We have taken Priya on a journey to Japan for the summer festivals!
Her look was inspired by the Coycolorscheme. Many of the available choices for the scheme were heavily inspired by Asian cultures. On the other hand, many awesome color combos had been taken. As I was about to use blue and orange when I noticed 2 others contemplating its use. So I settled for a slight shift in the shades. I also hadn't decided to view the RGB color wheel until late, even though it limited me a bit I'd say I'm still very happy with this choice. The next hard spot was focusing on pure color as a lot of the Coy scheme offered a lot of white to fill most of the schemes. I worked with several items, notably the sleeves in order to get the right polished look and vibe for the setting. Many of the options seemed to obstructing and didn't allow for much detail until I cam across the current sleeves. I also really didn't want to muddle her complexion with too much vermillion/dark orange, instead, I thought it was best to shift that color to more of the background to make her really stand out. I'd say that was the most challenging aspect of using those colors with her. About this Look: I'll admit, this is a touch personal to me! To show a big part of myself, I wanted to talk a bit about what I do in my online space as a vtuber! For almost two years now, I have adopted a persona and my online space has been geared into content creation; I play video games, ttrpgs, read, write and draw on stream with my community! Its been a very humbling experience and I'm learning a lot every time I stream, and I'll always be growing. Becoming a vtuber has helped in several aspects when it comes to not just making content or generating any type of income; I've been able to be myself a lot more without the fear of doxxing myself and being unsafe on the internet, as well as helping with my social insecurities and making meaningful and long lasting relationships. Really, if I hadn't gotten into vtubing, I wouldn't have refound Gaia and come here, either! Being a vtuber has helped me unlock a bit of myself, being able to shed the shame that I might feel doing silly things in front of people and being able to be myself, to share the things I love with people I care about, and its brought me a happiness I hadn't found in a long time.
So for this look, I actually created two! I worked with Zanna and together we created a look in the same colors, featuring her own avatar!
Why These Items: For Zanna, we wanted to highlight her love of nature and art, so we went with a butterfly magical girl, summoned to the world to help spread love and joy - and she just so happens to do it best behind the screen as she streams. With the avatar-self, we wanted something complicated yet easy to translate in the space of Live2d or 3d Rigging (for those unfamiliar, think of it as animating art, rigging the art with a movement interface); taking reference from some of my favorite streamers like Ironmouse (I'm linking the ironmouse model index because she has So Many Models, but faves are, Infernal Cult Princess, Angel Form and Birthday Idol), Mori Calliope, Zentreya and Froot(Apricot). As with this competition there is the expectation of keeping her hair/face/eyes the same, we worked with more of the makeup to create something beautiful and with depth but still holding her natural beauty - if the use of the lashes on her eyes docks me with points, I wholly understand.
When we look at IRL/Fleshtuber (a silly joke for those who hang out a lot with vtubers) Zanna, I also emulated the style of work station that I have; my L Shaped Desk has two monitors, my room is full of both memorabilia from conventions, shared moments with friends and events as well as string lights and anything and everything to not turn the big light on in the office. I wanted to create a bit of engaging clutter, to let your eyes wander across the landscape created by a love of video games as Zanna scrolls the most recent social media while on a discord call with some vtuber friends.
By juxtaposing the two models in a mirror, I wanted to create the image of while being so different in design the digital and material are one in the same. Putting more weight on the top (of the avatar model) and on the bottom (of the irl model), and creating a flow of negative space I hoped to capture your gaze so that you can analyze and observe all the intricacies of both designed models.
This is my first chance of doing something like this, and while this is just the first round, thank you. I love making avatars (if you watch how many times I change and make avatars on the daily...), and being able to play in such a beautiful way of creation with such other talented people, I am truly honored. No matter what happens this cycle of Project Catwalk, I'm so thankful for being given this opportunity.

