Episode 16

Laughing coffin is about to get their revenge on Kirito for murdering two of their own and yet, the leader of laughing coffin is the one who set up that murder to begin with. He has a devil's heart and will have to pay for his crimes somehow. Meanwhile, the guy holding the repairman at bay by gunpoint was working for the pontefex from the last season and was the one who installed the code 871 into everyone's right eye. And he was the one responsible for Admin's overwhelming power.

Episode 17

The PoH from Laughing coffin continues to torment our heroes while the other Laughing coffin member goes after sinon. With their hearts connected to Kirito, Asuna, Sinon, and Leafa are helping Kirito regain his floodlight with the digital help from Higa the guy with glasses.

Episode 18

Kirito finally snaps out of his funk and begins getting revenge on the grinning b*****d responsible for so much mayhem in the underworld.

He gets revenge on PoH and then he takes care of Gabriel with the help of all of his friends. And just when Kirito thought he had lost everything he held so dear, meaning Alice, Yugio, and Asuna, Asuna returns revealing that she wasn't going to leave Kirito there alone because after all, she's his wife.

Alice is introduced to the rest of the real worlders via a press conference and she senses that Kirito is waking up and so she goes to see him. Kirito wants his memory erased, but the people that put him in there won't do that because he has survived the last 200 years and is supposedly the longest human alive. He still looks like a young man though. When he gets home, he cries because he misses Yugio who was an AI that died and Kirito felt that Yugio was his best friend. Back in the real world, someone was phoning Kirito, but Kirito was fast asleep.

Alice was missing, but turned up at Kirito's place. She meets the rest of the family and Kirito promises to do better with his life but studying hard too and not giving up on what he was doing, though he was sorry for worrying everyone again. And then, Kirito, Alice, and Asuna return to the underworld where a space program began. Their first monster to defeat was better known as a lukunga, a giant multiheaded monster with a cycloptic central eye that could regenerate if it wasn't destroyed entirely.
