"In a bit? We'll move to the couch and I'll sit up with you." Nasir bites at his lip, fiddles once more with a clip in Alexis's hair and then leaves long enough to get them the clothing he mentioned.

He's back with a Darlene's shirt, for now, and a Rider-Waite hoodie to pull over it (and, of course, they smell like the good things that Nasir cooks and the young man himself but he does not notice this). There's some pajama bottoms as well, if they want them, and strangely enough they're the right size.

His fingers pluck at the blanket, shifts it away from their shoulders, to get the shirt on at least. "Sleep soon," he promises, but knows it won't be for him because he has to keep an eye on Alexis.

Alexis grumbles discontentedly, but seems comforted enough to stop asking for the moment; they'd ask where he got the stuff in their size, but -- but. It's ******** tiring to be a skeptic all the time. And that's just one more expenditure of energy they're really not excited for at the minute. (Unlike the others, however, it's something they don't have to do -- and so they don't.)

It smells nice. Well. It's nice to not smell iron all over their face, at least. (God, they probably can't even proper eat it anymore. That sucks, on further inspection. That really sucks.) Getting the shirt on is a bit of a trial, with their arms so heavy and tired - but they deal.

"Y'don't gotta sit up with me. I'm not gonna do anything except sleep."

Nasir huffs, fixes the shirt on them once it's on and then turns to get something to make sure their face is entirely cleaned up because he thinks he might have missed some of the-

He needs to change himself but that can wait.

"Just for a bit, alright? Until I'm sure you're fine." Nasir worries and there's no stopping that. Not with his senses out of sorts and-

He holds his hand out for Alexis to take. "Come on." For once there's no uncertainty in his voice, just for Alexis to do this thing for him.

Alexis takes his hand -- their grasp is uncertain, limp, but deceptively strong despite that -- and pushes themself off the stool with a soft huff, standing a little uneven on their feet (because even despite Nasir's best efforts, they'd still lost quite some blood just getting to his place, enough to make them go paler than usual and unsteady in their walk).

They're willing to do anything he tells them. They don't want to think for themself, right now. They just want to rest.

Good enough.

Nasir tugs them for a moment but it's just to pull Alexis against his side and slide his arm around them to keep them steady.

The living room isn't that far and there's a comfortable couch there with a blanket on the back and pillows there (as clearly it was a place people fell asleep sometimes).

He sits Alexis down before he sits down himself, right next to them. "Get comfortable, Alexis." Then he pauses, because-

Well.

He puts a hand into their hair and looks at them.

"You're safe here, okay?" It's an absolute truth of Nasir's world and he shares it with them like it's a precious secret. Inside this house what is outside no longer matters.

Alexis only mumbles in response, in the way someone does when they have something planned to say but their mouth refuses to cooperate, and leans into Nasir like it'll make him leave any less than he's already not going to.

That doesn't make sense, but they're tired, it doesn't have to.

(Pulling the blanket on top of them, they're out like a light, curled into his side.)

Nasir huffs a little, mostly because of the way they collapse but he settles the blanket around them and then settles himself.

The television is turned on and Steven Universe is resumed because it's good and-

A little good was probably needed.

He keeps a hand in their hair, fiddling idly with the clips there while he makes sure Alexis lives while they sleep.

Nasir will leave eventually, once he satisfies his own worries.
