Matteo laughed at his tease, waving a hand in front of his face. He wasn’t there to harshly criticize and knew that Nico put effort into what he was wearing. But if they were going out dancing he didn’t want him lurking in a dark corner and the black suit would make it too easy for him to do that. The blond was out to have fun. Quirking an eyebrow when Nico said that out there was fine. Which was fine with Matteo, if he wanted to show off the Della Passaglia would enjoy the show. His gaze locking on Nico’s form as he began to strip down. Matteo made a small, appreciative sound as he resisted the urge to bite his fist or even go the Nico and throw him down on the bed and ravishing him. No, that could come later. Standing from his seat he walked up to the other vampire and gave him a thorough look over. Making small noises as he looked him up and down and nodding his headS “You look hot as ********.” It was a simple statement but it conceived exactly what he thought. “I suppose we’re ready to go then.” Matteo grabbed a black jacket off the back of a nearby chair and slipped it on, moving towards the door to wait for Nico to join him. But while he stood there there came a light knock on the door. Matteo blinked and opened the door only to find the young girl with the two toned hair standing there. “Oh hi Gigi I was just about to leave and go out.” The voice on the other side of the door was barely a whisper. Matteo glanced back at Nico and smiled warmly/ “Give me just a minute, darling and I’ll be right with you.” Stepping through the door he closed it behind him. Angry muffled voices were the only thing that could be heard also ‘a ******** Puttanesca’ was angrily muttered rather loudly. Along with ‘You really stepped in it this time’ and ‘You are going to send me to an early grave’. It felt like hours had gone by for Matteo. Gigi could suck the air out of a room rather quickly. He re-entered the room and closed the door, pressing his back against it. It was a minute or two before he registered that Nico was there and he blinked rapidly a few times. A warm smile coming to his lips as he crossed the room and slid his arm around Nico’s waist. “Ready?” Matteo was. He was so ready to get out of that mansion he might actually run.

Nico may have purposefully taken his time while he was changing, and it was possible that he had flexed certain muscles that did not require flexing as he reached for the shirt on the bed and pulled it on. He was aware that Matteo was enjoying the show, and that sparked a deep sense of satisfaction in the Puttanesca, who had never really had anybody to impress before, or at least had never cared about it. He smiled as Matteo looked him over, and laughed at his final appraisal, lifting a hand to run fingers through his dark hair. "Well then, I guess we match." He grinned and gave a nod of his head. He was very ready to go and spend an evening with the blonde, even if it meant doing something he'd never been particularly fond of. But before they could actually leave, they were interrupted. Nico had just grabbed his own jacket off of the bed when the knock came, and he glanced over toward Matteo as he went to the door, catching a glimpse of the person on the other side when he opened it. Ah, so that was Gigi. Nico had a feeling it might have been her when she had looked at him from the top of the stairway. He had remembered what Matteo said about her looking quite young. When the blonde looked back at him, Nico only nodded, and then glanced away, slipping into his jacket and trying to ignore some of the words that were loud enough for him to hear. Nico was filled with an odd sensation from it all. Sure, he found his own family to be insufferable at times. Doltish, with a tendency to hold onto grudges forever and nasty tempers that often got them into trouble. But they were still family, and annoyance flared. When Matteo came back in, Nico didn't say anything at all. He was trying to smooth down the disgruntled feelings within himself. Eventually, though, the blonde crossed the room toward him, and Nico lifted his piercing blue gaze to meet the other vampire's eyes. "Yes." He said, the sentence short, though he knew it wasn't Matteo's fault. He let out a long breath to calm himself. "You know, if you want me to take care of her, you just have to say the word." He smiled, trying to put it off as a joke. It was only a half-joke at best.

“Sorry. She uh… has a very old world way of looking at things. It’s annoying but that’s Gigi. Old and annoying.” He knew what she was up to and this little campaign to drive Nico away wasn’t going to work. Matteo liked him too much to allow his Grandmother to ruin in because of her prejudices towards the other families. “It’s not just the Puttanesca.” As of that made it any better. Matteo could pick up on the change in Nico’s mood and he frowned quickly before he leaned up to kiss him on the corner of his mouth before he pulled back to put on his jacket. “Come on let’s get out of her.” The blond held out his hand for Nico to take. A look of alarm sparked in his brown eyes and Matteo raised his free hand, waving it. “Oh ******** no. If Gigi goes I have to take over. And I really don’t want that responsibility. It sounds boring as hell.” That was one of Matteo’s biggest fears, something would happen to Gigi and he, as heir, would be thrust into a world he was unprepared for. Although Gigi would say it was his own fault oldie for not paying attention. Leading Nico down the hall, the stairs and out through the front door quickly he stopped on the front steps and looked up at the night sky. Just admiring it. “Tonight is going to be a good night I can tell.” He grinned, his fangs poking out from beneath his lip. Matteo gave his hair another comb through his his claws. Looping his arm with Nico’s so they could walk close to each other. “Is there a particular dance place you would like to go?”

