"Whisky! Oh no, I'm in trouble..." Ny exclaimed, taking the glass from Yuki with a slight grimace. She had never had good experiences with whisky before, but she was damned if she was going to chicken out in front of Rem and Yuki now. "Well, bottoms up, I guess!" She tipped back her head and tossed down the shot in one. The whisky burned like fire down her throat and the girl coughed slightly. "S-So good...thanks" She managed to cough out, eyes watering a little. At least it warms the bones... Ny thought, setting the glass aside and wandering over to plonk herself onto a large but slightly precarious beam. She took a quick swig of her beer, hoping to chase away the burning a little.
It was interesting for her to note Rem's obvious disapproval of the Galbadian performance, and she also noticed how the lively Yuki seemed to withdraw and go quiet at the mention of it too. A sore topic, it would seem. She nodded at Rem but left the subject alone as they moved onto the topic of flying instead.
Ny couldn't help her pleased expression at their comments, allowing herself a smug smile. She had always enjoyed the awe and adoration of others, it was an ego boost like nothing else.
"Mmm it has its uses" She said, making an effort to appear casual and unfazed. Taking another sip of beer, the girl noted the warm fuzziness of the whisky starting to take effect. "I think you would be a rare person to wish to be a Sorceress, though. It often brings more trouble than anyone needs..." She added, thinking back to Xaris.
"Anyway, enough about me! I want to hear more about you guys. What was it like growing up in UNITA for you, Rem? Do you want to stay here and follow your mom's footsteps?" Nyale inquired. "And Yuki, how did living here compare to Trabia?" Her amber eyes were alight with curiosity, glancing between the two girls. It was interesting to her that they had similar backgrounds, all growing up with such influential parents, but no doubt having different experiences. Her parents had a very relaxed attitude to child-rearing, but Nyale wasn't sure the same was true for Nona and Koyuki. Trabia, for one thing, was not known for being a chilled out place to live. Which made it all the more interesting that Yuki was such a firecracker.

Cosmic Magic Shooter"NO GAH DAMMIT, SO CLOSE." The shout came with a bit of an odd accent, a few locale residents turning while they partook in the games and festivities of the evening. The ring had bounced around the bottles and refused to clang onto the actual damn lid of the thing and it was his TENTH TIME trying it. The man in question, pink hair pouring out of a cap even in on the nice day that it was, was clenching his fists in fury and his glaring at the game that was before him. I JUST WANT A PET GOLDFISH! The little fish taunted him as it swam, along with its brethren, in accompanying little bowls around the game. "I was gon' name ya' Bartholomew." The pink haired monolith of a man got to his knees and moaned his plight. His mind flourished with irridescent colors as something inside him vibrated at his childish emotion, Eren Kyng rolling his eyes as he slowly came to stand and glowed at the little floating fish. He had never had a pet, aside from the Guardian Force that communicated through colors and waves of its own emotions, and the little Goldfish would have been a perfect companion for a man in space. A fish in space, the final frontier for a guppy. But alas, it was not his day. Accuracy and luck were not his forte. He was a man of lout and aggressive explosions and fiery wrath in fashionable ways, and perhaps he had just been pushing his luck continuously trying to get that fish. Generally, he was just a big, stubborn b*****d. Slowly he sauntered over towards the next game on his mind, his heart still longing to bring little baby boy Bartholomew back home to the Esthar Space Station with him. His hands still gripped tightly as he walked over towards the tower game, the hammers in selection. Luckily, Eren had no shortage of cash and no shortage of pent up aggression as he grasped the giant hammer and swung it. DING. The bell being dented on the result of his swing was only part of the payoff, his irritated frown only slowly turning into a half a smirk. The attendant shuffled over, looking surprised and slightly timid at the man with a hammer, who after the fact dropped said hammer, and asked the age old question. "Congratulations sir, what prize would you like?"The smirk turned into a s**t eating grin. "Gimme da big stuffed goldfish." It was bigger than Eren, and it brought a tear to his damn eye. What next? Rem Estellise La Faustina Nipal
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nyale’s answer had Rem looking distant. Thoughtful. The girl’s status as a sorceress was public knowledge, considering how public she was with her powers. No one had been terribly surprised, considering she was born of two sorcerers! She shook out of her distraction at the woman’s address, however.
”What’s it like…” she echoed the question. She’d only ever grown up in one place! But then, that wasn’t perfectly true, was it?
