"Don't worry, carino--I'll keep your secret safe with me." No one had to know how sweet he could be, and often was, with her; and how adorable she could find him. And that was the truth of it. She was very good at keeping secrets, after all. That said, Vespara could call him any number of things, but at the exact moment he was absolutely perfetto. He was such a mix, and she delighted in each one -- sexy, adorable, fierce, kind, a gentleman, a clubber... Yes, Vespara liked him very much, and she wasn't shy about showing it.
Arms still linked, Vespara kept her head held high as she navigated around the crowd, and made her way over to where Vinny and Claudius stood. "Padre, Papa -- I want to introduce you to someone," she smiled eagerly up at her fathers, hoping that maybe, just maybe, they would be kind for her sake, if nothing else. She'd never introduced them to a boy before, so this was, perhaps, a new encounter. "This is Regulus, il mio ragazzo. Regulus, these are my parents, Claudius and Vincenzo Giovanni."
She was trying very hard to look confident but her eyes were only on Claudius. Would he reject him? Maybe this wasn't the best plan, but it was too late to go back on it now. If Regulus wasn't important, she never would have invited him, or arranged for this introduction...but she couldn't deny that he was.
- - - - -
Eloisa gave a little grin, the tips of her fangs peeking out from behind her crimson lips. "I'll simply plan for a night of it then," she affirmed flirtatiously. She might have been known as a talker, and rest assured, Eloisa could talk about anything, with anyone. But she she could also be a very good listener, and listening to Romeo read to her sounded...well....romantic. She could already imagine it, and oh, how pleasant it all seemed.
The Giovanni indoor garden was certainly a lovely spot. The trickling of the pond water, the beautiful living plants, and the arrangement of it all really was divine. She'd always enjoyed admiring the garden, but it was even better with such charming company. Eloisa hardly took note of the other in the room -- and why should she? No, for now, her attention was only on Signore Machiavelli and very little would distract her from him. The privacy of the gardens was a nice change, though she knew that the more family who arrived, the more crowded it would become. "This is a lovely place, don't you think? I heard it's where Claudius proposed to Vinny, but some say it was the other way around. Admittedly, I would be a bit anxious to be here during the daylight hours... I'm not sure I trust that glass." She mused, peeking up at the roof. She meant no offense to the main estate, but sunlight was a terrible, terrible thing to face.
When he took her to the bench, she settled in happily beside him. "A bit of an upgrade from where we first met, si?" She mused, admiring the foliage around them. Eloisa didn't expect him to kiss her hand a second time, and if her heart could race it would have. He really was like some legend, right out of the pages of a story. Was this too good to be true? Well. Far be it for Eloisa to question. She wasn't a cynic, and they were just two people enjoying one another's company. She wouldn't ruin whatever this was.... she'd just enjoy it, as long as he offered. "Ah, bello," she gave a small laugh, and if she'd had the ability to blush, she would have done so. "I think you might be the very first to confess to such a thing," she gave a rueful grin. "I thought perhaps I'd run you off with all my chatter, or my style, or my nails - but you've been so good. I'm afraid, despite all the time we've spent together lately, you always leave me eager to see you again."
Well, no sense beating around the bush. She was too forward for that... though she was trying to be delicate. Maybe he treated all the girls he met like this? Only time would tell...but at least for now, she'd let herself feel special.
Cheri Claudius, time to meet the boyfriend.

When Claudius's adorable daughter brought that boy over to greet her parents, he raised an eyebrow. "Your ragazzo, bambina?" the antediluvian asked, looking over the newcomer with a critical eye. "Il piacere è mio," he said, with an accent that was antique and closer to Latin than any dialect of Italian. But then, he had learned that language first. It was evident that Vespara quite liked this boy, which made him frown all the more. He wasn't ready for his little girl to be so grown up already - not much more than one hundred years and she was already practically settling down.
His hand on Vinny's arm tightened, his grip no doubt a little uncomfortably tight. But Vincenzo's presence was comforting, at least. Ah... but Vespara seemed so happy to introduce this little thin blood to the famiglia. "Tell me, young Regulus... what is it that you do?" While it was taking a considerable effort, Claudius was trying to be, if not supportive, then not immediately dismissive of this romance. He certainly did not approve, but making Vespara happy was enough to stave off his wrath for a moment. Regulus was fortunate in that.

