Challenge 2: Everybody Say Love
Reminder of comment criteria: Are base attributes intact? Challenge met? (Since this challenge is more open, I'll be able to analyze this more this round.) Pros and cons of look. And finally, description.
Designer (Model): Darkerdemons (Rae) Score: 7.5 Comments: As far as I can tell, base is good! As for the challenge, I have mixed feelings. This does not instantly say V-day to me, but the red does help sell it. On the other hand, I love the attempt at something more original than "waiting in bed". I think more could have been done to push the theme, but I don't hate what was done. Moving along, what I don't like are those strange...leaves? They are weirdly green and just kind of floating there? I also think the legs when combined with everything verge on stickish. That said, this look really works on Rae, she looks absolutely stunning and I think the background does pull it together. Speaking of which, solid description this round! Huge step up from last time. All in all, if this had been a beach or casual wear round I think Demons would have scored a little higher overall.
Designer (Model): Pianette (Jiang Li) Score: 8.5 Comments: Base features are good. Very on theme! I absolutely adored this at first glance. Everything about it is just very soft and pretty and a little mischievous. Ultimately a big step up from last week for Pianette. However, I also could not see the wings and it took me a few minutes to sort out that it was an angel/demon story instead of a human/demon one, which I like more but feel wasn't totally sold. I wish the belt was gone. It makes it look almost like her center is missing and that's still part of him and there isn't enough black throughout for it to work. I'm a big fan of speech bubbles, but not in this instance. Isn't really needed. The pink does wash out Jiang Li, but the background counterbalances that for me a bit and gives the whole image a softer look, like the party has mood lighting. I feel like the description could have been more focused, but again I see improvement. Critique aside, I do think this is one of the strongest looks so far.
Designer (Model): Edcy (Ginny) Score: 0 Comments: no entry
Designer (Model): Sana Minatozaki (Abby) Score: 4 Comments: The base is there. Abby is technically on theme. Where to begin with this one, geez. So the couple doesn't match each other, and I don't mean just color-wise, they just generally don't look to be in the same setting. Why did Sana choose such a bundled up companion to stick on a clearly spring background with a girl in early fall clothes? It feels slapped together. The bubble is obstructive and while Japanese people irl can look any given way, that is not the culture I get from Abby at first, second, or third glance and this feels like a strangled attempt on Sana's part to force us to accept the narrative the speech bubble provides. Abby's outfit doesn't work on her at all. The colors are wrong for her orange hair and were not a requirement for the theme this time. The sleeves are meh, and the headband doesn't lend anything to the look except a feeling of same-ness when compared to Sana's look last round. Speaking of familiar vibes, this whole look instantly reminded me of the look in cycle one which got Sana sent home. Maybe not the wisest thing to revisit. Description is a mess in terms of formatting and information. Tiny letters and SHOUTING are unappealing. And what did we tell them all about links?
Designer (Model): elphiethesane (Ophelia) Score: 9 Comments: Base check. This look isn't just on theme, it's one of the more creative outfits. Colors look splendidly distributed. Leaning into black instead of white as an accent keeps this from being washed out for me because while the look is bright, it isn't low energy or lacking color overall. The classic look works sooo well on Ophelia. The only downsides for me are that the white details get a bit lost with all the pink, and while the pink doesn't wash her out in my opinion, it isn't the strongest color for Ophelia. The big win on this for me is that speech bubble. It doesn't just work, it pulls everything together. Without it, Ophelia would look bored/sad on the phone, but with it the story becomes very clear. That's how you use a speech bubble! Description isn't the best or worst, felt a little defensive, but still gave us a process so I'm satisfied.
Designer (Model): sufjan stebens (Robin) Score: 7.5 Comments: Base is good. It feels vaguely on theme. It is for sure a date location, but I don't read shy from Robin's expression. It almost looks like she's single on V-day and trying to make the best of it. The thick clothes and closed off hat suggest the loner vibe even more. Still on theme, just not what stebens was going for. The avatar itself is cute. There are a few more items that create the illusion of roller skating that might have worked better, the skates are very pixelated and the rest of the look didn't lean into that. It's very dark at the top and so the look feels a teensy bit unbalanced. A belt or a lighter hat and skates might have helped. The look is cute and simple, the description basically the same, I just wish we hadn't been told this was a date because it doesn't feel like one.
