They work as a team, content in their roles that they have chosen. They are almost as one being. If they hadn’t been born twins, they would be a confident lioness with a healthy dose of humility and shyness, but as they were not - they are two sides of the same coin.
Does the pink cub feel like she isn't as good as the pale cub even though her visions are stronger, as if the gods don't love her as much?:
Ellyth believes the gods know what they are doing, but sometimes the nagging feeling of self-hatred takes over and she wonders if she in being punished with her visions being so strong. They make her antsy and her head hurt, and she doesn’t quite like them much, but she deals with it, with the help of her sister. She feels, even if the visions plague her, the gods were at least kind enough to bless her with her twin.
What other conflicts come up between the two?:
Occasionally the two may squabble, but it’s never serious. As young cubs, it took them a while to figure out what was going on with their visions, and they fought a bit over how they would grow into them. Glyss started off a little bitter against her sister for having stronger visions, and Ellyth was hurt by her sister’s bitterness. As they overcame the issue, their squabbling lessened.
That isn’t to say the pair is all peachy all the time. Glyss will sometimes get annoyed with Ellyth’s shyness, and Ellyth will get pissed off with Glyss for speaking over her constantly. They stick close together, usually, so if Ellyth doesn’t want to go anywhere, Glyss can get quite frustrated and moody… and vice versa! ( i.e “We never go anywhere!” “Why do we NEED to go anywhere?!”)