“Oh good I was just the tiniest bit worried for a second. But I’m pretty sure I can trust you with my secret.” A low chuckle rulbled deep in his chest as he gave a small shake of his head. He was being silly, she made him feel that way. It was rare he really joked with anyone but she brought it out i him. Before he knew it they were standing in front id two males that looked very much like Vespara in their own ways. Cyan colored eyes went from one to the other. He wasn’t sure which was which but the frown on the one’s face spoke volumes. Micro reactions in one’s face could tell a story. Regulus dipped his head. “Il piacere è tutto mio.” He had been practicing more Italian again so he could better understand what the words meant when Vespara alone them to him. The next question causes an eyebrow to lift ever so slightly. Why did he want to know what he did? That was kind of an odd question. To be honest he had never discussed with Vespara what it was he did. It had just never come up. “I’m a model for a few goth magazines. Gothic Beauty, World of Got, Diodati, plus a few others.” He spoke as if it was no big deal, which to him it really wasn’t. They were paychecks and he was a rather good looking guy so why not l? He glanced over at Vespara, well now she knew. How many more aecrets could she niggle out of him tonight? ————— “I look forward to it then. Hopefully you will be able to find the time sooner rather than later, signora Eloise.” Still holding her hand Hr placed his other hand over top of her’s, giving it a light squeeze. Meanwhile in his mind he was going over the books he might read her. Something romantic perhaps? Or a dating adventure? Poetry was always good. He found himself a little excited about the prospect. It had been a long time since he had seen this garden. Like all things it had changed quite a bit itself. Most plants did eventually die and need to be replaced so it was no surprise to him. He was used to it. “Oh really now? Well there’s a story right there I am sure.” He glanced around once more but ultimately his gaze returned to her. The moonlight that filtered in through the glass roof shone down upon her and made her look almost ethereal in nature. And he couldn’t help but stare. “Molto bella.” But he wasn’t looking at the garden when he said it. Her confession brought a smile to his lips. Romeo shook his head. “Nessun altro fiore in questo giardino è paragonabile a te” He kissed her hand once more. “All those things are what I like about you. You are different than what I am used to I will admit, but that is your charm.”

When Vespara reappeared with her arm entwined with a stranger, Vinny's stance changed ever so subtly. Where he had been standing relatively relaxed with Claudius, he stood a bit taller, and his brows knit while he looked over the new young man.
VIncenzo was a rather genial vampire, all things considered, but he knew his beloved would struggle with this change. He peeked at Vespara, trying to get a read on her - and it was clear she was eager for them to meet him. She certainly looked happy, but who was he? Vespara had told them about him, so it wasn't a complete shock, but the fact he was here now.... That was more of a surprise. She wouldn't invite just anyone to this affair, and it spoke volumes of just how she felt about him, whether she knew it or not.
The tightness of Claudius grip was equally telling, though he made no mention or sign of the painful grip.
"Nice to meet you, come va, Regulus," Vinny greeted. "Vinny Giovanni," he reached a hand out, deciding that cordiality would be best for now. Then again, honestly, Vinny wasn't particular threatening even on his worst day. However, he sure would need a smoke after all this. He was surprised to hear he was a model, but hey, at least he was bringing in some money. That was ... something, wasn't it? Did the family have any connection with those magazines? ... maybe that would be good to investigate, too.
Just in case.
"You don't happen to be vinsured, are you? With a face like that..." Leave it to Vinny to ask. He had to. It was engrained in the ancilla and, as the saying went, a, b, c - always be closing. Then again, if Regulus was interested in Vespara, he'd need to accept the family quirks
If Vespara needed to breath, she would have been standing with baited breath as her father's both looked over Regulus. If this didn't go well then who knew what might happen? Her family was terribly important to Vespara, and she wanted them to approve oof Regulus as much as she did. So what if there were things about one another they didn't know-- she certainly hadn't been entirely forthcoming about every aspect of her life. "Si, si, Papa--Sì, il mio ragazzo. Non è bello?" She gave a small, besotted sigh, stealing a little glance over at her companion. "È anche molto buono con me, papà. Mi tratta molto bene."
That said, Vespara did give Regulus a double take when he confirmed what he did for a living, eyes widening slightly in surprise. A model? On the one hand, she had known he was into fashion, and to her eye, he could easily walk the runway with his good looks. But the fact he actually was one, and a model for some of the magazines she owned did surprise her. Oh, she'd have to flip through some of her copies to see if he was in any of the volumes.
Still, her surprise turned into a delighted smile, and she bit her lip happily. Well that was a revelation. Honestly, Vespara had thought he was just a homebody but ... then again, jobs never really came up. Outside of claiming she was helping the family business and dabbling with insurance, the latter being a complete lie, they hadn't talked much about it.
When Vinny asked about insurance though... She laughed a bit, and crinkled her nose. "Papa--non ha bisogno del discorso sull'assicurazione," she pleaded good-naturedly. It was a common thing for her to remind her beloved father, after all... given he'd sell insurance to a corpse if he could. "I told you insurance is big in our family," she reminded Regulus with a fanged grin.
This...This wasn't going so bad. She was proud of her fathers, and the way she beamed up at them was proof of it.
- - - - - Eloisa couldn't be imagining his interest, could she? From teh way he held and kissed her hand, from the words that he spoke, the compliments. "Oh, you really are trying to put me to blush, aren't you, Signore?" She laughed, ducking her head, and hiding her face in her free hand for just a moment.
Hadn't she always dreamed of being noticed, of some stranger sweeping her off her feet, and choosing her out of all her sisters and the rest of the family? While she didn't know if he intended to sweep her off her feet, or even had an interest in her like she did him, she did feel a little out of her element. Did he really think she was pretty? And his words, pure poetry....