Designer (Model): Destined Savior (Jessica) Score: 3 Comments: The base is there. As for theme, I see the effort but my very first thought was "drunk American girl crashing a Japanese fireworks festival." The headpiece is a mess, the Edo-era thing was not leaned into enough to sell this. The dress looks boxy, the weird legs are barely visible but still clearly knock-kneed and broken looking. Meaty paws are a fail in my book. We have arm mods for years, no excuse for base hands. The description is fine, but a little weak, would have loved to know why Savior stuck a milk bottle in Jessica's hair.
Designer (Model): Ultrabord (April) Score: 6.5 Comments: Base is good. I get a Valentine-ish vibe, but it does feel like April's date is ignoring her. I'm not a big fan of this much matchy-match, especially with a solid color. On top of that the shading is different in April's look vs the companion, so it's both too matchy and not matchy enough. I feel like the blacks were better balanced and I like the attempt at something different even if the execution is only passable. Description is fine, doesn't sell the flaws though.
Designer (Model): METTAT0N (Lucia) Score: 5.5 Comments: Base looks right. I see a kinky Valentine's night. So I like the bed and whip combo, even though I've seen the two together a million times. I too detest the breast definition. There are other items that accentuate the chest that wouldn't have looked so strange or left behind those hot pink pasties I can very clearly see. I hate the use of thick legs for no reason, the designers are never consistent with it and they rarely use them to enhance the look. In this case it makes Lucia look squat because her arms are super thin and the legs suddenly get large. There is just more about this that I dislike than like. Description is solid.
Designer (Model): Dangerous Tinfoil Shoes (Bryce) Score: 7 Comments: Base is good. Feels on theme. I like the red outfit well enough, but just because Bryce's hair is red doesn't mean that's her best color. I like the little set up, but feel like the chair is weirdly pixelated up against Bryce, but I also understand seating limitations. The look is really very decent, I just feel underwhelmed. The worst part is the background, should have gone with the purple version of the same item to set the evening wear look and make Bryce feel more in place. Solid description.
Designer (Model): RENstrawberry (Tara) Score: 8.5 Comments: Base, check! Could be more on-theme. I get the goddess vibe, but sexy chick in a gondola has been done and doesn't exactly scream Valentine's to me. That said, such a huge step up from the original entry! The color choices are spot on, Tara looks stunning. I don't mind the dove as much as other judges, but there are better bird choices on Gaia than that huge guy. Description was very good! Overall I'm pleased with this.
Designer (Model): DAVlD DUCHOVNY (Jen) Score: 6 Comments: Base is there. I get the date vibe enough, but couldn't shake the idea they were twins going on a platonic V-day outing. It's just so matchy! Not just in the single scheme, but the hair colors, the underwhelming poses. I like sadodere, but this is a lot. It's mostly cute overall, but Jen looks hella frumpy and it's entirely the fault of that cardigan and the way it pinches in the middle and splays everywhere else. Background might have helped make the image pop. Description is a little slim.
Designer (Model): Toshi Yukiko (Sienna) Score: 5.5 Comments: Base is there. I get the Valentine's party concept right away. Red was a poor choice for Sienna. It looks dull and makes her hair stand out in a bad way. The legs are twiggy and are pixelated so shiny they look out of place with the rest of the model. Background is fine on its own, but draws more attention to Sienna's hair that really needed to be balance. I really like the rest of the outfit and silhouette, but deeply wish it was another color. Description gets a passing grade, even if some efforts were off the mark.
Designer (Model): Haji Demon (Uma) Score: 6.5 Comments: Base check. I see the getting ready theme. I actually liked this outfit a lot, but the longer I looked the more issues I found. The arm mod is pixelated very hard and makes them stand off the face a bit too much. The weird sash (jacket?) looks out of place without anything to balance it. That said, if the background wasn't such a mess this could have ranked at least a few half-points higher. The petals and pillow just do not work at all. Maybe if they'd been different colors, but mostly I just wish they were gone. I appreciate the detail in the description, but that's just long-winded.
Designer (Model): The Dread Wolf (Isabelle) Score: 9 Comments: Base check. On theme! First of all, best use of that background I've ever seen. The arm mod and legs work with it instead of against it. The colors look soft and elegant on Isabelle. I don't mind the centralized black because it isn't overwhelming and it's in lingerie. I was thiiiis close to a perfect score, but I hate that the sheer over-shirt disappears into the look. Also, first the entry was huge, then it was too small to see detail, Dread needs to figure that out. Description is great. I love this look.