"Ah, so her discriminate elitism is doled out evenly among the masses. How kind of her." He fought not to roll his eyes, hard, instead opting to swallow down his flare of anger and wrinkle up his nose in a teasing smile. Whatever annoyance he might have still felt was chased away by the kiss on the corner of his mouth, and he gave a slight nod of his head. He was ready to go whenever Matteo was, so when the other vampire offered his hand, he slipped his fingers between his and gave them a soft squeeze. He was fine. Ready to get out of this house, but fine. Nico barked a laugh then at Matteo's quick protest. Matteo was the heir? Had they talked about this before? The darker-haired vampire honestly could not remember. At their last encounter, he'd had quite a bit of other things on his mind. In any case, it gave them just one more thing in common. An inheritance that neither of them wanted. "Well, then I guess she'll live to wallow in disdain for the other families another night." He leaned in to press a kiss against Matteo's temple before they left the room, another attempt to show that he wasn't upset anymore. At a quick pace, they soon found themselves outside, where the heavy air of tension seemed to ease away. He glanced up at the stars himself and smiled. But then that smile faltered a little. "Hm, I should probably admit I've never actually gone dancing before. I mean...I can dance. I'm happy to go dancing," sort of... "But I've never gone out dancing." Ya ya, the idea had just sort of come to him at the moment, but now he was starting to realize just how out of depth he was. "So if you want to make a suggestion? We can go wherever you'd like."

“Yes, Gigi is an equal opportunity hate monger.” He sighed. “It’s embarrassing to say the least.” Matteo couldn’t understand the general disdain that his grandmother had for the other families. Sure theirs was one of the wealthiest but that didn’t mean you had the right to act that way to the others. The blond felt a bit more at ease once Nico smiled again. He paused at the laughter though. “One can only hope. There’s really only one way out of it but I’d rather not.” Matteo shrugged slender shoulders as his smile grew from the kiss to him temple. Good he was feeling better, at least the experience with Gigi wouldn’t spur their night. At Nico’s confession he grinned. “That’s fine I know several places we can go and they aren’t that far away either. Maybe there’ll be a new pop up tonight.” He squeeEs Nico’s hand and started to give him down the pathway and past the gate. Quickly turning left down the sidewalk. “So you can dance, but what kind of dancer are you? Slow, fast, classical, club?” Brown eyes peered at him curiously from beneath thick eyelashes as they walked. Matteo still had to admit he knew a bit about Nico but he didn’t know the whole story. Matteo could do whatever dancing Nico felt comfortable doing. That was one of the few things he had taken away growing up with the rigorous classes and studying he was made to do. Although he kind of resented Coco for not having to go through the same things he did, but she wasn’t heir and never would be.

There was a tension in his shoulders and chest he didn't even know he'd had until Matteo grinned at him and said he knew of several places they could go. Good. Relief flooded him, and he could feel himself begin to relax. Well, until Matteo's next question. Nico recalled the few times he had been required to dance, usually at weddings, and the last time that had been. And then he thought back to when he was younger and how someone (he had no idea who) believed that the heir of Puttanesca should at least have some amount of training, which included ballroom dance lessons. The lessons had been brief, from what he recalled. There had been some difference of opinion on what was deemed necessary for him to know and what wasn't. He let out a slightly nervous laugh. "Honestly? It's been a while, but I can probably manage whatever you want. I'm a pretty quick study." He flashed the other vampire a grin, hopefully a convincing one, icy blue eyes catching Matteo's warm yet curious gaze. By all the deities, the man was stunning. Nico felt like he would have agreed to anything he asked for.

