Challenge #1: What's Your Sign?
Designers! Do you believe in astrology? That where the stars were at in the sky on the night you were born can determine your personality? Your soulmate? What season you thrive in? The judges want you to wrangle the stars and make us believers. Let us get to know you better by designing a look inspired by your zodiac sign. Due Date: Jul. 27
Sy as in Why — Jaylyn = 67.5% (Total Score: 27) Style:6 • Creativity:7 • Motif:6 • Description:8 Comments: I'm conflicted. At first, I enjoyed their entry at first glance. The fiery phoenix concept was really cool to see, until looking it up, I realized Scorpio's a water sign. But after reading through their description, the phoenix take on Scorpio made more sense. After looking at the entry more, I feel 50/50 on it. Because Scorpio's a scorpion, and this reads more phoenix. It didn't really help that the tail's blending in with the background, so I couldn't tell right away that Jaylyn's a scorpion. But I really enjoy the symbolism that the phoenix represents for Sy, as a Scorpio.
FaithEmblem — Luz = 67.5% (Total Score: 27) Style:5 • Creativity:7 • Motif:6 • Description:9 Comments: The color scheme, the yellow and green, I actually enjoy. The description definitely helped made sense of these odd color choices for Virgo. I did enjoy the nod to Demeter to represent Virgo. However, had it not been for Faith's description, I would not have made the connection to the said goddess to being Virgo. Style-wise, it lacks consistency of the yellow, from the head-down. For referencing the goddess of agriculture, it lacks varied forms of plant life. And the make-up choices didn't help with the look as well.
Serena-of-Limonium — Raven = 77.5%(Total Score: 31) Style:7 • Creativity:7 • Motif:7 • Description:10 Comments: Dare I say, out of everyone's descriptions, Serena's the one to look out for. This description is everything I wanted to see and more. Their outfit is no less. I will first and foremost, clock the overly black eyeshadow that hides too much of Raven's eyes, though. Make-up choices aside, the outfit is so pretty. Having a Cancer sun and Pisces moon, and showcasing an aquatic wonderland of an entry, looks beautiful. However, t leans heavily more on being Pisces than Cancer, however. The dress that was meant to be Cancer, didn't really read as Cancer, but that aside, I'm at awe with this entry.
excites — Serena = 82.5% (Total Score: 33) Style:10 • Creativity:8 • Motif:9 • Description:6 Comments: This is such a wave of Pisces thrown into my face, and I'm into it. It reads editorial underwater photoshoot. This is peak aquatic ethereality, and I am obsessed. What a majestic entry. One main thing I do need to address is the obvious lack of "how" in their description. I see the "why", but I would like to know how they achieved such a stunning entry. Description aside, dare I say, this is my favorite entry of this challenge. I would pretty much like to see more of what excites has in store for us.
the purple mew — Eunwoo = 65% (Total Score: 26) Style:6.5 • Creativity:5 • Motif:5.5 • Description:9 Comments: This entry falls into the more simpler entries we've seen this week. I'm 50/50 on the simplicity, mainly because I don't think mew took it to that direction that I think she's going for. The description, for sure, amps the look up. Without it, I'd probably see this and think school girl. Eunwoo's look doesn't read sailor for me, at first sight, until I've read the description. But the simplicity of how they executed their concept, does make mew stand out. The description was mew's saving grace this week, though.
Haji Demon — Raine = 75% (Total Score: 30) Style:7 • Creativity:8 • Motif:7 • Description:8 Comments: This entry has lots of Middle Eastern flavors to it, which I enjoy. The colors look great on Raine, and it's really cool at first glance. Analyzing the details more, it does read a tad too messy for the eyes, but the overall image reads well. My favorite part of this is the beautiful colors that work well with each other, and looks beautiful on Raine. The background amps that Arabian feel that I love with this entry. Solid start for Haji.
Princess Warfare — Brandie = 82.5% (Total Score: 33) Style:8 • Creativity:8 • Motif:8 • Description:9 Comments: I like that Princess added elements of what a Gemini is like as a person without being too on the nose with their characteristics into their entry. The color scheme looks regal on Brandie. The overall entry just screams glamour masquerade, and I'm very into it. This entry was worth the wait because this is how you start off a cycle. Princess is showing immense improvement with their fashion game, and I am impressed. Though if we were to nitpick, maybe something on the head would've been nice to add, maybe a jester hat to push the jester concept more, but that aside, this is a great entry.
Kr-E — Cheska = 77.5% (Total Score: 31) Style:7.5 • Creativity:8 • Motif:8.5 • Description:7 Comments: I love that Kr-E took her sun and moon signs to create this beautiful of a look. Cheska looks ethereal, which is always a win in my book. The blend of Cancer and Scorpio looks stunning together. The colors of the outfit feel fiery, with the cool water background is really nice to see. Didn't think opposite elements match, but here we are. I will strip off points for using the same item, though (same goes with Sy's entry). But, this case isn't too bad that it gets a severe punishment (again, same goes with Sy's entry). Description needs a more in-depth details as to how Kr-E achieved her look. I get the why of it through and through, but the "how" is what I wanna know.
Detrimentum — Eryn = 85% (Total Score: 34) Style:9 • Creativity:8 • Motif:9 • Description:8 Comments: Detri taking on a modern approach to Scorpio, seeing as there seems to be lots of Scorpios within our line-up, made Detri stand out and it paid off. They added the characteristics of Scorpios, which is so on-the-nose, but with how Detri presented it doesn't feel as so. This is an uber cool styling from them. These types of aesthetic isn't within my repertoire, but I look forward to seeing this styling from Detri. This feels so different, and it's a nice take on Scorpio.
BloodAngel95 — Amira = 75% (Total Score: 30) Style:8 • Creativity:7 • Motif:8 • Description:7 Comments: Style-wise, I love the obvious nods to Themis, the representation of Libra. I'm also at awe with each elements of this entry having connections to everything about Libra, and how Angel is as a Libra. Though, something about this empty somewhat feels empty, but I can't pinpoint what it is. Something feels missing... Maybe a touch more creativity? I can't really say... That aside, the description's solid, and the motif is spot on. A solid entry for Blood's 2nd time.
Sleepy Luna Moth — Kiara = 60% (Total Score: 24) Style:4 • Creativity:6 • Motif:7 • Description:7 Comments: Style-wise, the dress itself, it seems as though it's only one item. For someone that mentions creativity as part of being a Sagittarius, Luna sure didn't get creative with Kiara's outfit. The background choices, however, does somewhat make up for it, but not enough that I can forgive the lack of substance with Kiara's outfit. Kudos for not taking the obvious route of going archer for their sign, but the outfit... Give me more on the outfit, please. Their background carried this look for me, which isn't normally a bad thing, but the outfit is the focal point of their entry, hence, it should be the star of the show.
Serafiella — Tessa = 80% (Total Score: 32) Style:7.5 • Creativity:8 • Motif:7.5 • Description:9 Comments: This is a stellar take on Taurus. The conceptual take on "The Great Bull of Heaven" reads well. This color scheme is really breathtaking on Tessa. The outfit itself is pretty. Flowy and full of movement. The make-up choice ties well with the outfit, and accentuates Tessa's beautiful face. My only gripe, is that the color of the horns blends too much with the moon. Maybe bigger and/or a different colored horns would've been nice to see, but this is a nice entry from Serafiella.

What's Your Sign? 27
Sy as in Why — Jaylyn: 67.5% Style:7 • Motif:6 • Creativity:6 • Description:8 Comments: My journey with this entry was an interesting one. Immediate response was positive, I really liked the color scheme on Jaylyn and thought it was a pleasing look over all. Then there was confusion cause why is Scorpio look so phoenix heavy? Then some disappointment because so many pieces of the same item were used. But this description did everything it was supposed to do and turned me around on a lot of things, swinging me back to positive vibes. Using so many poses of the same item lost creativity points, but going with the idea of rebirth and that element of Scorpio was creative enough it evened out positively. I thought the pose of Jaylyn was smart. I am very optimistic about the kinds of looks we'll see in the future from Sy.
FaithEmblem — Luz: 60% Style:6 • Motif:6 • Creativity:5 • Description:7 Comments: Kudos to Faith for being the first to post and doing it so quickly. She didn't hesitate and I like that. That being said, maybe she should have hesitated a little bit more. The make up is very distracting to me. I did not get Virgo at first glance, or necessarily justified in the description, but in doing some research of my own I see more of what she was going for and appreciate the look a bit more. Just wish there had been more explanation of things - more information on Virgo for people who might be unaware and why she chose the things she did. I even would have liked hearing why she started with blue and how that tied in. She is right that Luz stuns in emerald though.
Serena-of-Limonium — Raven: 52.5% Style:4 • Motif:5 • Creativity:7 • Description:5 Comments: What the hell are the eyes? They lose points. Honestly in a different challenge they are so different I honestly feel like it might even be at risk of disqualification. I feel like they change the base model that much. But let's focus on the rest of the look and entry. If I could just delete the eyes I think this might be a nice entry? It reads as Cancer - limitedly - and has some influence of Pisces as well. The description is long but it didn't really say enough that was needed? There is just a whole lot of room for improvement.
excites — Serena: 62.5% Style:5 • Motif:6 • Creativity:8 • Description:6 Comments: I think this is too much make up and changes the face too much. This might need to be part of an announcement to all designers to be very aware of how make up impacts things. I love that excites decided to embrace Pisces by doing an underwater look. I also think it was successful in selling underwater, it feels like Serena is floating. The swirls near the head are a little messy with some of the details though. I love love love the idea of having fish swimming around, but wish they weren't as hidden. Need more why from the description. And I don't love the general color scheme chosen for Serena, but this is fine.
the purple mew — Eunwoo: 60% Style:6 • Motif:6 • Creativity:5 • Description:7 Comments: I do not get sailor. Does anyone else get sailor? There are so many options for things to convey sailor and I see none of them. The combination of a pedestrian look and the full night galaxy is also a little odd to me. I can see what they were going for thanks to the description, but I'm not sure it actually paid off. It was a decent description. I could still use a little bit more why and item explanation, but that is to be expected at this stage. And Eunwoo doesn't look bad! It is just...very simple.
Haji Demon — Raine: 50% Style:5 • Motif:5 • Creativity:6 • Description:4 Comments: Oh Haji. This is clearly Scorpio? I can say that. There is just so much crap going on I have a hard time seeing a damn thing. And that description was a whole other level of underwhelming. Don't tell us you did research, tell us some of the results! What you learned that guided this look! I am having a really hard time following the line of Raine's body and pose. The color scheme is pleasant and I like the background, but god. Maybe I'm being too harsh because Haji has far more experience than most do and you can't tell at all here.
