But it seems their luck might just be turning around. They find another good looking mushroom nearby. Both pray that this trend continues.

The pair of squirrels recognize these troublemakers from yesterday and quite literally toss a few mushrooms at Maia and Birch, chittering at them to just leave. It's rude, but at least the two are closer to their goal.

And yet another healthy, edible mushroom comes across their path! Maybe this is a trail leading them to the mother load. Please let it be a trail leading them to the mother load.

Well, it doesn't lead them to the mother load. But it does lead them to a small group of other woodland creatures who aren't nearly as generous as the two squirrels. While two distract Maia and Birch, another sneaks into their bag and snatched a mushroom.