”I still remember when I was younger,” she said, ”and I could wake up with a totally different horizon.” Eden City didn’t need to move nearly as often now, but back in the days after the Lunar Cry, monster attacks were frequent and serious enough that the city sometimes had to migrate around them.
”It didn’t always look like this. Eden City was designed to be a Garden, but it was lifeless back then.” She shifted her spot to gaze back out at the city, all lit up in the night. ”All dull metal and concrete. The house we live in was still this dingy old military building. But one morning, mom brought me outside. I remember her taking me to the side of the house, where she had this long crate full of dirt. But that morning, it had flowers. Little white blossoms poking up out of the soil.”
Her smile drifted back to her face.
”The first flowers to bloom in Eden City.”
She savored the thought a long moment, then toasted it with a good swig of liquor.
”Unita is her life’s work. I want to make her dream real,” she confirmed with a self-sure nod. ”I’ll build my experience and connections as an ambassador. See the world, meet people, learn everything I can. Once I’ve had enough of travel, I’ll cycle through administrative positions here. Engineering, agriculture, adjudication.” She rattled them off like a kid naming their favorite chocobo racers. “At twenty-eight, I’ll run for a position as minister. Probably Foreign Affairs. By the time my mother steps down, I’ll be ready.”
—
Few times in Kalen’s life had Nona Nipal ever looked stunned. She blinked one whiskey-brown eye up at him, before a bark of a laugh escaped her.
”That’s…Kal, that’s wonderful!” she declared, dropping her improvised conductor’s wand in order to reach up and squeeze his shoulders. Even rarer than looks of shock were Nona Nipal’s truest smiles. ”Everyone’s going to be thrilled! Do you want me to get ahold of them? All the kids are out and about at the fair, but they’d want to know.” Insistence trailed off into a gentler suggestion. Kal’s comings and goings had been…rough, at times, and Nona realized he might want to handle his return with some care.
”You’ll want to tell them yourself,” she decided instead, then shook her head in fond exasperation. ”Ah, Rem was here not long ago; went out with Nyale to enjoy the night. Never expected that girl to get along with a Laytos.”
The exasperation brought on by word of Galbadia, however, was anything but fond.
”That man…I spent most of my life fighting his country’s warmongering and then he brings a drill corps to a global summit.” The Concert’s reputation depended on its members. A bad look for Galbadia tarnished Unita by extension. But she shoved worries about Briowitz and public opinion aside for a moment. Her boy was home!
His words brought the smile back. Kalen remembered that smile. He could still remember coming home. So many years ago, before the tangled-up feelings, before he had ever met his strange second mother. Coming home to a house of cold steel and stone. A dark room, hushed and empty. And there…Nona Nipal. Seated in an old wooden chair, holding his youngest sister to her chest, and meeting him with a smile like the sunrise.
”We missed you, Little Prince,” said the woman in his dreams and the woman before him in concert.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Kiss me good-bye, love's memory Follow your heart and find your destiny Won't shed a tear, for love's mortality For you put the dream in my reality His mother's words made the smile twitch, not out of a desire to not see his younger siblings, but rather the same feeling that came at the thought of singing or dancing in front of people again. He didn't know what to think about it. The last time he had left four months ago, he had kind of just packed up shop and vanished, saying goodbye one morning, looking confused and perplexed about something, clasping an old, old journal in his hand. It had been an odd time for him, he had spoken with Rem upon his return at the time and it had seemed that things were going better and headed in the right direction, but as he had left there was something of an aimless nature to his explanations of where he had been going.
North to Trabia he had went, picking up a single call from his mom as she had asked, if not begged, him to tell her everything was okay with him. Kalen didn't lie, but he also didn't know what the real way to reply that four months ago, he thought he had the answers he was looking for. It took one last outing to go to a place he had barely traversed to, to get that answer. It wasn't an easy answer. However, the answer was found, and over the last three years he had grown tougher, some more scars on his body from bouts with monsters and climbing the roughest terrain. If there was one thing he was, if not the size of a mountain, it was growing a deceptive strength to match his devilish speed. Climbing mountains, swimming through rivers, and practicing kung fu with a Samuel Momoson would do that for you.