Listening to music vibing and feeling confident why wouldn't dress herself up for that! Besides a little paint splatter will only enhance the look!
I knew before I read anything that my complementary colors would be purple and yellow. Then I hesitated because the description for the challenge literally called out that color scheme. This was not made less difficult by the fact that I wanted to show Naomi painting because I'm an artist and I paint a lot. Gaia, for a website full of artists, doesn't have a ton of items that art related to creating art and the ones they do are hidden. Sleepy I have no idea how you found that easel for your entry I searched so many terms and didn't see that one. In fact I didn't use an easel because they all clipped weirdly with Naomi's arms. Ultimately I focused less on having a pose with a paintbrush or art supply in hand and more on the vibes of creating art.
Once I decided that finding a painting pose for the arms wasn't happening I went back to My purple and yellow color scheme plan. My favorite color(s) are those in the Blue Violet spectrum. So I went with Ghastly purple because its the perfect blue violet hue. The first two items I chose for the look were Ghastly Electric Crush for the mesh top, which I would kill to actually have for my closet, and Unforgiving Death Speaker legs. I really liked this as the set up for the silhouette. I also had grabbed the Pascal l'artiste paintbrush belt I really liked this because it showed the brushes clearly but left her hands free. Which was nice because most paintbrush items have an arm pose and sleeves.
I still needed my yellow and after some back and forth I landed on the Fortune Telling Garb top in lemon. It didn't remove the mesh shirt which would have really unbalanced the color in the look and the stripes alternating with white actually looked really nice and in my opinion less severe. The shorts and amazing fur coat finished the main look.
The background was hard to get together but the Only Draw Cats items gave the vibe I wanted. With paper that had a slightly purple blue tint and the yellow cats! Then the case of paints and the paint splatters finished up the background I finalized with a few accessories and I was really pleased with how it turned out.
While Naomi wasn't my first choice of model I really feel like I wouldn't have such a strong look without her as my muse and canvas and it makes me really excited going into other challenges.

Hello again PC Crew!! I hope everyone has been well heart Originally I wanted to goo of the traditional color wheel and do a Red/Green combo, but I felt that would be too easy. Knowing me, I would have fallen into the Festive color scheme too easily, and I didnt want that, so I went with the RGB color wheel instead! Red and Cyan!!
I have many hobbies, personally, but I went with an Artist for Kimber! I love doing art, more so digital over traditional. Sadly the only digital art item I found was that one background, and it didnt really fit well with Kimbers outfit sweatdrop too much white and way to plain! So, I went with a more traditional vibe, going for a bit of watercolor magic! I thought that the bit of blending matched what would happen if you mixed Cyan with Red! I also tried to find a background that didnt stand out too much. I probably could have done without one, but when I looked at everything it seemed too empty to me. Speaking of Kimbers outfit, I went with a combo I used to wear in High School, torn jeans and a skirt with a comfy jacket! I also wear glasses, and I found those simple yet cute cyan frames that just pulled the whole look together!
Designers Note: I admit, I kinda struggled a small bit finding items that were, how do I put it, solidly colored? Every decent Cyan or Red I found always incorporated some sort of white, black or gold. Please forgive me, I willingly accept any docked points, but I swear I tried sweatdrop I also tried making outfits based off my other interests - Cosplay, Reading, Gaming, but the only one that really spoke to me was Artist! Also, as you can see, I still struggle with my descriptions, but im trying! Glad to be back, good luck everyone!
Also, just had a mini panic attack, I noticed for some reason Kimbers eyes changed gonk I dont know how that happened or why but I fixed it!

Description: Unleashing her inner K-pop fan, Maeve steps out of her comfort zone and into the karaoke room! I love to sing and I've been a K-pop fan for over a decade now and it's had a huge impact on my life, so it was a no-brainer to showcase it for this week's challenge I opted for a fresh, bright, and tangy style typical of second generation K-Pop (ex. 2NE1 and Big Bang) This colourful fashion was directly influenced by my favourite trail-blazing group, SHINee! She sports a hip-hop inspired ensemble while still maintaining some of her personal style elements--studded belts, chains, hair clips and chunky accessories Maeve leans into the more neon side of the traditional colour wheel in this chartreuse and magenta duotone look I decided to raise the difficulty for myself by choosing magenta (one of my least favourite colours since I was forced to wear a lot of pink as a kid) and pairing it with one of my favourite colours (chartreuse) In addition to being one of my favourite colours, chartreuse also greatly complements Maeve's eyes