I went ahead and plugged in scores in case my judging is delayed again this round. I'll finish judging whenever I have computer access. Done now.

Challenge 2: Everybody Say Love
Sana Minatozaki (Abby) Score: 5 Pros: There was a good flow of color in the outfit. Abby matches the background well. Cons: First off; the bubble. It covers the companion and its so unnecessary and distracting. I don't get a "senpai" vibe from her companion at all. Her companion doesn't match Abby or the background, Abby's outfit is so color scheme set that either her companion needed to match or she should have been dressed more casually (aka without a set color scheme). The description left much to be desired (stop with the disclaimers!).
Pianette (Jiang Li) Score: 9 Pros: Great color flow with background, companion, and outfit. I like the dark theme and blacks contrasted with the light pink. Creative approach to use of a companion. Short but telling description. Cons: The red heart in the background distracts from the otherwise great balance of color. Jiang Li definitely needed some black in her outfit, but those awkward strings were a bad choice.
Destined Savior (Jessica) Score: 5 Pros: Creative theme, decent color flow in outfit. Cons: I hate the head items. Point blank. I also detest base hands. Doesn't say Valentine's Day or date to me. The background was a bad choice.
DAVID DUCHOVNY (Jen) Score: 6 Pros: I liked the matching companion and overall balance and flow of color throughout Jen's outfit and her companion. Definitely get the school uniform vibe from their outfits. Cons: It's very plain and a bit boring. The design itself doesn't tell much of a story. I think Jen needs a head item to tie her outfit together.
Ultrabord (April) Score: 7 Pros: The entire design was very balanced in color and items used. Cons: April's pose is...awkward. This is also the third school girl with companion look used. Description left much to be desired.
Dangerous Tinfoil Shoes (Bryce) Score: 7.5 Pros: Outfit works well with model. The outfit matches Bryce's hair very well and the patterns and textures used all go well together. Cons: Some dark elements in the background would have tied it in with the outfit better, Bryce looks awkward and out of place. I think a necklace would have finished the outfit off nicely.
The Dread Wolf (Isabelle) Score: 8.5 Pros: Good, natural movement and pose. The background is incorporated seamlessly with the model. Wonderful balance of colors. Cons: Dread Wolf keeps giving us solid entries with either enlarged or blurry pictures, which is sad. Even though this choice was defended in the description; I don't like the stark black lingerie with no black used anywhere else in the design. I also don't love the red rose petals when there's no red in the rest of the design.
sufjan stebens (Robin) Score: 7 Pros: Realistic illusion of movement. Creative theme. Solid incorporation of background and pose. Cons: Not screaming Valentine's Day date. The outfit is so light in comparison to Robin's dark features, hat, and skates. The hat was overall just a bad choice; it blends in too well with Robin's head and the background (if you squint your eyes her whole head just disappears).
Haji Demon (Uma) Score: 7.5 Pros: The pose is good. Description is good. The outfit with the model and the added mirror are on point. Cons: The background ruined this otherwise solid design. My eyes are immediately drawn to her bright red chair (no bueno). The curtains and floor are almost rusty which doesn't play well with Uma's softly colored features and outfit.
Darkerdemons (Rae) Score: 6.5 Pros: The dress, hat, and glasses all work seamlessly together in texture and color. Cons: The pose is so awkward and I can't get over it. I always hate this arm mod because it looks like the lower hand is deformed. Her arms are bigger than her legs, which are tiny and weird in comparison to everything else. I don't really see Valentine's Day date when I see this.
Toshi Yukiko (Sienna) Score: 6 Pros: The whole outfit is good. Textures and colors match, good balance. Cons: It's so difficult to make out the model with so many dark elements. Sienna is dark featured, her outfit is dark red, the background is dark (besides the almost awkwardly light window scene). I could barely read the description and it hurt my eyes to try. Luck for my eyes, it was short. Not lucky for her though; it was short and doesn't explain her process and choices at all.