Here he was though, alive and in the flesh. The haircut giving him an older appearance than his long haired days had ever allowed, nodding his head as Nona had already come to the answer that he would have provided. "I'll find them. If you see them first, you can tell them I'm back, of course, but I imagine I'll run into them long before you do because you're so busy." He laughed, like the most appealing set of choir bells in its light nature, winking at his mother. "I'll find 'em, hopefully, before the end of this night. If not, there's tomorrow. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon, and I mean it. As for Rem...if I know her, she's dragged Nyale off to go about the town. I told you Nyale and her were two sides of the same coin, they're both as bit of rebels as I am not." That wonderful laugh came out again, just imagining what those two had been up two since their performance had ended. His hands crossed over his chest as the smaller woman continued onward regarding Galbadia. It had been...quite the display. And for once, the kind voice showed more awareness of the sociopolitical status of the world than most would ever give him credit for. His travels had certainly done some things and hearing the whispers through businesses and contacts of general political talk always had him at least in touch with what the goingson of the world was. "They brought a drill corp to intimidate and flex on everyone...and I think it worked on many. Its the thing I heard being spoken by people aside from all the fun everyone was having." His voice grew quiet, laced with concern and some edge, both knowing that things had only gotten more stressful since Trabia had pulled from the world even further and causing a tenser atmosphere between the governments.
After seeing the things he needed to see in Trabia, he didn't exactly misunderstand why those people were so on edge anymore.
But that was enough of that, it was a merrier time and they both knew it. Seeing his mother smile earnestly was one of his favorite things, and he was glad it was always within his ability to draw it out of her. Always so serious, but to her, he could always worm his way around that seriousness like a master lock pick. It was always lovely to see, but it reminded him of what all this city had gone through and what she had done, all while being a mother to him when she didn't have to, as well as with four other kids. Their original house was a slab, but it had always been a home. Perhaps, many viewed it as him taking it for granted after he had left to study in winhill, and even leaving to go into the wilderness and becoming the author that he was. They would be wrong, and Sou-hi had piped up often with a similar kind of sentiment.
He wanted to see the world and truly understand how he lucky he was. And he wanted to see a world that others had not gotten to see, because he knew how much his ma, pa, and even his distant father had sacrificed for. Family is everything... the words he had read from that little thick journal had haunted him as soon as he had read them.
"I know its not the time...but I'm going to find something to do that will help everyone. I don't think I want to or COULD do anything as a politician..." Heaven spare the thought. "But...I'll find something. It's not like I'll be hurting for money anyway." His eyes darted around and looked at everyone contributing.
"Is everything okay with you? You need help here, ma, or is there anything else you need done? I've got free time other than hunting down Rem and whatever entourage she's conjured with her ways this time."[m Guardian Force: none Status: Silent

Yukiko Rieko ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━═✥═━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Watching Nyale down the shot of whiskey and then seeing her reaction to it made Yukiko grin with amusement, her flace already flushed from the few shots she had already. In comparison to the other two, she had already been drinking prior to their arrival, so she was already buzzed and nearing to getting drunk. Her eyes lingered up at Nyale, examining her since she got so close. It was a normal habit for Yukiko to do so when someone was this close to her, but while under the influence she had this odd smirk on her face while looking at Nyale. It didn't last long though once the topic of discussion had shifted to what life was like growing up in UNITA for Rem and Yukiko. While Rem was the first to say her experiences, Yukiko was deep in thought about how to describe her life growing up. It surely wasn't as happy as Rem's story, that was certain.
A sigh escaped her lips and she downed another shot before setting the bottle aside and shot glass before speaking her part. "I'd say life here in comparison to Trabia is like night and day. I've never seen so many people smile or so happy like they are here. I got to enjoy it for five years, until about 2 years ago where I had to return home to finish my training for my test mission. Sucks that I blew it but at the very least, I got a GF out of it. So you take some, you lose some. Anyways, that aside, it's not even a fair comparison between the two countries. Life in Trabia sucks. Just straight up. Monsters rapidly grow from level 40 to 100 on a dime. Mom and her squad have been working hard nonstop to kill any of the higher level monsters that are roaming about near the garden. I don't think I've ever really seen her stop working for more than a day or two. In comparison, I am surprised Aunt Nona has time to give with her busy life, but she manages to somehow make it all work." There really was no comparing the two places. Unita was better in everyway. No one chose to live in Trabia because of the snowy tundra. It was hellish to live in such a place. "Least to say, I don't blame the world for not wanting to get involved with Trabia. Monsters like that are just too much, and mom doesn't make it better by being how she is. If not for mom's secretary and Selphie, I doubt she could lead as effectively as she has been.... at least until recently."