Princess Warfare — Brandie: 75% Style:8 • Motif:7 • Creativity:8 • Description:7 Comments: This was worth the wait. I am so proud of Princess for this look! Their skill just keeps improving. Okay, focusing now. It was a bold choice again to cover the face, but I think it paid off. This reads Gemini. Not only as an abstract of the sign, but it matches Geminis I know in real life in a great way. I didn't need to see all the poses because they don't benefit things, but since I know she was having some issues I won't fault her for not cropping it. I'm also not sure I needed the new bookcase item, but I can live with it. I do hope that the tendency to cover faces isn't a prevalent feature to this cycle though.
Kr-E — Cheska: 70% Style:7 • Motif:7 • Creativity:7 • Description:7 Comments: This is breathe of pleasant relief after the last couple of looks. This is Cancer (in a positive way) and it is well balanced. From color to pose to just general composition, balanced. I'm not sure I love the crown and something feels bare about the face? Not sure just what it is. I think something seems odd with the chest too but I can explain that even less. I might have liked one less wave? But this is good. And a decent description, though I'm still missing some more of the why behind what they did and did not include.
Detrimentum — Eryn: 85% Style:8 • Motif:9 • Creativity:9 • Description:8 Comments: This is like a breath of fresh air. Detri is a pro and this shows it at every level. Every little detail is on point. Some of them - like the hair clips - stand out almost a little too much but as important as they are to selling the idea of Scorpio I can forgive them. I wish the tail was angled out a little more so that the tip of it wasn't hidden behind her hair, but I do really like this over all. A strong description too, and a good pose. I wish the background was a liiiiittle bit different from the rest of the look? But frankly this feels like it is leagues above all the others this week.
BloodAngel95 — Amira: 75% Style:8 • Motif:7 • Creativity:7 • Description:8 Comments: It was a bold choice to cover so much of the face for the first challenge, but I think I like it. As a Libra myself, I thought she did it justice! Some things felt a little too on the nose? But there was thought put into the different elements and it was backed up and explained in the description so well. Having experience in the past cycle is really shown here. The background is a little hard to appreciate all the details. The blue on the head is a little bit harsh. The bottom gusts feel more like waves than air. But this is a really strong first entry.
Sleepy Luna Moth — Kiara: 55% Style:5 • Motif:5 • Creativity:7 • Description:5 Comments: I do not like this. Description is the best part, and even that is a struggle for me. I get all the information about the sign and I appreciate the hell out of that but there is almost nothing about the look itself. And the details that are mentioned don't benefit the look. I appreciate why she added chains, but these might be the worst chain options. It cuts across the neck in an almost macabre way. I don't get a sense of fire. This is another look where I despise the make up and whatever the black mark on Kiara's forehead is. I guess I kind of get a sense of healing from the pose, but even that I think could have been portrayed better? Over all I am just so underwhelmed and I hope Moth can turn it out more in the next challenge.
Serafiella — Tessa: 67.5% Style:6 • Motif:6 • Creativity:8 • Description:7 Comments: I don't have a lot to say about this at first glance. It is perfectly fine. The make up is a nice balance to things but it isn't my favorite thing either. While the moon makes sense, it detracts from the horns and I think the horns are the much more important feature for this look. There is also a somewhat odd dark spot at the bottom of the look by her legs. But over all this is a really good look. It's pleasing. And it shows a lot of potential for the future with Serafiella.

The judges want you to wrangle the stars and make us believers. Let us get to know you better by designing a look inspired by your zodiac sign. Due Date: Jul. 27
Sy as in Why — Jaylyn: 57.5% Style: 5 • Motif: 5 • Creativity: 5 • Description: 8 Comments: the description saved this look for me; usually when i think of scorpio i associate it with water but the take on the spiritual transformation was really helpful for me understanding the vision! the look is a touch busy for my liking with too many pops of color to pull the eye away from any major focal point- i keep looking at the phoenix rather than her face! i do like the colors ( but the pop of green in the background is throwing me off x_x!)
FaithEmblem — Luz: 45% Style: 4 • Motif: 5 • Creativity: 3 • Description: 6 Comments: as a virgo myself i was super excited to view this entry! upon reflecting on it further, i have a few notes that i think could've helped this look overall! i really like the concept but not the execution i'm afraid; the make up paired with the other colors doesn't seem to fit really ; and this is super nitpicky but the red jewelry near the neck line distracts really badly! i think blue would've complimented luz's features a bit better i'm afraid ; _;
Serena-of-Limonium — Raven: 80% Style: 7 • Motif: 8 • Creativity: 9 • Description: 8 Comments: first off i just want to say i am such a sucker for red/blue as a color scheme so already i was interested but hearing about the backstory + about how you went about doing it were really cool! i really love the ethereal vibe this gives honestly! i feel you know how to play to raven's strengths and it really shows here!
excites — Serena: 85% Style: 9 • Motif: 9 • Creativity: 9 • Description: 7 Comments: i really love this look! i love the colors and concept; the fresh take on pisces really caught my attention and i love all the little attentions to detail in this look! i could've done with more of a description but over all the look is really nice!!!
the purple mew — Eunwoo: 27.5% Style: 2 • Motif: 1 • Creativity: 3 • Description: 5 Comments: i'm really sorry! this look does not say zodiac to me at all and even with the help of the description i can't really find anything that draws me towards the challenge in this. i would've loved to see a moon goddess, or some more focus on the moon more than it being a background piece.
Haji Demon — Raine: 35% Style: 4 • Motif: 3 • Creativity: 4 • Description: 3 Comments: this look doesn't read to me very well unfortunately; the slightly teal/green haze paired with the coralish red of the sky and the purples and bronzes are all kind of a lot and i'm not really sure where to look unfortunately.
Princess Warfare — Brandie: 70% Style: 7 • Motif: 8 • Creativity: 7 • Description: 6 Comments: i really like this approach honestly!! i really love the 'court jester' vibe and this look really does give the vibe of sitting in the library while the king reads, teasing him every few minutes until you're sent off somewhere else for a bit! i really like the juxtaposition of the red and white and i feel the colors were spread evenly around so my eye had time to rest!
Kr-E — Cheska: 75% Style: 9 • Motif: 8 • Creativity: 7 • Description: 6 Comments: i really love these colors on cheska!! really really good composition and theming as well! i love how the moon is perfectly in line with the look so you can still see it but it doesn't take up the whole portrait! The waves also frame cheska very nicely!! this is a really good look and i really love the visuals in this! the little details are v delightful!
Detrimentum — Eryn: 72.5% Style: 9 • Motif: 7 • Creativity: 6 • Description: 7 Comments: i'm such a sucker for alt looks and this checks every single box when it comes to that; the clips in the hair, the pentagram garters with the sheer skirt and double stud belts , the leg warmers, the buster top- mwah! a perfect love letter to all things alt! i really like the addition of the tail as well but i feel it blends in too much with the background ; i would've preferred a different backdrop if i'm being honest but the rest of the look is amazing! BloodAngel95 — Amira: 62.5% Style: 6 • Motif: 7 • Creativity: 6 • Description:6 Comments: this looks great! i like the motif and i like the way you've laid everything out but my one complaint is it doesn't read libra enough to me! i honestly thought aries at first because the blue bits on the head remind me of horns- ionly when i read the description did i look back and see the scales. i really would've liked to have seen more to indicate libra there! the blindfold is a nice touch but a bigger scale element might've helped out!
Sleepy Luna Moth — Kiara: 15% Style: 1 • Motif: 1 • Creativity: 1 • Description: 3 Comments: i truly am very sorry but i do not like this look at all; i don't understand it and it doesn't say sagittarius to me at all. your description helped me see what you were going for but the execution is just not there for me. the main item on the model is a 1 item dress with no accessories. the head looks like it's somehow fallen back or is floating there and i just don't quite get what was being told to me. i would've been more on board with the 'healer' side of things if you'd gone in sort of a JRPG way and had made kiara an actual healer so the message would've come across clearer.
Serafiella — Tessa: 80% Style:8 • Motif:9 • Creativity:8 • Description:7 Comments: i really like this look! it balances out very well and i really enjoy the subtility of your zodiac additions while still having them be recognizable amidst the look itself! the shoes look like hooves while the dress kind of gives the same tone an ox would have on it's coat- the pops of gold help the look come to kife and the accessories are classy! a really nice look!

Challenge 1 ✧ What's Your Sign? Designers! Do you believe in astrology? That where the stars were at in the sky on the night you were born can determine your personality? Your soulmate? What season do you thrive in? The judges want you to wrangle the stars and make us believers. Let us get to know you better by designing a look inspired by your zodiac sign.
Sy as in Why ✧ Jaylyn ✧ 41%
Style:3 • Motif:5.5 • Creativity:2 • Description:6 Comments: The purple and oranges look gorgeous on Jaylyn, though the balance of colors is off. I would have liked to see less orange and more purple. I get the theme of the phoenix going on here but that doesn't mean the model needs to be drowning in a singular color. I'm also not sold on the background choice. I like that she was giving a nod to water, but it just doesn't read as water, more like space.
Unfortunately, this build (not including the background) looks like it consists of only three different items: Incandescent Dance of the Phoenix (used three times), Sunset Fleur de Reve (used twice), and Glorious Hive Mind (used once). The idea was good, but the execution was unfortunately lazy.
What she has for the description is really good in my opinion. She does a good job explaining why she chose to do what she did and I was convinced by her choices. The lack of a 'how,' however, lost her points.
FaithEmblem ✧ Luz ✧ 49%
Style:4 • Motif:4 • Creativity:5 • Description:6.5 Comments: Love Luz's posing; it does look like she is rising from the earth like a flower; very cute idea! I also like the use of the tail feathers as leafy greens and how the flowers and leaves behind her fan out behind her head, giving a sort of halo effect. The look, however, could have used a lot more. It's just too simple. Maybe build off the little bit of red in her collar and add more? Her makeup is another downside to this look. The green undershadow makes her look a little sickly and the pink just isn't Luz's color.
I'm also not sold on the theme she came up with, mostly because this doesn't look like Demeter who is the goddess of agriculture, grain, the harvest, fertility (especially concerning the earth), crops. She also has some relation to the Underworld. And nothing about this avatar makes me think of any of these things.