Looking back up at him, her blue eyes were bright. She appreciated his honesty because she was well aware she was different. Instead of just ignoring it, he at least seemed to appreciate it -- which truly was a first. "Sei troppo gentile, buon signore," she spoke. "Ma ti ringrazio. You're unlike anyone I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, Signore. Just be careful with all that charm. A private place, a beautiful garden... Tch, you might get more than you bargained for." Who knew? Maybe she'd slip him a flash of ankle...

If anything, the frown on Claudius's face deepened. Goth magazines? Truth be told, the Giovanni man knew very little about this, mainly due to a general lack of care in that direction. What he did know he knew from buying presents for his daughter. "Goth magazines. How impressive." His tone was perfectly bland, not conveying any personal feelings regarding the matter, for in general he had none. Except that it seemed good that the boy had hobbies, anyway. His grip did not loosen in the slightest, however. "My name is Claudius Giovanni, and the mansion you find yourself in belongs to our famiglia." The Giovanni, of course.
What a strange choice Vespara had made, bringing her ragazzo to a family gathering. Particularly one with such... weight. He might have laughed, had he not been in such a sour mood. His baby was growing up. How unfortunate. "My bambina tells me that you are very good to her," he offered, like a loathed and despised olive branch. For it did, indeed, rankle that he must needs make nice with this child. Ah, but Vespara was young yet. Perhaps she'd get this young man out of her system before too long. "Vespara, is this goth magazine how you met your... friend?" he inquired, slipping his hand down until he could thread it through Vinny's. Partially for comfort and partially to keep Vinny from going ham on the poor kid. Vinsurance-wise, anyway.

Regulus knew only a little Italian so when Vespara stared speaking it fluently he found himself getting lost in the words and unable to keep up. But that was fine. It would come to him in time. Besides he was doing it for her anyhow. Neither of her father’s, especially Claudius, hid their displeasure of him well. Although Vinny seemed more cordial than the other, offering his hand to Regulus. The young male reaching out his free hand as the other was currently occupied by his daughter and gave him a form shake. It was a brief exchange. A slightly puzzled look when the older male asked him if he was as ‘Vinsured’. “No I am not.” He figured it had to be something to do with insurance since Vespara had told him that much. Claudius may have said the word but his tone suggested anything less. To be fair he wasn’t particularly interested in their approval of his job. It brought in money and he looked damn good doing it. Vespara would probably be pleased to find him in several of her magazines, it was a wonder what hair and makeup could do so he wasn’t surprised she hadn’t recognized him. Normally he played it pretty low key with that information. The corner of his mouth curled ever so slightly as Claudius mentioned that the mansion they all stood in belonged to his family. “Impressive.” But he already knew all this information as Vespara had told him minutes ago. He knew this place was her home and that she seemed to think fondly of the mansion when she spoke of it, however, Regulus was rarely impressed by money, or status, or power. Others might. And while he did enjoy material things it wasn’t the end all he all of life or unlife. He got around just fine for a long time on bare minimum. His attention flickered to Vespara then back to Claudius and his statement about what Vespara had told them. Of course he treated her good, he highly doubted that Vespara would even give him the time of day if he treated her anything less. “Of course, as she should be.” What bullets would he dodge next he wondered. ————— He chuckled. It was all the truth though, Eloisa was charming and enchanting, a lovely woman to be sure. Even if her sisters paraded in front of him at this very moment his eyes would not leave her beautiful face. He felt ensorcelled by her, something he had never felt for another before. Here sat a siren that very well could have quite possibly captured his heart. “Eloisa….I would like to spend more time with you. Forget horses and libraries. Would you allow me the honor of taking you out one of these nights that you have free?” He hoped she would say yes, deep deep down inside he was a chittering bundle of nerves but he still oozed charm on the outside. What if she said no? How awkward would that be. No, he was confident she would say yes. Who wouldn’t? Romeo was from a favored family, handsome, well read, he had standards and breeding. Any Giovanni woman would fall head over heels, but Tomeo didn’t want just any Giovanni woman. He wanted Eloisa. The charm just came easy to him, he chuckled. “I am afraid I do not know how to turn it off, signora. Besides I do like a little trouble every now and again.” He lifted her hand once more, turning it so that he might place a small kiss on the inside of her wrist. Romeo could smell her perfume and it was intoxicating. He breathed it in before moving her hand away from his face but still holding it gently.

He shook Reggie's hand, giving him a softer, more sincere smile. Here the poor fellow stood, surrounded by Giovanni, meeting the parents... Did he understand how important this day was? He doubted it. Did he realize how important it was he'd been invited by Vespara to attend? .... also probably not, but maybe that was just as well.