Her mother had been acting off for a month, and that had set some alarm bells going off in Yukiko's head initially. She had tried to ask her mom about it, but even she was not anymore capable than Selphie was in that regard. Her mother was a frustrating person to be around, and even more so when she hid things from her so stubbornly. However, before the mood got soured by her, she took the bottle of alcohol and sprang up onto her feet. "Enough of that though! We got partying to do! Let's enjoy this festival to the fullest!" That, and she would prefer to drink than to spend this night worrying, and it might have been the last time she got to enjoy it for awhile. There was so much to do back home. ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━═✥═━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛

Babel Auriel ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━═✥═━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ "This is what I get for suggesting this. Of course it had to come back and bite me!" Babel growled as she quickly made her way through the city. For as tall as she was, standing at a good six foot seven, she managed to move and weave around the crowds of people effortlessly. Knowing that time was of the essence, Babel decided to forgo the streets entirely, jumping up a scaffolding and getting to the rooftops. From there she began parkour across the rooftops, sprinting at high speed with a little extra measure to it. "Haste." And like a green blur she launched herself across rooftop to rooftop, doing her best to get to the president's offiice as fast as she physically could. From below, some would definitely notice a large green blur jumping from rooftop to rooftop, though with the festival taking priority, most chalked it up to just effects or part of the show.
Eventually Babel arrived at the office, landing down with a heavy thud in front of the guards that protected the establishment. Naturally, seeing someone just hop off from a rooftop put them on edge and readied themselves, not aiming their weapons yet, but stepped forward to prevent her approach. "HALT! The president's office is closed! If you have an inquiry you need to make, it must be done after the festival!" They shouted. Babel, for her part, looked amused by the effort, but she spoke in a somewhat serious tone to them. "Well, normally I would go through the usual methods to inquire the president, but tonight is a state of emergency that I think she would wish to know. I am Secretary of Trabia Garden, Babel Auriel. I have an emergency I wish to inform the president of." ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━═✥═━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛

Ny tilted her head as she listened intently to Rem's recollections of growing up in Eden city. The city used to move often due to monster attacks...she remembered being told this long ago, in her education at Winhill. It was fascinating, though unfortunate for the cause of it. She smiled at the story about the blossoms, noticing how fondly Rem seemed to recall it. "Aw, I can totally picture that...how lovely" Ny commented, suddenly thinking about how maybe she took all the flowers and trees and greenery at Winhill for granted sometimes.
"Oh wow, sounds like you've got it all figured out but I'm not surprised! I'm sure you'll do a great job helping to realise her dream. I'll be watching from afar, I expect, cheering you on...and if you need something, call on me for sure," Ny met Rem's gaze, her expression sincere as she continued, "Honestly I really believe in what you're trying to achieve here, so I'd be happy to help you guys if I can" She flashed the other girl a sunny smile and downed the rest of her bottle. Would Nona even accept my help though...maybe not... Ny pondered, briefly.
Her attention turned to Yuki, listening quietly as the Trabian girl expounded upon her life and the harsher aspects of living in Trabia. Her brows furrowed into a concerned frown. "Oh man, I'm sorry about that, Yuki, that sounds like a really hard thing to deal with, and so scary. I hope your mom's okay..."
At least she's got some happy memories from living here... She thought to herself, gazing down at the brightly lit city for a moment.
"Maybe I can speak to my mother, see if we can support somehow..." She said softly. "She did send me here to represent the Garden, after all"
And then Yuki jumped up, and Ny cracked a pearly white grin at her declaration. She clapped her hands together in agreement. "Oh.My.Gosh. Absolutely! I think we should head back down to the festival, if you guys are sufficiently buzzed? I wanna go play sssome games and win some prizes!" The sorceress got up and wobbled her way down off the beam, her cheeks flushed with the effects of the whisky. "Pretty sure I can ssstill aim straight..." She added, slurring just a little bit.
"Rem! Lead the way! Show us where the best games are so I can smack some a** and win a sweet teddy bear" The sorceress gripped the handrail as she walked somewhat unsteadily towards the steps.

Raeka Everett-Maris
____________________________________________________
With the opening ceremony over, Raeka was one of the first, if not the first representative of Galbadia to slip out of his dress uniform. "We only get to come here once as SeeD, and only once every four years, and only once once! Let's paint this whole damn town red!" So was his excuse, but anyone close enough to him would know that Raeka had been acting weird for a few days now. False enthusiasm, false bravado, but the act was good enough to cover up whatever was wrong. It was hard to pierce the veil, even if one could see it.
It wasn't too long before he had somehow acquired a performer's costume, mask and all, and he had begun to drag Mai around Eden City with all the focus of a ADHD kid at a toy store on a sugar rush. They bounced from locale to locale. Raeka spent a chunk of it diving in and out of the performer's dances, usually being no more than a benign problem of being out of place and not knowing the dance. A few times a bit more malicious before he was pushed out of the crowd.