Description: For this challenge, I continue to showcase Irina's strong-willness through her (perhaps) surprising favourite activity: beach volleyball!
At first glance, Irina may come across as an elegant fashionista who doesn't get her nails dirty. But don't let that outer shell fool anyone! She is definitely a sporty type, her schedule will always have a free spot just for beach sports. But of course, she'll never let anyone else on any team to outshine her in terms of looks cool
For the colours she is wearing, I'm greatly inspired by the Suika colour scheme. I do feel that Irina is someone whose favourite season is summer, a time where she brings out all her vibrant clothes that complements her dark mysterious looks, Red is definitely one of her colours, and I used green to highlight her multi-faceted personality. As a nod to her initial audition piece, Irina sports some flowers on her look, albeit more befitting her favourite tropical activity heart

Challenge 1: Compliments and Complements Designer: NaturallyPragmaticChimera Model: Arden Colors:Raspberry and mint Status: Complete
Description: My look is inspired by the Chinese Lunar New Year which is swiftly approaching. Arden might have some Chinese heritage, so I built her an outfit that a young girl might wear to a New Year's festival. Arden is looking forward to a cheerful celebration with her family with delicious treats, fabulous fireworks, and envelopes with a little extra spending money~
I started with the stockings and dress, then added the cute matching sleeves and collar, some jewelry and a three-part headdress that is designed to match the decor. Red is a very important color in Chinese culture since it symbolizes fortune and success and is featured during New Year festivals, and the minty blueish-green color contrasts beautifully; also, green represents health in Chinese culture. Arden is hoping for good luck and health for the upcoming year. I decorated the background with winter blossoms, candles and just a sprinkling of snow in coordinating colors to exemplify the Chinese winter celebration theme.
I wanted to use tertiary colors since I expected most people to favor primary/secondary hues. My look is leaning more toward RGB complementary colors, since the inversion of raspberry red is closest to mint green and both of those colors look fantastic on this model. Plus, winterberry is a popular color combination on Gaia so it isn't hard to find a variety of coordinating items to create a unique but cohesive look.
I would've loved to incorporate red envelopes or a cute snake in the look because this year will the year of the snake, but sadly I couldn't find anything that coordinated with the rest of the style.

The lewk: I think Jolene is really channeling me in this look. I have a giant green headset, I have short baby bangs (I get complimented on them a lot), she's wearing my favorite colour combo (green and purple) and she's got a little cat too (tho my cat is grey)! She's gamed too close to the sun though, and she feels like she can see a HUD irl. Oh well, as long as she gets to smooch Karlach in the end she doesn't care.

Delicate aromas. Delectable treats. Delightful decor. A sumptuous feast for all your senses... that's what makes afternoon tea one of my favorite activities. After all, there's no pleasure quite like being a beautiful girl surrounded by beautiful things. yum_tea
In terms of fashion, lolita is one of my first loves, and the whimsical stylings I first saw in magazines more than half a lifetime ago have left a lasting impact on my sense of taste. While I'm less active in the community these days, I have many fond memories of meeting up with other girls in my area, all dressed to the nines, to enjoy an afternoon together at our local tea parlor indulging in little luxuries. To me, dressing in beautiful clothing is a form of self-love, and pulling together an outfit that coordinates so many intricate details is immensely satisfying. As such, it felt only fitting to dress Pearl in a frilly lolita-inspired ensemble for this first challenge.
I went on a bit of a journey when selecting the colors for this look. Initially, I had wanted to use my personal favorite shade of cool pastel pink alongside a more yellowy "tea green". However, I didn't love how the colors looked with Pearl's complexion. After playing around with a few different hues, I fell in love with this combination of warm peachy-pink and cool minty-green that are complements on the traditional RYB color wheel, as they harmonize so nicely with the orangey tones of Pearl's hair and allow her natural beauty to stand at the forefront.
My chosen colors are vibrant yet delicate, fruity and floral, much like my preferred tasting notes when it comes to tea blends. I wanted to ensure that Pearl's clothes stood out as the star of the show, so I made use of the brightest mint green as the base of her outfit, with strategically placed pops of peach throughout to draw the eye up and down from head to toe. Taking from the English origin of afternoon tea, I envisioned the setting for this tea service as an English-style cottage overlooking a colorful garden. After all, part of the fun of going out to tea is drinking up the fanciful scenery as you enjoy your finger sandwiches!