Edcy (Ginny) Score: 0 Pros: No entry. Cons: No entry.
elphiethesane (Ophelia) Score: 8 Pros: All of the textures, patterns, and colors in the outfit are matching and have great flow. The pose works seamlessly with the chair and is natural. The chosen theme is creative and works perfectly with Ophelia's base expression. Cons: Honestly, the bubble really threw off the entire design. I couldn't get over it. My eyes kept going back to it no matter how hard I tried to ignore it. But, it also added the context needed to sell the story so...I don't know...
RENstrawberry (Tara) Score: 9 Pros: The balance and consistency of color is perfect. I loved all the elements added to represent Aphrodite. Overall just a solid entry. Cons: I hate the cartoon-y dove. Big nope. I don't like how she's wearing a top but not bottoms, either make her nude or in a bra and panties. I love me a good naked design so I honestly would have loved for REN to go all out with it (but maybe that's just me lol).
METTAT0N (Lucia) Score: 7.5 Pros: The pose is natural and realistic. METTAT0N really knows how to work with Lucia and I dig it. Creative take on bedroom scene. Cons: Her head is very empty. I think a head item would have been a bad choice, but some earrings would have really brought it all together I think. Some elements of the outfit really clash. It looks like she's wearing panties over her lingerie and her bra item is bad all together (I know there are much better items that would have given Lucia the look METTAT0N was looking for without looking so out of place with the rest of the outfit).

TOP SCORES; Pianette with 8.4 RENstrawberry with 8.9 The Dread Wolf with 8.75
BOTTOM SCORES; Destined Savior with 4.4 Edcy with 0 because she didn't enter.
These are some rough numbers, as Dante finishes judging things may change, but I think what we have are enough to give us a direction. I would like to see Edcy eliminated, even though they won the first challenge, because I simply will not try to hunt them down every challenge.
As for the winner, I think go with the numbers and give it to Ren. It was just a phenomenal look, and while the numbers were close, she did have the highest individual marks across the board. I think she's earned it. Pianette and Dread also had some stellar looks though, so I'm open to giving either of them the win as well.
egg! The next challenge is slated to be the future android challenge that you picked! If you wanted to write up the description for that, that would be awesome! Could also make an example if you wanted to.
I also wanted to make a little disclaimer, I might be more absent in the coming couple of weeks. My best friend's father passed suddenly today, and we're all reeling from it quite a bit. Her sister is getting married end of April and the family is just struggling. And I don't know how much I'll be around as I try to help them out and things, and cope with it as well.

I'm good with giving Ren the win, but I feel like the other two gave a more concrete idea of Valentines Date, whereas their's was more conceptual. It was beautiful though and I do love a conceptual piece.
Its a shame Edcy didn't submit a look, I was looking forward to what they had in store, but any look is better than no look, so I agree they should go.
I'll give it a shot! Here's a brief description:
Quote: Challenge 3: The Distant Future It is the future and technology has advanced to a point where everyone not only wears their tech, but has become their tech! You must incorporate robotics into your model somehow. Are they an android: part human part machine? Have they gone full robot? Do they need it to function or is it just cosmetic? You must incorporate technology into your model and not just have it in their environment. Im not sure if an example should be made or not? I feel like it would narrow their options both with concepts and with items. However, if you want an example, there is always the entry I made for the War/weapons challenge where Xoco has tech implanted in her face with the robot companion.
I'm sorry you and your friend and their family are struggling with this. Take as much time as you need. Don't worry about the guild, between the four of us i'm sure we can keep things running smoothly.

Yeah, I made sure to put the scores in so you could complete final judging, since I knew I would be late to finish the critique portion. I'll make sure to do that every round in case my computer time gets cut short, so I don't hold up proceedings. I'm fine with going with the numbers as usual (Even if I admittedly liked Dread's more). Is there no longer immunity for the previous week's winner though? I feel like this was discussed, I just don't recall and want to be clear. Also I do think Edcy should go home either way, because no entry is just unacceptable. Condolences for your friend's father. I hope you're holding up okay. Thank you everyone. We're all doing alright at the moment. heart
Normally there is immunity for the previous week's winner, but I won't send someone home when they've been on time and working hard over someone who's had to be gone after every time. It just isn't fair and I want to make it clear that immunity doesn't mean the towel can just be thrown in.