Vincenzo gave a small chuckle at Regulus' reply, as well as Vespara's objection. "It never hurts to ask," he reminded them with a shrug and a good natured wink. And that was the truth of it. Vinny might have been a lot of things, but he wasn't ever afraid to bring up what he did best. "Maybe we'll talk later about it, eh?" Whether that was to Vespara or Regulus, he didn't specify --but it certainly wouldn't be the last Reggie would hear about it.
He held Claudius' hand, leaning a bit against the older vampire. The way Vespara seemed to beam up at them meant Vinny couldn't dislike the kid, no matter how he knew he should. "So how long the two've you been seeing one another?" He honestly wasn't sure. She'd only mentioned him recently, but that didn't mean this was a new thing. "You in for the long haul or...?"
... maybe he shouldn't have asked the last question, especially with the look Vespara just threw him, but he was curious to know. He'd never met a boyfriend before. Were they just having a little fun? Did they even know? He wasn't trying to pry but he honestly wasn't sure what all the were supposed to talk about. Wasn't one of them supposed to take Regulus off for "the talk"...? .... how did one go about that when he was still attached to his precious bambina?
Uh-oh.
Claudius less-than-enthusiastic response wasn't exactly what she'd hoped to hear, though she honestly didn't know what else she might have imagined. Maybe a little more interest? And poor Regulus' one word reply seemed equally bland. While she hadn't thought to impress him with her home, she had hoped he might enjoy seeing it.
Her grip on Regulus' arm tightened somewhat, and she tried hard not to let her smile falter. Nope, everything was fine, just fine. This was just a temporary moment in time and no one had been rude. But perhaps he excitement had clouded her judgment. Well... nothing to be done about it now. She could always whisk him away again, give him a tour of the place, to give them all space. She just needed to wait for the right moment.
"No, Papa-- We met at Cold Subject in town. He helped me with some accessories, and we got to talking... Haven't really stopped, since," she mused, peeking back up at Regulus with a fond little smile. "He's good company, and a good friend." They certainly liked similar things, and had a nice time when the were together. She could easily have imagined them being friends first...but she was also glad they skipped right ahead to something more.
Of course, everything came to a screeching halt with Vinny's query, and she did indeed give Vincenzo a very strong look. Did he... Did he just ask that!? Oh Grendel help them... if Regulus didn't flee for the hills it was only because she was holding onto his arm like an anchor.
- - - - -
Eloisa would have never imagined Romeo could be nervous about anything, and had no idea about the nerves that ran through him at this present moment. Instead, a broad smile slipped over her features, and she all but beamed at him with pleasure. He was... He was asking her out. It wasn't just some pleasantry, or some honorable thing to do, despite the formality of his request.
Oh, he was so sweet, so adorable, so... terribly romantic. How had she gotten to be so lucky... andwhen would the other shoe drop? Oh, she couldn't even think about that. Wouldn't even think about that.
"Ovviamente! I would like that very much, signore Machiavelli," she assured, unable to hide just how tickled pink she was at the request. This really was too good to be true. Her sisters would hardly believe it -- such a handsome man, of such breeding, wanting to take her out! And not just out of obligation, or because Eloisa had been forceful and forward. This was something he wanted to do. Oh, she could almost pinch herself, just to make sure this was real.
He really was like no one she had ever met.
The kiss of his wrist sent a small shiver up her spine as she gazed at him. "Mmmm," she purred softly, gazing up at him from beneath her long lashes. "But have you ever had the Puttanesca brand of trouble?" She asked coyly, blue eyes bright, a little rueful smile tugging at her lips. "We're known to be feisty... But I suppose life without it would be terribly dull." If Romeo wanted dull, he certainly wouldn't be spending time with her.
Yayoi" Vinny should never be allowed to interrogate anyone.

It was perhaps a surprise to no one that Claudius was watching Regulus's every action like a hawk. So it was hardly shocking when he gently, deftly, pulled Vinny back by the lightest of tugs. "Darling, we can discuss business later. For now, caro mio, let's let the children enjoy their time together." He could scarcely believe the words coming out of his own mouth, but... truly, he loved Vespara immensely, and the idea of wounding his daughter with his feelings regarding this or by scaring away the young man. Well, it frightened him in a way little could.
Perhaps fear was not the right term. But in any case. "Ahh, my bambina loves Cold Subject," he said. In point of fact, she loved it so much that he had actually bought one of the stores, in the hopes that she could find what she liked among the inventory. But that was neither here nor there. "Good. It's good that you're making friends. I expect you to treat her like gold," he told the boy, who seemed none too thrilled by their introduction. Claudius did not truly care what he thought, but that Vespara seemed uncomfortable... well, that he cared about.
"Caro, let the children play. We can ask him later." His tone was quite firm, leaving no room for argument. "Non spaventare il ragazzo, tesoro," he said reeling Vincenzo in a little further. It was too soon to be panicked about a young man who was tied to Vespara in only the loosest sense. If the kids decided to get serious that was a different matter.

