Hm. I remember reading something about Depp saying Jack wasn't gay, but Depp tried to portray him as just that. 3nodding

another mindless teen Jack, to me, did seem like he COULD be gay or have some sort of physical relationship with someone on board if he wanted to. His actions and even the way he walked might suggest something gay or flamboyant. But I think for the most part, he was straight. Maybe bisexual, leaning heavily towards girls? I agree with you. That is exactly what I think.

Well, when you think about it, it makes perfect sense in more ways then one. I mean, on a ship out all alone in a huge blue ocean yes, you'd want to share your bed with someone but also among a group of 50 or so unreuly pirates, wouldn't like to have an ally of sorts to assure you at lest a little covering of your back? And who better to do that then your lover who you've already come to trust at lest a little.
(Just so you know, I'm generally against Gays/Lesbianes.)

Ageless Bill Turner mystikdreamer Caged bird syndrone. If you're on a pirates ship, surrounded by guys...it's bound to happen at least sometimes. Maybe that's why they didn't take women with them. But like you said, they had whores in Tortuga so Jack probably went there whenever he was 'in the mood' You can't just zip on over to Tortuga when you're on a galleon. Like Depp pointed out in the quote, they'd be gone for months and years at a time, making port only when they needed to for only as long as they needed to. Not to mention, it's a pretty damn big ocean, despite. The Spanish Main would take about a month and a half to cross on a galleon, in good weather, with the wind fully at their backs the whole time, with no stops. See what I'm getting at? But alas, if he was still shacking up with the whores whenever he got a chance, it doesn't make him gay. It would make him bi, or just incredibly horny. So yeah, possibility of him sleeping with males on a ship? Yeah could be, but I still think his preference would run for females if given a choice.

I think Jack seems to deny it a little tooo much through out the movies- or he denies it in such a way like 'pishh.. look at that guy hitting on me ninja ' But I must say, I love the idea of man-love with Cap'n Jack Sparrow. I doo. xp

I've just read some of an biography about Johnny Depp, and he actually said that while alot of people working at Disney really liked his portrayal of Jack, he said there were a few who were really panicking, saying "why is he wlaking like that? why has he got so much eyeliner on? is this character a homosexual??!...is this going to ruin the film?!" He said he wanted to play the part in that way.

Usually that helps things biggrin Oh, okay... sweatdrop ....*reads first post*.....hmmm.....all things considered, there are alot of references to Jack and other women especially on Tortuga...and the reference to Tia 'knowing' Jack....I don't think he's gay at all, but the thought of leaving it questionable is intrigueing...It would be just like Johnny Depp to come up with something like that to keep everyone guessing!!!!