Serena-of-Limonium ✧ Raven ✧ 67.5%
Style:6 • Motif:7 • Creativity:7 • Description:7 Comments: I'm really like the color combo, but I fear it is far too similar to what was done for the audition entry. I feel if this had focused more on using the red as highlights as stated in the description, it would feel less copy-paste. As it is, there's a significant amount of red along with the blue. The makeup is too much; it makes her eyes feel muddied and out of focus. I also do not like the jacket? cape? cloak? used in this. It makes Raven feel overly bulky.
excites ✧ Serena ✧ 82.5%
Style:9.5 • Motif:9 • Creativity:8.5 • Description:6 Comments: This is so gorgeous! I love the colors contrasted with Serena's skin and hair. The billowing dress is perfect for the setting of an underwater photoshoot and the arm mod and leg mod chosen were on point. The background makes the whole avatar seem so ethereal (though the top part feels a little muddied). My only real complaint about the avatar itself is that I'm not sold on the makeup choices. Aside from that, the description could use a lot more. Basically, there are only really three short sentences defending the choices made for this look.
the purple mew ✧ Eunwoo ✧ 50%
Style:5 • Motif:5 • Creativity:5 • Description:5 Comments: I idea of Eunwoo being a sailor of the stars, but this really just reads schoolgirl to me, rather than actual sailor. I don't know if the intention was to be Sailor Scout themed or what, but...from the description I was looking for literal sailor, which I did not get. The outfit itself is really simple and I think there's too much white up at the top--a little more color balancing would have been nice. A different color of that arm mod would have been better too, as the darker blue is jarring. The posing of the arms is cute--a substitution of Balloon Ride would have been nice though to avoid using too many specifically sailor-tagged items.
Haji Demon ✧ Raine ✧ 47.5%
Style:4 • Motif:5 • Creativity:6 • Description:4 Comments: This was ultimately a really disappointing look for me. I love a good Arabian-themed avatar, but this didn't hit the mark. There's too much clutter on Raine's body, which is muddying everything and making it hard to tell what's what. Also, is she floating? There might be a pillow under her but I can't tell for sure, which makes her look like she's floating in any case. The description is also sorely lacking. Why the Arabian style? Why those colors? Besides the scorpion tail, what does any of this have to do with Scorpio? How was the outfit put together?
Princess Warfare ✧ Brandie ✧ 82.5%
Style:8 • Motif:10 • Creativity:8 • Description:7 Comments: This definitely turned out really well. The red, white, and gold color scheme is beautiful and I love the mismatch-y look it has going on. I would have liked to see less red in the background and a little more red on the model herself, maybe something in her hair? or an earring? to help balance out the leg. Also wish the wings were more visible.
And this is an example of using multiple items from a set (the female and male versions of an item in this particular case) that works. The two half masks create one mask and the outfit does not rely heavily on the fact multiple poses were used.
Kr-E ✧ Cheska ✧ 67%
Style:6.8 • Motif:8 • Creativity:5 • Description:7 Comments: This avatar looks really gorgeous when you first look at it. The oranges and blues are striking together and look great with Cheska's features. Upon closer inspection, I was kind of disappointed. The moon doesn't layer correctly, the dress used layers awkwardly with the leg pose. While I get the idea for the water and like the intent of it, all the different water effects read messy. Also using recolors of Daughter of the Waters four times was severely disappointing to see, especially when you throw two Dragonboat Festivals on top of it. Additionally, while the arm mod doesn't look bad, it's used so often on avatars like this (and without any reasoning to back it up), that I would have greatly preferred seeing something else. All that being said, I think the head is gorgeous. The makeup is really well done and the crab item you managed to get is good--not too obvious and in your face.
Detrimentum ✧ Eryn ✧ 81.25%
Style:7 • Motif:8 • Creativity:8.5 • Description:9 Comments: I love a good black and red color scheme and the edgy punk/goth style is really nice! Despite my love for fantasy, it was nice to see a modern look for this theme! And I agree with Detrimentum that the little devil-looking horns are so cute! I'm not digging the background choice. I think it adds too much red and distracts from the model herself. And speaking of the model, her waist area looks...wrong somehow. Might just be the black belt (don't know if that's two separate belts or a combo), which feels unnecessary 'cause it blends in considering her shorts are black, leaving the white details sticking out, which are distracting. Also, don't know what that part is on her stomach?
BloodAngel95 ✧ Amira ✧ 70%
Style:7 • Motif:8 • Creativity:7 • Description:6 Comments: This is an avatar that I feel could have really benefitted from a full background. I want to see her in an actual setting, perhaps with some lighting to soften the blues a little to match the softness of her hair. All in all, Amira looks pretty here, but it just feel lacking a little bit. I'm disappointed that half the scales are covered; I wish there had been more focus on that. I also don't see any wind. I see Frosty Gust was used, but the background cutter makes it disappear almost completely, and I would not have even noticed what little is visible if not for the equipped items list. That being said, I do think the blues and golds look good together and I appreciate how the flow of the dress on the bottom left helps balance out the arm pose and hair combo on the top right.
Sleepy Luna Moth ✧ Kiara ✧ 62.5%
Style:4 • Motif:8 • Creativity:6 • Description:7 Comments: As a Sagittarius myself, I really enjoyed the focus taken on it and relate to it a lot. I think the chains work well but the cracks in the skin, particularly the face, are distracting and do more harm than good. Her armmod works for the direction being taken but I'm not sold on the legmod, nor the tears--tears are a fine idea but the ones being used look...bad. This is also another really simple look that could have used more. I do appreciate the background and additional elements (though Kiara is blending in too much), as they help build on the idea, but the outfit itself is sorely lacking--consisting of only a single item that I can see.
Serafiella ✧ Tessa ✧ 76%
Style:8 • Motif:8 • Creativity:7 • Description:7.5 Comments: I find this look to be very cute! I like that there was intent on keeping Tessa human. I would have liked to see a more realistic background, rather than seeing Tessa floating on nothing in space. I'm also not sold on the choice to make her leg mod armored. It just doesn't really fit with the rest of the outfit and is kind of distracting. The rest of the outfit though looks lovely, especially the accents of gold tying in with her makeup--it was a nice touch.

Challenge #2: A Girl Who Flirts Description: Designers! With some pearls, a little lace and some bows we want you to create a beautiful coquette look for your model. Let this link guide you on your journey to bring us an endearing coquette look, but don't forget to make it your own. Give us pearls, lace and bows. Give us coquette. Due Date: Aug. 11
Sy as in Why — Jaylyn = 68.75% (Total Score: 27.5) Style:7 • Creativity:6.5 • Motif:7 • Description:7 Comments: Similar notes to mew, Sy stepped it up with their styling choices. I see they experimented with different items and poses to achieve a rather cute dress. Though I do see the leg pose + skirt not layering well, as I see Jaylyn's knees. Like mew's, this isn't terrible, but it's somewhere in the middle for me. However, the styling choices really sold this entry.
FaithEmblem — Luz = 78.75% (Total Score: 31.5) Style:8 • Creativity:8 • Motif:8 • Description:7.5 Comments: I like the touches of "Farmer's Daughter" type of coquette in Faith's entry. IDK if that's what they were aiming for, but I like the different take on coquette. The skirt reads more bloomers/shorts, but it somehow worked out in Faith's favor, because the overall outfit reads babydoll-ish. Luz looks like a farmer's beautiful daughter, going to a café. I like that Faith chose the colors of the eye makeup that we clocked her for their entry last challenge, and sought to show improvement. I see they tried to show that they're listening to our feedbacks. The blue/pink color scheme looks great on Luz.
Serena-of-Limonium — Raven = 85%(Total Score: 34) Style:8 • Creativity:8 • Motif:9 • Description:9 Comments: I like this silhouette. This is one gorgeous nightgown. This entry emulates coquette the best out of everyone's, at least for me. I can definitely tell Serena did their research, because this entry is peak coquette, but still catering to the "dollette" feel that people know the aesthetic for. This entry made me like "dollette" again. It's that good of an entry for me.
excites — Serena = 77.5% (Total Score: 31) Style:7.5 • Creativity:7.5 • Motif:8 • Description:8 Comments: I'm into the cross between "dollette" and "nymphet" coquettes in this entry. This has everything that coquette is known for, yet still caters to the trend. I would've liked the background to be more cohesive with the look. I like the background as is, but with Serena, I don't totally see the connection.
the purple mew — Eunwoo = 72.5% (Total Score: 29) Style:7 • Creativity:7 • Motif:7 • Description:8 Comments: I appreciate mew stepping it up with their styling choices. It's definitely an upgrade compared to their last entry. This entry fits the theme. Eunwoo has pearls, bows and lace(?). I immediately get that they went for the "dollette"' route for this challenge. Good for mew to be the first one to do so. This isn't a terrible entry, by any means, but this doesn't excite me in the slightest, either.
Haji Demon — Raine = 60% (Total Score: 24) Style:6 • Creativity:5 • Motif:7 • Description:6 Comments: I appreciate Haji's honesty about their struggles with this challenge. Struggles aside, they chose the perfect person to reference into their entry, Lana del Ray. She's peak coquette, and Haji got her essence. I would've liked this entry better had Haji leaned more heavily into their entry being Lana del Ray-inspired, knowing that Lana's the definition of what being a coquette girl is all about. The outfit itself fits the brief, but it's not something that gets me giddy with joy and excitement.
Princess Warfare — Brandie = 57.5% (Total Score: 23) Style:7 • Creativity:6 • Motif:7 • Description:3 Comments: This could've went the dark coquette route, with how scenic and dark the background is, but Princess' description did not do anything to amp up their entry. The complete lack of "hows" and "whys" is what's bugging me with this entry. Their outfit, by itself, doesn't completely read witchy. But, I see where Princess was going with this, and the description portion could've helped her here, but she did not take advantage of it at all, which costed her, quite frankly, a good chunk of points.
Kr-E — Cheska = 77.5% (Total Score: 31) Style:7.5 • Creativity:7.5 • Motif:8 • Description:8 Comments: I like the narrative Kr-E went for with this entry. It added a touch of originality to it. I definitely see all the elements that makes this look "coquette". The overall outfit exudes that elegance that coquette is known for. Though I'm 50/50 on the color choices for the background, specifically the sky. But this is a stunning entry, nonetheless.
Detrimentum — Eryn = 71.25% (Total Score: 28.5) Style:8 • Creativity:5 • Motif:8 • Description:7 Comments: I like that Detri chose to reference a real-life coquette dress into their entry. The dress they chose looks identical to the ones she showed. That aside, this is just another "dollette" take on coquette. What I do like about this one is that it's a more fully realized "dollette" aesthetic. It's peak "dollette", which is what most people know of coquette. But, again, it is just another "dollette" entry.