He blinked at Vinny’s question, he and Vespara had shared much in the short time they had been together but the idea of something long term has never crossed his mind At least until now/ it was probably too soon to even gauge that and he would rather not rush into something. But then part of him wanted to do it. To make it just a little more serious than what it was His hand slipped over Vespara’s as she tightened her grip on it. He wasn’t trying to be disrespectful he just had no opinion about the house. Was he supposed to be wide eyed and amazed at the glitz and glam? The only thing he thought impressive was the woman by his side. He glanced down at her and gave a reassuring smile. But it seemed the interrogation was over. And he was glad he didn’t have to answer that last question. How would he even answer I’d he had been expected roo? He needed to figure this out and maybe soon. He waited until the two males had withdrawn before he spoke again. “That was…. Interesting.” He was thoughtful, stowing away the encounter to kill over later. It was brief and he was glad for that, Regulus just wanted to spend his time with her, ————— Her excitement was infectious and his chest tightened when her eyes lit up. Those beautiful icy blue eyes that felt like they could pierce his essence. Hold him and captivate him. He wanted her to only have eyes for him but he was getting ahead of himself. They were still relatively new to this so what were they now? Just eating he supposed which was good enough for him for the time being/ if it grew to more he would gladly welcome It. Romeo chuckled deep within his chest. Reaching up to run the side of his index finger along her jaw line, lifting her face so he could look into those gorgeous blue pools they threatened to drown him in them. “You’ve made me very happy.” Should he? It probably wasn’t necessary but he wanted to. He leaned in and placed a gentle kiss at the corner of her mouth, lingering there for only a moment before he pulled back with a smile. “Would you like to get something to drink?” He was feeling a little parched after the exchange

Vinny peeked at his husband, before looking back at the two kids before him, and he reached up to rub the back of his neck. He smiled innocently and gave a nod. "Well, that settles that then. You two enjoy yourselves. Was good to meet you, Regulus," he dipped his head cordially, before retreating with Claudius.
That wasn't so bad.. though he hadn't really had an opportunity to get to know much about the kid. He supposed they could interrogate him later, if he stuck around long enough. Oblivious to the fact he'd probably terrified the young one, he looked back up at Claudius and gave him a smile. "Well, I suppose there was bound to be one eventually," he noted. "How are you feeling about it?" He asked, squeezing Claudius' hand. They didn't necessarily have to discuss it now, but he wanted to make sure his mate was all right.
With Vespara and Regulus gone off again, Vincenzo decided it was time to socialize. This was a part, after all, and there were others to catch up with, others to talk to. First on his list would be his cousin, Davide, who was still all but making love to the wall and his drink. Guiding Claudius over to the blonde rascal, Vinny gave a small, friendly whistle to catch his attention, and a broad smile. "Davide! Il mio nipote preferito -- enjoying yourself over in this little corner?" He asked, peeking around at the spot his nephew had chosen.
"No Dante tonight?" He asked, peeking around before looking back at the other. Part of this night was all about socizliaing and shmoozing -- something Vinny was actually usually good at,.
Vespara was grateful when her parents took their leave, and though her smile hadn't wavered, it was now forced. She didn't dare look at Regulus, because for the firs time in a long time, she was rather humiliated. Her poor father couldn't have realized what he'd done... but oh! She hadn't been prepared to deal with this sort of fall out.
What was she supposed to say?
She'd been so worried about Claudius and currying his favor that she had completely forgotten how Vinny often put his foot in his mouth. She loved him, dearly, but she couldn't believe he'd asked such a thing.
Maybe this had been a bad idea. Maybe it was too much, too soon, and now she felt the fool. Reality came crashing down, and Vespara wasn't quite sure where to go from here. Well, to start, she wasn't just going to stand there, and hurriedly said, "Shall I show you around?" It wasn't really a query, and she didn't wait for a response, before she tugged him as far from her parents and the crowds as she could manage.
Vespara pulled him into the drawing room, not really sure what to show him, but as a way to get away from the milling crowds. There were few in the room, allowing them some privacy, and putting a little distance from the main event would help her compose herself. That still didn't help her figure out what to say to Regulus.
"That uh... Those were my parents," she stated, though her words were quiet, with little eagerness from before. She still couldn't quite look Regulus in the eye, and instead turned to focus on some painting on he wall. "You don't uh... you don't need to worry about what they said--or asked," she hastily reassured. She had no idea how Regulus felt, but she could only imagine the worst scenario to try to prepare for it.
- - - - - The touch along her jaw, followed by a gentle kiss...
This night could not get any better.
Her heart was a flutter, for all that it didn't beat, and she was fast succumbing to to the feelings that gripped her. It wasn't just because he was handsome, though that had been her first draw; it wasn't just because of his name or his good breeding, though his charms were elegant and sweet; honestly, she wanted those lips on her own because they were [ihis -- and she wanted to know everything about him.
What did he like? What did he dislike? What were his favorite books, his favorite songs? What was his life like, and what did he dream about?