For today, gone was his usual attempts to be sweet, stylish, or at the very least charming with his buffoonery. It only got worse when he got his hands on one of the little shooting games. What would normally be a harmless pellet game was only made worse when Raeka used a few of his tricks to ricochet shots off of the targets and indiscriminately popped a few passerby's.
Easily clearing both the challenge and probably frustrating a few people, Raeka had one a large stuffed Chocobo, and asked politely but firmly to leave. Which was only replied to with a nice and defiant, "Make me." ____________________________________________________

Mai Zeigmus ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━═✥═━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Despite the lack of warmth that Galbadians received in these kinds of events, Mai and Raeka couldn't give two shits about anyone's opinion, and Mai was glad to join her man on such antics of annoyance. To her, the people of Unita were stuck up in their righteous indignation towards her people, most being unfairly treated for the wrongs of others. Of course, she was a Galbadian, so her opinions were always going to be against the majority. Regardless, she was eager to wreck havoc and prove all the more why Galbadians were to be disliked.
"Oi! That's my drink! Get your dirty hands off of it!" A loud scream followed shortly after a shout from Mai, followed by a man being hurled out of the window of a bar. The frustated and agitated Mai looking particularly pissed that someone attempted to spike her drink. "Not that it would have mattered! My body don't function like a regular person! Gonna take more than your shitty drug do something about it!" She hopped out of the window, kicking her foot right up against the man's face and held him down, pointing her blade at his throat. "By law, I am allowed to make a citizen's arrest. So be grateful that I am a kind Galbadian that doesn't execute needlessly!" She said with a smug tone.
But then. "HEY! STOP RIGHT THERE! YOU ARE UNDER ARREST FOR VANDILISM AND BATTERY!" Mai was almost dumbfounded by such a thing, her face like a deer caught in the headlights. "Eh?" She glared at them and then bolted away with her hand balled into a fist as she shouted in the air. "Like hell I'm spending the festival in jail!" She ran away, throwing a white crystal out and causing a flashbang to go off, blinding everyone around her. She bolted down the alley, running around street corners and into the more pedestrian sections of the festival where games and stands were located. Raeka had been left to his devices for a short period of time, but the both of them had managed to cause quite a disturbance in their own ways. Seeing her man, Mai wrapped her arm around her man and grinned. "There you are babe." She gave a wide grin to him, practically ignoring the fact that she had got into a bar fight. ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━═✥═━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛

Rem Estellise La Faustina Nipal
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
”Deal,” Rem beamed at Nyale. One thing Yuki knew about her was that the young woman shined under praise, no matter how she tried to hide it.
The topic soon turned heavier, however. She reached over to rub Yukiko’s shoulder when the girl got into reminiscing. The two had talked much of life growing up in Trabia. Growing up with Koyuki. Yukiko had spent three years under the roof of the Nipal family. There were so many of them, maybe it was easy to adopt one more. And while Nona was absent…a lot…she never missed a birthday, a performance, or a Sunday morning breakfast. Rem had been miserable the day their foster sister left Eden City to return home.
First, Kalen. Then, Yuki.
Pull
But there’s no time for moping!
”With me, girls!” she declared, joining the other two in shooting up to her feet. ”The night is young, and so are we!”
—
Not five minutes later, the pack of girls descended upon the midway! Set on of the widest streets in Eden City, the path was lined in trees decked with streamers, flags, and lights! The road was lined with stalls and booths thrown up just for the Concert, while restaurants and inns shone their lights to entice customers inside for rest. Flashing lights and ringing bells ran the length of the street into the visible distance, vying for the visitors’ attention, promising games, prizes, thrills!
Rem led the group from the fore, walking through the streets of Eden City like she owned the place! Whatever drew Nyale’s and Yukiko’s attention, she had info on it!
Ring toss? ”Unreliable.”
Shooting gallery? ”Rigged.”
Darts and balloons? ”Not that one- he’ll fast-talk you out of twice your gil. But there’s a good one over there by the popcorn stand.”
”Hold up,” she paused them by a stand where a bored-looking young man stood before a bunch of barrels. He lit up at the sight of Rem striding up to his stand. He greeted her with something flirty, and she either pretended not to notice or brushed it off like a champ. ”Three of tonight’s special,” she requested. The boy laughed and hopped to it, filling three cups with some kind of bright, sugary drink. However, when the girls each took theirs, the cups were light- only half-filled?