I think that description is also great egg, and I agree that an example probably shouldn't be included. I'll work on feedback and things today, hopefully get the next challenge up sometime today or tomorrow. c:

Challenge 3: The Distant Future
Darkerdemons (Rae) Score: 8.5 Comments: I don't really see anything to do with the Fifth Element Diva Plavalaguna, but that is minor since it's a good look. Would have liked a little more tech I think.
Pianette (Jiang Li) Score: 8 Comments: Little messy, very techy and appropriate for the theme. Brings out the yellow in Jiang Li's skin tone a bit much I think, makes her look almost sickly. Kind of works for the challenge at the same time since it makes her look less human and more android.
Sana Minatozaki (Abby) Score: 8 Comments: I don't like the cheek colors, makes her look like a chipmunk hoarding food in her cheeks. Otherwise this is my favourite look on Abby yet. Still the bolding and BIG and variation in the process.
elphiethesane (Ophelia) Score: 9.5 Comments: God damn, this is a good look. It absolutely meets the challenge, is still fashionable, is balanced and makes Ophelia look good and strong. Only thing I'm not sure I love is the glowing core, but that's minor.
sufjan stebens (April) Score: 7 Comments: This is cute. Cute little survivor girl in the apocalypse. Tech all looks entirely removable. Don't get any kind of robotics. After reading the description I see the arm. Idk. Still think April needed to be..roughed up a little? Still looks a little too cute and polished.
Destined Savior (Jessica) Score: 3 Comments: ...mm. Not sized right. Flowy fabric?? I think the android/robotic pieces should be visible and not so hidden. Don't..get the ears even if I know what was being gone for.. Honestly if she'd dressed her in black and gold, matched the ears, would have been more successful. Just a mismatched mess, sorry.
Ultrabord (Ginny) Score: 8 Comments: This is the far more successful take on what David was going for with Tara. Looks like she's pumping iron with her right arm. Could be more creative.
METTAT0N (Lucia) Score: 6.5 Comments: It sucks when the builder crashes and progress is lost, multiple times. This looks like a last ditch effort kind of look. It isn't terrible, isn't great. Tech isn't the techiest? But..it works. Just underwhelming.
Dangerous Tinfoil Shoes (Bryce) Score: 7.5 Comments: This is different, and I like different. This is simple, and I don't always like simple. I like the big wrench and mechanic feel, and proportions make me think of Final Fantasy. I don't super love the leg mod? But man, I love the commitment. I kind of would have liked some steampunk kind of goggles over the eyes? Just to take it to the next level. The top/breasts look weird.
RENstrawberry (Robin) Score: 6 Comments: ..so Ren has done some amazing things, just look at last week. This doesn't blow me away. I don't like the scar, even if it is absolutely allowed. I like the suit but she kind of looks pregnant? And little peg legs. Like a pirate that lost two legs. In space. Idk, I think if there'd been something on her face/eyes it would have been better?
DAVlD DUCHOVNY (Tara) Score: 7 Comments: Tara is a model that demands strong, capable looks, and I dread the day someone really makes her look bad. Wth are the spiky swipe things behind her head? Baaaasic description. Wish there was more happening with her arms to match the dynamic leg pose. Don't love the hat? Good colors though, good balance, would be nice to see a little more tech.
Toshi Yukiko (Sienna) Score: 6 Comments: So bright. Ow. But I like the look itself. Like the bright colors and the different take on things. Feels more..modern than futuristic? Not quite techy enough I don't think. More I look at it, the less I like it, haha.
Haji Demon (Uma) [Score: 5 Comments: Haji's avatar is amazing. On topic though; Eh. There is a lot going on. It meets the theme. I don't like the..silver on the hair that is perpendicular to the headphones. I feel like I see the intent and the inspiration but just missing some execution.
The Dread Wolf (Isabelle) Score: 9.5 Comments: THIS is what I wanted to see. Yes! I just..this is marvelous. Maybe don't love the black scroll work on the legs connecting the white, but don't date it.
Hey everyone! These are some quick comments and scores. I will be out of town at a comicon Thursday-Sunday, and don't know how much I'll be around. Next challenge will be casual clothes! Tink if you want to write up the challenge description, go for it!