For the first time in a long time, Eloisa didn't feel the need to talk or gossip. She wanted to learn about him, and keep everything buttoned up, like a secret meant only for her. Though she wanted to tell her sisters about him in a general sense, she also wanted to respect his privacy, and keep the details locked away. She would keep his kisses to herself, because they were far, far, too precious to so basely share. No, for once in her life, Eloisa had no desire to gossip... and that was just fine.
"Farò del mio meglio per tenerti così," she replied softly, just for him. If he was happy, she would stop at nothing to keep him so...as long as he'd let her.
At the mention of a drink, she realized that she was also parched. They had been talking all this time, and though her lips longed for a repeat performance, a drink would suit her well. "Si, bello signore... A drink sounds lovely." Rising with him, she took his arm, but this time, stepped just a little closer. Not enough to be dropped upon him, but a small, subtle change from earlier.
"Is there anyone here you particularly need to catch up with?" She asked as they walked, peeking at the various members of the family. She didn't want to continue to infringe on his time if he had business dealings, but she was more than happy to linger as long as he was free.

He could tell something was odd with Vespara. She was awfully quiet and had pulled him into the drawing room where they had a bit more privacy. In all honesty the question didn’t really bother him, it merely made him think. Where did he want this to go? Regulus frowned as she turned away from him. “Are you ok?” It was a dumb question to ask but it was all he could think of. He had survived the first meeting so there was promise for future ones if it turned out to be more long term. He drew closer to her, standing right behind her as he wrapped his arms around her from behind.”, holding her close. He didn’t know what he could do or say to make her feel any better so he just stood there and held her. Maybe….maybe he did want something more. Something a little more long term. He certainly didn’t hate the idea of that. She would be his and he would be hers and hers alone. But what was she thinking now? The male buried his nose in her hair, inhaling her scent. He couldn’t get enough of it/ ————— Romeo led Eloisa out of the garden and towards the bar for drinks. He noted how close she was walking next to him and he smiled, petting her hand on his arm affectionatly. “Whatever the Signora wants and rum for me.” As they waited he watched her. She was being from ear to ear. Her excitement was palpable. She must have been the happiest Giovanni to be there right now. He gave a slight shrug to her question. “I haven’t seen anyone that I might need to talk to yet, no. I am a very good multi tasker when it comes to business. Besides, o have to show off the bella signora Puttanesca that graces me with her beauty and favor.” He really did want to show her off. He t was always a big deal when a Machiavelli took an interest in someone. It was a family with standards. But he didn’t care about that. “Besides, I wouldn’t mind a little Puttanesca type trouble every now and again.” He gave her a teasing grin as he lifted his eyebrows.

Vespara wasn't sure what to say in response. Was she okay? She still felt a bit foolish, and her father had rather mortified her, but she was mostly concerned about Regulus. She had no idea what he thought about all of that. While Claudius had tried to turn things around, poor Vinny had sent the whole encounter haywire.
"I will be," she finally answered, feeling his arms wrap around her. At least he hadn't stormed right out the front gate... but then, as her guest, would that really be wise? Hopefully he wasn't just humoring her until he had time to chew on the conversation. But... there was nothing to be done about it.
The nuzzle of his head against her hair was nice, and she held onto the arms wrapped about her, cuddling back against him. She relaxed a bit more into his hold, comforted by the fact he was still there. "I suppose some of their questions caught me off guard. But at least we've clearance to enjoy the party," she noted. "How are you feeling? .... he didn't scare you off, did he?" She asked, peeking over her shoulder at him.
That was her biggest concern, embarrassment aside.
- - - - - Eloisa tore her eyes off her companion for but a moment to order. "One old fashioned, per favore," she flashed a smile at the bartender, before quickly turned her eyes back on Romeo.
"Ah, bello signore," she gave a warm laugh, shaking her head as he spoke of showing off her beauty and favor. "You certainly know how to make a lady feel appreciated." Of course, Eloisa absolutely, utterly agreed -- she knew her worth, and would have no trouble breaking the fingers of anyone who dared to say otherwise. She had no shame in who she was, and if Romeo was interested in her, than that was all that mattered. "I'll be the envy of party." And that was no lie.
When Romeo spoke about her brand of trouble, Eloisa gave a low laugh. "Oh, I'll be happy to provide," she agreed, giving him a small nudge with her shoulder. "Maybe when we're not in such polite company, I can show you some of that Puttanesca feist." Only if he was interested, of course. If he wanted trouble, he'd found the right girl.