BloodAngel95 — Amira = 76.25% (Total Score: 30.5) Style:7.5 • Creativity:7.5 • Motif:7.5 • Description:8 Comments: I'm very into how Angel chose a beach setting for their entry, because the background helped their entry read "Coconut Girl" coquette. That said, IDK if I would wanna wear a jacket on such a rather hot setting. But the rest of the outfit looks like a coquette girlie would wear on the beach, minus the jacket. It's not ugly, just not fitting with the setting. Also, had Angel been intentional with going for a "Coconut Girl" coquette entry, this would've been rated higher, but, for what it is, I enjoy it.
Sleepy Luna Moth — Kiara = 55% (Total Score: 22) Style:3 • Creativity:6 • Motif:6 • Description:7 Comments: Oh my... This... uh... … This ain't it. I don't encourage bending/breaking the body mod rules by any means, and this a a bad example of doing so, because it did not pay off in Moth's favor whatsoever. Don't get me wrong, the dress itself is a standout because of the great color choice. The colors are stunning on Kiara. But my main issue lies with the make-up and hair choices. This ain't Kiara anymore. Moth almost crossed the line of disqualification for not following body mod rules. What somewhat saved this entry is for sure the dress, and the styling choices from the face down.
Serafiella — Tessa = 77.5% (Total Score: 31) Style:7.5 • Creativity:7.5 • Motif:7.5 • Description:8.5 Comments: Sera's color choices for this challenge reads bubblegum coquette. But IDK if that was their goal. The color choices are what's selling me with this entry. I just wished there was more colors going on to really amp up that variant of coquette. More rainbow colors, please. But that said, the dress is so cute, and it looks great on Tessa. The background choices, with the butterflies makes sense. Similar to Angel's entry, had Sera realized where their entry was going, and tried to encapsulate more the bubblegum coquette aesthetic, this would've been rated higher. But overall, another solid entry from Sera.

Sy as in Why — Jaylyn: 70% Style: 8 • Motif: 7 • Creativity: 6 • Description: 7 Comments: I like this general vibe. Another good set of styling choices, with a pleasant framing. Jaylyn is on a couch but with how plush it is and with the framing, it has the vibe of a curtained bed of old. Matches the aesthetic. But anyway, this is another look that is just nice. The eyeshadow is a little heavy, almost messy. I wish the legs and skirt layered a bit better together, but I think over all I prefer this look to some of the others? Black crosses on the skirt are a nice balance but also feel kind of clunky still.
FaithEmblem — Luz: 77.5% Style: 8 • Motif: 9 • Creativity: 7 • Description: 7 Comments: I still hate the eye make up. Like a lot. Like it is a visceral knee jerk reaction of not liking or wanting it. I also have no idea what blue thing Luz is supposed to be holding? Or is it just a layering issue? Ugh. BUT this color scheme on Luz is great, and this is a near perfect use of background. It feels right. The outfit is simple but Faith did a great job of putting work into it. It is all well balanced. Just... the dang eye shadow, haha.
Serena-of-Limonium — Raven: 80% Style: 8 • Motif: 8 • Creativity: 8 • Description: 8 Comments: Do the eyes look weird to anyone else? I think it's just a trick of the eye shadow, but they look like alien black eyes. It's weird. But anyway. This is a good look, I appreciate the research done and how it was shared with us in the description. As someone who is also not well versed in coquette and doesn't always get the difference between it and lolita beyond vibes, it was nice to feel seen. xD I love the work that went into layers to create the nightgown. I'm okay with the background, but something needed to be added to balance her hair. At this point it sticks out like a red thumb.
excites — Serena: 76.25% Style: 7 • Motif: 8 • Creativity: 7.5 • Description: 8 Comments: I like this! I agree that the bows in the hair kind of give vibes of pigtails which gives the look a younger vibe than I would like. I like the background but feel like there needs to either be something to anchor it more and make it feel real, or add a dreamy element so it's just an aesthetic. I like the idea of tights and leg warmers but I don't think the black tights work. I keep wishing they were lighter. But this is one of my favorite outfits over all.
the purple mew — Eunwoo: 72.5% Style: 7 • Motif: 8 • Creativity: 6 • Description: 8 Comments: Coquette is not my forte, but I it seems like purple really met this challenge. And I like the vibe of this look. The under dress, the corset, the pearls and lace. It is a nice aesthetic. I don't love the black corset being the only piece of black, it just feels extra heavy. The background framing is really nice. I just..it's nice! There is room for growth and I think we'll see it happen.
Haji Demon — Raine: 45% Style: 6 • Motif: 6 • Creativity: 3 • Description: 3 Comments: I appreciate the honesty. I...am just so confused though. Haji had some truly stellar entries last cycle, and so far this cycle it just feels phoned in. Incredibly lack luster descriptions, half hearted outfits, it just...I don't know what to say. The hair bow is the most distracting thing to me. I like the work put into layering corsets. I don't know why you wouldn't come up with some kind of story though, I think it would have helped focus and create a better end result than the inspo/focus of 'Lana Album Cover'.
Princess Warfare — Brandie: 65% Style: 8 • Motif: 9 • Creativity: 6 • Description: 3 Comments: This may have been my top look of the week, but the description is just non existent. Like why is the title flirts with death? Is the background the thing that makes this a witchy look? Honestly I love the idea of this pretty pink flirty girl in a cemetery, having the juxtaposition, but I think there needs to be more explanation, or something to round it out just a bit more. Cause right now my imagination is doing the heavy lifting. I absolutely love how Brandie is styled though, and the colors are well balanced. Design wise Princess has impressed me again, but the description makes me cry inside.
Kr-E — Cheska: 75% Style: 7.5 • Motif: 7 • Creativity: 9 • Description: 6.5 Comments: I have a..mixed reaction to this one. It's very pretty, and I can't say there's any big thing wrong. But I don't like the background. The sky is just off - I like the blue but not really the shine. And while I love the story of the garden, it feels cluttered and heavy. Cheska's arm pose also cuts the shine in half behind her which adds just another odd sight. But ignoring the background, this look is immaculate. It is so well balanced and the colors are so pleasant on Cheska. The bows work well in the hair, almost surprisingly so. The pearls also suit things well. Cute outfit. Shoes are great. I just want a different background over all.
Detrimentum — Eryn: 78.75% Style: 9 • Motif: 9 • Creativity: 7 • Description: 6.5 Comments: Babe, what is this description? What is there is great, but there is just so little there. Especially since Detri has so much practice with this, I expect more. The shoes kind of look like ice skates. All of that said...I freaking love this, haha. Cute and well used background, drawing off a real life dress and doing it so well, the sparkly make up to balance off some of Eryn's expression to make it more flirty and cute. This is in the same vibe as all the looks before it. But I like this.
BloodAngel95 — Amira: 73.75% Style: 7 • Motif: 6 • Creativity: 7.5 • Description: 9 Comments: On the opposite side of the spectrum from Princess, this description is damn near perfect. Maybe a bit more explanation could be added, but this is a great one. I'm the odd man out that doesn't like the background. It's cute, it's fun, it says beach. But it is a little too busy and bright behind lovely pale Amira. I guess the outfit is fine, it works, but there is nothing that blows me away. I don't feel like she's having flirty fun wearing a heavy cardigan at the beach. I liked the direction of the darker dress, and just wish she'd gone in that direction. But this isn't like offensively bad. It's just..a look? Idk. I forget about it when I don't look at it.
Sleepy Luna Moth — Kiara: 35% Style: 2 • Motif: 2 • Creativity: 5.5 • Description: 4.5 Comments: Look, I love the dress. Like the idea of a girl in Paris, city of love, for this girl who flirts challenge. Color is very good on Kiara. But I couldn't care less about these good aspects, frankly. The hair and face mod is too much for me. The whole point of Project Catwalk is working with the model as they're given to you. Kiara does have difficult hair. But that doesn't mean you can change it with bangs and a ponytail and a completely different face. I couldn't care less if the face she's supposed to use is under all that, it looks different, down to the mouth. Arms may be the correct skin color, but because of how they're rendered they look wrong. I just..I like Sleepy Luna Moth, but I hate this.
Serafiella — Tessa: 92.5% Style: 9 • Motif: 10 • Creativity: 8 • Description: 10 Comments: ROUND OF APPLAUSE! My head is full of clapping and cheering. I am so proud of Sera for this look, haha. The background is bold but Tessa isn't lost. There's color and balance while still having pops that draw the eye around the space. That description? Love it. I would have liked a little bit more creativity in the picking of items. Since she has the item list included, I can see a lot are Bloom/Blooming variants. Which works out great here and I'm not mad at, but it does at the same time feel like she just searched for that word/color scheme and didn't do much else. But the work is there to show she did it. Idk. I love this, and this is not an entry I forget when I look away haha.

Sy as in Why — Jaylyn: 40% Style:3 • Motif:3 • Creativity:3 • Description:7 Comments: i'll be real honest i'm already getting fatigued with the 'hands covering torso and mouth' pose; it hides so many crucial points for a look; the shirt, the expression, the sleeves, and often the upper waist as well. i do not want to see this pose again- not just from sy but from anyone. the look is lacking in terms of coquette as well; coquette is about the accessories or the vibe; she needed earrings, a necklace, more present bows. i also do not like the black shoe. small nitpick as well; the border has a blue flower in the left corner that doesn't tie into any other color on the model and sticks out like a sore thumb/keeps drawing my eye.
FaithEmblem — Luz: 70% Style:5 • Motif:8 • Creativity:7 • Description:8 Comments: i really enjoy the description on this one. i also enjoyed the concept of the look but the execution is still a little lackluster for me; the lace neck piece feels very bulky and i would've preferred a string of pearls or otherwise elegant neck adornments. I also find the green of the background a little distracting, but not overwhelming. the story rly helped to sell me the look!
Serena-of-Limonium — Raven: 75% Style:7 • Motif:8 • Creativity:7 • Description:8 Comments: i really like that you went into further research on coquette! it's true that it is a super hot topic but certain elements go throughout those differences and i think you managed to capture that well. the pink, the accessories, the flirty pose; i like it all even though most of her body is covered in one garment. i like the backdrop and i like the colors used! good work!
excites — Serena: 65% Style:8 • Motif:7 • Creativity:7 • Description:4 Comments: i like the direction that was gone in on this look! i like the unique approach + the addition of your own sort of style to it. it looks a cross between dollette & nymphet coquette style and i think that's neat! i want more from the description though! sell me on the look a little more in the future!!
the purple mew — Eunwoo: 45% Style:4 • Motif:4 • Creativity:4 • Description:6 Comments: i'm sad because this has all the elements for a coquette look but together it doesn't read coquette so much. the dark bodice with no other dark piece of clothing besides her hair really puts me off; a white bodice or even a different shade of pink bodice would've done a better job here i think. the bottom half of the garment gives her such a strange silhouette that i'm not a fan of either.
