Calliope's words sunk in and a small amount of relief washed over her. It was the fear of the unknown that made her so weary. All they knew at present was that the light had already started to fade. She wondered how long it would take before it was completely dark. "It seems that our visions are coming true," she whispered.
Her attention went to Flora as she passed out her tea cups. She welcomed the small distraction and sipped the floral tea. "Thank you, Flora." She smiled warmly and finished the tea. "I would be interested to find out if this is something that has happened before, or if it's happened in other places. I also wonder what it will bring...after." She paused at her last words because she couldn't know how long it would last or if it would only be temporary. She could only hope along with the others.
Mystique had always respected how Nightshade was so perceptive and protective. She admired her for her bravery and skill. "I know you'll keep us safe, Nightshade. I have no doubt."
The light grew dimmer. Mystique looked up at the sky, squinting her eyes at the bright sun. She could see that half of it looked to be covered by something. From her and her sisters' dreams, she could surmise that it must be the moon. "It looks like the moon has moved in front of the sun, covering half of it now. Maybe we should light some candles so that when it is fully covered, the darkness will not envelope us completely. Flora, do you have any candles with you?"