”Secret recipe,” she informed, nudging the two girls together to form a barrier, before she pulled something out of her coat- oh, heavens she’d grabbed the highest-proof bottle of liquor Yukiko had gotten her hands on! She poured the contents into one cup after another, mixing the eye-watering alcohol with the sugar-saturated slush, until the three of them were holding three innocuous disposable drinks, just like anyone else’s at the fair!
—
The last bean-bag streaked through the air and-!
Whap!
-knocked down the last geezard!
DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING!
”That’s our girl!” Rem celebrated, grabbing her ‘round the shoulders in a side-hug. ”I knew this’d be your game!” Turned out, throwing grenades at fearsome monsters was good practice for throwing bean-bags at cardboard monsters! The whole booth flashed and rang, its strafing gallery of geezards, caterchipillars, and elastoids all knocked down.
”A clean sweep gets you any prize you want, miss!” the barker declared, pointing up at where a dozen varieties of stuffed animals and inflatable weaponry hung.
Once Yukiko had her chosen prize, Rem led the girls a little further, rounding a corner and-
”I believe someone mentioned a ‘sweet teddy bear,’” Rem quotes, standing before a luminous field of lights and targets, and teddies! Compared to most of the games, it was huge! It had claimed the outlet of a small street for itself, and down a long avenue stood a number of bullseye targets on poles. Up front: a chalk line, a sign, and a stand of cheap wooden bows.
On top of stuffed moogles and chocobos lining the edges of the stand, at its top sat the biggest teddy bears any of the girls had ever seen! The huge, plush friends were each at least as big as one of the girls, smiling down at them in the flashing lights of the archery game.
”One play is five arrows,” taunted the none-too-subtle barker; a woman who waggled a batch of dummy arrows. ”Hit every target and you can take home anything you want!”
Rem smiled, slapped a coin down on the counter, and stepped aside to offer Nyale the floor.
—
”All I ever wanted was for you- all of you- to find your way,” Nona promised. That soft smile lingered, but Kalen could see the hints of wear in his mother. The lines in her forehead were there even when she didn’t frown.
”Not you, too,” she said with mock exasperation to Kalen’s offer. ”I’ll tell you what I told your sister: go enjoy it! Play games, eat bad food, meet a damn girl! I’ve got everything in-hand,” she promised, turning back toward the buzzing hive of support staff moving here, there, and everywhere. Her smile lingered, but Kalen could see the weight in it. Each time he came back, Nona was more tired. At first, he’d been able to convince himself it was his imagination.
Before either of them could commit, Nona’s phone rang. She checked the number, frowned, and brought it to her ear.
—
In front of the central administration building, a guard returned with a phone in-hand, which he offered warily to Babel. When she brought the phone to her ear, she heard a familiar voice.
”Babel? What’s this about?” She didn’t bother hiding the edge to her voice. She’d gone through a lot of work to drag Koyuki and the Trabian officials back to Unita after years of isolation.

Babel Auriel, Yukiko Rieko ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━═✥═━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ She was grateful with Nyale's offer, although she did not give her a response to it. It wasn't out of disrespect to her offer, but out of the simple fact that her mother was known to reject help. Her mother was hard to work with. She could only pray that would be the case. Yukiko seemed to beam with excitement once Rem shouted that it was time to start the night. Before Yukiko took off with them, she let out a heavy sight, unbuckling her gear around her body, dropping it all dow and being completely without her armor. It was a first for Yukiko, who generally was seen wearing her gear almost all the time. It was a bit of security for herself, but she felt tonight was a night where she could be free with her cousin and her new friend. "Ah... much better... Let's enjoy our night to the fullest."
========
The night was amazing, Yukiko mainly watching her cousin as she lead them through the many stalls and life among the city. It was almost a dream to Yukiko, especially in such a drunken stupor. She was almost happy. It felt all like a blur with her cousin and Nyale, giggling and drinking together, watching as Rem dominated the games, and Yukiko, herself, was pretty good at throwing, having literally specialized in making grenades to begin with. The prize she picked out happened to be a Malboro, finding the horrid creature to be quite cute.
But then, they were dragged away again from the fair and made their way to an alley where Rem appeared to know a boy. Yukiko raised an eye at the flirting, amused a little by her cousin's disregard of the boy's advances. When she was offered a drink, she coughed immediately and almost gagged from the strength of the alcohol. "Holy... fuc-...ack... That's strong." She was now utterly drunk though, and her expression became almost blissful, her grin wide. Oh boy.
