Something told him that if he hadn't said something soon, Matteo would have. While Nico was generally the quiet type who kept his thoughts to himself, he felt spurred to break the silence, both in an attempt to get to know the other vampire better and because he worried a little that he just wasn't engaging enough. While he did not yet have any expectations beyond this night, there was hope, deep down, that maybe... No, he wouldn't think about that right now. Instead, he focused on Matteo's reply, the body pressed against his, and that sultry voice that had drawn him in. When the other vampire called him cute, he couldn't help but grin. Of course, Matteo could just be saying it; used to saying whatever he thought someone else wanted to hear. Ah. What did Nico do? That wasn't a question he would typically answer with honesty, but he did not feel the need to lie for some reason. "I'm a hitman." he shrugged. "My family hires me out as a contract killer." And then didn't pay him for it, which was becoming a bit annoying.

Nico didn’t have to super engaging if he didn’t want to be. Most of his days were spent constantly talking for hours on end. So a little quiet never actually killed him. In fact, it was kind of nice. Besides there were lots of things to do that didn’t require talking. And he suspected they wouldn’t be doing much of that very soon. If Matteo didn’t think he was cute he most certainly would not have called him such. There was no point in saying things just to say them. Well, maybe. Just a little. But he didn’t feel like he needed to in this situation. Nico wasn’t paying him for his time or his attention. Perhaps it was nice to finally meet someone who had an interest beyond what they saw on the surface. At least it seemed that way with the dark haired vampire. Of course, he could have just put on airs. But the blind didn’t get that impression. He wasn’t phased when Nico replied with his profession. In fact, the vampire had quite expected it. “A hit man?” He brushed a bit of blond hair out of his eyes absentmindedly. “That sounds like it would be more lucrative.” Of course, he knew nothing about being a hit man but if someone payed you for it you would think they would pay so you could at least not be stuck at the bar at Lux. “I bet you have some amazing stories though.” Being hunted down by Nico now there was an idea. How could anyone not just want to be murdered by him? The icy blue eyes being the last thing you saw. It sent a tiny shiver up his spine. Well, he wouldn’t want to be killed. Matteo enjoyed his unlife just fine, But the thought….

It was a little surprising the way Matteo responded to Nico’s confession. He hadn’t precisely expected the blonde to go running for the hills, but he had thought maybe there would have been some amount of shock. Or maybe not. They were both Giovannni, after all. There were far more shocking things going on within the clan. “My family seems to think I owe them something, so I don't exactly get paid,” Nico said. Though he tried not to let his irritation leak into his tone, his expression darkened slightly as he gave his head a shake, dark hair falling over his eyes so that he had to reach up to push it aside. “But I have a place to say on the estate, and I get a small stipend.” Thus the ability to at least go and grab a few drinks every once in a while. They were only a couple of blocks away now, and Nico was beginning to feel more at ease. He let out a light chuckle and tilted his head towards Matteo a little, resting his head against the other vampires as he held him close to his side. “Sure, I have stories. They all pretty much end the same, though.” However, some instances were more bloody than others.

There were definitely things far worse in the clan than being a hit man. But Matteo was unphased by most of those things too. He knew what the Giovanni were after-all. The vampire just didn’t care too much about what the others did. Plus it was not his place to judge anyhow. He frowned. Something he didn’t do very often, at least not in company. “They don’t see how valuable you are to them.” He said rather matter of factly. A place to live and a stipend were great, sure, better than nothing. But the faint change in the tone of Nico’s voice. He may have been born with a silver spoon in his mouth but he knew value when he saw it. But this topic was a bit aggravating to Nico so the blond merely waved a hand in front of his face. Dismissing the topic entirely. Brown eyes blinked as he felt the weight of Nico’s head against his. What had looked to him at first glance at perhaps this just being a one night stand suddenly felt like it could be entirely thrown out the door. And perhaps he wouldn’t mind that. This had certainly been the longest conversation with a man before hand that he had had in a long time and he was enjoying it to say the least. “Ah but it’s never about the ending when it comes to stories. It’s the in between that makes it good.” He grinned. Reaching up to brush more dark hair out of Nico’s face.