Matteo continued guiding him down the street. Crossing a few times and wandering down back alleys until the thrumming sound of music could be gelt reverberating through the air around them. When they stepped out from another alleyway there was a hug crowd of people standing in front of a building in a nice, neat little line. Large lights beamed up into the sky to announce that the club was open for business. But instead of heading towards the back of the line Matteo went straight for the door. “My cousin owns this club.” He stated. The Della Passaglia had fingers in a lot of pies. Not only did they control the trade for the clan but they had several businesses that kept them rather flush in the long run. As they approached the door the bouncer cause sight of them and he stepped aside unhooking the celvet rope that blocked off the door. “Evening Matteo.” He rumbled, the bouncer being rather large Brujah his cousin kept several of them in staff. How he has convinced them? Well, money talks and vampires are no different. “Evening Alex is the boss in?” “No he’s off on business.” “Mmm shame.” The blond replies. “We’ll if you would excuse us.” He lead Nico past the ropes and into the club. When they had reached the entrance there was a place to check their coats. Matteo slipped off his and handed it to the lady behind the counter who gave him a ticket which he slipped into his pocket. The music was louder in here and it was only going to get louder the further into the club they went.

They walked mostly in silence, but that was okay with Nico. He wasn't much of a talker anyway. In fact, he probably gave more away to Matteo than anybody else in recent memory. For now, he could enjoy the evening air and the company by his side, the gorgeous blonde on his arm that led him along streets and alleys. Sometimes Nico would glance at him and smile, unable to help himself or the warm feeling that had settled in his chest. Being with him on a spur-of-the-moment date still felt surreal, and he couldn't quite believe it. He hadn't expected such a thing from their initial encounter, a little fun that seemed to be turning into more. Or at least, he was hoping it was turning into more. He was trying not to get his hopes up too high just yet. Eventually, they approached a building where the beat of music reverberated through the air, with a rather large crowd standing outside. For a moment, Nico wondered how they were supposed to get in when so many others were waiting, but of course, he should have known better than that. Matteo led him toward the door with confidence, with an explanation given. For now, Nico kept his silence, only offering a smile and a nod of his head to the bouncer before they were let inside. His gaze wandered as he slipped off his jacket and handed it to the coat check. Instincts always had him making studying unfamiliar territory. He needed to know every way to get in and out, where to hide, and what areas or objects could be used to his advantage if things went sideways. Even though this was a fun, innocent night out that had nothing to do with work, he couldn't help himself. He had always been a very observant sort. He slipped an arm around Matteo's waist as they moved further in. If he was nervous about any of this, it did not show, though he was also trying not to think too hard about it. Dancing was dancing. His only real fear was if someone from house Puttanesca saw him and ribbed him for it later, but this place seemed far too upscale for the likes of them.

Nico’s arm about his waist made him smile. His own arm snaking around the dark haired vampire’s waist. Looping a finger through his belt loop. As they hit the main floor of the club the music grew only louder, the beat of the music would reverberate in your chest. Lights flashed in complicated patterns and sequences. People were dancing just about everywhere. Some mortals some vampires. There was a generous mix of each. Matteo turned his head and leaned up so Nico could hear him over the music. “Let’s find a place to sit and get a few drinks first, ok?” He would lead them up a flight of stairs to a booth that overlooked the dance floor where groups of people were dancing about. Matteo unwrapped his arm from about Nico’s waist and slid into the booth. When Nico joined him he would lean over and kiss him on the cheek “Get whatever you’d like.” A waitress would come quickly to take their order. Matteo smiled at her and she smiled back in recognition. “Butterscotch Schnapps for me and keep them coming.” He was glad once the waitress was gone so he could focus all his attention on Nico. He had seemed distracted for the briefest of moments. His hand slipping to the side of Nico’s face before he leaned in to lock lips with him. Just a little reminder of what was right there in front of him and not in his head.

The dark-haired vampire didn't think he'd ever been in such a place outside of business reasons before. It was strange, in a way, to be out on a date, to force himself to see it as a chance to relax and have fun. In his line between work and duty, nights off were rare, and opportunities to enjoy the nightlife were rarer still. The nightcaps at Lux had become his only real connection to an environment outside his family. Usually, he'd be back at the Puttanesca estate on a night like this, in his room, playing poker with his cousins, ribbing each other, swapping stories of exploits that were always exaggerated. But tonight, he was here, and a little thrill of nervous excitement arced through him as he took it all in. Having Matteo tucked in beside him was a comfort, and he tilted his head down toward him when he spoke before nodding and letting himself be pulled along to an area above. He slid into the booth after him, already missing the feel of the other vampire's arm around him, but the kiss on the cheek brought a smile to his lips. "Besides you?" He teased, his hand moving to slide along Matteo's thigh, coming to rest on his knee, though his gaze flicked away briefly toward the waitress when she hurried up to their table. "Just scotch on the rocks, please." He said, his attention back on the blonde before he'd even finished speaking. Something about him was so captivating that once the other vampire had Nico's attention, he could have held it for ages. The feel of that hand against his face sent a shiver down his spine. He was already leaning in for a kiss before Matteo closed the distance, and he tried to allow that softness and warmth chase away doubt.