Haji Demon — Raine: 27.5% Style:2 • Motif:4 • Creativity:3 • Description:2 Comments: i really don't have much to say here the purple of the background plus the random shot of blue on the dress and the random purple sandal with the random hot pink hairbow- it is just all over the place for me and the description is lacking. this look is coquette in 'spirit' but not in body.
Princess Warfare — Brandie: 30% Style:5 • Motif:3 • Creativity:3 • Description:1 Comments: this does not read coquette to me either like the pink and ribbons yes, but the over all execution is still lacking- needs earrings needs a necklace. The background is also a miss for me and she kind of blends into it i literally did not see her arms until i stared hard enough at it. also this description is lacking majorly. give me more
Kr-E — Cheska: 95% Style:9 • Motif:9 • Creativity:10 • Description:10 Comments: THIS is what ive been looking for in the entries yes we bickered over the background a little as judges ( not really bickered but still! ) i love it, i love how the pink in the upper right ties into the look but the blue on the left balances it out the gold of the gate gives enough breathing room for you to actually see cheska's entire look and i like what i'm seeing! i love the way the bows in the hair layer so it looks like they're sinking into the texture of her hair. i love the accessories, and i love the pose! this look is nearly perfect in my eyes!!
Detrimentum — Eryn: 60% Style:6 • Motif:6 • Creativity:6 • Description:6 Comments: this look is good! but it's just...good! i don't really have anything groundbreaking to say; this is the entry that i expected to see and i saw it. the pink, the bow, the pose, the flirtatiousness but it doesn't have a depth any further than that for me. a safe look!
BloodAngel95 — Amira:70% Style:7 • Motif:7 • Creativity:7 • Description:7 Comments: this look is a nice change of pace from the other looks in this challenge! i like the vibrant background and the story behind the look. i think the outfit is a little lacking but kind of ties together enough that i don't see the need to doc major points for it. i don't love the colors but i think they do fit amira!
Sleepy Luna Moth — Kiara: 25% Style:1 • Motif:5 • Creativity:2 • Description:2 Comments: this is no longer kiara and as such i dont really find myself able to judge this look properly. from what i can judge; i dont like the background i dont like the brown bodice, i dont like the harsh pink cheeks, and i don't like the choice of coat either, sorry.
Serafiella — Tessa: 90% Style:9 • Motif:9 • Creativity:9 • Description:9 Comments: finally a departure from just the pink dollette/nymphet facets of coquette culture! i love love love that you researched further specifically into black coquette subcultures and i think it paid off. the look is cute and flirty and has plenty of accessories! really really adored this look and the amount if thought that went into making it! i feel your connection with tessa!

Challenge 2 ✧ A Girl Who Flirts Designers! With some pearls, a little lace and some bows we want you to create a beautiful coquette look for your model. Let this link guide you on your journey to bring us an endearing coquette look, but don't forget to make it your own. Give us pearls, lace and bows. Give us coquette.
Sy as in Why ✧ Jaylyn ✧ 66.25%
Style:5 • Motif:6.5 • Creativity:7 • Description:8 Comments: My immediate though with this entry is that the legmod does not layer correctly with the dress(es), which...is sad because it's so off-putting and distracting. My initial thought was why she didn't use a different leg mod, but upon reading the description, I do think the leg mod was the right choice, but I just wish she'd found a skirt/dress that had layered better. The other thing that bothers me (and this is a little more nitpicky) is the little black flower on her bow, as at a quick glance it looks like part of her hair, which makes the bow look awkward. I'm not sold on the frame, but I don't hate it. I also wish their was some more color in her outfit. All that being said, her face looks great paired with that arm mod and I do think it was a good choice of background. The overall styling of the outfit is nice--would just prefer better layering and more color.
FaithEmblem ✧ Luz ✧ 55%
Style:5 • Motif:7.5 • Creativity:7.5 • Description:2 Comments: I'm not sure what happened but the quality of this image is dreadfully awful and it definitely distracted me enough for me to take off points. The other thing that really cost this entry was the description. I just didn't get any "how" or "why" out of it at all. It was really just describing what we all can see in the image already. With that being said, the outfit is cute and I'm glad to see pearls being used. Kinda wish the tree wasn't there so I could see that pink bow in her hair a little better but that's just a tiny nitpick that didn't cost her any points. I just...like the bow and think it's a shame t hat part of it is covered. I like how she added the window to the wall but I think a different wall would have looked better (though I know we don't have a ton of those). This is also a vast improvement on the makeup, which I like to see.
Serena-of-Limonium ✧ Raven ✧ 62.5%
Style:5 • Motif:6 • Creativity:6.5 • Description:7.5 Comments: I like the direction this was taken, especially considering she was the only one to do it--makes it stand out a little from the crowd. I'm not really sold on the execution though. It just doesn't feel cohesive to me. The moon background is also distracting, as it doesn't fit in with the avatar at all. I think a softer night background would have been better.
excites ✧ Serena ✧ 71.25%
Style:6.5 • Motif:7.5 • Creativity:7.5 • Description:7 Comments: Bloomers and up, I really like this look. The black tights and leg warmers don't really fit the rest of the look and I find them far too distracting. I am really happy to see some old English elements to this, as that's something I found sorely lacking in the majority of entries and was the thing I was most looking forward to seeing. Would have liked to see more done with the background and maybe something different on her head as the bows? ribbons? leaves? on the flowers give the impression of tiny pigtails, which make the look lean too much towards child.
the purple mew ✧ Eunwoo ✧ 77.5%
Style:7 • Motif:8 • Creativity:8 • Description:8 Comments: I really like the layering of the skirts on this and the huge bow on her back. The corset was a perfect choice, as was the background. I would have liked to see some pearls on Eunwoo as well, just a touch. I'm also not sold on the hairbows. Definitely think a different bow there would have made this look even better.
Haji Demon ✧ Raine ✧ 45%
Style:3 • Motif:7 • Creativity:5 • Description:3 Comments: This is another miss for me. I do appreciate the layered corsets paired with the skirt--looks really pretty--but the rest of the items feel messy. There's the pale pink and dark blue of the corsets and then the dark pink of the bow and the purple of the feet accessories. And then there's the background. It feels very cluttered and the purple and black curtains don't fit. And the bottom part looks...well, I'm not really sure what's going on with it. It seems like some kind of cutter was used, giving it a really odd shape that I'm not a fan of. I also find the description to be sorely lacking..
Princess Warfare ✧ Brandie ✧ 67.5%
Style:7 • Motif:8 • Creativity:9 • Description:3 Comments: I think this look really needed a black belt to really balance out the black, but I do appreciate that she took the criticism into consideration. I do think this is a cute look, though I don't particularly get witch vibes from it. The side bows on the dress were a great addition and I love the background! The description needs work as I'm not getting a "how" or "why" here beyond the reasoning for the bows and pearls.
Kr-E ✧ Cheska ✧ 71.25%
Style:6.5 • Motif:8 • Creativity:6.5 • Description:7.5 Comments: I'm not convinced that no corset was the way to go but it doesn't look bad without a corset either. Glad to see some more pearls. The bow on the left side of the image looks awkward since it's designed to go behind the head and Cheska's hair is too large for it. I think finding something that was only on the right side would have been a better choice. The background could also use some work. The golden gate reads sunny and the blues in the sky clash with Cheska's outfit, while the flowers at the bottom make the bottom of Cheska's dress blend in too much.
Detrimentum ✧ Eryn ✧ 50%
Style:4 • Motif:8 • Creativity:4 • Description:4 Comments: I am not vibing with this look. Everything is just overly simplified and I don't think it worked here. I hate the leg mod and the dress, at least paired together. The bow on the back looks awkward too, as I didn't even realize it was a bow until I read the description and I thought it was a train or something. On the other hand, the bow on her head is cute, I love the arm pose and the background choice. Also happy to see pearls again.
BloodAngel95 ✧ Amira ✧ 82.5%
Style:8 • Motif:8 • Creativity:9 • Description:8 Comments: I'm not particularly a fan ofthe skirt, as the black feels a little jarring amongst all the soft colors. The layering of the cart on the boardwalk...is bothersome. Besides those two things, however, I really love this look! The cardigan is absolutely adorable and this is the only entry to use purple. I like that the pearls are in the headband instead of just as a necklace/bracelet. I also think the makeup looks lovely and that it was a smart choice to help balance out the blue in the socks with her eyeshadow. Also love the bow earrings!
Sleepy Luna Moth ✧ Kiara ✧ 48.75%
Style:3 • Motif:7.5 • Creativity:8 • Description:3 Comments: This was so close to being a great look for me. The corset and the skirt look fantastic and the arm mod was a great choice. The jacket ruins it for me though. It completely takes away from her silhouette and just looks awkward. Another damaging factor in this look are the bangs. Don't get me wrong, they look cute, but that paired with the ponytail completely changed Kiara's hairstyle. I also am not a fan of the wink as her facial features just make it look stiff, rather than the flirtatious I assume was intended. The description also needs a lot of work, as like with Faith's, there isn't really much of a "how" or "why" given. We get a brief look into the "why" but I mostly just got that she saw a picture and based her look on that. I would have liked to see the picture at least.
Serafiella ✧ Tessa ✧ 73.75%
Style:6.5 • Motif:7.5 • Creativity:7 • Description:8.5 Comments: Yellow was a great choice for this look--it looks great on Tessa and was super creative! I love the texture of the dress and I appreciate the effort put into creating it. Great arm mod use and the leg mod is perfect with the rest of her outfit. I'm glad the bow wasn't removed as I think it's the right accessory for this look. My main gripe is the bows on her dress. They're smooshed together and look very unpleasing. I would have also liked to see more done with the background. There's so many garden/flower items out there.

Challenge #3: Period. Designers! How well do you know your history? This week we want to honor the fashions that have come before us. We want you to give us a period piece. You can choose the era, the period, but be mindful that we should be able to tell it is a period piece. If you choose an era that is too recent... How literal or abstract you go is up to you. Do you want to design a traditional outfit, or pick and choose pieces of the era to give us something original? Go for it. Make us scream with passion for your fashion. Due Date: Aug. 24
FaithEmblem — Luz = 75% (Total Score: 30) Style:6.5 • Creativity:8 • Motif:6.5 • Description:9 Comments: I'm 50/50 on this entry. I get the hints of the chosen period, and I like the fashion element that the outfit gives, as well as the color choice. But, I can't get behind the background choice. I get that she's on a World War setting, but reading through the description, her outfit doesn't match the scenery. She looks too clean to be near piles of rubble. Remove the background, and I would've liked the outfit better, with the color choices, this entry reminds me of that Uncle Sam poster. I mean that positively. All in all, a fashionable outfit, with a not-so-great background choice.