She was obviously still upset about the whole exchange. While Vinny’s question even caught him off guard he didn’t let it bother him. What exactly should a parent talk about after first meeting their daughters interest. They’d want to know all the important things and while they didn’t even touch most of them Regulus figured with time there would be more opportunities for her father’s to ask him questions if they so wanted to. Regulus smiled at her question. “No bella, he has not scared me off so don’t you worry. The only way I would leave is if you told me to and I would try to convince you otherwise.” He ran his claws through her long silky hair. He turned her around so that she was facing him now, gathering her up in his arms. Placing a kiss against her temple as he just held her. The best he could do was just be supportive of her and her feelings. He didn’t like seeing her this way. Maybe he should have passes on the party and waited a bit longer to meee her parents. From the sound of it this was a very important r night and not being part of their clan he was an outsider intruding upon their special thing but he had come because she had asked him too and he didn’t want to disappoint her. ————— The bartender settled their drinks down and Romeo handed her her’s before taking his own and taking a gnererous sip. The burn of the alcohol stinging his throat left his belly warm. “No, Bella signora, it is me who will be all the envy tonight.” Grey eyes watched her from over the rim of his glass as he took another sip. Behind those eyes swirled hundreds of thoughts. Some he would probably never share with her, they were far too uncouth to even consider. He laughed at her nudge, Romeo couldn’t help the slight grin that parted his lips. Her own brand hm? Well that would certainly be interesting to see. “Perhaps after the main event of tonight’s events we can go find a quiet olace.” The garden, or even somewhere tucked away outdoors would work. It was odd though. Normally he probably would have passed if she were any other woman but Eloisa was something special and it was something he just didn’t want to lose. Romeo was a romantic at heart and he saw romance in everything, even tried to emulate it to the best of his ability. But when he was around Eloisa he could still be himself. The poetry loving book worm that he was and she didn’t judge him for it. She actually encouraged him By wanting hm to read to her. Which he would gladly do anytime she asked.

The sound of a door opening and closing gently from further down the upstairs hall was drowned out by the gradual swell of voices as families gathered and mingled. Many had not seen one another in ages, several were meeting for the first time, and some were seeing one another again far too soon. Amadeo approached the railing upstairs which overlooked the guests below. He possessed a calm, reserved demeanor, a well-worn and cultivated mask of civility and an impeccable air of respectability.
The Methuselah was looking forward to the first April 4th in many years where he was not the host, that honor once again fell to the now awakened Disciple who seemed to be momentarily tied up in his office with... well, Amadeo wasn't certain what energy was currently invading the estate but it felt old and very powerful. None of their wraiths would breach the sanctity of Augustus's office without his invitation but they seemed to be keeping an unusually wide distance from it at the present moment, moreso than usual.
So Amadeo stood, ignoring the fur standing on the nape of his neck, eyeing the throng below. He felt a swell of pride seeing so many Giovanni gathered together with plenty more on their way. Nonna was easy to spot below and he gave her a look that said 'Let the games begin.' before turning his eyes on the crowd. Where was Thane? He expected the Elder to likely try to avoid the gathering for as long as possible, social gatherings weren't precisely his most favored affair, but he had at least expected him to be out by now. The older male was dressed exceedingly well for the occasion, never one to falter in maintaining a flawlessly polished appearance. He took his position and responsibility to both his family and clan seriously. In fact it was his main motivator in almost all he did.
Speaking of that where were Acheron and Arisa? Were all his childer going to be late? He felt a mild flare of annoyance but allowed nothing to crack the perfect mask of warm hospitality and approachability he had cultivated so well for events such as these. Perhaps not all, but certainly most, Giovanni could be monsters beneath the surface, but they were well-bred, well-educated, well-mannered monsters if ever there existed such a frightening duality in a bloodline. His claws rolled absently across the railing, not quite ready to descend just yet. He could sense his Wraith close by but she was refusing to manifest with so many Giovanni present all at once. On any other night it would have been likely that a few guests would be subjected to her impish behavior. However, with the threat of Augustus looming over them all none of the Wraiths would be so bold as to act out of order tonight.Edon had arrived early, a not uncommon occurence, and was currently strolling along the path beneath the magnificent arch of trees towards the main estate with his nephew who seemed... rather distracted as of late. Edon hadn't pried, more from a lack of time rather than disinterest. Of course he was interested in whatever was occupying the young Machiavelli, he was interested in anything pulling his families focus from the family itself. He just hoped it wasn't something that was going to cause him to have yet another headache. The Elders younger sister seemed to be fashionably late as she hadn't arrived with them, but he wasn't focused on worrying about her quite yet, she would show. He had given quite the ultimatum regarding attendance tonight, they could not be seen to fail in making an appearance at the Disciples first April 4th dinner since his return. It was out of the question. His slender eyebrows furrowed curiously as Romeo hurried off into the house but something dazzling caught the Elders eye and diverted his attention almost instantaneously. He couldn't keep a handsome though warm smile from lighting up his previously cold expression. Gigi. She looked ravishing. A picture of beauty. A goddess made flesh. It took him little time to reach her and he slipped a hand down to gently ensnare her own, lifting it in a single smooth motion to press his lips to the