"Thank you." Hans said with a smile to Rhyme. "Hopefully we won't need to come to that."
Hans really should have opened his mouth. As if Lady Luck heard him, it was at that moment when a tiny little lizard ran right into Rhyme's leg, the little guy falling over. "Tile tile!" It cried as it scrambled back up to its feet and climbed up Rhyme.
"Something wrong with that...thing?" Gretel asked as she eyes the Helioptile.
"Maybe that's what's wrong with it." Hans spoke up as he pointed at a group of three Sandile 'swimming' through the ground towards them, chomping away at the ground as they approached.

"You're welcome, Ha--" She's cut off when bumped, staring down at the pokemon. Blinking owlishly, its already climbed up her body when she regains her bearings, staring at the pokemon right in the face. "I....I've never seen one do this..." She answers honestly, before the noise catches her attention.
Eyes wide, reflexes going to a Pokeball in particular and pulling it out. "Noise! Aqua Jet! Carve out the ground in front of them so the Swampert has time to move!" The Sharpedo burst forth and, after a second to be a bit addled by surroundings, follows his trainers' movments with precision.
"Gretel, Hans, what pokemon do you carry on you?" She asked, heart beginning to race.

The Sandile's advance would cease as the Sharpedo carved a muddy trail in the ground but it wouldn't hold them off for long as they already prepared to jump over it.
"I got one!" Gretel said in response to Rhyme, tossing a Pokeball onto the ground, an Illumise appearing from within. "Zen Headbutt!" She commanded as she pointed to one of the Sandile in midair. The Illumise would fly towards the sand crocodile head first, skull glowing as it rammed into the Sandile and knocked it back down to the ground.
Unfortunately another Sandile came up right after the other one, looking to clamp down on the Helioptile on Rhyme's head.

"Noise, Crunch! Catch one of those Pokemon!" She calls out, stepping back as the Sharpedo charges, catching the body of one the Sandile in powerful jaws enough to rip through a ship...though in this case he's more defensive.
He shakes it, then sends it flying away from the group. Defense of the Swampert and Hans are a priority.
"Mmmh...Scald, Noise!!" Hot water on the sands and the ones hitting them to make them muddy once they all drop, attempting to make further of a delay for the others to flee.

The Sharpedo was ruthless in handling the Sandile, so much that they began to flee, even the ones that had avoided his wrath. Screw that, they just wanted an easy meal in the Helioptile, it wasn't worth fighting a shark for.
"Tile tile!" Cheered the Helioptile on Rhyme's head, thrilled that it gets to see another day.
"Wow, you handled that really good." Hans admitted. "I don't even think Swampert and I could have handled it that well." He admitted, his mud fish shouting in protest. "Oh hush, you know our battling experience is a minimum."
"So what about that thing?" Gretel asked after recalling her Illumise, then she pointed to the Helioptile.

"Noise is...a little rough around the edges..." She says, reaching out to let the shark Pokemon press his snout into her hand. "He has a good heart though, especially for protecting others..."
Speaking of others, she attempts to look up, but then reaches up to try and remove the little sand lizard from her head, to hold and observe it, taking a brief look over towards Hans.
"Your Swampert, I'm sure, is very skilled. Right now they have a very important task and, to me, they're doing it really well." She gives the mud fish Pokemon a smile, then turns to Gretel.
"Well, he can always follow us or he can go home now that he's safe." Should he have allowed her to hold him and pet his head, she would place him down on the ground by her feet to allow him the choice.

The tiny lizard looked up at Rhyme for several second with a look of confusion. The stare would be broken with a squeal as the reptilian creature scurried back up onto Rhyme's head.
"Looks like it has taken to you. Seems young as well, might have just recently been left on its own and instantly got jumped by those...things with the teeth." Gretel pointed out.
"Then take it with you. Either way we got to get going, Lumiose City is up ahead." Hans pointed out the building which acted as the gateway to Lumiose on this side.