Challenge 3: The Distant Future
Darkerdemons (Rae) Score: 9 Comments: Base looks good. Wow, oh wow! I think this might be the best look I've seen on Rae so far. I really love how the colors look on her and what a gentle flow the whole thing has. Rae's features really do lend themselves to the mecha doll concept and I picked up on what Demons was going for before I read the description. I will say the blue of the headphones better matches the background than the blue on her dress, but that's rather subtle (as far as I can tell anyway, my eyes occasionally struggle with blue detection). I keep looking for things to nitpick, but I'm really satisfied with this look and its elements. The only thing I would say is that it's not the most original idea in the world, but a lot of the future themes the other contestants chose aren't either. Description was solid, confirmed my positive thoughts rather than contradicted them, which is always a good sign.
Pianette (Jiang Li) Score: 8 Comments: Base looks good. So this is one of those weird looks that was great at first glance, then got worse, then better again as I looked at longer. I like the colors, especially the use of steel that no one else utilized. That said, the headpiece looks a little off balance, but I do appreciate trying to match it in the pants. I feel so-so abut the speech bubble this time. Good use of background. But I hate that purple overwatch rabbit. It stands out like a sore thumb, it's just floating there, it doesn't appear as if she's addressing it so I don't get why it's there. Easily that rabbit is the worst part of the look for me. I like the concept too, description was decent, but intention only 80% landed.
Sana Minatozaki (Abby) Score: 8 Comments: Base is good. This is one of Sana's better looks as well! Seems like this is a strong theme. I love the blues and purples on Abby. I like that she's generating her own electricity. Looks like an escaped experiment. Could look more tech, but it's not the worst in that department. Sana's descriptions always rub me the wrong way, but I appreciate the slight attempt to tone it down.
elphiethesane (Ophelia) Score: 9 Comments: Base is good. Oof! One of the top looks this round, no question. It's very tech, very charming, screams fashion AND doesn't default to blue. I'm not crazy about the glasses or that her hair gets a tiny bit lost in the wings, but I am mostly pleased. Description is good. At this point I'm just happy to see everyone condensing and engaging.
sufjan stebens (April) Score: 7.5 Comments: What I can see of the base looks right. My first thought when I saw this was, very generic. My second was that it needed more tech. We have prosthetics of this kind now, so this doesn't read far future to me. I'm just bored of dystopian/desert future looks. There is nothing inherently wrong with the outfit, it just doesn't pop. Description is solid.
Destined Savior (Jessica) Score: 2 Comments: Base is there. Nothing matches, at least not well enough to save this look. I'm not going to sugar coat this, this look feels like someone's first avatar from 2005. Base hands and base legs have no excuse. It's just covered in wraps? I get the concept, but execution is extremely poor.
Ultrabord (Ginny) Score: 6.5 Comments: Base looks okay. Background was used by Ren first. DAVID already used the skateboard item and I don't like such huge repeats. That said, Ultrabord handled the leg mod better. Ginny looks more engaged and interesting. However, the torso direction is still off and I hate that arm mod. It looks like the arm is broken and just hanging there. Also could do without the sunglasses since it's night time and they don't read tech to me. Description is fine.
METTAT0N (Lucia) Score: 5 Comments: Base looks in tact. I'd probably rate this one higher than Sufjan's, but METTA posted second and the background and arm mod are repeats. Dystopia is yawn. The looks itself is cool, but there are just a lot of things working against the entry. As for the description, technical glitches suck, but there is LOADS of time for submissions. Take screencaps or something! I used to do that so if I lost my progress I could start over with the same items.
Dangerous Tinfoil Shoes (Bryce) Score: 6 Comments: Base is good. I wish they hadn't changed the look. Hands down, it was stronger before. The headband puts far too much yellow on the head, the goggles around the neck make the avatar look squished. I do like the rest of the look but a background or robot or something could have sold the future look more. Description is nice.
RENstrawberry (Robin) Score: 6.5 Comments: Base is good. This looks feels very anime and I like it. The scar feels needless though. Also, between the dark hair of the model, the brightness of the outfit, and the oversized goggles, the head looks huge. Description didn't sell me on the scar, but otherwise was good.
DAVlD DUCHOVNY (Tara) Score: 4 Comments: Base is there. Colors and starting concepts are good, but praise ends there. Torso is disjointed with the leg mod. Base hands are meat paws and make the pose look even more broken. The hat is very pink compared to the rest of the look. Most importantly, those spikes are from a collar with threads that stretch toward the ceiling. I've used it for meat-locker horror avatars, so seeing it here is just crazy weird and out of place. Description is way short. This whole entry just feels half done.