back, her skin as soft as he remembered from their last encounter. "Buonasera, Lady Della Passaglia." His voice was a smooth purr of civility as those stormy grey eyes lifted to meet the rich, decadent brown of the beauty before him. "You look ravishing as always. Your radiant presence will certainly pale all the decadence of the evening by comparison." A soft smirk replaced the smile as he lowered her hand, his fingers sliding along her own in a subtly intimate gesture before he held out his arm for her to take. "Please allow me the honor of escorting you the rest of the way." The head of Machiavelli was dressed impeccably well in expertly tailored finery, perhaps even more so than usual. His long, pale hair fell neatly over his shoulders and down his back, his claws manicured to perfection, not a hair out of place. If he wasn't usually so put together it might have been exceptionally impressive but he was hardly one to be unkempt. They had standards to maintain. The familiar presence at his side instantly put his mind at ease and lifted his spirits, his mood greatly improved and his previous concerns laid to rest for the moment. It was going to be quite the evening. Dante was late because Dante was hungover. He had overslept and somehow managed to wake up in time to shower and change into his best suit before rushing over to the main estate. He hurried down the path, avoiding eye contact with anyone who even glanced at him, especially anyone with the last name Milliner, and slipped inside to grab a flute of champagne from a tray, acting like he'd been there for hours already. Somehow he pulled it off. Deceit wasn't hard for the twins. Now where the hell was his brother? He casually sipped his beverage, nodding to family members he hadn't seen in some time, and ones he wasn't related to and had never met before, as he kept an eye open for his sibling. There were some fine looking ladies milling about, he just had to be careful if he tried any moves on anyone, he sure as s**t didn't want to end up hitting on a cousin, gross. As he peeked into the drawing room he quickly withdrew again. He had spotted Davide, but he also saw Vinny and his husband. Nope. Big nope. Sorry Davide. He wasn't getting smacked tonight for being hungover. Even if no-one else could tell Vinny always knew. Therefore he would be doing his best to be a ghost for as long as possible. Armando was dressed to the nines and ready for a party. He had made it into the estate with a group of others and immediately hit the bar. Why not? It was a celebration after all. He had taken the night off at LUX to be here, figuring that the Rossellini would do well to show up. There weren't many of them who lived at the manor at the moment but that never really bothered him. He liked to be alone. Unfortunately he was having trouble indulging in that favored pasttime of late. With a gin and tonic currently taking the edge off, his gaze scanned the crowd. He hated being one of the taller members of the family, he always felt like he stuck out like a sore thumb. He sort of did. The tall FaeHorse was rather handsome, fortunately he could put it to use and had a large list of clientele at the club as a result. They padded his wallet nicely and allowed him to live the way he pleased. Not relying on his family for money and therefore able to avoid being too deeply pressed beneath their thumb. His long shock of silken purple hair cascaded down his back like water, stunning turquoise eyes lit with a soft smoldering glow roving the room, his demeanor calm and reserved. His cousin hadn't arrived yet but... s**t. Angel. ********. Angel was here. He felt a shiver as his gaze locked on the Elder momentarily. It kind of shocked him to see the head of the Hidalgo family for some reason, he hadn't quite expected him to show up to such a formal occasion. But then again Armando supposed no-one told the clans Disciple no when summoned. Either way, he was going to do his best to fly under the radar now. Where the hell was his cousin? He downed his drink and quickly requested another, obviously nervous as he thanked the bartender and tried to vanish into the growing number of guests.

Gigi had turned just in time to watch Edon approach, his long strides purposeful as he headed straight in her direction. She has stopped to admire the weeping willows when he found her. Warmth shone in her eyes as she regarded him with mild amusement. He lifted her hand to his lips and planted a soft kiss to the back of it, her eyes lidding halfway in pleasure as a smile curled the corners of her mouth. “As charming as ever, Sir Machiavelli.” Her fingers brushed against the palm of his hand, returning her own subtle gesture of affection. They hadn’t factly come out and told people they had been seeing one another, more privately. But if she stayed on his arm tonight others wouldn’t surely talk. Well let them talk She got to be with a God tonight and they could all eat their hearts out. Some might criticize her for jumping into a relationship so soon after Claudio. Well she was a vampire, not completely dead. She had needs and Edon filled every one. Of course, she had to restrain herself. Being so close to him stirring up things that no one in polite company would probably want to see. That would be for later. Behind bedroom doors. When he offered his arm she linked her arm with his. Her hand coming to rest on his upper arm, giving his bicep muscle a small squeeze. She knew what was beneath that suit. And it was all her’s. As they moved towards the mansion she made note of who was and wasn’t here yet. She was surprised to see some old faces had crawled out of the wood work for this auspicious occasion. “So many old faces have returned. Ah, look Angel is here. I wonder if Marcello knows yet.” That would certainly make for an interesting evening. Those two’s on again off again….thing was always good for entertainment. One minute they would be fine the next one or both of them would go flying off the wall and they would break up for the next one hundred years. But her attention fell back to Edon as they wandered down the hallway that lead to the rest of the mansion where the other guests were gathering. Eagerly awaiting Augusts’ appearance. “How have you been, Amore mio. I missed you last night.” She just assumed it was house business that had kept him away. There were times where she too had to put house before him. She hated those times but it was the only way to keep her house stable and not spiraling out of control. Angel, so far, had not noticed Armando yet.