"It's not quite that." Nico smiled though, because it was nice to hear from someone, even if that someone was practically a stranger, that he had value. "It's more like...I won't do what they want, so I'm being punished for it." Manipulated would have been the correct word, if it was actually working. Nico could give a s**t about what was wanted of him, however, so he was not about to give in. Besides, they could find somebody else. It was weirdly easy to tell Matteo these things, given that they hardly even knew each other. Nico couldn't say that he'd ever felt more comfortable around someone so quickly, even after a bit of a shaky start. There was something about him that seemed to draw at Nico, pulling him out of his typical cold and calculating shell. He didn't really know what that meant though. He was still in the mindset that this was going to be nothing more than a bit of fun, even if he wished it could be more than that. Matteo just didn't seem like the type that was looking for more. As they came to the end of the block they were on, by now on the very edge of the city, Nico turned them around a corner. Talk of stories aside (what Matteo said puzzled him, as he wondered if there were some hidden meaning there), the vampire lifted his free hand to point. "And there it is, the family estate." It was about what one might expect in this family. Gated, a fairly nice courtyard, a large, sicilian style mansion, a bit of land.... ....A group of idiots on the front lawn hurling insults at each other while two vampires threw fists back and forth, all of which Nico could hear quite clearly despite them still being over half a block and a long driveway away. Yep. This was home.

Now he was curious. Being a hit man and all that, what was it his family was asking him to do that he refused? But he didn’t feel it as his place to pry. Besides, Nico probably wouldn’t tell him anyway. It seemed deeply personal. Even still he felt for the dark haired vampire. Families were rough. His attention soon drawn to where Nico had pointed. Had they reached the edge of the city already? His sense of direction was the worst. He had pretty much expected what was there. The mansion, the bit of land that surrounded it. Brown eyes swept over what he could see at this distance. The structure of the mansion, the cared for courtyard and that long drive way. But he heard the commotion first before he saw it and he raised a curious eyebrow at Nico as he glanced up at him. “Sounds like a little bit of excitement is already going on at your place.” Matteo grinned. What was unfolding before his eyes was puzzling but no less entertaining to watch. Watching two seemingly grown men exchange blows while the others stood around egging them on with insults hurled at one another and shaking fists. No, this was certainly different. Maybe a bit refreshing. What exactly where they coming to blows over? If it were any other time he might have stopped to just watch to see how it played out. But this wasn’t the time for that. As much as the draw of watching the fight might have been that was not what he was here for. So if Nico just wanted to skirt past whatever it was that was going on, though that seemed like something he would be hard pressed to do since they were in the front yard, Matteo wouldn’t blame him.

The voices grew louder the closer they approached. The gates before the long driveway were already open, and Nico steered them in that direction. "There's rarely a dull moment around here." the vampire replied, sounding more resigned than anything. It was precisely what he expected, outside or inside the expansive home. Puttanesca was well known for its nasty tempers, and fighting was commonplace within the family or with other families. If he wasn't careful, he might get sucked into this one, and he was sure it was over something ridiculous. There were other things he'd much rather be doing. The most important was currently tucked in at his side with an arm wrapped around him. Voices rose loud enough for them to snatch a few words here and there, Sicilian accents thick. ""
Nico couldn't help it. He made a disgusted sound in the back of his throat and rolled his eyes skywards, muttering something under his breath, almost like a mock prayer for God/Grendel to give him strength as they drew nearer and nearer to the excitement.
A few in the crowd of jeerers spotted them, and he heard several begin to call his name, attempting to get him to come over to...he had no idea what. Help settle the matter, perhaps? Though there didn't seem to be much to settle.
"Let's just ignore them," Nico said to the man next to him, ushering him faster toward the main entrance. "They'll either fight it out or remember that they are cousins and pretend it never happened."

