But that's probably a good thing, considering how Hurt is my favorite NIN song. I wouldn't give Johnny's version a chance.

I haven't really seen any bands do a cover of any NIN songs....why? I have heard one, its by Linkin Park. They covered the song Wish. I think its cool, but not so good compared to the original...

Just as someting personal, I don't really like covers of songs. It just makes the bands that do them uncreative, like they have to mooch off of someone elses song to get good. The onlt time I really like a cover is when the song is real old and it's more of a tribute to the band that originally did it rather than a quick pay check.

I think most bands cover other bands because they really like the song and the music and want to show people that way.

I don't think many people cover just for money, unless your name is P Diddy.

Most of the time it doesn't really matter. As far as I know they always have to ask the band they are covering for permission, and fans still like the original better.

well i agree that's he's certainly not jesus and i agree tat is was ******** retarded that he changed the lyrics there but honestly i liked the johnny cash version better than the original... probably only because i heard the cash version first and grew to like it (please no one kill me for this...)

I don't really like the Johnny Cash version very much. I mean, I like him and all but I just really don't like his version of that song.

Don't mind that he changed the lyrics. Johnny Cash wasn't a crown of s**t type man, and it would be really really weird to hear him say that. I think replacing it was "thorns" was a bit dumb though.

Not really a fan of most covers either. I don't know, it just seems wrong to hear someone singing a different band's song.


Edit: And I had to turn the Linkin Park one off way through. Oh god, that's awful. XD