Toshi Yukiko (Sienna) Score: 9.5 Comments: Base is good. This outfit was a surprise stand-out for me. I got future pop-star cyborg right away. The sparks look to be coming out of her ears which lends to the robotic concept. The colors are so lively and different! I love high-tech blue, but I praise pulling away from that cliche. Sienna looks great in the colors and really balanced. For the first time her hair feels like part of the look instead of an obstruction to it. This, to me, seems like the only truly realistic future avatar out of the lot. Sci-fi rigamarole aside, the future is usually just a slightly elevated version of the now. The only improvement I could suggest would have maybe been a techier arm mod? But it feels like nit-picking. Good description too.
Haji Demon (Uma) Score: 5 Comments: Base is there. There is a lot of strangeness going on with this look. Lots of different shades of blue. Weird horn crystal is weird. Some of the little pieces like the headphones feel out of place or clunky. It's not terrible, and the concept is super cool, but it's sort of flat. Description does feel a little passive aggressive.
The Dread Wolf (Isabelle) Score: 6 Comments: Base is good. This is a very standard look, I expected more of it than we got to be honest. I don't like how the oversized headpiece cuts into Isabelle's hair. Very thin legs coupled with thick arms and huge headwear make this avatar top-heavy. Also something (again probably the arms) is making her torso look insanely squashed and it shrinks the avatar overall. All that said, I love the background and the colors are very pretty and evenly distributed and the concept speaks for itself. Description is clear and detailed.

Challenge 3: The Distant Future
I'll be traveling the next few days and will try to get this done when I have a free second. Ill try to get scores all the scores in and fill in comments when I have time.
Darkerdemons (Rae) Score: 8.5 Comments: The description really sold this. A lot of thought was put into this and even though it looks very simple, it seems to also be complex. Headphones very not a great choice.
Pianette (Jiang Li) Score: 8.5 Comments: Very creative. Very cohesive. Great uniform look and all the colors work well together and are well balanced. Interesting idea and im totally blown away they found not one but two robot bunnies. Great background as well. Speech bubble isn't necessary but it also doesn't detract.
Sana Minatozaki (Abby) Score: 6 Comments: No tech. I dont consider the headphones/ears tech. They also dont really go with the concept...Not sure why they're there. I like that the pose looks likes she floating and discharging the lighting, but I also just dont get what the idea behind this is?? Defiantly a step up for Sana though.
elphiethesane (Ophelia) Score: 9 Comments:
sufjan stebens (April) Score: 7 Comments: Bionic arm. Check. Good use of the face mask to hide her sweet, childish face. I like the background choice. The legs were an interesting choice. They make her look squat and like her torso was shortened.
Destined Savior (Jessica) Score: 3 Comments:
Ultrabord (Ginny) Score: 7.5 Comments: Same background as Ren. Same legmod as David. Happy to see a chill future and not an apocalyptic one. I like it overall and dont really have a problem with it, but the robot arm is just hanging at such an odd angle it looks really weird.
METTAT0N (Lucia) Score: 6.5 Comments: Same background and armmod as Sufjan. Its very similar to Sufjan's which is a shame because Lucia looks badass. The shoulder pads were a good choice to add bulk. Too bad about the glitching.
Dangerous Tinfoil Shoes (Bryce) Score: 7.5 Comments: The wrench was a good choice for a mechanic working on giant robots. The bright colors work well with bryce. It took me far too long to figure out what the tech was in this. Honestly, it does not seem technological. It looks like she just has prosthetics, which is advanced medically, but not really technologically. Maybe if they were more bionic, as is, they are just metal sticks. Goggles are hard to see. I thought they were a crop top with a collar. Yellow bandanna is way too much yellow in one spot. I actually prefer their first look.
RENstrawberry (Robin) Score: 7.5 Comments: I totally thought this was a body suit or the same item, the top and bottom work very well together. Good use of the background. Love the scar to emphasize the human part of her but it also emphasizes how bare her face is compared to the rest. Very stiff. I get that shes a robot but the hair seems to be blowing in the wind and it just seems so strangely organic compared to the body. A dynamic pose might have taken it a step further.