Title: Festival Fantasy Description: Festival fantasy is a celebration of movement, light, and freedom. Amidst the crashing waves and gentle breeze, draped in a mingling of lantern and moonlight, Marina twirls and dances freely with nothing but her tunes, her hula hoop, and her sense of self.
The heart of this challenge was in expressing one of the unique facets of our being by showcasing a personal hobby. For me, that hobby is hula hooping. When I pick up a hula hoop and throw on some tunes, I find myself effortlessly drifting into a state of mind that I can only describe as my truest self; the unconstrained sense of freedom, artistry of movement, and distinct inner light make it clear that in those moments, I am the person I was made to be. It is my hope that in this piece, at least a fraction of that feeling is captured.
Orange and blue, complementary colors on the traditional color wheel, work in harmony to highlight the heart of the piece- a dancer with her artist's tools.
Because this a less common hobby, a little bit of background might be helpful in understanding what exactly is going on in this piece. The hula hooping community is, relative to more well-known hobbies, quite small. Despite being small, it is a passionate community, often engaging active community members through festivals. Beaches serve as ideal locations for these festivals for a number of reasons- large, open spaces; breezes well-suited for both active movement and downtime comfort; varying levels of skin (and therefore hoop-body contact) are acceptable; and sand and rocks on beaches are generally safe spaces for related circus and flow arts, such as fire poi and acrobatics, to be practiced. Festival fantasy captures the essence of one of these festivals. While there are limited options for non-aerial, full-size hula hoops on gaia, a real-life nighttime festival usually features LED hula hoops that leave mesmerizing light patterns trailing behind as they deftly twirl about. This marrying of light and movement is reflected in this piece using lanterns in lieu of LED equipment. The hula hoop itself is the decorative ring that Marina is holding behind her. I wanted to capture the reality of what hooping looks like, and as such, put special attention into the way she is posed. Her hand direction, grip, body posture, and hoop orientation are indicative of actual one-handed, off-body movements one might see in real life: a one-handed weave, coin flip, mandala break, or elevator entry, to name a few. The clothing is tailored to functional yet artistic dance; high-contact areas like the arms, neck, chest, waist, and feet are either clothing-free or tightly fitting, whereas more freely moving body parts like the head, knees, and calves are adorned with more artistic articles that are either loose-fitting or more contact-intrusive. Even the earbuds realistically trail up from a pants pocket to an above-waist mounting point to prevent tangling during hooping.
All in all, this piece is an accurate representation of something very near and dear to my heart. I do hope that it inspires at least one other person to embrace the freedom of movement and find their inner self, much as I have with a hoop in my hand.
About the Look: Two of my favorite things are reading and going out in nature, so what better to do than combine these aspects and show Harper out relaxing in nature reading her favorite book? I wanted to capture an ethereal yet relaxing atmosphere for this look!
A Fashionable Read Featured Colors: Crimson & Pine
About: First of all, thank you to the judges for giving me an extra day to complete this challenge! I literally just got back into the country and had just enough time to throw this together.
As for the look itself, I decided to draw on my love for a good book. Frankly, I consider it more aspirational than a representation of reality. Cressida is a far more stylish woman than me, so I swapped out my typical reading outfit (sweatpants, messy hair, fuzzy socks) for something far more fabulous (lovely dress, styled hair, cute heels). Likewise, I upgraded my typical reading spot (curled up under a blanket on my couch like a weird little gremlin) for something a little dreamier (idyllic hillside with a gentle breeze).
I don't usually like to work with color schemes, but I found the festive scheme to be the perfect option considering the tight deadline. I do have a secret soft spot for red and green, despite the fact that it screams CHRISTMAS. We'll just say this look is a gift I'm giving to Cressida and call it good enough.
