Inuyasha_takahashi well,so far all gai has shown any ability for is taijutsu and we can't forget kakashi's ANBU experiance and his Obito experiance he is wiser and better then gai he has sharingan and could copy any of gai's moves, but gai could beat him in taijutsu,to be fair except for the fact that kakashi only needs to use Kage Bunshin no jutsu and he could gang up on gai and beat the living crap out of him so in all kakashi is better
yea, kakashi was beaten by itachi but gai beat itachi...its all a game of rock-paper-scisors (im to tired to remember how to spell that)

It depends on what type of fight it is. If you think of it in a D&D sense, Kakashi is like a powerful wizard, while Gai is more like a warrior. So long as kakashi stays back and uses his techniques, he'll pummel Gai. On the other hand, if he lets Gai fight him in hand-to-hand, well, then he's much more likely to lose. Overall odds are in kakashi's favor, I believe, because he is able to fight both at distance and close up, with more of an advantage when backed off. Plus, he won the game of paper-rock-scissors, so he's stronger. blaugh