==============
Babel was almost amused that they ran out to hand her a phone to call through to tthe president, but once Nona answered, asking what was wrong, Babel replied. "Our dear headmaster has disappeared from my sight. I do not know where she is or where she may be hiding. Normally, I would not bother you with such a thing, however, she has been incredibly unstable as of late. I don't know how much more you wish to talk about this over phone, but I can assure you that it is important that we know where Koyuki is. For the safety of everyone here." She let that sink in for a second before speaking again. "I don't know what you two fought about all those years ago, but Koyuki died last week. I had to use a phoenix down to resurrect her and then take her to get medical treatment. She's been in recovery ever since, and still is. I don't know how to help her, and I don't know if you do either, but she's losing touch with reality. I am concerned." ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━═✥═━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Kiss me good-bye, love's memory Follow your heart and find your destiny Won't shed a tear, for love's mortality For you put the dream in my reality "Hey, hey, hey why does it always have to come to me and girls? It'll happen if and when it happens, okay! Don't shoot the caring son for doing what ya raised him to do, you know?" His smile turned into a s**t eating grin, knowing full well that if he went on about "respecting his elders" the red haired woman would tease him a bit more. God only knew how many times she had nagged him about finding a nice girl or guy, if he was into them, but overall apathy towards it was always prevalent when his family teased him. He had never dated in school, certainly not while he was on the road, and the fan girls that came to his signings or HAD followed him around school when he was younger, were just not interesting to him at all. Sou-hi had been convinced to drag his name and say that he was asexual, or Jae had gone on about someone "Casting blind on you, because how the hell can you say girls aren't into you."
But maybe, just maybe, he'd acquiesce, that his mother was perhaps right and maybe he should go on out and enjoy the festivities that he had missed, and relish in the fact that he was home on a near permanent basis now. His eyes, only softened though as he looked at her, knowing that the woman before him had been playing mother to five...six kids, including Yukiko now, as well as governing an entire nation and the very fabric of world peace that was constantly at a threat to unravel.
"Can you at least promise to take a vaca-..." Just like on que, her phone rang like it had all through his life. Duty called.
Kalen could only roll his eyes and let loose a comedic sigh, shrugging his shoulders and shaking his head. Mothers... Stubborn to the core and driven. It was at that point he decided to turn about face, and wave his hand in the air, letting her know that he was about to take off and do just as she recommended, hands in his pockets as he descended down the stage stairs to head out to the party...until he heard the name BABEL.
He froze stiff, stopping near the bottom of the stairs at the mention of THAT WOMAN from his mother, not only for reasons he would NOT divulge to anyone willingly, but because of the association that woman in all her six foot seven, towering physiology, had with another person that he was still juggling his own internal thoughts and feelings on even after all these years. Knowing your purpose in life certainly didn't mean you knew how to treat the more complicated people that lurked around said life, in and out like the UNITA tide.
Nona would know her eldest was listening, himself having stopped and turning his head towards her, his arms crossing and face turning into a flat expression. Guardian Force: none Status: Silent

Cosmic Magic Shooter"Watch this now, Bartholomew!" The giant stuffed goldfish sat with a bowler hat and a fake moustache that he had won on a guessing game, looking rather distinguished for a non living entity. It sat on top of a bar stool that its new owner had carefully placed the giant plush on, even going so far as to draw eyebrows on the damned thing to make it look like the fish was raising its brows constantly in interest, now watching the pink haired Esthar engineer take his shirt off to expose the name brand tank top beneath. The clothes that Eren wore were larger than even HE needed, hiding the large frame that he had hidden beneath. At this moment, they were outside and in between the games and an open bar on the street, Bartholomew perched around a few people who watched the proceeds. A table had been placed in the middle of the street, two sitting at a time with people placing bets on either participant as they had a shot and began to do the sport of champions and kings... ARM WRESTLING! The green eyes flashed as he had another shot, shaking his head and glaring at the man before him with a devilish grin, the stand in referee slowly lowering his hand between them before yelling, "BEGIN!" The force in which Eren drove the man's hand into the table was damn near exhilarating to the onlookers, everyone gasping and applauding whilst the opponent could only yelp. "WINNER! EREN KYNG." More money went into Eren's cup as the winners had tipped him for his efforts and he got his cut of the action, shooting a toothy grin at the