Matteo was used to this kind of lifestyle. Going out every night to the clubs, maybe finding someone he could be a bit of arm candy for, going back to their place. He felt more comfortable here than he did in his own home. Of course, it didn’t help that his grandmother was who she was. Either way the nightlife was where it was all at. Home just didn’t appeal to him right now. Besides, he was out being arm candy for Nico tonight so any responsibilities he might have had were easily forgotten. Nico’s hand on his thigh fanned the flames that burned in his stomach. Matteo wanted him to touch him more, maybe with less clothes in the way. But the night was still young and there could be plenty of time for that later if he could restrain himself. Matteo didn’t know what it was about Nico but he had this way and pulling his full attention to him. Sure he was hot, that was ultimately a plus, but it felt like more than that. There was something deeper he could feel it and he wanted to know more. His tongue slipped past Nico’s lips searching for his tongue to run against it, slender fingers twining into the other’s dark hair. God he loved this, just the two of them together. The rest of the world falling away. Reluctantly breaking the kiss his hand coming to rest on Nico’s chest as he bit his own bottom lip with a smirk. “Oh but you see you already have me.” Matteo grinned with a slight tilt of his head. Moving closer so that he was pressed up against Nico’s side. Their drinks finally arriving he ignored his for the moment. “I’m really glad you came out tonight with me, Nico. Stick around and I might show you just how glad of it I really am.” His brown eyes were warm but full of desire. The hand on Nico’s chest moving down to the dark haired vampire’s one thigh but instead of trailing down to his knee, Matteo’s hand trailed up to the crook of his hip.

In one moment, there was sound, music that pulsated through the air with a beat that shook the floor. He could hear clinking glasses, distant chatter, and all other noises that would accompany a busy nightclub. But in the next moment, that was all gone. It all eased away as he relaxed against Matteo’s lips, tongue gliding against the others, caressing, and his hand giving the other vampire's knee a gentle squeeze as he leaned towards him. He could feel a warmth creeping up the back of his neck when Matteo twined fingers through his hair, and a pleasant yet intense heat that threatened to burn through his entire body. If they hadn't been in the middle of a very public place, he probably would not have allowed Matteo to pull away so easily. Even as he did, the darker-haired vampire sighed, and gave the blonde a wistful look, meaning to convey how very little he wanted to stop. He was drawn to him, felt a need to be closer, to feel every part of him. Perhaps they’d been foolish to even leave Matteo’s bedroom. Ah but wait. If they had stayed in, he felt like there would have been a good chance their night would have been interrupted. This was better, ultimately. Here they could just have fun and not think about family. Here they could continue to get to know one another. Here Nico could explore the funny feeling he got every time Matteo looked at him. “Lucky me.” His voice was low, murmured privately into the blondes ear as he pressed in closer to Nico’s side. But he couldn’t help but wonder, how long? What was this to Matteo? Nico was hoping to figure that out, but he also didn’t want to seem pushy, or desperate. The last thing he would want to do is drive the other vampire away. The drinks arrived and Nico immediately reached toward one with his free hand, feeling a need to distract himself from thought. Before he could lift it, however, Matteo spoke, and Nico glanced back at the blonde and smiled. The drink was abandoned. He instead turned himself more fully toward The other vampire and lifted a hand to his face, cupping his cheek, staring deep into those eyes that he could feel himself falling into, his own blue gaze intense as he said what he wanted to say. “I’m not planning on going anywhere, not until you’re sick of me,” The smile shifted, small, almost shy, “And maybe even then I’ll try to convince you otherwise.” He didn’t need the promise of Matteo’s gratitude at the end of the night or all that it entailed. Nico genuinely just wanted to be near him, as much as he could, for as long as he could. With the movement of the blonde's hand, desire flared through him again and he leaned forward to kiss Matteo once more, feeling as though the breath would have been stolen from him in that moment were he not immortal.

