I agree with what you've stated. Plus the incorrect usage of "your" and "you're" bothers me to no end. As well as some people confusion to "there," "their," and, "they're".
Please, they all mean completely different things.

Oh that whole "greengrocer's apostrophe" thing drives me nuts! "DVD's..." GRRRR...
The other thing I see in buisnesses that drives me batty is using quotation marks for emphasis. Things like:
PLEASE USE "EXACT" CHANGE
"NO" DOGS ALLOWED
Irks me to no end. Maybe it is because of people doing "air quotes" but it always makes me imagine the sign is being sarcastic and meaning the opposite of the message! mrgreen

"alot". Confusion of "there", "their", and "they're"; "your", "you're"; "it's", "its"; "then", "than"... that's what I can think of at the moment... "accept" and "except" don't really bother me because it isn't as easy... OH another one is "two" "to" "too".

AH. I just remembered another thing. It really bothers me when people say "should of", "could of" etc., because of the way the contractions are pronounced. It's like... don't you know how to use past tense? evil .

- misuse of there/their/they're - misuse of then/than - disregarding apostrophes - misuse of you're/your - substituting "u" for "you" - misspelling "definitely" - using "ain't" or "y'all" for any reason - "I could care less." "Oh? That must be troublesome. I couldn't care less myself."

I saw this girl on Fanfiction, she wrote "minute" as "minuet" every single time, so it's definitely not a typo. That's how she thinks it should be written.
I was so irritated. Can she not see that "minuet" would not be pronounced the same as "minute"? For goodness sakes, everyone thinks she was typing about a waltz or something! scream

1. "should of" instead of "should've" 2. using "damn," the verb, in place of "damned," the participle 3. not using too 4. Using the wrong "to," "too," "two."
And especially when people put punctuation outside the quotation marks.

SeleigheFey It's more a grammar than a spelling thing, but I hate it when people misuse apostrophes. If I get one more invitation that says "Your Invited..." scream Or when you walk into the grocery store and the sign says "Apple's." It's not that hard to get right! I don't like it when people wright things like; "pm'd"

more:
1. "1" instead of one 2. "2" instead of to, too, or two 3. People who spell avatar "avitar" 4. Using then when you should use than and vice versa.

Musomaniac The miss use of the word "don't". Correct: "Don't touch that!" Incorrect: "We have this movie already, don't we?" Same with "aren't" and every other "n't" word. Well, I'll keep that in mind, then. I had no idea until you brought that up. eek I'm only slightly dumb... stare
