But what is wavedashing/shining or any other techs.? You see am the type of gamer who really does'nt get into this techs. or anything I just want to fight. Well recently I entered a SSBM tornament and I did'nt do to bad but in the semi finals I got my a-- handed to me on a silverplater. After that I want to learn all these techs.

As long as you acknowledge that advanced techniques are necessary, you are not a noob.
These people saying advanced techniques are useless are noobs.

Pure skill is good and all, but there are some situations where wavedashing is useful. L-cancel is useful period. They're right when they tell you that you'll be better after you learn these skills and learn to use them.