It was hard not to admit that Matteo was enjoying every minute that he spent with Nico. He enjoyed talking with him, being close to him, kissing him. All their teasing and flirting. Even if at times Nico seemed a bit shy and uncertain at times, that was endearing to the blond. Matteo was not a shy person at all however. Even in this public place he couldn’t hold back when it came to showing Nico just how he made him feel. And if he wasn’t careful their evening out might end up cut short due to this building fire between the two of them. Most certainly if they had stayed there would have been interruptions. Gigi had already made it very apparent to Matteo that she was unhappy he was hanging around Nico. She would probably think it was just another fling and Matteo would move on to the next but this time felt different. But the blond didn’t want to think about that right now. His thoughts were all focused on Nico. All these kisses were just driving him wild, to the point he didn’t care they were in a public place. It was blocked off enough. He leaned his cheek into the hand cupping his cheek, a smile on his lips as he enjoyed the touch of Nico's hand some more. What Nico said next though surprised him and his brown eyes locked with his own blue. The intensity in them sent a shiver up his spine. The other vampire was serious, Matteo could tell. They had only really been together for a short time and he didn’t even know if they were exclusive or not. But with what Nico said…. Matteo took a second to grab one of his shots and down it before settling the shot glass back on the table. As he turned back to the dark haired vampire he fiddled with the other’s shirt collar for a moment. “So what are you trying to tell me then, Nico?” He knew. Matteo knew exactly what the answer was. He gave the other a warm, cheeky smile like he knew a secret he wasn’t about to tell. Not yet. “Because I don’t think I’d ever get sick of you.” As he leaned in to kiss him Matteo met those lips once again. The lingering taste of butterscotch on his lips. A purposeful drink choice of course.

Nico had always been a quiet, reserved, and thoughtful sort. Cold. That’s how most people outside his close family would have described him. He didn’t come to open up to anyone easily and had never really planned on letting anybody in not just because he didn’t want to, though that had been a small part of it. More because he just couldn't see it. He couldn’t have fathomed ever finding someone he felt drawn to. There had been lovers, sure, but it had always been brief and nothing special. Simply a way to pass the time between jobs or to relieve an itch. But Matteo was different. Nico knew that from the very first moment. The first time he had seen him. And it wasn’t just his looks, though he was very attractive. There was a certain spark there. A certain joy. Something carefree but not in an entirely careless way. He knew what he was about and what he wanted, and he did not seem afraid. At least, that was what Nico could see on the surface. He wanted to see more. Craved more. And when he spoke to Matteo, he tried to lay it all out there, but there was still that part of him that was sure he would scare the other man away. So maybe he had held back a little, just in case. His mouth went suddenly dry when Matteo spoke. The blonde knew. He could tell he did. However, the tightness in Nico’s chest and his sudden nerves nearly constricted his voice completely when he spoke his reply. “I just don’t want this to be a casual thing between us. I want to see where it goes.” He could admit that much, for now. Whether or not Matteo did get sick of him would remain to be seen, but for now, he just wanted a chance at something. The dark-haired vampire couldn’t help the hint of a smile on his lips when he tasted the butterscotch liquor that sweetened their kiss. It was so fitting a flavour that he nearly laughed while a particular warmth seared through him again.

Matteo was used to it by now. People seeking exclusivity with him but none had really caught his attention to really go that far. Everything had just been a fling in the past, nothing he took seriously though that left a lot of broken hearts in his wake. The blond vampire never thought he would come across anyone who he would even consider it with. At least until Nico walked into his life. He knew there was something special with him, it went past the physical and ticked all his boxes. Hard criteria to accomplish that was for sure. If Matteo was going to date someone exclusive they had to be really special. And somehow in this short amount of time the other vampire had endeared himself to the blond. After that first night together he had a hard time getting him out of his head. Nico lived there rent free. “You don’t want casual, hmm.” He pondered this for just a little bit longer. Drawing it out as if he hadn’t already made up his mind. He knew if Nico had asked he would agree. Part of him didn’t want it to be casual either. ******** what Gigi thought. Both hands came up now to cup the other’s face as he pulled him into another kiss. It was soft and light, their lips barely brushing against one another’s before he leaned back with a certain warmth in those brown eyes. “Oh k then. Non-casual it is.” He wanted to see where this went too. Maybe Nico would be the one to last the longest, only time would tell. Buy Matteo was glad it was all out on the table now. They both knew what each other wanted to an extent and over time they’d learn more. But for now he was just here to be with Nico. Even if they didn’t leave the booth to do any dancing that wouldn’t both him any. Any time with Nico was not wasted time. Matteo could just sit there pressed up against him all night if that’s what he wanted.