Serena-of-Limonium — Raven = 82.5%(Total Score: 33) Style:7.5 • Creativity:8 • Motif:8.5 • Description:9 Comments: I love that Serena chose a "French Rococo" inspiration for the 1920s. Her entry reads classic beauty and old money to a T. It's gorgeous. Similar to Sera's, this outfit does fall under being inspired by their chosen period, just a tad, but that doesn't take away much of how classy this entry is. It almost reads "flapper", which is still 1920s, with the headpiece. The B&W outfit screams elegance, and it looks stunning on Raven. I'm not so into how the skirt lays on the sofa, though. Up close, Raven's pose on the sofa looks awkward. That aside, this is elegant.
excites — Serena = 67.5% (Total Score: 27) Style:6 • Creativity:8 • Motif:6 • Description:7 Comments: For how exciting the period excites has chosen, their entry doesn't give me that excitement the 1950s offer. The setting feels empty for a disco night. The entry needs more life into it. That aside, Serena's outfit is rather cute. Simple, understated, and reads well with the chosen period. However, I'm sad on how dull the entry is, for it to have such an exciting motif.
the purple mew — Eunwoo = 73.75% (Total Score: 29.5) Style:6.5 • Creativity:7 • Motif:8 • Description:8 Comments: This entry reads rockabilly to a T. It's clean and chic, which is always nice to see. I respond positively to this outfit on Eunwoo. She looks so cute, and the background reads well with the chosen period. However, something about this entry is lacking that finishing touch, but I can't pinpoint exactly what's missing from the entry. Maybe a partner for Eunwoo? Or more life into the background choices? I'm not sure. Regardless, this is a well-done safe entry.
Haji Demon — Raine = 72.5% (Total Score: 29) Style:5.5 • Creativity:7.5 • Motif:8 • Description:8 Comments: Style-wise, I love the dress. The entire ensemble reads "old-timey dress that someone's grandma had in her youth", in a positive way. The background looks pretty as well. There are choices that I wish I knew the purpose of it. The cow and the scar/dirt(?) on Raine's face. I can get behind the cow, seeing as the background's on a countryside setting, but that cow specifically, scares me. Also, what's on Raine's face, and what does it bring to the look? Unexplained choices aside, this is rather solidly quaint.
Princess Warfare — Brandie = 77.5% (Total Score: 31) Style:7.5 • Creativity:8 • Motif:7.5 • Description:8 Comments: I am into the ball setting of this entry. Brandie looks elegant in red. The styling choices on her outfit is stunning. The background makes sense with the chosen period. However, with how festive and grand Mardi Gras is portrayed, I was expecting this entry to be just as exciting as the occasion, and this entry's only halfway there. Similar notes with mew on "finishing touches", it would've been nice to see something added to amp the festive feel more.
Kr-E — Cheska = 73.75% (Total Score: 29.5) Style:7 • Creativity:7.5 • Motif:7 • Description:8 Comments: The background choices are standing out to me. The oasis-like setting is nice to see with the period chosen. Cheska looks beautiful in this Egyptian garb. She's almost giving me a touch of Cleopatra. The look or the background could've used a touch more gold, personally. This is a rather solid period. Nothing mind-blowing, but nothing lacking either.
Detrimentum — Eryn = 87.5% (Total Score: 35) Style:8 • Creativity:8 • Motif:10 • Description:9 Comments: This is a great entry from Detri. I love the reference she chose for this. It's giving very old-timey photo of a woman having her picture taken back in the day. The filter is just the cherry on top of the illusion. The outfit makes sense, given the reference to the "revolution wore black". It's always nice to see fashion being used as a message without it being on the nose, and this outfit hits that spot for me. Very patriotic, very powerful, very effective.
BloodAngel95 — Amira = 97.5% (Total Score: 39) Style:10 • Creativity:10 • Motif:10 • Description:9 Comments: This era could not be more fitting for Amira. She fits the Victorian period so well, and Angel snapped with her model this week. Amira looks stunningly gorgeous. The layers of poof on the skirt are what's sold me on this outfit. It reads Victorian dress 100%. The blue color scheme works perfectly with Amira. The background choice works well with the chosen period. The bonnet looks so good on Amira, and the hints of pink, with the flowers on the hair and the corset, added that extra touch to the look, which I'm responding very positively to. Overall, this is one of my favorites from Angel, if not, my favorite.
Serafiella — Tessa = 82.5% (Total Score: 33) Style:7.5 • Creativity:8 • Motif:8.5 • Description:9 Comments: I commend Sera for nailing her Tessa's makeup. She knows how to work around her model's features, and I'm amazed. The outfit is no less, as well. Tessa looks groovy and stylish. The variations of blues, yellows, and reds work great with Tessa. The outfit reads a tad more inspired by the 1970s, as opposed to being a 1970s outfit. but I'm still into it. The background adds a touch of fun to the look and ties well with the chosen period. This is another great entry from Sera.

FaithEmblem — Luz: 70% Style:7 • Motif:7 • Creativity:7 • Description:7 Comments: Okay. Okay. This is clearly Americana inspired and has clear vibes of..things. But it is just vibes. Just inspiration mashed up. I'm sure this woman walked down the street in America at some point, but I just don't think it was the 1940s. There are a few too many details that just don't line up for me. Pants were worn at times, but not in this style, and not often. They were worn to work. This sailor look is cute, but it isn't from the time. Even some of the reference photos are from other times. I just...have mixed feelings. Some of the problem is the hair. This hair isn't suiting the time or outfit really, and I wish Faith had worked with it a bit more. Best I've seen the make up so far. Like this look is fine. Perfectly fine.
Serena-of-Limonium — Raven: 72.5% Style:6 • Motif:6 • Creativity:8 • Description:9 Comments: I feel like I can tell this look came together in under an hour. It isn't...terrible by any means. But I'm just underwhelmed. The black stole covers up too much, and paired with the bright white skirt just looks disjointed over all. Something needed to break that up. I also don't like whatever white flora/fauna is on the left side, I feel like it competes too much with the shine of the headdress. Also looks more like Raven is just floating than like she is lounging on a chaise. Some of the entries this week I just like more and more as I look, and this has the opposite impact. Great description though.
excites — Serena: 61.25% Style:6 • Motif:5 • Creativity:6.5 • Description:7 Comments: I'm not excited by this. Like at all. This is so wildly beyond underwhelming. She chose a roller skating disco, and this is all she could give? This is all the color? The energy? The life? I'm dead inside. The idea is great, good inspiration, the execution just falls so flat. I'm also not super sure exactly which era she is aiming for. Shorts are a little too short. But there is so much that could be done to improve. Mostly I just don't think this fits Serena and her features. She isn't a happy enough model for this theme.
the purple mew — Eunwoo: 70% Style:7 • Motif:6 • Creativity:8 • Description:7 Comments: She darkened the lips/changed their color which we've discussed in the past toes the line of changing the base features too much. Way too much blush, and I don't really like the wink. Even though I get why the wink and what the goal is, blah blah blah, it doesn't feel natural and just feels like it is fighting against Eunwoo's features rather than embracing or incorporating. The polka dot bow was great, the shorts are too short. This is clearly rockabilly inspired but it doesn't feel like it is actually from the time period. And maybe that's just gonna be a thing. I guess the description of the challenge is ambiguous. But I prefer the looks to feel like they are actually part of the time period. I think from the description there was more of an aim to be actually from the time period though, so it loses things for me.
Haji Demon — Raine: 75% Style:7 • Motif:8 • Creativity:8 • Description:7 Comments: I'm not sure why the cow is behind her casually on the street, versus in a field. That would make more sense with the story and everything else. There's something odd about the pose/Raine's legs. Something about the legs and calf legs and the flowers, and flow of the skirt. It's playing with my eyes and almost looks like Rain is kind of sitting but also not? It's just kind of weird. The hat is also just a little too light? Either it needs to match the dress, or be a separate color entirely. I'm also realizing we can't see any hands, which seems odd. The scars also just look like mud and don't add to things the way Haji hoped they would. And all those little things with the background and scar bum me out, because they are just fluff. They don't need to be added in. And they distract from an otherwise good look.
Princess Warfare — Brandie: 80% Style:8 • Motif:8 • Creativity:8 • Description:8 Comments: I love the bacchanal idea and theme, Princess had a firm theme that went beyond the time period, and I love that. It adds so much depth to the look. And I love the work that went into the corset. Like damn girl! Way to create something stunning. I'm even okay with adding onto the mouth, because it works, and doesn't change it significantly. I think my only complaint is that there are three different draped or flowing fabrics. The dress, the curtains, and the fabric on the table. And they are all different colors. I was fine with the dress and the curtains, they compliment without being a perfect match, just adds some dimension. But the problem is the purple on the table. It just stands out too much for me. I think if the dress was green I'd have been more okay than keeping it in the same color family. But I love this. Love the pose. Good description too.
Kr-E — Cheska: 67.5% Style:7 • Motif:6 • Creativity:9 • Description:5 Comments: First off, big props to Kr-E for going for an ancient option. This was clearly ancient Egypt, and I appreciate that. The background is a little whimsical for me, but it is very pleasant. I like the make up, and the general outfit, though it feels like something is missing. Like there is a panel of robe missing. This feels less like a garment and more like a blanket just wrapped around and sealed with a belt. And where Kr-E did a great job of putting bows in the hair last week, I don't feel like the crown layers as well this week. I would have also liked more about the look and the building of it from the description.
Detrimentum — Eryn: 92.5% Style:10 • Motif:9 • Creativity:10 • Description:8 Comments: I have a bit of a personal vendetta against filters. They can be so good, and can add so much to a look. Dimension and depth, vibes, whatever. And this filter absolutely meets the goal of enhancement. It sells the setting and the time, looked like an old timey photo. But at the same time it does distort things a little. I wish there was a submission with the filter over everything to have the full vibe, and a submission without the filter so we could appreciate all the details without interruption. That being said! This is a fantastic look. I love the details in the description, would like a little bit more about the outfit itself, but I can't really nitpick. The makeup is perfect. The details like the cross necklace? I love it. The dress is immaculately constructed. The more I look at this, the more I love it.