DAVlD DUCHOVNY (Tara) Score: 5.5 Comments: I dont know if this fills the brief or not. I feel like it can be a little clearer which is where a better description would have been helpful. I've docked points for both things not really being up to par. Is she a robot skating a hoverboard and she needs to be recharged? Or does the hoverboard need to be recharged? The arms should have been modded as they would have added to the outfit. Dont like the facemask. I think he did good with the colorscheme and the concept was good. Just needed to be finished.
Toshi Yukiko (Sienna) Score: 8.5 Comments:

Challenge 3: The Distant Future
Sana Minatozaki (Abby) Score: 9 Pros: I love the chosen color scheme and how it fades from blue on top to purple on the bottom in the outfit and in the background. This is overall just a very well balanced and well-composted entry. Cons: It definitely reads as futuristic, but not exactly robotic. I feel like the lightening doesn't fit well with the geometric patterns throughout the rest of the piece.
Pianette (Jiang Li) Score: 6.5 Pros: This is definitely a creative theme that reads as futuristic and robotic. Cons: The torso is very cluttered in comparison to the legs. The color of the torso is not a good fit for the model's skin tone. There's very little to no consistence of color and texture.
Destined Savior (Jessica) Score: 2.5 Pros: The bright blues throughout the piece work well together. Cons: The yellow ears don't match with anything else and are random. The wraps make no sense. It's the wrong size. The base arms are used, again, and base legs beside the one robot leg.
DAVID DUCHOVNY (Tara) Score: 4 Pros: I like the chosen color theme. I see a lot of potential in the torso, legs, and mask. Cons: It feels incomplete with the base arms. The hat looks strange with the model's hair. There's not a clear scheme and the description doesn't help clear that up.
Ultrabord (Ginny) Score: 4 Pros: Good color match and distribution. Cons: Same leg pose and background as other entries. The head is a bit plain, could use some silver. The arm looks clunky like she has to drag it around with her rather than use it.
Dangerous Tinfoil Shoes (Bryce) Score: 8 Pros: I'm really loving this outfit. This is a creative character and pose for this challenge. Cons: The colors don't match Bryce's presets very well. I wish there was some pink or blue on the head. Wish they stuck with the original outfit, really.
The Dread Wolf (Isabelle) Score: 9 Pros: Really solid entry. Good color matching. Looks futuristic and robotic. Very well composed theme. Cons: The hands and legs don't go with the outfit and together as well as I'd like them to.
sufjan stebens (April) Score: 6.5 Pros: Good color distribution. Solid description. Cons: The face and left arm are cluttered, but the legs and right arm are very plain; makes for a unbalanced outfit. Doesn't read as very robotic.
Haji Demon (Uma) Score: 5 Pros: Good concept. Definitely futuristic looking. Cons: The description is lacking. Beginning felt more like complaining rather than talking about their process and ideas. The pose is static and boring. There's multiple shades and variations of blues uses that don't work well together.
Darkerdemons (Rae) Score: 9 Pros: Very creative theme. The color matching and distribution are on point. Solid entry all-together. Cons: The butterfly headphones feel weird and unnecessary to me. Not reading as super robotic.
Toshi Yukiko (Sienna) Score: 6 Pros: Creative theme and concept. Good color distribution in the outfit. Cons: Background doesn't fit with the model's outfit and seems unnecessary to relay the concept. Not very robotic, just looks like a pop-y outfit.
elphiethesane (Ophelia) Score: 9 Pros: Another really solid entry from Elphie. Very good consistency of color and texture. Definitely reads as robotic. Cons: I don't love the glasses. I wish there was something in the background to add more interest (although, alternatively, a background or background item could take away from the outfit)
RENstrawberry (Robin) Score: 7.5 Pros: The contrast of blue and red work very well together to make the model pop. Great balance and consistency. Cons: Looks more super hero-esque rather than robotic. Wish there was something more to draw interest.
METTAT0N (Lucia) Score: 6.5 Pros: All the chosen colors work well together. I really like the outfit with the background; reads as post-apocalyptic. Cons: It's a bit clunky looking. Description is lacking.

How's this?Quote: Challenge 4: Casual Friday
What does your model look like on their day off? Dress your model in casual, realistic street clothing. Try to shy away from color schemes and extravagant poses/items while still creating a well composed outfit. This is your chance to create a personality and style for your model! Who are they when they are't modelling?
