Keiko was surprised when she saw the lack of passengers on the boat. That the only people there besides her was Toren and one other person worried her, though it explained why Toren hadn't excused himself yet - not that many people to talk to.
"Sub? He's okay," Keiko answered, though she quickly grew unsatisfied with that answer. "I don't know him that well, but from what I can tell, he's still the same person he was when you and I last met."
Keiko thought about mentioning Sub's change in behavior when Aile betrayed the team, but she didn't want to bring Toren down further. Especially since he seemed to be perpetually happy any other time she'd seen him. That he was this depressed had to mean that something was weighing heavily on his soul. Keiko turned to Rala, but she was being quiet, too. Was she overwhelmed by Toren's sad feelings? Or was she deliberately trying not to talk about it, since Toren seemed unwilling to do the same? Keiko couldn't tell, because she didn't share the bond with her that I did.

"That's good..." Toren said, sighing under his breath a bit as if relieved to know that his 'cousin' was doing okay, in fact he almost seemed happy, Rala would know that to be a fact though. The rest of the boat ride was quiet, Toren kind of just shutting down and the old man with the Wingull falling asleep. Once they arrived in Slateport City things would get a little more exciting. "We've arrived in Slateport harbor. End of the line." A man declared over the loudspeakers. "Wait, Slateport? I thought we were going straight to Lilycove, that's where my next ship is! What gives!?" Toren shouted, being a little more active now. The man would jump up and begin to stomp up to the upper deck, the old man startled awake by him.

"Hey, calm down," Keiko said gently, standing up and focusing on Toren, so that any indication of anyone's feelings through Rala would be lost on her. "Let's go talk to the Captain, see what's going on."

"Let's go talk to the Captain, see what's going on." Toren didn't say anything else save for some explicable mutters under his breath as he followed after Keiko. Soon enough the two arrived on top of the deck just in time to see the ship's Pokemon carrying their cargo off the boat and onto the port. Keiko and Toren both would spot the portly captain leaning on a rail watching the Pokemon and sailors do their work. Toren was originally going to mouth off right away but decided to let Keiko handle this.

Rala followed behind Keiko as well, not trusting that the crew would react favorably toward a telepathic Pokemon whose trainer was still some distance away.
"Excuse me," Keiko said once she was close enough to the captain that she could be certain he would hear her. "What's going on? I thought this ship was to dock at Lilycove? Has something happened?"

"We ended up taking a better offer from a different buyer here in Slateport, simple as that. Go where the money is." He said in a rather rude tone. "Besides, we got all you to Hoenn. We didn't have to allow passengers you know." Wait, didn't they pay?

"I... guess that makes sense," Keiko replied, shrinking away form the obviously agitated ship captain.
"He seemed pretty set on docking here," Keiko said to Toren and Rala. "I don't think we're going to be able to change his mind."

And I don't even have my Skarmory on hand to fly me to Lilycove!" He grunted. "Going to have to do it the old fashioned way and walk." He grumbled as he stomped off the ship and onto the dock.

"I guess..." Keiko said, following behind Toren before a thought crossed her mind. "Rala, Terashi studied the geography of this region in the Academy, didn't he? Do you think you can ask him how to get to Lilycove from here?"
"I could, but...," The Gardevoir relayed telepathically, seeming reluctant about Keiko's request. "I don't want to disturb him. It's part of why I'm going with you instead of teleporting you there. Until he says he's at the part of his training where he needs me to continue, I don't know how intense his training is, and I don't to hinder anything."
"Oh.." Keiko frowned, before another thought came to her. "Do you.. would you mind teleporting us to Lilycove, then?"
"Sure... if I knew where that was," Rala replied. "Thing is, I have to have been to a place before I can teleport to it."
"I... guess that makes sense," Keiko shrugged, turning to Toren before finally asking. "You wouldn't know how to get to Lilycove from here, would you? I've never been to this region before, and outside of Mossdeep, I don't think Rala has, either."

"Yeah, I know how to get there." Toren grunted, not that he was irritated with Keiko but with the whole situation instead. "It'll take awhile but we'll get there eventually. Will go much quicker if we can get a bike in town. Let's go." He said, waving Keiko to follow him.

Keiko nodded with a smile, and followed Toren north, with Rala floating beside them. Little did Keiko know, that the bikes Toren mentioned were one city away, and there was a route filled with both wild Pokemon and Pokemon Trainers to get through beforehand.

TerashiLeonGoken Keiko nodded with a smile, and followed Toren north, with Rala floating beside them. Little did Keiko know, that the bikes Toren mentioned were one city away, and there was a route filled with both wild Pokemon and Pokemon Trainers to get through beforehand. Route 110 wasn't the most complicated route, you simply had two choices presented to you. One was the most simple, that bicycle path. Unfortunately they didn't have any bikes to go on a pleasant bike ride to the next city. The second option, the one they would have to choose, was a zigzagging path underneath the bicycle path through patches of tall grass along the water side with plenty of wild Pokemon itching to battle. "I'll be honest, I've never been on this route before. I know of it and I've heard of it but this is my first time experiencing it." He admitted to Keiko as he took out his Pokegear and looked at a map of Hoenn. "Says here without a bike we have to take the lower route." He said, pointing to the grassy path. "Fun." He grumbled as he stashed his Pokegear and proceeded forward.

"Even with a bike, we're bound to get into some fights sooner or later," Keiko sighed, getting Cutie's ball ready for the inevitable. "Even if we are able to convince trainers to let us by so we can get you on your boat as quickly as possible, wild Pokemon are unlikely to care."
"Whether I try to convince them or not," Rala added telepathically.

"That's a good point." Toren admitted as he continued along the grassy path. It would seem though that Keiko's words were being heard by whatever gods one believed in as a patch of grass began to rustle and from it came a snarling little pup. "Pooch pooch!" Barked the Dark type at Rala before rushing it as it prepared to bite. Feisty thing.

Rala would be slow with a rebuttal, allowing the Dark-type to come within biting distance before responding with a dance that created Grass-type projectiles around her. The Poochyena would undoubtedly get struck by a few, not to say that Rala would escape harm with her daring tactic.
After realizing what happened, Keiko would let Cutie out of her ball, insisting nonverbally that Rala let her handle it. "Fairy Wind, Cutie!"
The Cutiefly would flap her wings as quick as she could, imbuing the air around her in Fairy-type energy before pushing it toward the offending wild Pokemon.