BloodAngel95 — Amira: 92.5% Style:10 • Motif:9 • Creativity:9 • Description:9 Comments: I am so proud of Angel for this look. The arm is a little discolored/just shaded differently and stands out more as a result than I would ideally like, but that is really a nit picky thing. This look is near perfectly in line with what one would expect to see in the era. I like the fun slang used in the description. There is something on the chair over her shoulder that kind of looks like it has a face, is it some dog or just a trick of things? Don't love it either way. But yeah, this is an excellent look. Like above and beyond anything I expected to see.
Serafiella — Tessa: 76.25% Style:7 • Motif:8 • Creativity:7.5 • Description:8 Comments: I like this, but I think there could be more. It's a little too...I'm not sure the right words. It is a costume, not a genuine look from the era. Which is fine. But I've stated where I stand on the divide in this challenge. Some of the scale of things is off in this look and that throws me off a bit, I also feel like even for a costume, it is too much a blend of things and I'd much rather see it as just one era or another. There needs to be large headphones, or only headphones and no headband. Something to keep clear what element is what, and where it all connects and things. Like, I like this! I just feel like I could have loved it. And I don't love it. The more I look, the more I feel like I did about Faith's. But I do suppose I prefer this one. Has more over all vibe I like.

FaithEmblem ✧ Luz ✧ 70%
Style:7.5 • Motif:8 • Creativity:5 • Description:7.5 Comments: I don't have particularly strong feelings about this look. It's fine, not bad, just fine. I think she did a good job matching her look to some of the ref pics, but I'm not quite satisfied. I guess I wish she were doing something other than just standing there to give a little life to the image. I also wish more had been done with the background. Add a little grit to the image to really sell the desolation.
Serena-of-Limonium ✧ Raven ✧ 73.75%
Style:5 • Motif:8.5 • Creativity:7.5 • Description:8.5 Comments: The first thing I noticed when I looked at this was the unfortunate layering of Raven's dress with the chaise lounge. Her dress sticks out the most, so it's where my eyes immediately went. I am also not a fan of the arm mod; they don't really feel like they belong and also blend in too much. Her hair is also on the verge of blending in too much. Might have been better if the flowers on the left weren't there, so you could see more. I do like that this isn't a flapper look, though, and I like the headpiece a lot. Besides the sleeves, the rest of her outfit also looks nice, I just wish it layered correctly with her seat.
excites ✧ Serena ✧ 65%
Style:7.5 • Motif:5.5 • Creativity:8 • Description:5 Comments: I like the idea of this and I do think it was creative; I also like the fact that she focused on the skin color of her model when coming up with this idea. Her outfit looks cute, but also feels really simple. I'm put off by the fact this isn't a specific time period, but covering a 30 year period. The description is also lacking a lot.
the purple mew ✧ Eunwoo ✧ 76.25%
Style:6.5 • Motif:8 • Creativity:7.5 • Description:8.5 Comments: The overall outfit looks cute and definitely gets the idea across (I do question those shorts, though. I just couldn't find anything that looked like that at all in my own research). I think the corset was perfect for this look and I really like the polka dot bow. I am put off by the inconsistency between how thin the corset makes her and how wide the leg mod is, as it leaves a section of shorts that's not connected to anything. I'm also not a fan of the red heels. Despite the red on her head, the heels feel like they stick out and don't balance with anything. For her face, I think there's too much blush and I hate the wink; the style of the winking eye looks too cartoonish and doesn't match her other eye at all.
Haji Demon ✧ Raine ✧ 66.25%
Style:5 • Motif:7.5 • Creativity:7.5 • Description:6.5 Comments: I am glad Haji decided against using a filter and left it with the bright colors because I do think that fits the look better. I also appreciate him going outside reality and adding a little anime into the look. I like the pairing of the arm mod with the skirt, but her hands have disappeared in the process. Not a fan of the scars or the random colors throughout. I also think the leaves should have been left out as they cover part of the cow's face, making it look kind of demented. Despite all this, though, this is definitely Haji's strongest look this cycle.
Princess Warfare ✧ Brandie ✧ 75%
Style:6.5 • Motif:8 • Creativity:8 • Description:7.5 Comments: I absolutely love how the corset was built here. It turnedit fantastic! The idea that was used here was also really nice and creative. The red sleeves that were used don't layer right with the arms and I'm also not a fan of the purple on the table paired with the red of Brandie's dress. And I just really hate the bottom of that dress. I really wished something else was used instead.
Kr-E ✧ Cheska ✧ 63.75%
Style:6 • Motif:10 • Creativity:4.5 • Description:5 Comments: I love love LOVE the ancient Egyptian route. Unfortunately, this look just doesn't do it for me. The multiple uses of Anuket's Palace (in addition to using a pose from Gift of the Goddess AND Gift of the Gods) is really disappointing. The circlet looks awkward with her hair and that skirt just isn't sitting right with me, though I do appreciate using something outside of the grain to create part of the outfit. The color of the background also just doesn't feel right, like it just doesn't look natural, probably because the lighting between the model and bg are drastically different.
Detrimentum ✧ Eryn ✧ 83.75%
Style:8.5 • Motif:9.5 • Creativity:8 • Description:7.5 Comments: I really like this look, Eryn looks so poised and pretty! I also really l like the old photo look you went for, though some details get a little muddied, but I can forgive that. My only real complaint about this look is that Eryn's posing is a little awkward due to the layering of the arms with the skirt. And she's got little bits of stuff in her hair that I'm not sure what it is. Overall, though, I'm super vibing with this!
BloodAngel95 ✧ Amira ✧ 82.5%
Style:7 • Motif:8.5 • Creativity:9 • Description:7.5 Comments: This was another fun period piece that I really enjoyed. I love the combination of the soft blues and pinks and her posing is really cute. The bonnet was perfect for this look! I am, however, not a fan of the green in her outfit; it feels very out of place, and I just find it really distracting. The table in the background also makes the look feel a little too crowded.
Serafiella ✧ Tessa ✧ 77.5%
Style:7.5 • Motif:8.5 • Creativity:7 • Description:8 Comments: This is such a cute, bold look and I love the amount of research that went into finding the right piece for every section. The makeup is fun, but it does make me wish there was a little bit of purple somewhere else in her outfit. The description mentions keeping her midriff bare, but I'll be honest, I see no skin there, so I kinda wish the belt had been left off. My only other complain is I'm just not a fan of the lipstick, but that's just a small gripe on my end.

Sy as in Why — Jaylyn: 0% Style:0 • Motif:0 • Creativity:0 • Description:0 Comments: NA
FaithEmblem — Luz: 77.5% Style:9 • Motif:8 • Creativity:7 • Description:7 Comments: i really love this look! i love that i know exactly where this is from when first looking at it! it conjures up a bit of nostalgia as well for some reason, but also makes me really want to play bioshock! all in all i really love this! luz is giving me serious lana del rey vibes from this.
Serena-of-Limonium — Raven: 85% Style:10 • Motif:9 • Creativity:7 • Description:8 Comments: ohhh i love the vibes on this right away! it really does give the dame-owner of a speakeasy vibe! she looks like she's sitting in the back, sipping her cocktail and smoking from her drag cigarette holder, watching her patrons mingle! i can practically hear the big band swing in the background! i also love the background a lot!!!
excites — Serena: 57.5% Style:6 • Motif:5 • Creativity:6 • Description:6 Comments: i like this look but it could've given me more- this also feels more modern to me than it does any other era unfortunately! i also really wish there was even more to the description honestly! i cant complain about this look but i just wish it had given more!
the purple mew — Eunwoo: 85% Style:8 • Motif:9 • Creativity:9 • Description:8 Comments: i loooooove this look; i get the vibe right away and i love the background elements as well. the outfit is cute and showcases the proper era perfectly! another pose i really like as well! the only complaint i really have is that i think the blush on the face may be just a touch too widespread- it looks a bit more like a sunburn than it does a healthy blush.
Haji Demon — Raine: 37.5% Style:4 • Motif:4 • Creativity:4 • Description:3 Comments: i would've loved more explanation about the scars on her face, honestly! also...the cow is...very scary. the face is haunting me. that aside i just can't get behind the different range of colors on the outfit, they don't really cohere for me sadly.
Princess Warfare — Brandie: 70% Style:8 • Motif:7 • Creativity:6 • Description:7 Comments: i really like this take on this challenge! and hey what can i say i can't say no to a sinner's ball! i love the flow of the outfit, and i really love the vibe that the whole thing is giving me. i can practically hear the eyes wide shut choir chanting in the background ominously.
Kr-E — Cheska: 75% Style:6 • Motif:9 • Creativity:7 • Description:8 Comments: i really like this look but i wish there'd been more item variety! the visual is perfect and i like that a more ancient period was chosen and i think its represented well!
Detrimentum — Eryn: 95% Style:9 • Motif:10 • Creativity:10 • Description:9 Comments: this idea is so insanely cool and it was executed perfectly! i love the filter, i love the ambiance, and i love the outfit! you took my call for pose seriously! the pose is perfect for what you've chosen and it doesn't cover up any major parts of the outfit! i can still see the torso, and the sleeves and it's just mwah!!
BloodAngel95 — Amira: 67.5% Style:6 • Motif:8 • Creativity:6 • Description:7 Comments: this is so pretty!! i wish the under skirt wasn't distracting me so much honestly! the rest of the outfit is really nice and i like that it stands out from the background behind it but doesn't overshadow it completely! the green of the skirt under plus the way it doesnt follow the ruffle flow all that much catches my eye but honestly it can be forgiven!!
Serafiella — Tessa: 67.5% Style:7 • Motif:6 • Creativity:8 • Description:6 Comments: i like the concept for this a lot! i wish there'd been a few tweaks here and there but nothing so severe that i'd dock too many points, really. the outfit goes together well and i completely get the era this is coming from! i wish the shirt maybe was a bit more vibrant, or maybe the background could've been a different color? i like the pose a lot though! its giving editorial!

Orange is the New Black Designers, Orange is the New Black might be a hit show but we judges certainly feel like that isn't the truth when it comes to the rules of fashion. Do you also hate orange? Do you agree it's the most stressful of colors to work with? We judges are challenging you to push past those misgivings and give us a look that embraces orange! It must primarily consist of orange, but beyond that, the only limits are the ones you give yourselves. Make us believe that orange truly is the new black!
FaithEmblem — Luz: 70% Style:6 • Motif:8 • Creativity:7 • Description:7 Comments: Faith nailed it on the challenge of orange. This is an orange look but it is also dynamic in a way that is very pleasing. Different shades are used smartly and they are also refreshing oranges. That said something about it feels too simple. Maybe it's the background that is empty yet emphasized? Image quality? I don't feel all the glitter vibe. I like the outfit from the neck down. It's fine.