stuffed goldfish that was currently on the running for BEST FRIEND that he had ever had. "LEZZGO! ONE MO' TIME!" He yelled, everyone cheering around him. One more shot, a shake of his head, and he glared at the behemoth of a man that stepped in front. Oh baby, it on like the doom train song! Both men clasped their hands and the contest began, both glaring at eachother forehead to forehead and began to struggle. The crowd cheered and chanted, both sides split as some cheered on the UNITA locale who had stepped up to the plate with the Esthar located man. Their arms consistently and slowly progressed back and forth between the victory marks, both their heads pushed against each other. Said UNITA man had started to use his fingernails to cut into the depths of Eren's hand, which caused a simple "s**t." to be muttered under Eren's breath. Leaning back, his only retort was to collide skulls with the man, causing an "URK." in response and Eren forcing his opponent's hand as close to the finish as he had ever gotten. "Almost....GOT YA...YOU....BASTA-" Something shot him in the neck. His free hand went and clasped the back of his head as a random bb shot into the back of his head and bounced off, causing a sudden and surprising amount of pain. The sudden interruption gave his opponent enough time and cognition to slam his hand into the side of the table...Eren had lost. Livid energy filled the tall and muscular young man, the older gentleman cackling in excitement whilst absolute anger flushed Eren a pink equivalent to his hair. "Maybe I GET YO WINNINGS NOW!" The zealous drunk before him cackled, reaching towards Bartholomew and the cup of money that was filled near to the damn brim. Closing his eyes, Eren let loose a deep breath and suddenly grasped the man by the scruff of his neck. "Ya don't get ta touch muh main fish Bartholomew." He was slightly tipsy but the sentence came out like an executioner and damn near as perfect as he had ever said anything. That big man flew through the air and crashed near the games in one giant heap. Nobody ******** touched Bartholomew the Plush. Guardian Force: Golem Status: Mute

Matthias Keller Status: Above Capacity. Location: After-Hours Construction Site ____________________________________________________ "Oh, Headmistress Rieko, this is no place to cry." Spoke the voice of a man, not far from Koyuki. If she had been in better condition perhaps she may have noticed she had been followed, or picked up the wafting scent of tobacco from the cigarette dimly lighting the Galbadian's face.
Matthias Keller. Head of the Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement. Galbadia's favorite three letter agency.
"You're meant to be the strongest woman in the world." A cloud of smoke was expelled from his mouth. "From the strongest nation in the world." His tone was condescending, but beyond that he did little more than raise his cigarette back to his lips for a moment. His good eye narrowed, he knew even in this condition that Koyuki was dangerous. Perhaps not as on her game as normal, but as to be expected from Trabians, a cornered animal was always dangerous.
"I doubt the majesty of this event is worth your waterworks, so what could it be... Memories of a better time washing over you, or your boy running home to a mother that isn't you..." He prodded. Truth was he already knew the answer, but he wondered what effect he could have by asking it so bluntly. Would she crack in a moment of vulnerability and speak, or lash out as the animals Trabians so often pretended to be better than. The tip of the cigarette flared as he took another breath of it. The smoke escaping from his nostrils. "We can talk about it, if you like." _____________________________________________________

Raeka Everett-Maris Status: The calm before the storm. Location: The Game Stalls
____________________________________________________
"Babe." He flashed a smile as he felt her arm wrap around him, pulling him out of his focus and inadvertently saving a few people from being pinged. His gaze fell from the worried game runner who had only wanted him to leave, to his sweet, soft, Galbadian devil. Raeka leaned in for a smooch, before a flying man and a crash took him ever so slightly out of his game. Of course the increasing ruckus called the target game operator to call this a good time and began to shut down his stall.
"Well, good evening then." He said to the man, before turning his violet eyes upon the loud mouthed ruffian who had, in part, spoiled his fun. "Y'know, I think I hate him." As good as Mai was for him at times, she was simultaneously something awful for him. Her attitude half the time only emboldened him, and this was one of those times. Of course, he could never hate that he considered her ride or die, which is why perhaps they got out of hand sometimes.
With a snap, fire lit up on poor Bartholomew, as Raeka focused on her. His eyes swirled with malice as he smiled, "Speaking of people I hate, let's find that Nipal kid." It was a tight kept secret that Raeka had come to hate Nona Nipal for taking his mother away from him, as far as he cared. Showing them up during the competitions was nice enough, but the mood had him ensnared and he wanted to ruin her night. Luckily enough for Kalen, he bore another last name which kept him far from Raeka's emotional backlash.
Tonight would be a wild ride if he got his way. ____________________________________________________