Matteo almost couldn’t look away from the scene unfolding in front of him. Sure there were disputes and the like among his own family. What family didn’t fight? But those were usually over business and settled either behind closed doors or with a swift, sharp look from Gigi. The older vampire abhorred fighting so she kept a tight leash on everything. It was bad for business. Infighting was not tolerated at all. At least bot publicly. Had she known that Matteo was here with the Puttanesca she might of had a conniption fit. “I’m not here for them anyways.” He gave a little wave to the group of vampires with a cheerful smile. Brown eyes sweeping over them briefly before he was whisked quickly towards the main entrance. He was glad at least that they would be reaching their destination soon. After that kiss they had shared on the street he was eager to see where the rest of this night would lead.

They were fortunate. The few that had turned their attention away from the fight and had spotted Nico did not pursue them, though they did call out a few lewd jeers when they noticed Matteo on his arm. Nico gave them a rude gesture in return, and while one or two glared and told him to '******** off, then,' the few others laughed and turned their attention back to the action. He just barely caught the tail end of Matteo waving at the crowd when he turned his attention back to the other vampire. Well, that explained a few of the jeers, particularly the ones that had called out to Matteo to drop Nico and join them instead. "Good." He said, with a soft smile, "Wouldn't want to lose you just as we finally get to my doorstep." Well, not quite, they still had to make their way through the mansion and to where Nico stayed. He let himself inside, only to nearly run straight into another vampire who was on his way out. Nico sidestepped quickly, sweeping his gaze over the other, his expression going passive once more. "Off to join in the fun, Thomas?" He asked, and the tall, lean, dark haired vampire shook his head. "Got a quick job to do for your father before sunrise. He's been looking for you, by the way. Expected you back ages ago." "Well, he can keep waiting. I'm busy tonight." Nico's eyes were cold as he turned away. "Sorry about that. It's always a bit...hectic around here." Which was why Nico so often stayed out even once he'd done his job. It was either that, lock himself in his room, or get drawn into some stupid s**t he didn't want any part in. At least when he went out to the club, he had something nice to look at. After that they managed to make their way through the large building without running into anyone else. Not too surprising, given that it seemed like half the household was outside. Eventually, they came to a door, and Nico had to fish his free hand into his jacket for a key, unlocking the door before they could step inside. It was more like an apartment or a suite then a room. Large, spread out, and seemingly befitting of somebody with a higher rank then just a hit man who wasn't paid very well. Nico let his arm slip out from around Matteo and turned to close the door behind them, sliding the lock back into place.

Matteo minded the jeers and calls very little. He was used to that kind of thing in all honesty. One didn’t walk around as good looking as he was without a few catcalls here and there. He had figured that most of who lived here were probably outside already if the group was an indication but when they almost ran into another coming out the door he blinked. Just how many lived here? It was a large place after all but did they pack in like sardines? The blond merely smiled at Thomas. Giving the tall, dark haired man an appreciative glance. And before he knew it the exchange was over and he was being swept down the hall. “It’s very lively that is for sure.” Matteo was fine with lively. Matteo was unsure what to expect when they finally reached their destination. One might gather that Nico lived in a tiny room with maybe a bed and a chair but what he stepped into was anything but. Brown eyes swept about as he took it all in. When Nico had let go he took a few steps further in before shrugging off his coat and set it down. The necklaces he wore clinking together against his chest with the movement. Matteo turned to face Nico as he closed and locked the door. A hand coming to rest on his hip. “Now then. Where were we?” Before Nico could even step away from the door Matteo was there pressing him back against it. Slender fingers wrapping about his tie to pull him in closer. “Oh right. Just about here I think.” Leaning up he kissed the dark haired vampire hungrily. Slipping his tongue past his lips to play against his own as his free hand snaked up his neck to the base of his skull. Now that they were alone they could continue what was started earlier.