Serena-of-Limonium — Raven: 50% Style:3 • Motif:6 • Creativity:6 • Description:5 Comments: I don't like this. At all. I guess orange is the primary color but there is so much that isn't orange. I get what Serena was going for and it was smart to first and foremost want to work with that Raven's red hair. But it just doesn't work. All the different scarves and floating things? Raven floating above water? Her legs are to the side but I only know that because I know the item, but they just look like they've disappeared as a result of things. And the things that Serena pointed out liking in the items and color gradients..I just can't see them.
excites — Serena: 71.25% Style:7.5 • Motif:8 • Creativity:8 • Description:5 Comments: There is not a damn doubt what the challenge was for this look, thank god I can so easily and readily see that it is orange. That description gives me almost nothing. While this is beautiful, it does blend a little too much. I know that was partially due to the Starry Night inspo and I actually really like the make up/face effect going on, but the hair stands out jarringly as a result and it is the only thing that pops. I wish there had been a way to cut the background so the rays didn't extend past the water color effect. Very tired of that star ray in general, been there done that.
the purple mew — Eunwoo: 48.75% Style:7 • Motif:0 • Creativity:6 • Description:6.5 Comments: This is the orange challenge and I don't even think I can say that orange is an accent color. Motif is absolutely not met, I don't think I've ever given a zero in a category before. The over all look is pretty good, and I get the moth, but it just could have been pushed so much farther. Could have been amped up both in the moth department and orange one. I want more from everything. More fiery background so Eunwoo pops more. More orange. More moth. I also don't like the pants under the skirt effect? Don't get it. I know Mew has been busy and had a hard time this challenge but man. Not good.
Haji Demon — Raine: 60% Style:5 • Motif:7 • Creativity:6 • Description:6 Comments: I don't like the make up darkening the eyes, it adds nothing. I don't like the green in the hair. Side note I feel like I'm always negative on Haji and I'm sorry, I really do like them. I love that some bold orange was embraced. I like the eyes a little more after reading the description, they do kind of glow. Description was still a little odd though. I don't like how the dark hair blends with the red orange, all I can see is that is draws attention right where no woman - real or digital - wants to be stared at.
Princess Warfare — Brandie: 73.75% Style:9 • Motif:6 • Creativity:7 • Description:7.5 Comments: The title for her entry is very appropriate. It is extremely autumnal. And I love it. Brandie looks great and the background suits things so well. Very aesthetic and pleasing, well layered and used, and I do like that Princess used colors to make the orange pop more rather than just more layers of orange. This is dynamic as a result instead of falling flat. I think there could be more orange? After all this is the orange challenge and I don't immediately see that when I look at this. Which kills me. But I think this entry is very strong aside from that.
Kr-E — Cheska: 55% Style:5 • Motif:5 • Creativity:6 • Description:6 Comments: See while I like having other colors to offset the orange and make it pop, this is almost too much. I don't see that this is for an orange challenge when I look at it. That description leaves a lot to be desire. Honestly this is just not it for me. I love the concept and just think it could have been pushed more. Too much of the orange reads more yellow, and when there is so little to choose, what is there has to pop. I don't love the make up/face jewels. I have a very hard time seeing the various layers of the outfit, figuring out what goes where. Just disappointing.
Detrimentum — Eryn: 80% Style:8 • Motif:8 • Creativity:8 • Description:8 Comments: I don't really like this make up either. It weighs Eryn down, and when she already has a kind of droopy expression, it really has an effect. And if the goal is magical girl...it just doesn't work. That aside I do really like this look. I see the orange, but I wish that there had either been a bolder pop of orange somewhere or that there was an opposite color in the background to offset the orange more. As it is I just feel like Eryn blends in more than I would like. This was creative though, and is by no means a bad look.
BloodAngel95 — Amira: 70% Style:9 • Motif:3 • Creativity:8 • Description:8 Comments: Amira looks stunning. Bird of Paradise is a great starting point for an orange look. But this fails both in being an orange look, and in representing the bird of paradise. I just don't see either one really. Like is comes close, but it just doesn't nail it in any category. But it is creative, it looks great, and the description is strong. The more I look the more small details I see and appreciate, but it just doesn't really meet the challenge for me. Orange is not my first thought when I see this.
Serafiella — Tessa: 78.75% Style:6 • Motif:6.5 • Creativity:9 • Description:10 Comments: New Orleans Processional?! God what a genius idea! In a million years I never would have thought of that for this challenge, Sera killed it in the creativity department this time. And the description is absolutely everything I ever want from one. I don't immediately see this as an orange challenge when looking at this though which cost her some motif points, but not too terrible. I love all the little details and accessories to the outfit. HOWEVER...this look is suffering from a severe case of floating head syndrome. And the purple pink that is used here and there gives an almost circus feel. So the idea was perfect, and it was allllllmost there.

Challenge #4: Orange is the New Black Description: Designers, Orange is the New Black might be a hit show but we judges certainly feel like that isn't the truth when it comes to the rules of fashion.
FaithEmblem — Luz = 72.5% (Total Score: 29) Style:7 • Creativity:7 • Motif:7 • Description:8 Comments: This orange look suits Luz so much. The color scheme works great with her features. The outfit itself feels regal, with a touch of fairycore. Luz's pose works great with the garment. I can't say for sure if it's glittery, as advertised, but I blame the image quality for that. This might be the best entry Faith has sent us yet, but comparing this entry to everyone else's, this is a solidly well-done entry. As it is, it's a good entry, but not great comparing it to the other entries.
Serena-of-Limonium — Raven = 85%(Total Score: 34) Style:8 • Creativity:8 • Motif:9 • Description:9 Comments: For an entry based on sunburst, this is a cool entry. I love the varying sashes and smokes in varying oranges and reds give this feel of a sunburst, as advertised, which is nice to see. What's selling this look for me is the balance of colors. Orange is already such a tedious color to work with, personally, but Serena nailed the right ratio of red and orange, where there's enough red to highlight Serena's features. The outfit could've benefited more from a better leg mod choice, but that aside, I'm in love with this entry from Serena.
excites — Serena = 57.5% (Total Score: 23) Style:5 • Creativity:6 • Motif:7 • Description:5 Comments: Serena's face paint is overkill and makes her features stick out. The outfit is solid, but not exciting. The sunset concept reads well, so the face paint is unnecessary. I find the lack of accessories, especially on the head to be a bit of a bother too. I'm also not too sold on this entry being a variant to her "Starry Night" entry, seeing as their first entry was better than this one. Overall, the entry just lacks excitement and life. It's in the middle of the road for me.
the purple mew — Eunwoo = 53.75% (Total Score: 21.5) Style:3.5 • Creativity:6 • Motif:4 • Description:8 Comments: Knowing mew's busy with college just adds onto the fact that this entry is rushed. It looks and feels rushed. But, I do love where this entry's going. I love the regalness the outfit exudes and the background choice is pretty. As for the actual outfit, it looks cluttered. And, similar notes as Princess, this reads more black than it does orange. The only thing that's giving enough orange is the background, the outfit reads more red and black. If mew invested more time into her entry, I would've loved to see this entry be redone and/or polished, but nothing we can do about it now.
Haji Demon — Raine = 60% (Total Score: 24) Style:5 • Creativity:6 • Motif:5 • Description:8 Comments: Hmm... I barely see this as being part kitsune. This looks more like just a fairy outfit. The long sleeves and the tail that we can barely see doesn't cut it as kitsune. Where's the kitsune ears? Why the flowers in that light green shade amidst the dark green plants? I like the pieces that makes the ensemble, but not all of the pieces together. Overall, conceptually and aesthetically, it's all over the place. What saved this look for me is the make-up choices and the shades of orange that looks beautiful on Raine.
Princess Warfare — Brandie = 55% (Total Score: 22) Style:5 • Creativity:4 • Motif:4 • Description:9 Comments: For what it is, it's a cute look, but as an entry for the orange challenge, it reads more red than it does orange. It could pass as "blood orange", but the color is barely reading orange. As for the outfit, I love the volume of the skirt, and how Brandie's posing with it. It's playful and lively. I love the background choices, except for the colors of it. The same goes for the corset and shoes. It's an orange challenge, give me more orange. Though I'll say this, that shade of red does look good with the orange. Just wishing that there's more orange than red.
Kr-E — Cheska = 87.5% (Total Score: 35) Style:8 • Creativity:9 • Motif:9 • Description:9 Comments: This is one of the more conceptual looks we've gotten out of the bunch. Cheska looks great as an illusionist. The main selling point for me of this entry is the lighting and background choice. It looks like Cheska's performing in a theatre, with stage lights and effects that adds so much to the illusion. The outfit itself is pretty solid. It reads well as an outfit fit for an illusionist. I would advise Kr-E to send only the best views of their creation from now on. The back views are killing the ensemble. I prefer the front angles. That aside, job well done on Kr-E's part.
Detrimentum — Eryn = 95% (Total Score: 38 pts.) Style:10 • Creativity:9 • Motif:10 • Description:9 Comments: This entry from Detri is maybe the most peak entry we've gotten all cycle so far. The magical girl concept reads well, and the execution of it is perfection. This outfit is giving very much Sailor Moon, meets Madoka, meets Star Vs. The Forces of Evil in orange, and I am LIVING!!! Eryn looks absolutely stunning. The poppy orange looks gorgeous on Eryn. If I'm forced to say anything remotely negative about this is that I wish there were bows. Bows on the head or outfit, as they're essential to the chosen concept, but even so, I don't mind the lack of bows. Detri's done it again. Constantly raising the bar.
BloodAngel95 — Amira = 82.5% (Total Score: 33) Style:10 • Creativity:10 • Motif:3 • Description:10 Comments: Might I argue that this is probably one of the most stunning entries Angel has given us this cycle so far. And, dare I say it, the most stunning entry out of the bunch in the challenge. The reference pictures match the entry perfectly. Amira looks like a blooming flower. The entire entry is so beautiful to look at. The only negative thing I can say about it is that it's not enough orange to be considered an orange entry. Therefore, it's not hitting this challenge's objectives. The execution, and how it looks is breathtaking, but it's just not enough orange to meet the criteria.
Serafiella — Tessa = 70% (Total Score: 28 pts.) Style:6 • Creativity:8 • Motif:7 • Description:7 Comments: The silhouette and concept of the outfit is pretty. I like this funereal aesthetic in orange. It's giving me My Fair Lady, meets Mary Poppins meets renaissance. I love the background, full of that greenery. My main issue lies in the varying colors of the pieces that makes the outfit. I see different shades of orange in every item I see, which I do not enjoy. And that random hot pink color on the tights, too. Had the orange been more the same color, it would've helped pull me into the vision more.