Her breath catches for a second with the squeal, but that smile as it climbs on her head....Noise gets a few more pats before he's recalled, and she nods slowly. "Alright then. The more the merrier...You're coming with us, little guy." She adds, petting it gently...though she shivers; an electric type? Oh, this would be interesting. "Y..yea! To Lumiose!"
She's heard things about the city, and the Pachirisu hybrid continues on the trek to the gate with her new friends in toe. From there, she didn't think it would be long...but with that city, who knew.

The group wound soon find themselves in Lumiose, having just passed through the unassuming gate and entering the massive sprawled out city. Talk about a change of scenery.
"Wow, it's big." Is all Hans could say, his Swampert grunting in agreement.
"Look, a Pokemon Center." Gretel pointed out. "Hans and I will find a ride, go ahead and get your Pokemon, and maybe that little guy, checked out. Also, see if you can bum a map or something off someone. This city is a maze. We won't go far." And with that Gretel and Hans walked off.

...It was big, but she immediately was hit with visions of a city far different, with no Pokemon and a boy in a black hat calling to her.
...huh. Where was her brain today that she could forget Shibuya and her brother?
Though what Gretel had mentioned, after pointing out things, sounded fair enough. "We can meet back here at the Pokemon center...just in case." She answers, parting from her company to head towards and to the Pokemon Center, carefully removing the lizard Pokemon from her hat and holding it gently. She didn't know what kind it would be around people...
"I may have to put you in a Pokeball if they don't wish to take you in, but that's only to get you a checkup and make sure you're healthy....I hope you'd be okay with that. 'm not gonna leave you...." And maybe inside she could figure out a map..? Though with the way this place pulsed with electricity underground, it didn't feel...too difficult to navigate.

"Bonjour and welcome to Lumiose Pokemon Center, North. Can I help you?" Nurse Joy beamed as Rhyme entered. There were other trainers here but they seemed preoccupied with either lounging around or grooming their Pokemon. One thing Rhyme would notice is the Nurse Joy had a very thick accent. Eh, Kalosians.
"Tile..." Whined Helioptile as it looked at all the other Pokemon anxiously.

She recognized the accent; given what she studied and knew back home...oh, this town was going to make her homesick.
"H-hello! I've been traveling a while and just wanted to get my Pokemon checked in to heal...and then get this guy checked up too. He...kinda found me out in the land outside the gate, and I'm just worried about him..." She pets his head gently, from snout to tail with gentle 'shhhh' noises before turning her attention to the nurse again.
"I've never...done this before...s-so if you aren't busy I'd like some advice...a-and also to know where I can get a map of the City?"

"I'll be glad to look at them, even the petit gars. Just place your Pokeballs on this tray and if the Helioptile would like to come back with me I'll be glad to bring him along." Nurse Joy said as she slid a track over and held her hands out to take the Helioptile. "Also, don't be embarrassed. This city is big. Maps are over there." She said, pointing to a display of paper maps of Lumiose City and other brochures detailing the metropolis.

"If he will come with you...if not, is there any way I could come along with you to bring him back?" She places the creature down in the nurses' arms, noting the way the maps were. It wouldn't take them much time at all, given the layout of the building. She places each of her pokemon in a space, staying close just in case....
The Helioptile simply cries for Rhyme until warmed by the touch of the nurse. It twists itself to watch the small girl, not wanting her to go out of sight. What if the lady found the things chasing it? Doesn't want to go back to be snack!!

"Hm, it does seem a little scared. Why don't you come on back." The nurse said with a smile as she handed the Helioptile back to Rhyme, opened up the little door on the side of the counter so Rhyme could come on back then picked up the tray and proceeded through the door behind the counter which led to the healing machine and examining room.
"Set him right here." She said, pressing a button on the machine causing the top compartment to open up. "He doesn't seem too hurt so a quick second on the machine should pick him up." She said as she proceeded to load Rhyme's Pokeballs up.
